My husband and I ordered through door dash for pick up today. We got one chicken pad thai, panang curry beef and a side order of brown rice. The pad thai lacked a lot of ingredients. I'm use to pad Thai with carrots, cabbage, Thai sweet preserved radish, sprouts, the works. This pad thai was very light orange and had nothing but noodles and chicken with a little bit of granulated peanuts. The panang curry was mostly sauce and only had a little bit of beef and the side order of brown rice was in a small box that wasn't even filled up. For almost $40.00 this was definitely not worth it. My experience started off poorly before we were even seated. When we arrived, the host/server greeted us by saying, "How can we help you?" and immediately followed it with, "You know we close in an hour." There was still a full hour left before closing, but the tone came across as if we were an inconvenience for wanting to dine there. Staff were very welcoming and we were seated very quickly on a Saturday. Service was prompt and attentive. I ended up trying the sweet and spicy chicken. It ended up being surprisingly good. Chicken was crispy and not overly drenched in sauce. The texture of the chicken felt slightly overcooked. The vegetables were fresh and still had a nice bite to them which I enjoyed. I was worried it might be too salty, but it was balanced right. If you are looking for dessert after your meal it is conveniently located right next to a Coldstone. Then we shared the beef noodles and green curry with salmon both good but for medium spicy wasn't hot enough so next time we would need to go a little spicier. This food just isn't as good when it's eaten later, as you have to rewarm it as it cools off fast especially in cold weather. For pickup I got something vegetarian friendly. This was the Yaki Udon Noodles With Tofu. It's $10.95 for the only size, the large. This also has bean sprouts, cabbage, carrots, and onions. Expensive for the portion you get. I really like VIP Thai! It's conveniently located near the Cinemark and the gym, and their service is usually super fast. I found their current COVID precautions reassuring - they are wearing masks, not dining in right now, and have tables set up with hand sanitizer located near the entrance, where your bill is waiting for you to sign. The owner seemed uncomfortable with us the whole experience and when it was time to pay, (my friend treated me for my birthday) I wanted to at least cover the tip and I asked for change for a $10 and I gave $5 and my friend used her card for the bill. My friend noticed the owner yelling in Vietnamese to the worker as soon as we started to leave. My friend is fluent in the language and said the lady was accusing us of not leaving a tip when in fact her staff corrected her and told her the tip was in cash. No apology was given to us. Husband and I ordered the Royal Pad Thai! They make it with coconut milk and it was pretty good! They have a regular pad Thai as well, but we wanted to try the "Royal" option. We weren't allowed to eat in the restaurant. I'm not sure if it's always like that. Even though it was only take out orders, they still had a good amount of traffic. Located right next to Cinemark, this is a nice spot with decent prices and large portion sizes. I was very full after eating my Pad Thai, and yet still had a ton leftover! The Chicken Pad Thai was $9.95, and all the dishes ranged around $9-13 depending on the protein choice. I wasn't blown away by the flavor, but it was pretty good!
