I will say when we pulled up I was surprised to see everyone working in the kitchen through the windows. Then we asked in the front door and it was so much smaller than I imagined. One single set of shelving down the middle of the store with foods on one side and wine on the other. The perimeter is a deli type counter on one side with the food counter and checkout area in the back. Please believe me when I say be prepared to just look past all that chaos to see the beauty in it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Yes they do offer suggestions, answer your questions and carry your purchases to your car for you. Who does that nowadays?!? I read a review saying not to skip out on the rosemary sea salt bread so I didn't. I mean the smells and it looked like perfection on the tray so how could I resist!? So glad I didn't. It was warm, soft, flavorful and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! I would return for the fresh baked bread alone. We were given samples and we made our selections, paid and had our goodies carried out to the car for us. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Holy cow! This place is incredible. This will now be my go to Italian market in Columbus. We also got a taken bake Italian sub they made it for us and then told us how to bake it when we got home even the bread was homemade. This was by far the best Italian sub I've ever had in my life. They have tons of great wines, by the time my lady was done in there, we had a case of 12 different bottles! lol We check out and I try to grab the groceries, and the gentlemen said, no I we carry those out for you, and walked the groceries out to my car. This is wonderful! We ordered an Italian sub, chicken parm, a loaf of fresh bread, and some meats from the deli which were all amazing. This was our first time here so I was a little bit confused when we first got there because I couldn't find the menu sitting in front of my face, lol. The staff were really busy and super nice. One of the young men took our order to our car which was unexpected and really cool. The Italian sub was absolutely delicious and HUGE. The chicken parm was also tender and delicious. This was our 1st time trying to go here after seeing a social media influencer post about it. It's supposed to be a deli, but they were sold out of sandwiches by 1:30pm. Seemed odd. It's like a KFC running out of chicken. The store was very haphazard with packaged food products stored in boxes touching the floor. Also, some of the pre-prepared foods were sitting on top of the display counter out in the open with no refrigeration. Seemed kind of sketch. VERY poorly managed, at least at Christmas time. I left work a little early. Driving near 161 + Sawmill. Realized I'm hungry and thought about dinner. Said to myself "I'd love a good meatball sub...". I've stopped at Vincenzo's for at least 25 years (they opened in 1987). They have a very good meatball sub. So I park and walk toward the door. There's a huge sign in the window that says "DUE TO STAFFING SHORTAGES, WE'RE ONLY OPEN 8am - 5pm". Are you kidding me...?!? It's 4:50pm on a Thursday afternoon during holiday shopping rush. I guess I'd better hurry - I only have 10 minutes. Strangest closing time for a carry-out restaurant I've ever heard of. I walk in, there's 1 other customer in the whole place - sitting at a high-top sipping wine. They have literally 10 people working behind the counter. It looks like they're employing the entire Dublin High School lacrosse team during winter break. So much for having a staffing shortage. I guess if you want to close your restaurant at 5pm, that's your prerogative, but that's dumb and not very customer-friendly. And it's kinda insulting to your customers to say it's because of a staffing shortage when you're clearly very overstaffed at the moment. There are only 2 customers, including me, in the store with 10 workers. Should be easy, right? Not so much... I speak to the young woman behind the prepared foods counter, and ask for a Meatball Sub (which I've ordered here a dozen times). She says "I'm sorry, we're not doing subs during Christmas time." Are you kidding me...?!? (second time, if you're keeping track) She's embarrassed, and trying to be helpful, so says "but I can sell you the ingredients - meatballs with sauce, bread, cheese." OK, sell me the ingredients and I'll put it together myself at home and fire up the oven. She puts some meatballs in a container and points me toward the bread. I see the manager behind the deli counter ladling Wedding Soup into containers. Ask him if it's for sale? He says "yes". Then I ask 1 of the 8 young men behind the deli counter for some sliced provolone for my meatball sub and some deli meats so my wife can have a cold cut sandwich (amazingly, she doesn't like meatball subs). He says "I'm sorry, we just put our slicer away. I can't sell you sliced meats or cheeses". Are you kidding me...?!? (yep, that's the 3rd strike, and where I come from you're out on the 3rd strike) There are like 8 young men standing around behind the counter doing absolutely nothing, just standing and waiting for 5pm. You have a huge case of cold cuts and cheeses sitting right in front of me. The deli case is half the store. But because you have a "staffing shortage", and because it's getting close to 5pm, you're not going to sell me sliced cold cuts or cheese for my assembled-and-made-at-home-by-me-and-baked-by-me meatball sub...?!? I asked please. The answer was "no". The manager was standing there the whole time, ladling soup - he heard everything, but never said a word. So I let them keep the meatballs and walked out. I'm guessing they said to themselves - "are you kidding me..."?!? My mother always said you can be nice but still make your point. So... "very, very, very disappointing". I left feeling they didn't give a shit about me - the ridiculous sign out front about a staffing shortage when they had 5x more employees than customers, closing at 5pm in the middle of Christmas shopping rush (Sawmill Road was PACKED with shoppers), don't want to make a meatball sub, already washed and closed the slicing machine before the store was closed. Disappointing. Poorly managed, at least at Christmas. Too bad, their food's been good in the past. So I went to City Barbeque on Henderson Road. Madhouse. 5x more customers than employees. But somehow, their very busy and overstretched employees were friendly and helpful and made me feel like I mattered to them. They apologized for the wait. They were friendly. They made sure I got what I wanted. Very well managed. City Barbeque opened in in 1999. Vincenzo's opened in 1987, 12 years earlier. But City Barbeque (who always makes me feel like a valued customer) now has 67 locations, and Vincenzo's is still has 1. Absolutely ridiculous... Called first thing in the morning to place an order asked what was recommended for the amount of people we had and had settled on our order. After having the order carried out and paying a ridiculous amount we realized that we were given WAY too much food. I tried to speak to a manager but was dismissed to the person who I placed the order with. No one was of ANY help I called multiple times to try and have things resolved and I was only met with denial and a disrespectful tone my concerns were completely dismissed. This was supposed to be for a work gathering. We are NOT happy campers! MANAGEMENT DO BETTER!! We all feel very taken advantage of for the situation. Placed an order at 10am for a small office of 6 people. Prior to ordering I let them know I was a new customer and wasn't sure how to order. I was asked by a Brandon how many people I was looking to feed to which I said 5-6. I told him what we were wanting to include in the order thinking he'd make the order to feed the amount of people I asked. My doctor went to pick the order up and was given SO much food! Assuming it must have been a mistake, I called the store to let them know. I spoke with the manager who then passed me to Brandon, the one who took my order, to then be rudely dismissed and given back to the manager who offered no help either. A wonderful surprise! I moved to this area about 5 years ago and assumed Vincenzo's was a restaurant (it is) but had no idea of the format. I planned my visit to take home an Italian sub ($10.99) and whatever else looked good. Major flaw in that plan was absolutely everything looked good. So... I chose a small loaf of bread (sea salt & rosemary) and a small bag of amaretti cookies while waiting for the sandwich. I heated the sandwich up in the oven at home and despite the 'serves 2' suggestion, I sliced the beautiful sandwich into 4 portions. The bread is amazing - crusty with a delightfully fluffy interior and essentially perfect alone or as the sandwich wrapper. The sandwich ingredients were fresh and high quality / easily the best Italian sandwich I have ever had. I am saving the bread to slice and have with dinner tonight. I'm looking forward to it. A friend told me about Vincenzo's several years ago, so I made a point to stop in since I was in the area. This Italian-centered market is small, but has decent menu (more on that below) and wine selection. Looks like all the boxed products and olive oils are imported from Italy, a good sign of quality. Every Friday and Saturday (the entire year-long), Jordan mans their grill out front of the store grilling up all kinds of different meats, pork, poultry, etc. He informed me that stUff on their menu is not pre-made, so it is better to call ahead the day or two before so your item(s) can be prepared fresh. He also mentioned that their meats are always grilling throughout the two days, so most isn't ready until closer to the 12-1 PM hour - note to self. Their website's menu has several items that sound wonderful, so a calzone was my original intent for my stop. I stopped in around 10:45 AM and the calzones were still baking, so I will definitely order ahead next time. I did get some of their popular Chicken Salad Genovese - always made daily and readily available. Their fresh homemade pesto sauce is phenomenal, and the chicken was tender. I ate it with some TJ's Stir Fried Cauliflower mix and it was so good. I bet it's fantastic with a tasty cheese slice and toasted on fresh baked bread - yum. I really love getting food from here. I'm from NJ and this is the closest i'll get to a genuine Italian deli. Recently i ordered about 2 lbs of their Stromboli. A contractor was finishing up work on our upstairs bathroom. He'd gone to a county fair the day after with his daighter, and he wanted Stromboli, but he was disappointed with the one he had there, so i said i would get it at Vincenzo's because all their food is great. I placed an order got it the following day. I gave the pepperoni and cheese Stromboli to my contractor, which i regretted. Mainly it's a wine shop, with what looks like a great selection (I'm not a wine guy.) There are a few dry goods, not much more than pasta and olive oil. The prepared foods are where it's at, for me. If I lived closer and hadn't been on my way to work, I would have tried some of each: chicken parm, eggplant parm, sausage, etc. Everything was the real deal and looked very appetizing. I ended up with an Italian sub- probably the best I've had in Columbus. Not that I'm out hunting down the best subs, but this one is great: excellent bread, great meats, fresh veggies. And huge- I barely ate half for lunch, and finished the rest at work. I was sad when I was done both times- it was that good. It's a bit pricey, but absolutely worth it for the size and quality. Louis, the owner of Vincenzo's, has home made pasta that is so much better. And most remarkable of all, his kindly and elegant matriarch mother Theresa makes it for us ! See pic. Louis uses the home made pasta as a base for many Italian dishes, but the Bucatini is to die for! I ordered many different items on the menu but they were all sold out... so I only got the Italian sub, a cannoli, and one piece of meatball. Love the meatball the most! It's gigantic and flavorful. The tomato sauce was addictive. Although there was just one meatball, it was an incredibly huge one.... Cannolis were good, but it didn't leave a high mark on me. For the Italian sub... okay... it's also gigantic. The bread part was tasty but way too thick. Every bite was extremely difficult because the thickness of the bread. But truthfully, overall the sub tasted great and fresh. I just wish that the bread was made slimmer and a bit softer so that it's more manageable. On the way back from getting my haircut I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd stop by for a sandwich. Frankly for $13.99 I expected something way better than what I got. The picture in the yelp web site of their Italian Sub tells it all. The bread to meat ratio is completely off. More like 80% bread to meats and cheeses. Actually it's hard to taste the sandwich fillings there is so much bread. Just ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and make your own sub. You will be much happier! read more

We've been passing by Vincenzo's for years and finally went in yesterday. The breads are awesome. We got the olive oil and the garlic loaves. Both of them were really really good, and we've already gone through half a loaf each. They also have a small but nice section of home made meats and pasta. The sausages looked especially good. They have a fairly extensive wine selection. We bought a few wines but haven't had a chance to try them yet. So can't comment on those yet, but I'm looking forward to trying the Chianti.
