My nails are uneven and I have acrylics which even though my nails were done a couple of days ago look like they've been done a week ago from new growth. Within only a week 2 of my nails completely fell off from a full set, first one fell off within 3 days. Another one of my nails chipped within a few days and I had to cut it down. I also asked for a simple checkered design and they did it alright but the color looked really uneven. Overall it was super pricy and I've gotten better nails done almost everywhere else I've gone. no plans to return. read more

Unfortunately I have to update my review after my most recent no-chip mani here. After only 8 days, my polish started to chip and break, and now my nails look like crap. They're also SO thin and weak because they were filed and buffed too much. My technician also used a different color than I asked for, and I didn't realize until it was already too late, and I didn't have the time to sit there while she did them all over again. I asked her if there is a standard amount for a no chip upgrade and she proceeded to tell me she just makes appointments and does not know. Probably the worse no chip mani & pedi I have ever received. My nails shape is uneven and the polish is very chunky. My pedicure was rushed and definitely needed more than two coats because the color is so light. The man who did my nails was very nice & I appreciate all the extra steps who took to pamper me (reason for 2 stars) however, the nails are just not good. Go elsewhere. Ok I am not the one to leave reviews. Esp negative. But I need to call out the disappointment that happened today. My manicurist was smiley and chatty - which is the only reason why I'm giving it two stars. Hurried job is an understatement. It's like she had a train to catch. She finished my no-chip mani and spa pedicure in flat 55 mins. TOTAL!!!! I told her multiple times to slow down and scrub out my heels. I am ticklish, but it's not my first rodeo. I've had people spend a good 35 mins on my feet - powering through the squirm. She was done with the ENTIRE pedicure in 22 mins. How is that possible??? Barely scraped the surface of a leg massage. And then I asked her if they have neck and shoulder massage (which they've done in the past) and she looked taken aback. They even stopped the freebies of take home lotion (which isn't a deal breaker, just an observation). But when you're charging $75 for a no chip + pedicure, atleast pretend like you want to give service. Even the hand massage for 2 mins long. She didn't ask me wash my hands or any of the normal things I've experienced in the past. I've typically spent 1.5 to 2 hrs for these two services. I was in and out in 59 mins, including payment and being asked to wait while she fills the tub etc. I will definitely not be returning. And will encourage others to avoid this place too. Note to management: Please shut down on time and give your people some personal time. They're clearly in a major rush to be done and get home. read more

They offer special foot bath, but I went with the regular and the process was very standard. I did wish someone asked me if I wanted my message chair to be turned on. After the pedicure they lead me to the pedicure station. I had really short nails at the time from stress picking because my wedding was coming up. So I went with acrylics. Found this place on Yelp as I am in town for work. My feet are soooo tired and this spa pedicure IS THE BEST! Warm water, deep massage, and this hot towel wrap made my day. The massage chair is still on while having this too; other places in LA would stop it because it shakes your body or something. Got a gel mani too and she topped it off with the most wonderful shoulder massage. It looked a quite intimidating at first because the interiors looked squeky clean on the photos -- and it is! I went to VIP Nails and got a spa pedi and no chip mani on Thursday, Sept. 9. I selected a beautiful deep pink #212. The service from my technician was very good. The problem occurred four days later when I noticed the my no chip was discolored and faded. I called the salon and was told I could come back in and get them redone. When I arrived a different nail tech began filing off the remaining color on my nails. I asked her to remove the no chip the normal way (putting cotton with polish remover on nails and wrapping in foil) because I wanted the faulty no chip completely removed from my nails. She refused to do it. She wanted to instead file off the color and add another no chip polish over the remaining bad no chip polish still on my nails. I then asked if I could get a regular (and cheaper) manicure instead. She said she would have to charge me $19 for the manicure because she could only give me the same service for free. So I paid for a much more expensive no chip that faded, yet I was not allowed to get a $19 mani as a replacement for the faulty no chip. What sense does that make? Needless to say, I was not going to get another layer of no chip over the bad polish. So, I asked them to just remove the no chip (with the foil and polish remover) and don't polish them at all. I spent $91 plus a very generous tip, for what I expected to be an amazing experience. Again, the pedi was good, but nit the no chip. Unfortunately, I will not return to this nail salon because of their poor customer service in responding to this issue. read more

Terrible service. Even worse attitudes. Left without finishing my service because I could not tolerate the girl's attitudes. I was going to leave it at this but I'll further explain because the below comment is not true. This was the main person who works in the salon with the attitude who has commented below beware. My nails were completely wrong and NOTHING like the picture I showed. I asked the lady to fix them, she couldn't. She did not have the skills to fix them (a simple French nail) which she should've told me before she messed them up. I told her she could paint them a regular color and I would pay the difference for the gel up-charge. After she removes the paint from my nails she says ok can you pay for a polish change and the difference for the gel color. If my polish was never done, why would I be paying for a polish change? Also, if there was an additional cost associated with getting my nails, that you ruined, fixed then why not tell me that upfront. After she took the polish off and spoke in a different language for a few seconds there was another cost associated with her fixing my nails. Usually nail shops have some sort of class after they ruin your nails and redo them for free. This place, however, wanted to ruin my nails and have me pay for an additional service. When I tried to explain that, the person who has since commented below got very confrontational. This is when I decided to leave because it honestly just isn't worth it to have to fight with a nail technician in front of other customers for a service you already paid for. Super unprofessional environment. Definitely will not step foot in here again. If you're traveling or passing through the neighborhood don't waste your time. Go somewhere with better talent and better professionalism. read more

The pedicure I was given was actually decent but the customer service was terrible and the atmosphere uncomfortable to say the least. When I got there my coat was hung up for me which I thought was really nice and service went on as normal. However, when I was placed in the drying station the nail tech immediately asked if I wanted to pay and I told her that my wallet was in my coat (that they hung up) so I'd pay at the end when my toes were dry and I got back my coat. She said no problem but made a slightly displeased expression. About 15 minutes later the nail tech sent the receptionist to ask me to pay. I gave her the same response I gave the nail tech and she paused, stared at me with a blank face, and said okay. I then saw her walk over to tell the nail tech and they kept periodically staring at me. No one spoke to me for an hour so I wasn't even sure if I was in the clear to put my socks and shoes back on. I felt extremely uncomfortable and after realizing no one would speak to me I asked another tech if I was done and I was given the clear. As I walked up to the register I was given looks. When I got my total I let the receptionist know that I was still going to tip even though I felt extremely uncomfortable due to the nasty stares and refusal to speak to me after telling them they had my coat and wallet. The nail techs were listening in but didn't say anything and the nail tech avoided eye contact with me and said nothing. I've had other girls at VIP who do great but she is my favorite :) The establishment is very clean, there are many polish colors and polish brand options, they play nice and current music, and I actually really like the layout of the room. This nail salon is one of the best options I have found in the South Loop! I am a big fan of a dipping powder manicure and it can be hard to find a salon that has technicians who are experienced with dipping. They also have lots of color options. My most recent manicure I tried color changing dipping polish. I was a little disappointed that it made my nails extremely thick. I decided to try them again- I went back for another manicure and explained I wasn't really happy with the previous one. They were very apologetic and made sure I was happy with my manicure this time around. Quiet and clean atmosphere! Very professional. I will keep going back. read more

This establishment is incredible! I had a regular pedicure and a polish change. Kylie and Leah worked on me and my nails have never looked so good and were done so fast while maintains the same level of quality as if it took an hour. It was probably better to be honest. I chose bright red and the technicians didn't even have to correct as they painted. I'm nothing short of amazed.
