In a pinch, I desperately needed a dress dry cleaned within 48hours. I've never gotten anything dry cleaned before so wasn't sure of the process, and felt extremely safe with the women at VIP cleaners and laundry. They walked me through the process, the pricing, what needed to be cleaned, and made sure to prioritize my cleaning so that I would be able to pick it up next day. I told them I just needed it by the day of the event and they reassured me that they would not make me wait until the day of to get my garment, and that it would be ready the day before. VIP Cleaners does good work in both laundry and dry cleaning. They have a repair person on the premises who can sew, hem, and fix problems customers bring in. They have a sign out front that says they will clean for free clothes needed by down and out people who are going to job interviews. If they actually follow through with that promise, their presence is a force for good in the community. Their prices are a little higher than I used to pay, but I am quite happy with them. read more

I have been doing business with "dry cleaning to your door". Somehow their excellent service turned into VIP Cleaners. I used to get texts about schedule changes that affect when you clothes get picked up and returned. No more, you have to check the app to be confident of when you will get your clothing. They have also taken to billing us several days before the clothing is returned. I was billed two days ago for clothes that still haven't been returned. They say Memorial Day impacted their schedule, but apparently that doesn't apply to charging your credit card. read more

I used to use home pick up service from this company- they are effecient with pick up and drop off, but not at dry cleaning. They shrunk 3 cashemere sweaters of mine and a very expensive Mackage coat. They shrunk the arms down so short and narrow that I can't slide my arms through. I asked them 3 times if they could help me out with the situation (I read on line that maybe the dry cleaner could try to stretch the wool), including in writing but they ignored all of my requests. I've sent many items back to them for "re-do's" because they didn't come back clean. After they shrunk my expensive coat I stopped using them completely. read more

If you go here, there's a real risk they will (a) wreck your clothes or (b) completely mangle it beyond repair. We spent $200+ for them to mangle $500+ of irreplaceable silk kimonos/haoris beyond repair and wasted hours of our time in travel and trying to undo a fraction of their damage -- not to mention the anxiety and stress throughout the process. Out of 13 garments (all 100% silk kimonos and haoris), 8 were damaged to varying degrees including frayed/pulled threads, torn stitching, scorch marks, ripped seams, and one garment had a completely torn sleeve and collar. In addition, they fuse barcode stickers to each item -- not only was this not disclosed ahead of time, the stickers are permanent. Once we got home and realized the damage, I called the shop to ask about the stickers and the conversation with one of the ladies went as follows: Me: "Hi, we just picked up some garments and noticed that there are barcode stickers that seem to be permanently fused to the fabric?" Employee: "They're not permanent." Me: "They've definitely been fused to the fabric." Employee: "They're not permanent." Me: "Ok, is there a way to take them off?" Employee: "Same way we put them on." Me: "(after waiting for elaboration)... And how is that? Heat?" Employee: "Yes." As I only ever got a few words in response from her at a time, I had to answer my own question by going through a list of items I could potentially use, and finally when I asked if a home iron would be able to remove the stickers, she said yes. But this was a lie, the iron did nothing. After 1.5hrs of painstakingly slow and careful peeling, we were able to remove only half of the stickers (forcing the rest would have damaged the delicate silk). Distressed, we brought the damaged garments back to the shop to see if they could at least remove the stickers and to show them the mangled haori that was literally falling apart. Their first response was to lie again, saying that the garment had already been damaged. That was not true. We have pictures. The two ladies were talking over each other trying to form a half-baked lie and shift the blame onto us, suggesting that they had flagged the issue at intake -- another lie. The owner then stepped in and was at least more courteous, but he tried to sell us a different lie that the damage was because the garment was old and would simply fall apart with a little force. He then proceeded to try and prove his point by TEARING THE ALREADY TORN SLEEVE until it was literally hanging on by a few threads. And those barcode stickers? They have a special machine to heat fuse them on. So no, a home iron would never have gotten the stickers off unless maybe we burned the silk to a crisp. There was no apology, no accountability, and no compensation offered. They only offered to remove the stickers, to which we were very transparent about expressing our fears that they would cause further damage because silk is not meant to tolerate that kind of heat -- which they should have known as "professionals". They assured us that they could remove the stickers without damage. We told them that if they couldn't do it, just let us know as we didn't want them to damage our garments any further. After a night of lost sleep, dreading how else they could wreck our garments, we came back the next day. Not only is there still the permanently fused adhesive on every single one, there are brand new scorch marks, newly torn collars and ripped seams on items that have only been worn once. The lady at the counter just stared at us and lied -- again --saying that those were already there. Go anywhere else but here. If you bring something here, you might get it back in two pieces. If you have an issue and make the mistake of trusting them to fix it, they may hand it back in even worse condition than before. And just a mental exercise: 1. You give someone an item to clean and they break it 2. You state the issue and they are clearly unhappy, dismissive, and reluctantly offer to fix a small part 3. You come back, and magically there is more damage in areas that should not have been affected by the "fix". Not only that, the tears are located in places that would be very easy to tear if, say, a disgruntled employee decided to have a tantrum and yank on the garment read more

Brought in a wool dress - when I got it back, there was white residue in the armpits - clearly where they tried to clean but encountered complications with deodorant chemistry and didn't have the knowledge to handle this basic situation. When I brought it back, rather than apologize and offer to remediate, the girl actually picked at the fabric and then tried to tell me, 'Its the fabric.' When I didn't accept that explanation she went back and got a man to come out who started telling me, 'If you ask AI about it ...' Clearly these people do not know how to clean garments and are googling/AI -ing their way through their profession. I will never entrust my garments to their care ever again. read more
