An absolutely great experience. This is a very small shop, they are right next-door to the Chevron/Baskin-Robbins on Folsom Boulevard, just west of Mather Field Road. I had a Groupon, and I showed up on a Friday about an hour before closing. As I mentioned, it is a small shop, so they can only do one car at a time. There were like three or four people waiting, so I said I would just come back first thing in the morning. I came back at opening time, and got right in. I was helped by Godfrey. Very professional, very personable, very friendly. We chatted a bit as he was doing the paperwork. My car goes in for the smog check, and unfortunately, it didn't pass. I had just changed the battery yesterday, and that had basically "rebooted" the Car's computer. He said I needed to drive the car about 50 miles or so, to bring the computer back to where it needed to be, so that it would pass the test. I drove 45 miles "up the hill" to Pollock Pines to look at all of the pretty brand, new snow, and then brought the car back. This time, it passed with flying colors. We finished the paperwork and I was out the door. This was a very good shop, everybody was professional, and friendly, I would come here for a smog check again. Thank you. read more

Don't go anywhere else. This is your smog shop The owner helped me figure out the failing issues with my 20yr old car. Like having to go through a specific drive cycle the BMW requires so the sensors can get the data they need. Ended up being a stuck thermostat. After had it replaced it passed smog no problem. My check-in at the counter was quick and efficient, and my smog test took about 35 minutes because a couple of other customers were already in the lobby ahead of me. Upon checking out, I had the pleasure of meeting Godfrey, the owner, who was exceptionally helpful and personable. He made the transaction easier by accepting my multiple payment methods. I genuinely enjoyed a conversation with him, when I mentioned I was looking for work, Godfrey shared valuable career advice and took a real interest in my background, even offering helpful pointers since we had similar college degrees (he holds a master's). Is it possible to have an AMAZING smog experience - turns out, YES!!! I wish it was possible to give 110 stars. Phenomenal customer service, the gentlemen at the register was so polite, helpful & I enjoyed my conversation with him. The mechanic who I spoke with (shortly) was also very polite, something under the hood was disconnected & he asked my permission to re-attach it. On top of wonderful customer service (pricing on the low end of smog's as well), I skipped coffee this morning, regretted it and hallelujah - they had decaf for the keurig in the lobby! 110 stars - thank you so much! read more

This location is under new management as of June 2025 and the new owner is very personable, professional and understands good customer service! Their pricing is fair and lobby is clean. Their location is a bit hard to find, but it's directly next to Chevron once you enter the lot! I'd definitely use these guys anytime you need a SMOG test done! read more

This guy is extremely rude. I've dealt with him twice, and both times, he was rushing me and in a hurry. The way he speaks with people is extremely rude, and there's several smog places right up the street that aren't unprofessional like this horrible business owner. I would drive for an hour to not have to deal with this guy. He also charges significantly more than other places in the area. The facility is extremely dirty on the inside. You feel like it's infested with roaches and like he lives out of the back of the shop. He seems really miserable and like he wants you to be just as miserable.
