I had to cancel an appt. I made with Yogi ahead of time due to scheduling conflicts and she didn't have any appts. available at all for the next 3 days when I needed to get my eyebrows done before I leave. I called Vinita's to make sure Yogi was there and if she can take walk-ins. The lady said to come at 3:30. I show up at 3:30 and sign in and see that the wait for Yogi was 155 minutes which is way too long. I wished she would have told me this on the phone. While I was talking to the receptionist I put walk-in instead of first come first serve thinking it's the same thing which was a huge mistake because the receptionist thought I was waiting on Yogi even though Yogi has her own check-in thing. There were no seats left so I asked the receptionist if they text & she said Yes. 45 minutes go by and I get no text. I ask the receptionist and that's when I find out she thought I was waiting for Yogi even though I put walk-in. I had to wait even more because now all the people with appts. showed up. In total I was there for 1.5 hours. The whole thing was very miscommunicated. However, the saving grace was Mini chair #1 and 10/10 recommend her. I think Yogi is great but unless you make an appointment it's not worth it. Mini was just as thorough, took her time, knew exactly what looked good, and was the nicest. She's off Tues/Wed but she will now be my go to. Highly recommend making an appointment to avoid any waiting. read more

I recently had an eye injury and I am under doctor's orders not to wear my contacts. It just feels obvious that I shouldn't use any eye make-up either to protect my eye from any irritations. That being said, I felt the need to go get my eyebrows down so I don't let myself go too much. I discovered Vinita's Beauty and Threading through Yelp and the reviews highly recommended Yogi or Tina. When I arrived I asked for Yogi and Tina and the receptionist and other ladies here showed clear signs of annoyance on their faces. I was told that Tina was off and to follow the tablet to sign in and pick who I wanted. The tablet asked for my name, what service I wanted and then listed the staff members who were working that day. Tina was off, so I definitely wanted my brow threading ($9.99) with Yogi. I appreciate that the tablet displayed a wait time next to each person's name. All of the other ladies had a zero minute wait, but I was only with waiting a quick 5 minute for quality service. The wait was definitely worth it!! Yogi, who is chair #2, was super sweet and friendly. She thoroughly asked if I liked my shape and thickness of eyebrows. Everyone has different preferences so I truly appreciated her diligence. I explained that I liked my shape with the slight arch, and brows not too thin. Throughout the threading process she would carefully brush my brows and thread and at the end she showed me the mirror. She explained that the previous place who threaded my brows messed up and threaded into my natural brow line so she intentionally left some hairs so that my brow would grow back out. I was torn between giving this place a 4 or a 5 since the studio can use major upgrades and the receptionist was terrible, but I really liked Yogi so I want her to have the 5 stars. I had to ask the receptionist for Yogi's card. Most places automatically give you their cards. And then I had to follow up and ask which days she was off. With the tablet being there and the receptionist being less than useful, I don't see why her presence was needed. I would have been find just dealing with the tablet than her attitude. I asked for my eyebrows in a certain shape and the esthetician's response was extremely rude. She told me that she can't give me that shape and that I should go elsewhere. She also told me that I should stop messing with my eyebrows myself because I have ruined them (although I told her I never touched them myself before). As it was my first time here I made the rookie mistake of not making an appointment (via website or phone) thinking it's a weekday (day off work) and it's within the first hour of them opening, how busy can they be? Packed and busy apparently. I need to find a job where I have free time on the weekday, but enough digressing. As I wanted to check Yogi I opted in waiting it out. Might as well catch up on emails and other items while I wait close to an hour. Apparently, they do threading here without their mouth and she took her time and I was really happy with the results. The fact you not only see females but a handful of males clients tells you something about this place. And being that it's not too far from my work, I might be two-timing on my gal. Would give zeros if I could. Bad customer service. I've tried this place a few times and had some hiccups but I really wanted to give Yogi another last try. She is a really good eyebrow artist but comes off arrogant and is very rude. She doesn't appreciate any feedback if it's not 100% positive. Last time she was offended when I said my eyebrows looked slightly round and not arched. This place runs on appt schedule which is great but accounts for zero traffic time if you're 5 to 10 minutes late. They'll put you back in queue and that can take 45mins -1 hour sometimes if you want your eyebrows with Yogi. This last time I called at 5:52pm to see if Yogi will accept walk-ins at 615pm and they said yes after checking with Yogi. I get there at 6:11pm and 5 mins after check in while I'm waiting, the lady tells me Yogi is not taking any more walk ins. She should've told me on the phone or at-least as I'm actually checking in. I just drove all the way from Newport Beach which is not crazy far but still a commute. I even called before leaving NB and I was told Yogi will take walk ins until 645pm. Ack! I came here due to all the good reviews. I musta gotten a new girl (Reena). My eyebrows are as such: left eyebrow about 1/3 thinner than my right eyebrow. Super friendly, fast but more important meticulous with how they thread my eyebrows. I had Yogi and she was so nice like I mentioned and seemed like a perfectionist with her work. She gave both my kids who were waiting a candy which was very thoughtful. I will be returning for sure in 2-3 weeks. I didn't give 5 stars as the parking lot had a lot of random people walking around, yelling at each other back and forth and I didn't feel so safe. There's a check in system on a tablet where you get to choose the service you want and beautician with the current wait time, which I thought was cool. I had no preference since this was my first time here so I chose whoever was the first available. There's a seating area to wait for your name to be called and which station to go to.
