Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. This place is amazing! What a great experience. We went for my birthday and had the best time. We ordered the fish sliders, the Brie grilled cheese, and the chicken salad sandwich. Every dish was fantastic, and we ended up ordering more of the grilled cheese and fish sliders because they were so delicious. Additionally, the servers were all very nice and knowledgeable. I ask a lot of questions about food and wine, and they were willing to answer every one and guide me through the wine selection. There were a few wines they didn't have detailed information about, so I would suggest a wine tasting for some of the newer servers to get them up to speed. The patio outside is cozy, and you feel like you're in a quaint spot in Greenwood. They have live music on the weekends, which adds to the charming atmosphere. The inside is multiple stories, and I'm not sure about the handicap access to the upper floors. With a lot of stairs, I would suggest looking into this before visiting if accessibility is a concern. Overall, Vino Villa offers quality food, excellent wine, and a wonderful place to spend time with friends, family, or loved ones. There was no one at the host stand when we entered, and we had to wait a few minutes to be seated. Very charming ambiance in what appears to be a century-old home. We got a table in what I assume was a bedroom at one time right up by the window, and we had the entire room to ourselves for most of our stay. They have a small wine shop downstairs and a good variety of wines available by the glass. The food was all very good. I absolutely loved the Mediterranean 7-layer dip! There was a bit of a wait for our food -- 20 minutes for 3 appetizers, but we had wine to sip on and weren't in a rush, so it was okay. They lose a star on the sangria, though. It's one of the worst I've ever had. A few years ago, I got really into using those 0-Calorie flavor things you squirt into water, and this sangria reminded me exactly of those. It was just slightly fruit-flavored water (and that was after I scooped out most of the ice). Our server was very friendly and welcoming. I love coming here and sitting on the patio in the evening when the weather's nice.There's often live music to listen to. The gazebo and string lights add to the special atmosphere. It's the perfect setting! There's a lot of wine to choose from, but my husband and I enjoy getting the Sangria. We shared both the Red Wine and Peach Sangria. The Peach is the summer flavor. It's l fruity, light and perfect for summer! Closer to fall, they have a Carmel Apple Sangria that is phenomenal! For food, we finally tried the Spinach and Artichoke Dip for our appetizer. My husband loves the lasagna so much, he gets it every time. It's the most perfect lasagna I've ever tasted. I like to switch things up and had the Mediterranean Steak Skewers. I've been enjoying coming here for the past few years. I finally got to bring my mom here as she lives in Georgia. We sat outside on the patio which is the best place to sit when visiting! Service was quick and our server was extremely lovely! We split a lobster and shrimp mac and a garden salad with the Greek vinaigrette. The lobster mac is pretty much the only item I get. We came here to have a glass of wine for our anniversary. Our server was super sweet! She shared her history with the location. This location use to be an old home that has been turned into a wine bar/restaurant. I thought it was pretty cool how the tables are in rooms upstairs. I was not expecting the set up for this restaurant when I walked in. You are greeted by a sign that says please seat yourself. We wandered around the lobby for a bit before realizing we had to find a seat upstairs. For starters we got the bread and spicy jam- it was decent, but definitely overpriced for what it was. We got the Manicotti and Lobster Mac and Cheese. The manicotti was phenomenal- so creamy and seasoned perfectly. The lobsters Mac and cheese was meh. It didn't taste seasoned, the sauce didn't stick to the noodles and it was rather bland. For dessert we tried the pumpkin cream cheese cake and it was GREAT! The menu was small but had a lot of great options, sadly for me there were not many lactose free options. I absolutely love this place, especially in the summer. Their outside patio is perfect for a summer evening with a nice acoustic show in the background, lights strung above, and plenty of room. Food was good till found black short hair on cranberry crestini. Then young man in sweat pant and shirt kept walking in and out of kitchen, he did not work there. That is probably where the hair came from. The chief had straight longer hair tied back and was very polite. Housed within an old residence, Vino Villa offers indoor seating, wine bar, and a shaded outdoor patio. They offer a tasty selection of appetizers, sandwiches, pizza, and of course dessert. And let's not forget the incredible wine list. Today, my husband and I split the Bruschetta as a starter. It was very good, but a little on the spicy side, which my husband loved. He then ordered the Prime Rub sandwich, while I had the Brie Grilled Cheese. The grilled cheese was amazing! First, I love that it wasn't huge, as I just wanted something small. Second, the bread is handmade with cranberries and walnuts. Every bite was pure enjoyment! Unfortunately, we didn't leave room for dessert, but the desserts looked amazing. The next time we stop in, I plan to save room for my sweet tooth. The staff is friendly, and the service is quick. We've talked about this place for years, and finally met to celebrate birthdays with wine and cheese! The weather was perfect to sit outside. Our server was attentive, although very busy. The outdoor chairs were comfortable. And our table accommodated three shared platters and a wine bucket! The more expensive Chardonnay was worth it ( we were ce k berating after all). We enjoyed bruschetta, spinach artichoke dip and antipasto. The only negatives: the bread was so crusty it was almost hard to eat. Inside an old victorian house, there is outside patio seating, porch seating, 2nd floor seating and a thrid floor wine bar with music. When you first walk into the "house" there is a wine shop. The food menu is small, but mighty. We had the focaccia appetizer, greek salad, and chicken picatta. We also both ordered a peach sangria. Everything was delicious and the staff were friendly. It's a cozy setting because it's in an actual house that's been renovated. Parking is a little tricky, but there is a public lot across the street that is usually available. We had bruschetta, and spinach artichoke dip, and spicy crab dip. Several of us ended up ordering dinner. I tried the rotating pasta. It was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. This is a cute place! However I have a few issues with this business. 1) The parking lot is in the back so therefore everyone enters from the back but they want people to check in upfront on the street side which means people need to awkwardly walk around the building in order to check in. This should be fixed by adding a hostess stand on the backside of the restaurant. 2) Once you get to the hostess stand inside there is no one there to greet you. I had to walk into the back wine sales area to get someone to seat me. The hostess stand should be manned at all times. 3) There is no non-alcoholic drink menu available. Please make one. 4) I didnt enjoy the view of the cars passing by while eating my food and this could be fixed by adding more foliage or fencing on the street side to help with the ambiance factor. 5) This place only has paper straws available. First let me say I really enjoyed our experience here this evening. We sat on the third floor, right by the live music. We made a reservation earlier in the day and were surprised we had such an awesome table. The service was great and the building/location was very unique. However, it doesn't seem as though this place is handicap accessible which is really unfortunate because everyone should be able to enjoy it. That said, it was raining tonight and chilly, so we didn't have the opportunity to sit outside but definitely will be returning to do so when it gets warmer! We started with a brie app, for our mains I had the pasta on rotation and added chicken and my husband had the meatballs, and we shared the lemon blueberry cake for dessert! The brie was a little sweet for our liking (between the raspberry jam and cinnamon sugar on the crostini). The meatballs were good and the pasta was good (the sauce was really rich for me so couldn't eat too much). The dessert and wine were the highlights! Frankly I wasn't overly impressed with the food but the wine and dessert was awesome! Everyone around us was getting dessert too and their choices looked awesome too! Next time I think we would come for a bottle of wine and dessert and to take in the ambiance of the place (because it's really awesome, especially with live music)! We will 100% be back! read more

This was my first visit to Vino Villa Bistro and Wine Bar. The restaurant is located in a beautifully renovated, historic three story house on Madison Avenue in Greenwood. Free parking is located behind the restaurant and you'll see the patio next to the building as you approach the front entrance. What I quickly found out is all seating is upstairs on the second and third floors. If you have mobility issues keep this in mind as patio seating, weather permitting, is the only dining area without stairs. They don't have a traditional bar setup but bar seating (21+) is located on the 3rd floor and open when the weather isn't conducive for the outdoor patio. My friend and I were warmly greeted as we entered and taken directly to a cozy dining room on the second floor. Our server was prompt, friendly, answered questions, removed dirty dishes quickly and never rushed us. They offer over 20 plus wines that change daily along with local craft beers from Oaken Barrel, Sun King and Upland with rotating draft taps. My friend tried both flavors of Sangria and enjoyed both. The Menu offers amazing Sharableable Appetizers, delicious Salads (add steak, chicken or mahi-mahi $5), many Sandwiches (Lobster Roll, Brie Grilled Cheese, Chicken Salad, Stuffed Portobello Mushroom and Prime Rib are a few). 10" Pizzas are made on a homemade crust and gluten free crust is available on any of the 5 pizzas. Entrees all sound delicious with Lobster Mac n' Cheese, Meatballs, Lasagna and Rotating Pasta (dinner only) to name a few. We shared the delicious Spicy Crab Dip with lump crabmeat in a creamy dip blended with melted cheeses, garlic and spices served with warm garlic bread and crostini. It was wonderful and we both could have probably eaten another, it was that good. I forgot to take a picture as we drove right in. My friend had the Caprese Salad topped with the blackened mahi-mahi. The salad ingredients were fresh plus the mahi-mahi was tender and seasoned well. I decided to have an appetizer as my lunch instead of a sandwich or entree. I had the Baked Brie served with raspberry preserves and their cranberry maple walnut crostini's. The brie was hot and creamy plus incredible on their special crostini. The only reason I didn't rate as a 5 star is the stair issue. I have difficulty with stairs and a true fear of falling; otherwise, I would have rated a 5. This was a tough one to give 3 stars to as I love the concept and the food is good! I love that this restaurant is in an old house and you eat in the refurbished rooms. The "date night" special was also very fairly priced and made for a great meal. I did find the filet a bit under seasoned, but the lobster was great. The stars being lost come with the tables being really close together and the server we had. She was not very attentive and forgot to even ask us how we wanted the steak cooked (luckily came out about medium rare as I would want it anyways), she also did not as about our dessert choice someone just brought one, and at first has double charged us on the bill. This must be a very bad place to work. The server and the hostess that sat us had very sad and unhappy looks on their faces. Never smiled, never introduced herself. Asked if tea was fresh brewed, it was clearly not - tasted like store bought Gold Peak. When ordering the Caesar's salad we asked how the chicken was prepared and waitress said grilled. Well the salad came out in a small bowl with cold (not grilled) rubbery tasteless chicken. I questioned the waitress - she didn't care. We asked for lemons- no lemons. Mahi sliders were ok, bruschetta tasted spoiled. A few years ago I said I'd never come back, but I was in the area and thought maybe things were better. I was wrong! It's worse than last time. More than the food, it's the cold unfriendly staff that made us feel unwelcome. Table beside us said the same thing. Lastly, the young girl / hostess who looked miserable was dressed like she was going to the beach - nothing about this place says class, care or customer service. The food or service is not the reason to come here. Must be the wine that draws people in. We'll never be back. read more
