I've been coming to VIP smog for years now. It is a very efficient and quick service. I've never had any issues and haven't had to wait too long. I would recommend coming early as the parking area gets packed quickly with all the other businesses around it. You don't have to make an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome. The owner is super nice and even helps me put my registration sticker on every time. Website states: "VIP SMOG is a STAR Smog Check Station". They are NOT. Their Star certification expired. I made a special trip there because I need a Star location. They are not close to me. I did not appreciate the wasted time. I had to go home and do a computer search for a new facility. I also wasted time printing out their coupon. read more

These guys are great, even though I am disappointed about the STAR certification not being completed and having to wait until January when the next recertification date is, they still do a great job with fixing vehicles. I am glad I had the good sense to call ahead to make sure they were not too busy and available for my car, they told me then that if I needed a STAR test they were not certified as of right now. They can still work on my car as promised but not to run my STAR certification afterwards. read more

My car registration renewal was up and required I get a smog check this time around so I took my car here for the first time yesterday. It was absolutely painless! Sure, I had to wait 10-15 minutes as there were two customers ahead of me but the owner works quickly and is also very friendly. He just does smog check only, no repairs as far as I know though there did appear to be an auto shop right next door. Perhaps the two businesses are related, I don't know. The place is a bit tough to spot from Jackson Road as it's in a little industrial complex surrounded by a tall fence with a very narrow gate. I drove past 2 or 3 times before realizing the place I was looking for was behind that fence. If you see the sign on the front of one of the buildings that says "Pebbles Cabinets", you're at the right place. I highly recommend it. Cost was a flat $50. read more

This was my first time at VIP and wow, I am so happy to have found it! The owner was so friendly and kind and efficient, it felt like I had barely sat down and my car was done already. The service felt really personal, which was so nice. I also really loved the beautiful and comfortable waiting room. The many plants and the TV playing beautiful nature videos was a wonderful almost spa-like surprise. Everything was very clean and well cared for, inside the shop and out. Usually smog check places are a kind of depressing place for me to go, as they are usually not that clean, not overly friendly, and more of a necessary chore. I found out the owner has had the business for over 20 years and that means a lot to me. I'm so happy to support this local business in the future and this is a place I'm telling everyone I know about as well. I was looking for a SMOG Test station near our home and found this one on Yelp. Arriving just before 10:00 AM, the opening time, one other customer was waiting. The gentleman in charge arrived right on time. He was most courteous and professional. We waited in a clean, comfortable waiting area which had air conditioning. I was prepared to wait most of my morning. However, the first customer was done and gone in under 15 minutes. Our car was also tested in under 15 minutes. Decided to come to this place as its by where I live. I pulled up and was greeted right away. This is first year that my car needed to be smogged so I'm clueless to all this. The guys that helped me was very helpful. He told me to wait in the waiting room while he's finishing up with another customer. The waiting room is very run down. Too stuffy and pretty dirty but good enough to stay and wait. This whole experience took about 20 mins and $50. Not sure if that an average price or not but it gets the job done. I would come back here again next year if I still live in the area. read more

Very fast and efficient. When I had an issue with my catalytic converter he told me the process in which I needed to fix the problem. He is thorough and professional. I pass this place every day on my way to and from work, so I was happy to see a high Yelp rating and to know I could pay my overdue registration with them. The first day I got there at 5:11 pm. They were closed. The next time, last Saturday, I got there at little after noon. Closed again. Both times were within the business hours posted here, so I was disappointed and inconvenienced. I can't say anything about the actual services as I ended going somewhere else and getting everything taken care of. Two stars for not paying better attention to their social media presence and advertised hours. read more

Went here for the first time yesterday. Service was very quick, he was finishing up one customer then I was next. HUGE bonus: After your smog test is done you can pay your registration there as well and you get your new tags. I didnt have to go to the DMV!
