Love this place! The decor, the red sangria, the LP's playing.. The crispy chicken mango tacos are fabulous!

They won't serve kids or indeed anyone under 21. Might have been nice if they'd warned us on the website before we made the detour off I-94.

Get the pork belly and shrimp tacos. They serve a dipping sauce that is the remain juice of the pork belly that is slow cooked. So good. Guac is average. Chips are good too. Cool atmosphere inside. read more

Very cool place. They spin old vinyl classic rock records-- loud and cool. Think Hard Rock Café only it is, thankfully, not corporate. The taco's were super yummy. I got a very cool sweatshirt to bring back to my honey--- TA/CO in AC/DC font. The service, on the other hand, meh. Slow, which can be understood by itself without the lackadaisical attitude. And she didn't even know how much the sweatshirts were. She said "I don't know".... pause....... wait...... wait...... awkward silence........ UM, Can you find out??, I would like to buy one if it's not 50 bucks". Other than that, we liked the place. read more

They weren't allowed to put chorizo in my taco. They over fill your taco so that the filling falls out and all they give you is this tiny container to catch it in! I wanted to be able to enjoy all the ingredients in each bite. read more

Love the tacos! Small plates with small prices so I can eat ten of them. Fun atmosphere with a couple of turntables that provide the music that is a great selection of classic rock. Limited tap selection (not what they are trying to be) but a great selection of scotch, whisky, and tequilas. Check it out. Gotta have more cowbell! read more

We had a few hours to hang out so we sat at a table and drank some beers. Good beer selection on tap and bottled. Tess was our server- she was super friendly and helpful. She was fine with us hanging out for a while not ordering. Eventually the food sounded too good to pass up so I ordered a fish taco and a side cobb salad- both were great with nicely flavored sauce and fresh veggies. I liked being able to order tacos singly. Amount was perfect for a late afternoon meal. Hubby had the chimichanga- had a tomatillo sauce that he wasn't crazy about. The atmosphere and mellow staff were nice and relaxing. Vinyl taco is one of those places you go for a special occasion. The margaritas are delicious but a little pricey. The tacos are gourmet but also pretty pricey. Be prepared to spend around $20 for a couple of tacos and margarita depending on if they don't have specials. read more

I use to love Vinyl Taco but not quite as much after my last visit. The deals for national tequila day were not really good deals at all, and it was something they were proud to promote. I kept drinking my margarita hoping there would be tequila at the bottom but I'm pretty sure it was all sugar water. Chips were also extremely salty. If they took some margarita tips from Rojo Mexican grill in Minneapolis I would go back! On the plus side the guacamole was great read more

While I've been to better taco joints (sorry Fargo but you can't compete with Cali...), Vinyl Taco is definitely a good choice. Fish tacos and Agridulce were delicious and the Horchata was a nice, non-alcoholic beverage. I think the whole "vinyl" aspect is overplayed (they spin records... big whoop. They should have a live DJ spinning tunes, taking requests, etc.) but it's a great way to get a "taco fix" in Fargo. read more

Came here on a Friday the 25th for a music gig so me and my crew went to grab a bite to eat to kill time. Coming from a big city of Chicago I honestly thought I wasn't going to be impressed with the food but I was wrong. I ordered the Veggie and Fish Specialty taco and thought they were both very great in flavors. The server "NELLY" suggested to grab some chips and salsa so we did. The chips were great! Nelly also broke our tab into 4 bills which is kind of unheard in Chicago. What great service! If I ever get a chance to come back to Fargo I would definitely hit this place back up. P.S. Just stopped here on our way through town. We were worried about finding a spot that would let us sit on the patio with our dog, but this place was great. The waiter immediately brought us water and a little paper bowl for our pup! We ordered drinks-- the top shelf margarita was awesome and the IPA on tap was on point. When Barbacoa was in town then I would enjoy taco Tuesday there. Vinyl taco was delicious and the atmosphere was great but the service compared to other Fargo restaurants wasn't as great. I went when it was busy at night on the weekend so it's understandable and will try again during the weekday. read more

The name does not blend nor does the food or price. The name does tell you everything though not worth a stop or your hard earned money. Too many other good spots to spend time and money at. So I guess iff you are in need of vinyl records spinning stop by? To bad they don't sell those? I though it was a food spot! That why I stopped. Very disappointed. It's not too good at that so as long as you know which of the two names you will experience and enjoy then give it a try. I had all I heard on my I Phone and a better sound? Tacos a big disappointment. Enchiladas only alright. My rice was cold black beans weak! I know I'm spoiled living and traveling through south and southwest. Pleasantly surprised to find a good taco here in Fargo. The place was packed on a Saturday night and we lucked out with the only available table. Our waitress Danell aka "Nelly" was friendly & quick to help us. Upon our request for something spicy, Nelly suggested the chicken tinja which was excellent. I also tried the vegetarian & fish taco which were very good as well. The Carne Asada meat was not the thin strips I was use to, (which tasted more like stew meat to me), but my husband chowed them down. Coming from California we didn't expect too much from a Midwestern taco serving establishment but this was a treat. I have tried several places here in town and the salsa is the most authentic tasting one I have had since my move here 6 months ago. Great selection of music played on vinyl which the bartenders took turn throwing on. Atmosphere was really good. The only thing about this experience that was hard to get past was spending $3+ for a single taco when they're $1 a piece back home, but lets face it, we aren't in California any more. It may not be Grandma's 100% authentic, but it is THEE place I will be returning to for tacos from now on. read more

My niece isn't even 5 months old and she has been kicked out of a "bar" (shocked us- it looked like a trendy, fun restaurant). This place takes it U-21 policy VERY seriously. Four of us adults, accompanied by the baby, were looking for a lunch spot on 4th of July (read: very quiet- the whole town was at the lake) and this place looked great. We were refused at the door because the infant sleeping in her carrier wasn't welcome. Slightly offensive, slightly hilarious, but all the way - we won't be back. read more

When this restaurant first opened, I really enjoyed eating here. However, it has consistently disappointed when I've gone over the past year.
