It's been many years since I've been here, this used to be my favorite Pho place. The owners have changed, used to be a whole family, now operated by just 2 young people. The pho soup is still very flavorful, I can taste the bone broth base, maybe lack just a little bit depth compared to the original. The "everything" combo has only 3 meat listed vs. 5 for typical authentic Pho, but the tripe showed up unannounced, a positive surprise to me. However, it still doesn't have my favorite, that's beef tendon. The main disappointment lies within the rice noodles, it's mushy & soggy, been in the soup too long. This could be easily avoided by leaving the cooked rice noodle out of water & only combine with pho soup upon serving. There's no justification for serving soggy rice noodles, texture is a big part of good pho.

I came here for their drinks. I haven't been able to have any boba/tea drinks since I moved from Miami. The first drink I ordered which is my go-to is passion fruit tea with lychee jelly. They knocked it out of the park. So freaking gooooood!! Def got my tea fix out here. Next stop will be for the food cuz it smelled soooo good in there!!

Authentic bowl of beef pho. Food size portions, good service and delish bowl. Large menu of food and drinks.

This is good simple Vietnamese food, all of the pho are delicious made with fresh ingredients and a tasty clear broth. The appetizers are also satisfying. The service is quick and professional. I have dined there alone or with a party of 6 the experience has been equally pleasant.

Once you figure out the entrance door you are greeted by a nice open small dining room with about 3 dozen seats and a pleasant smile from the waitstaff. Food was very good and on point although the fresh rolls were a little overstuffed with noodles. The wontons were a 10 and I was impressed with the pho garnish including a large sawleaf as well as the Thai basil the sawleaf is usually only found rarely as is rauram even though it wasn't included. The pho broth was a 10 as was the wonton soup which had a handful of fried shallots definitely a plus and very appreciated. I will definitely revisit again.

Food was great and so was service. Very reasonably priced. Cute place. Would recommend.

Stopped by to grab some shakes with boba. The avocado shake was really delicious. My partner likes their durian shakes. Was told there would be a little wait, but the service was still very quick. Always lovely to sit inside when there's room, the decor is very relaxing.

I'm not here to slam any restaurant by no means but very disappointing and I was very disappointed. I am very surprised with all of the good reviews. I am not saying this is a bad place at all. I've only eaten there once which wa tonight 2.17.20 and it wasn't that great. I guess there is a reason the other pho place directly across the street was packed tonight and this one wasn't. I was planning on going to Pho Saigon which is right across the street from this place. When I arrived, Pho Saigon was packed and I was looking for a quiet night with a nice bowl of pho on this cold February night. So,I opted to come to this place for pho. The Pho Bo Vien was bland and barely had any taste or flavor. I waited for it cool down a little to try it again but unfortunately it was very bland. I ended up having to doctor it up with a lot of fish sauce added to the bowl of pho to kick it up a notch with some flavor. The fried egg rolls were different than I've had but these were good. So again. Not bad. Only here once. Only tried 2 items. The pho was b lm and and hardly had any taste to it. All of the different places I've been to for a while now are very good. When I have the pho which is most of the time it tastes great. No need to add anything to it. It just tastes great. Unfortunately this places pho falls short in the taste/flavor dept. There were two police officers who arrived seconds before I did and one other person eating there. Other than that the restaurant was empty. While the pho restaurant across the street was filled up with many guests. I should finish by saying their prices are very reasonable and service was decent.

An amazing delicious Fresh food tasting Vietnamese restaurant. I went there by chance because we were passing through the Forest Park area. My wife and I decided to give it a try. I am quite familiar with Vietnamese cuisine and was pleasantly surprised because this restaurant had much more to offer than some of the other restaurants I've been to. All of the food was fantastic and I couldn't seem to get enough of it. My wife and I would definitely recommend it.

Pretty good vietnamese food. The grilled pork was really flavorful. Had a few spices in it that were different than what you typically get at other vietnamese restaurants. The vietnamese coffee was nice and strong. Would recommend.

Was around the area and decided to stop in for bubble tea...what a mistake! Ordered 4 different drinks. They were all bad! First, you can taste the powder. Every sip I took, I could feel the powder all over my mouth and stuck in my throat. Second, it's been 10 mins and the other drink looks disgusting. If you have to constantly stir it back together before drinking it then there's a problem. As you can see in the picture, this drink looks gross.

I am glad to see a new Vietnamese place in the area though, and especially with earlier hours. We were quickly greeted upon entry, and service throughout was pretty stellar. No complaints at all. We were pointed to what was available on the menu that day, which was probably one of the biggest frustrations about the overall experience. Given that this restaurant is a cafe, it already has a small/limited menu, and then to be told only certain items were being served was even further limiting (overall it was fine though because we knew what we wanted and it was available). The interior is well laid out given how little space they are utilizing, and there was a TV blasting a Vietnamese game show of some kind. I normally would be annoyed by this sort of thing, but it added to the overall charm of this place for me. Clean interior. The food was pretty great overall, you can tell everything is made from scratch. The pho broth was very unique and very complex in flavor. There was a little bit of heat in it, which I absolutely loved, and have never tasted in other pho broths that I've had before. I wish there was a little more meat in the dish than what we were given, but overall pretty solid. This place is a solid lunch time spot to get pho, though there is stiff competition for Vietnamese restaurants in this area...

I ordered the Rice with Korean Short Ribs and at first it's your typical Rice with Korean Short Ribs, but what sets them apart is how much food you're getting for the price that you're paying. I basically got half a plate of short ribs for $10 and just as much rice to balance it out. The short ribs were tender and well marinated. Initially, my thoughts on the short ribs were salty then I REALIZED that I was SUPPOSE to eat the short ribs with rice because unlike western cuisine, the short ribs and the rice are suppose to be eaten TOGETHER and not separately. D'OH! The two balanced each other out nicely when I ate it correctly (i.e. short ribs and rice together). The Pho broth that accompanied the rice dish is a nice touch because traditionally, rice dishes are accompanied with some sort of soup (even in Vietnamese Households at dinner time) because sometimes as you are eating rice, your throat might feel dry and the soup helps balance that out. +ELITE TIP: Before adding fish sauce to the rice, try the short rib with the rice first. Then if you think it's bland, add fish sauce to suit your taste.

The dining area is still very sparse in design and coverage. The wait staff were still apathetic, and the wait times for things is still a little long. The Korean fried chicken was very tasty, sweet and salty Korean bbq sauce on perfectly fried wings was delightful. We opted for the pho, and that was very good. The broth was rich and flavorful, no need to season it was perfect already. The brisket was tender and still had a strong brisket flavor. There was a good amount of meat to the bowl and the noodles were fresh. The noodles did clump a bit, but they easily separated when agitated. All of the sushi was not as successful. The rolls lacked any significant flavor and missed some basic elements of sushi preparation. The rice was not seasoned, was not sticky, and the fish was roughly cut. The spicy rolls lacked spice and the crunchy rolls lacked crunch. It was presented well, just didn't show the level of care the front of the menu had. We informed our server of the sushi problems and she apologized but still charged us for all the sushi. Making an otherwise great experience not so great. I would recommend those who come here to focus on the front of the menu exclusively. Those dishes are stellar and are well worth the asking price. The sushi menu on the back is basic in flavor, pricy, and only worth having if you really need sushi. It does limit their menu significantly, but the quality difference is drastic.

I walked into a space where the owners were warm and engaged in a way that came through consistently, and the restaurant had the feel of a place run with real investment in what comes out of the kitchen. The pho is the centerpiece and it earns that position. I tried the broth, which was light and clean, built with depth rather than heaviness, and the beef was tender throughout. The short rib and oxtail versions are the ones to order when available, and the brisket is the reliable fallback when they are not. The rare steak and tendon option is worth trying for anyone who wants to go further into the menu. I also ordered the pork vermicelli bowl, another strong choice, with well seasoned pork and fresh vegetables that held up against the noodle base. It came with a spring roll component that added to the overall value of the dish. The banh mi was flavorful and well assembled, and the fresh rolls were worth ordering alongside whatever else I got. Vietnamese iced coffee and Thai tea were both solid and complemented the food well. Service was friendly, and the owners were visibly present and genuinely hospitable. The restaurant accommodates families well, with the kitchen going out of its way on small details like kid friendly utensils and high chairs that make the experience easier for parents. For Vietnamese food in this part of Connecticut, it is the kind of spot worth going out of my way for.
