I am filing a civil suit and a police report for felony theft. Stay away from this place!!! They are irresponsible, rude, and completely unconcerned with lost clothing. We are filing a police report today and filing in court on Monday for furs we purchased at over $30,000. We placed three fur coats whose total purchase prices are in excess of $30,000 in storage with VIP last spring. One silver blue fox, one sheared mink and one Fendi mink. We called two weeks ago to have the coats taken out of storage.They said they would be ready in one week. Last week, we went to pick up the coats. Cesar at the front desk said the number on the claim check were not in his computer (!) We said "Are these your claim checks?" He said yes, but the numbers are not in the computer. He looked at us like he had answered our questions. We were amazed. "Where are they?" "I don't know". Stares at us. "Who does know?" "Maybe my boss." "What is his name" "Mr Han" "Where is your Boss?" "At the factory" "What is his number?" "I will call him. I will give him your number. I can't do nothing" That was a week ago. Since that time we have received no call and no communication. We have stopped by three times and each time Cesar is at the front desk. He is rude, unconcerned and flippant. He says he can or will not do anything but he will "ask Mr Han to call us". Today I called him again and he said, again, that Mr Han would call me. I asked for Mr Han's number. He refused to give it to me. Then he hung up on me. I have tried to work with Cesar, Far from quality service, he is arrogantly rude, unresponsive and disrespectful. Mr Han, if he really exists, is an absentee manager . He has made no effort to contact us. I would expect some concern and embarrassment if they had only lost a shirt. The complete lack of responsibility and concern they are showing for a loss of this magnitude is staggering. I will update this post when I hear from the invisible Mr Han, and as my police report and lawsuit progress. In the meantime I suggest you stay away. read more

I choose this place because the reviews were good, even though there were several other places closer to home. I left seven items for which the bill was nearly $100. They said it would take four days. I asked it if could be done sooner. He said yes, 2 days. When I came to pick up my items, I happened to look them over. They were still visibly dirty. When I pointed it out, he blamed the dirt on the quicker turnaround. You should know that you can't expect this dry cleaner to actually clean your clothes. For them, it is acceptable to pass them off as clean by being neatly folded/hung under plastic...so they hope you don't notice. Beware. read more

Ok, this place is AMAZING. My review is for tailoring specifically. I bought a floor-length dress for a black tie wedding that fit well, but needed to be hemmed and also taken up a bit in the shoulders -- nothing major, but was still nervous about someone I didn't know (I had never been to a tailor in NYC before) cutting into the dress. I tried on the dress, the tailor made suggestions and placed pins that seemed great and that would work -- and she was very nice! -- but, when she said the price to get it done would be $65, I was a little freaked out. $65 seemed like a lot when the dress was only $100. But, it needed to be done so I went with it. Not only were the alterations completed within the given time frame (5 days!), they were AMAZING. This tailor did a fantastic job and I am thrilled. Literally seamless. The dress doesn't even look altered, it looks like it was custom made -- not an errant stitch or weird pulls or anything. 100% worth the money (which actually, I now know isn't that much for a formal dress alteration!). I could not be happier with the results and will go to this tailor any time I need something altered. I highly, highly recommend them. read more

I used this cleaner when I lived nearby. They lost a batch of shirts once in two and a half years and compensated me for them. Otherwise my wash and fold laundry has always been clean and neatly folded and shirts have been clean, hung, and bagged as expected. I had them patch clothing a couple of times, and the results were satisfactory. If I still lived here, I would continue to use them for the foreseeable future. read more

Charged $18 to get my clothes back dirty and wrinkled beyond anything even the iron could help with. I will never use this overpriced cleaner again. And cleaner is creative licensing. They didn't clean anything. My clothes just came back smelling nice, but there were stains even a quick hand wash would have removed. read more

I have used this cleaner for wash and fold for the last 5 years or so, it was fine, nothing special. However, I won't be using them anymore. I picked up my laundry, opened the plastic bag they wrap it in and found a baby cockroach . I'll be using a different cleaners from now on! read more

The worst thing about this place is that you could go years thinking they're great. I certainly did. I've lived in the neighborhood -- 4 blocks away from VIP Cleaners -- for 9 years. I went here for tailoring, special dry cleaning, anything of value, because I thought they were trustworthy and a higher end alternative to my regular laundromat. And all will go well for you -- until they ruin something. Then you are screwed. Late 2016, they ruined a $1000 leather jacket of mine with their cleaning process (the jacket, only two years old, went from soft buttery leather to rough and peeling). I went in multiple times to address this and request payment for the damage, and they wouldn't so much as refund the cleaning fee. I've never laid eyes on the mysterious "owner," who seems to be nameless -- this is likely by design, so he can't be tracked down when people who've had their things ruined come to find him. I went to small claims court and won the judgment with an arbitrator after the owner failed to show up. The mystery "owner" has refused to address the debt (per the guy at the desk who claims to speak with him). He legally owes me for the jacket they destroyed, and this shady business owner is running away from his obligations. I'm forced to jump through hoops to find him, but I will find him. I can take comfort in the fact that all the neighbors with whom I've shared this story, particularly on nextdoor.com, were thankful to know there's a disreputable business in the neighborhood and will know to avoid them at all costs. There are other cleaners in this neighborhood that carry themselves with esteem and professionalism. This one is characterized by dishonor and cowardice. Stay far, far away from this fraudulent business. read more

At the beginning of the month I brought there 6 men's shirts to be washed. Only weeks later I opened the package of cleaned shirts and realized that I got back only 5 shirts. I realize that it's my fault for not checking any earlier but still went back to the dry cleaning to ask if they found any shirt. I was really polite but the woman at the desk (who never smiled at me once since I started bringing my business there) attacked me telling me I should have checked at the time of pick up. Really??!? ..I was upset enough without any comments on her side! She wasn't helpful at all. It was even hard for her to check whether anybody had found my shirt. Moral of the story: always check when you get back your clothes or you might end up loosing the nicer tailor made shirt ($250) you own.... read more

Love these folks. They not only do a great job on all of my stuff, but they are honest, friendly and even care enough to learn your name. There are other cleaners who might be a few blocks closer to where I live, but none can beat the service and prices of VIP Cleaners and Tailor. They have a loyal customer in me. read more

I have never felt the need to write a review (good or bad) until now. I chose this dry cleaners as I recently moved to the area and saw it had such great reviews. However, I am extremely dissapointed in the quality of this dry cleaners. I received a silk blouse back in the same condition (or worse) as I had initially sent it. They clearly did not even attempt to press the shirt. It was extremely wrinkled and clearly was not even looked at twice. Comical that I had to pay almost $8 for this supposed dry cleaning. I would go back in and complain to the dry cleaners but I do not even want to waste my time and energy. I won't be going back there. Very good tailor, and fair. The tailor is very friendly and offers good advice when your clothing doesn't fit right. For example, I thought some pants were too spacious in the thigh, but when I tried them on, she was able to spot that it was too spacious in the lower back. I appreciate her honesty. All of my clothes were perfect after tailoring, except one pair of pants. She tightened that pair again, free of charge. Also, everything was ready on time, and my pants were ironed and cleaned on top of being tailored. Great service. read more

I ripped a leather jacket and was heartbroken, it has a lot of sentimental and monetary value and it looked like it was beyond repair. I was about to give it a mental memorial and move on when a friend, who picked up on my distress, recommended this tailor. I went for it thinking, it really couldn't be worse. Imagine my relief when the tailor said that it could be patched up and revived. I was skeptical but went for it, a week later, I was floored. The rip was barely noticeable and was expertly mended, worth every penny. I will be recommending this place in the future for all leather or non leather tailoring needs. read more

FINALLY! A dry cleaner with great service, super fast turn-around & they even pick up/drop off at your apartment if you live in the area (UWS). Best of all, THEY DON'T SHRINK MY CLOTHES! You wouldn't think that'd be hard to find in this city but apparently it can be (and I spend way more than I should on clothes & am picky so yeah, really pleased). Haven't used the tailoring service yet but suspect they'll do a good job. VIP service, without the price tag. Amen. read more
