I wish I could give them negative stars, or at the very least zero. We called yesterday to arrange pickup for our flight to Kauai for 9 am. We saw a driver and we weren't on her manifest, so she spoke to dispatch and arranged to have another shuttle to pick us up. We also called to confirm that they were coming for us. We were told there was a shuttle in the area, and that they would get us in 10 minutes. After waiting 20, we attempted to call again. We were placed on hold and then disconnected. We then called back and placed on hold once again. We just hailed a cab. I strongly suggest you find another option. Pay for a cab, or try Hawaii23. I know Hawaii has it's own time schedule it runs on, but that does NOT excuse poor customer service. Have some pride in your work. You can't call yourselves VIP, if that is not the service you supply. I'm almost thinking there might be some other agencies contacted about this fiasco. There was one small glimmer of light in this whole mess, and his name is Scott. He was our driver to Pearl Harbor, and I'm guessing he's the single employee of this company that has his shit together. All in all, just don't. There are SO many other options. read more

Originally I thought it was a great idea due to the price. I couldn't have been more wrong. First- my pick up was 15 mins late. (No biggie I know) but my rerun was HORRIBLE. Not so much the 45 min tardiness but even worse was the ATTITUDE of the phone rep when I called about the tardiness as was the actual driver who eventually picked us up. One block into the ride and "the bus broke down" .. I really cannot stress the UNPROFESSIONALISM but I guess that goes right along with the price. Transport to the airport was a full 50 minutes late and we didn't even end up having the driver we were supposed to have. Dispatch kept telling us 5-7 minutes, we would call and she would tell us again another 5-7. Only reason I gave 2 stars is because the driver that did show up was amazing. He was kind, patient (as we were understandably upset), and provided fast (& safe) transportation to the airport. Great conversation as well. Thank you, RJ for being our saving grace! read more

Booked a hotel pick up to the airport for 11 a.m. . When no one arrived we started calling and was told the driver should be there shortly. By 11:45 called again and was told the driver was somewhere in Waikiki but they couldnt confirm what time they would be able to pick us up. Gave up on them and took a taxi. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!! I used them previously and though our pick up from the airport to our hotel took 2 hours, I decided to give them another try. I called this morning to arrange a pick up at our hotel. I told the operator that there was a parade downtown and they said no problem your pick up will be at 5pm time in front of your hotel. They call 30 minutes before pick up to tell us we needed to move to another area because there was a parade. Said they would call us back with the location ... at 445, I called them because no one had called. They gave a location but no directions on how to get there. The lady became impatient with me and hung up and when I called back, they blind transferred my number to a group line that was a recording. So I called from a different number and wow, they answered. So, I guess they have caller ID. Horrible service!!!! Never again!!! read more

Terrible experience. Got a ride back from the airport with a friend who lives in Waikiki and recommended them. I live near Chinatown, which is much closer than Waikiki. When I asked how much, the driver gives me a quote that is $9 more expensive than the flat rate to Waikiki. I told him that, and he quickly backs down. Like a dummy, I call them a few days later, the night before a trip. I schedule the pick up for the next day, and they never show up! I call the dispatcher 10 minutes after the time they were supposed to pick me up, and she rudely tells me that they had a problem, and couldn't make it. Despite having my number, they don't have enough class to give me a courtesy call!. I damn near missed my flight. I will NEVER use these clowns again. Our guests were picked up promptly as scheduled and they all arrived in time before the ceremony started. This was my first time getting a shuttle in honululu.This company is amazing I have no idea why there only 3 stared they should be 5! I booked last minute they were easy to book and the best priced about a min online and done they were on time waiting for me with a sign with my name on it and very nice customer service when greeted they had me in my shuttle within no time on my way to my hotel. I even had a change of flights and they worked with me no prob I emailed them and they responded quickly! I would definitely recommend and I will definitely be using them every time I come back. read more

You can count on them to be consistent... If consistent means 15-20 minutes late. Sometimes friendly and sometimes not. Call operators put me in hold about four times without answering my question when an answer would have saved me three holds. Our driver from Pearl Harbor was almost 30 minutes late an stayed an extra 15 min to hustle for more passengers. Second time the bus was just as late but at least was punctual about picking us up. The prices are pretty good if you're not on a schedule and have lots of time to wait around. But if you're looking for a service that will be consistently on time, then maybe look around some more first. read more

Awful!!! I planned this as a surprise for my husband's bday, hoping to get him excited for the trip by having our names on a sheet and a nice welcome. Unfortunately our guy was not wearing green as the email confirmation said, he was hanging out with his buddies and not pating attention, after finding a guy with tha vio trans dolly, i asked him to help us and he pointed us in the direction of our attendant. The leis were not what we were expecting, espexcially since there were gorgeous ones being sold at the outrigger for $5. Once we ere finally shown to our bus we sat on it, in the airport parking lot, in the sun, with no air con for an hour! Once we finally got on the road we made 5 hotel stops before ours making our trip a 2 hour nightmare. Definitely not the service that was promised on the website. read more

I used VIP for a Circle Island Tour and was supposed to take a tour with them for the CITY/PEARL HARBOR Tour. The circle tour went flawless and my only caution is to be aware that the tour guides will direct you to local establishments to purchase various Hawaiian items. If you are military you can find these items in the exchange or commissary for a fraction of the cost. Do not spend your money foolishly! On day two when I was due to take the City/Pearl Harbor tour, VIP called me approximately one hour before we were do to leave to advise that they had over booked and would not be able to accomodate us. To date no refund has been made. Since this was booked with LivingSocial I feel certain that I will eventually get my money back. VIP also had people on the first day expecting it be a 4 hour tour which ended up being 7am to 6pm. There is a bit of disorganization in the office. read more

Terrible customer service. After waiting for 20min past the scheduled time I called and spoke to "Nina". I asked where the shuttle was and she informed they do not pick up anywhere but a hotel. A) why take the order? B) we live within 500ft of a hotel C) why did she not call me to say they were not coming? She was VERY RUDE and hung up on me twice (immediately after I asked for a manager and when I called back). Do not use VIP whether you are a tourist or a local. NIGHTMARE VACATION CRUMBLER. picked us up 30 minutes late. Took a circuitous route that 30 minutes later passed our hotel again. Insisted on attempting two additional pickups despite our insistence that we are going to miss our flight. Incidentally both of these were no shows as they probably wised up at the 40 minutes late point and took a cab. Overpriced to begin with. Pretty sure we could have booked a limo for what our group paid. Dropped us off last and couldn't find our drop off which killed any shot of us catching our flight. It leaves in 15 minutes. Will we make it? Drum roll... Update: we are on our flight, but only because we lucked into no lines at check-in and security. Running barefoot, belt in hand, through the airport is not my idea of a good time. There is a good chance our bags will not make it. Boo VIP trans. read more

Throughout our tour Rodger displayed a fantastic mix of witty banter and historical awareness that was unmatched by any other guide we encountered on our trip. We were staying at the Sheraton Waikiki and wanted a fast affordable way to get to Pearl Harbor. Called VIP Trans and they came to pick us up in 10 min. For 4 people it was $10 each roundtrip and only 30 min. Our driver was great. On the way back we finished our tour well before their 2:00pm shuttle back. So we called their number and they sent a special van back for us in 15 min. We were very happy with their service and the drivers! I highly recommend them! read more

Thanks VIP Trans for the transportation to Aloha Stadium Swap Meet!! I couldn't get there and so much fun without your help. I wanted to use layover of 6 hours between 2 flights and go to Aloha Stadium. I used their site's "contacted us" page, then Auntie Aloha emailed me back in a prompt manner and quoted that round trip from HNL airport to Aloha Stadium was $9.99. For people like me who fly internationally really appreciate super fast email response like hers because we don't know when we can have wifi access while we are traveling. It helped me to plan things ahead. I didn't make a reservation for the ride. So when I got to HNL airport, I found VIP Trans people who wear white Aloha shirts with a little red flower(?) accent. They called in the main office for the shuttle to the Stadium from their cell phone, and 20min. later, a shuttle showed up. I purchased a round trip ticket, so the driver took a half and gave me back the other half for me for the retuning shuttle. Then he dropped me off at K-5. He said there was a VIP Trans "WAITING VAN" in front of K-5, so customers could wait in a nice air-conditioned van for the shuttle back to the airport. That made me feel very comfortable because I did't want the shuttle to leave me, feel stranded, then wait for another shuttle at the empty space under the scorching sun. But I actually saw some people who were waiting for a ride or shuttle with their purchased items in their both hands the middle of nowhere(!!!). I'm glad I didn't go for that route. The returning shuttle would arrive at the Stadium every 30 min, according to their website. Mine came through within 20 min. while I was cooling off and chatting with other passengers. They loaded my suitcases in the back, and successfully dropped me off at the airport first. They constantly asked me what time was my temperature time for the flight, and took my departure flight very very seriously and made it the first priority than other customer drop-offs. So I got such an awesome deals with great experience in 2 hours at Aloha Stadium Swap Meet. Both drivers were so much fun to talk to, they talked about Swap meet tips and Hawaiian history and so on. They made my trip so special. This is the way of Aloha spirit!! :D Pros: (1) Very much only VIP Trans offers to the "HNL airport - Aloha Stadium" shuttles. Other companies simply ignored my inquiry emails. (2) They accept suitcases to load in their shuttle, while The Bus (city bus) don't accept them. (3) They have a "nice air-conditioned WAITING VAN" at the Stadium in front of K-5, so when you finish shopping, you can get in the van and wait for the next ride. The returning van should arrive every 30 min. or so. (4) You don't have to drive. Lots of people who try to drive to Swap Meet miss the H-1 exit to enter the Stadium. And parking issues... you tend to forget where you parked your car! (5) Only $10 for a round trip!!! What a cool deal!!!! Cons: No cons!! A REQUEST to the company: I just hope they clarify about "WAITING VAN" at stadium in front of K-5. I didn't know that until the driver explained to me because it's not on their website. And clarify VIPS Trans uniform aloha shirt to find them easily on their website, for a peace of mind. Lots of ppl like me try to find and recognize the shuttle companies by their aloha shirts. Prompt 9 AM pick up for the Pearl Harbor shuttle. The shuttle made a few other stops, including the airport before heading to the memorial. When we were dropped off the driver said there would be someone coming by on every half hour for pick-ups. We finished about 3 and headed to the pick up location, but when no shuttle arrived a call clarified that there are only three pick-ups, 11 AM, 2 PM, and 4:30 PM so we sat for a while. The website verified this, unfortunately the driver should have also given the same information. Other than that the drivers were friendly and efficient. read more

OMG!! How bad can a company really be? Here's another negative review to add to the ever growing list. Unfortunately I've been using this outfit for a few years both corporately and personally so you think I would have learnt by now. If I could write a review of how stupid I was/am, I would! It starts with the ladies (and I use the term ladies very, very loosely) that answer the phones. They have absolutely no manners and definitely no aloha! These people put you on hold, hang up on you, arrive late or not at all, lose your reservation or even tell you that your flight doesn't exist....seriously....sooooooo bad it's laughable! The only positive thing I have to say is that most of the drivers are really nice! Save yourself the hassle, spend a little extra and go with ANY other service (I highly recommend King Airport Shuttle!), cab or Uber. These people are totally rude and totally unreliable!! read more

Bad Service Waited for the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet shuttle for 1/ 2 hour at our condo. Never came. Then they called and said the driver had an emergency. Yea, right. We saw shuttle #206 drive right by us. That was the shuttle van that we were supposed to take. Now they say they will drive us a 1 PM. I simply adored VIP Trans when we went on our vacation to Honolulu a few months a go! One of the things I love about them was the awesome customer service. Making reservations to the various tours and sights around Honolulu, Hawaii was just so easy. The shuttles were really top notch. We always had friendly and professional drivers both on the shuttle from the airport to our Waikiki hotel and around Honolulu. Of course, they also saved us a lot of money on cab and bus fares! The tour we we took was amazing. The tour guide really knew Hawaii and we learned a lot from him. They were also fun and and super friendly. It ended up being one of funnest tours we've ever been on! I've used a few other transportation companies but this is the best by far. This is especially true when you consider how great the pricing is. The other companies I've used were higher price but I didn't receive nearly the level of service I did from VIP Trans! I'm definitely going to use VIP Trans next time I return to Honolulu. We had a terrible transfer van from the airport to our hotel. The seat backs we broken down on the right side and the back of the van's interior molding was falling off. When they picked us up from our hotel on the way home, the scheduled our time for 5:45. They showed up at 5:55 and informed us that he had another pick up at the same hotel for 6:15. When the other people failed to show up, we finally left. We were then re-routed to another hotel for another pick up. These people also did not show up. Finally, we headed for the airport and got there at about 7, around 30 minutes longer than it should have been. read more

I was told one of their shuttles run every 45 minutes for pick up from the Aloha Flea Market from their dispatcher. After missing the 3:00 trip, I waited for the 3:45 trip. No one showed up. I called the dispatcher only to be told to wait 15 minutes for their shuttle "on the way". At 4:00 still no ride. I called again and was told another 15 minute wait for another shuttle "on the way". At 4:15 I was about to give up on this company, although I made one last attempt to catch a ride (since I paid for the service online already). Finally someone showed up at 4:30. Horrible!!! I'm pretty sure there weren't any shuttles on the way after all the times I called and complained. Do yourself a favor and do not use this company unless you're fine waiting more than hour to get to your destination. What a waste of time! read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! IT WAS MY FIRST AND DEFINITELY MY LAST TIME TO USE THEM!!! We reserved our reservation 5 days before our departure on 8/30/2013. The girl on the phone was good and I got the email confirmation right away. She said the company would call me one day before to remind me. The pick up time was scheduled for 9:00am pick up on 8/30. On the pick up day, I called them at 8:00am to confirm my pick up since they didn't call me the day before. They told me to go stand outside by the curb at 8:45am to wait for the driver. WE WERE STANDING THERE FOR OVER ONE HOUR UNDER THE HOT SUN. We started to get nervous about the time by 9:25am. We tried to call the company from 9:25am but all circuits were busy busy busy!!! I finally got through the line at 9:40am and they said they were on the way but didn't know when. My flight was 11:30am!!! I told them to cancel my reservation and I want my money back. I wanted to take a taxi. They said I could not get the my money back because I cancel too late. I told them I either got a shuttle from them right away or we were going to see them in court to get my money back and my flights cost if we miss our flight. They finally said they would send a rescue driver in 15 minutes. We finally got our RESCUE DRIVER at 10:00am. He said he had to make one more stop to rescue another angry customers like us. The customers pick up was also over one hour late too. I was so done with them. I would give this company NO STAR if not because the rescue driver was so patience and nice. He told us our reservation was not even on their schedule on the day. Then he said the original driver said he couldn't find us. It was all lies and B.S. He could call me since I was holding my phone the whole time. Overall, it was a terrible company, terrible customer service(they told us just keep waiting...no sorry or no estimate time) I kept asking them what meant soon. How many minutes?????? Everything went smoothly with the online reservation and pickups. VIP was waiting for us with a sign in the baggage claim area of Honolulu airport. A representative had our luggage taken outside to wait for the shuttle, and after a few minutes we were on our way to the Sheraton Waikiki. Upon return to the airport, the driver was ontime and courteous. I'm sure problems can exist at times with this company, based on some reviews, but we would use VIP again, based our our experience. read more

I'd give zero if that were possible. Found these jokers online. Called them at 7am to schedule a pickup at 12:30pm the same day to get to the Arizona Memorial by 1:30pm. While talking to a male dispatcher, I stressed that we needed to be there on time because otherwise our tickets that were reserved online would be released to walk-ins. Dispatcher said no problem, we'll get you there. Initially he offered a 12:45 pickup but I thought we'd be better off with 12:30 since it is a shuttle with multiple parties, not a cab with just one. He agreed and said we'd be picked up at 12:30pm. We never got a confirmation but because we were told to expect one I didn't think anything of it. At 12:30pm there's no shuttle. Just wanting to make sure it was a slight delay and nothing more, I called the company at 12:35pm. At first the dispatcher (a woman this time) acted like there was no record of the pickup. Then got put on hold and eventually the call got disconnected. Called again and this time was told the driver was 'on his way.' The driver, a nice enough guy, showed up at 12:50pm. I asked him if he'd be able to get us to the memorial by 1:30pm. He said he was sorry but couldn't make any guarantees since he had another pickup before heading out to the memorial. So after wasting almost 30 minutes, we ended up taking a cab to get to the Memorial on time after all. Based on my experience I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone with a deadline. I saw the terrible reviews for VIP online and thought they were left by unhappy people who felt like complaining. Now I understand why they'd feel the need to. Bottom line: don't use this company, go with someone more professional and reliable. read more

We are very disappointed in the service we received on 9/19/11-9/21/11 1. Upon arrival, no one met us. Their email confirming reservation said: "If you are arriving on a domestic flight please go to your baggage claim area. We will meet you there and will have a sign with your name on it. Do not cross any streets without our staff. We will find you. Our staff wears green Hawaiian Style Shirts. If you want you can call us when you arrive. It is not necessary." After asking a security guard, we finally walked to an area across the street outside the terminal where a bunch of drivers were visiting and smoking. 2. We also prepaid for round trip transportation to Pearl Harbor; after picking us up, we stopped at several hotels to pickup other passengers and then went to airport and then Pearl Harbor. We could have taken a city bus and gotten there faster. 3. Returning from Pearl Harbor, they only have return buses at 11:30, 2:00 and 4:30. We took a city bus back so we didn't have to wait so long for the next bus. 4. On departing the hotel to the airport to go home, he picked us up at 10:00 AM at Hilton Hawaiian Village, then made 7-8 stops at other hotels in Waikiki, then drove by our hotel 45 minutes later, then stopped at the ship terminal, then finally to airport. It took over an hour to get there and we had to rush to make our flight. We are not happy with this at all. read more

Do not use this company if you want to get to the airport. I made reservations two weeks in a row and both times the driver did not show up. First time I had to call to find out that the pick up time change I called to make never made it to the system. The driver logged it as no-show without anyone calling my cell to confirm. VIP Trans Bus #202 nearly side swiped my family today at approximately 1700, near safeway on vineyard and pali. My son contacted this company to make a complaint against the driver, however, the dispatcher on duty named Anna took the complaint because there were no Managers on duty, and decided to act ignorant and uneducated. She didn't take the call seriously (probably protecting the driver...who knows) first of all, but what prompted me to write this review, was her uneducated choice of words to a minor. Such vulgarity and unprofessionalism at its finest. So I get the call from my son and I contact VIP myself. A young unsure female (I forgot her name, but I think it was Stacy) answers and I ask for a manager or the owner, and this is what I mean about unsure because missy mumbles something while covering the phone and I automatically get transferred to another female. I ask for her name and she tells me ANNA. I then ask for the manager or the owner, and I get there is no one available, so I say ok, can I get the name of your manager or the name of the owner, and sarcastically she gives me a name of "Moe". I then go on to tell her ok good because the phone call you got about your driver nearly sideswiping my family, and that was all I was able to say because at this point this unprofessional, uneducated person started yelling & swearing at me on the phone and then click...the phone went dead. What this person fails to realize, is that there are consequences for our actions. Thankfully my family was not hurt. What we really wanted to do was bring awareness to the company regrading the carelessness of their driver. Now since Miss Anna failed Customer Service 101, I am finding myself writing my very first review. But I am not done yet. Not by a long shot. I have written a complaint on their website, and I am going to contact them everyday until I speak with the owner. And yes I was able to get his name, and it is not Moe. So thank you Miss Anna for your savvy phone etiquette, and your wonderful unprofessional choice of words. Congratulations read more
