Don't even bother with this shuttle service you're way better off taking an uber. I've never experienced such an unorganized airport shuttle service. There was only one staff member organizing tons of people and she was too stressed out to even answer any of our questions. When asked if she even had our booking she just told us she needed to take care of another flight first and didn't listen to what we had to ask. I think it's fair to verify when you get there if the company has our booking. Extremely understaffed and we had to walk to a different terminal to meet them. Not the way you want to start a trip. Update: The driver did not strategically drop us off according to closest hotel. Instead he went down a list and went by the order on the paper. This meant we went up and down the street four to five times to go to hotels that were next to each other. There's a huge problem with this company's operations. I'd like to know who's in charge of their operations. Don't use this shuttle service. If you have a lot of time to kill ... say 3-4 hours then sure go for it. read more

I rode a VIP Trans shuttle going from my hotel in Waikiki to the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet in Honolulu. Five minutes after being dropped off, I realized that I left my Oakley sunglasses on the unoccupied bus. I called the dispatch line and asked politely if the driver could hold onto the sunglasses, until they stopped again at the Aloha Stadium a couple hours later. I was clearly told by the dispatcher that the sunglasses have been found and held onto. A couple hours later, when the same bus (and driver) arrived, I inquired about my lost sunglasses and was stunned and angry when told that my sunglasses were not found, contradicting what I was told by the dispatcher earlier in the day. Interestingly, another driver from the same company told me that I was lied to, that all buses must go through a walkthrough/cleanup after each and every transport, to ensure that all trash are cleared. Nothing VIP about VIP. I booked a round-trip pick up service for my mom for her visit to Hawaii. Upon arriving at HNL, she first got a spot in one VIP shuttle, then, when the VIP guy noticed a large group coming in, he removed her from that shuttle, and passed her off to another, then another, and then VIP placed on a completely random shuttle - Go Go Shuttle & Tours. When she arrived at her destination, Go Go Tours had asked her to pay.. why? She pre-paid? Apparently VIP just dumped her in a random shuttle, and she ended up paying again. Not a good start to her vacation. She even contacted VIP customer service twice asking for the refund. Once they said they will escalate it to a manager, a few days later -no result, another time said they'd issued a refund - did not! Finally, I ended up disputing charges through my credit card. Don't book VIP! They will dump you into Ala Wai canal, take your money and run. They don't care! UPDATE: Soufiane E. contacted me, and seemed like he really cares, and tried to make things right, and even offered a refund. False Advertising on their website We booked a tour through VIP Trans for a pick up at Four Seasons Hotel Ko'Olina, which is an option on their website. The day before the tour, we got a call that said they will not pick us up at the Four Seasons, even though it is on their website as an option pick up location. The girl that called to tell us that VIP Trans will not pick us up at our hotel, gave me another location which is no where near where we are staying. She was very rude and not accommodating then she hung up on me. Not a good way to do business, and we will be giving your company a very bad review on Yelp and other social media. It was my girlfriends birthday weekend and our first time to Hawaii. I wanted to book a private tour of the island so we could explore it without the hassle of crowds. This tour was unbelievable, the van was clean and the AC worked great, but what was the BEST part of the tour was our guide. JAMES, was the very best, his knowledge of the island and the Hawaii culture was amazing. He took us to places that were away from the crowds and should us the very best of Hawaii, we stopped and had the best poke, coconut juice , pickeled mango and had a lunch that the locals would eat. If you want to book a private tour and you have the option to get James, do not hesitate. He is very respected around the island, takes pride in his culture and perseves the beauty of Hawaii. Used to be good, but if you schedule a pickup of any kind, they are at least a full half hour late. Lady on the phone rude and outright lied to me when she told me the van "should be pulling up any minute" to my hotel. Wow! I use VIP every year for my airport pick up and to get back for my flight home...they have not let me down over the last 10 years! On March 31, 2015, they were to pick me up at 730pm and there were reports of terrible traffic jams between Waikiki and the airport. Well I guess they had all their vehicles caught up in the traffic jam, they sent a taxi to collect me and the driver took routes away from the major jam ups! They are cheap for a reason. Left me stranded at my hotel in Waikiki. I called 6 hours in advance to make a reservation for an airport shuttle. Called 15 minutes prior to pick up to confirm reservation which they said everything was good. Never showed up at pick up time. Called again, placed on hold, no answers. Then called 20 minutes after they were late, no answer, kept ignoring me. Called a cab and guess what, still no call from VIP asking me where I was. Go with Roberts Hawaii or Speedi shuttle if you want to actually get to your destination. read more

This is the second time I have used VIP Trans shuttle service to get from the airport in Honolulu to Waikiki. Upon arrival to the baggage claim there was someone waiting with a sign. Once my bags arrived they loaded it onto a trolly and we waiting for the other passengers. We seemed to trek for miles through the airport vs going straight out front where the other buses were going. The driver went through town vs the highway and overall it was a pretty quick trip and shared cultural insights along the drive. The return shuttle was on time and I had no issues. If Yelp allowed the half-star, VIP would be a solid 3.5 but I'm bumping it up because our first driver just rocked. Yea the digs are a bit rundown, you're not picked up in a short bus with enough room to spread out for the long trip to Waikiki but rather in a Chester the molester type of van from the 80s complete with ripped upholstery and wonky seatbelts. However, what VIP transportation lacks in looks it more than makes up for in service. Upon landing in Oahu, service was great. The woman waiting for us at the airport was borderline obsessive about getting us on the van, but I'd rather have someone overcompensating than falling short. The driver when we landed was such a sweet older gentleman too, the other people on the van with us were shy so I piped up and talked to him. When I told him how I used to live in Oahu he perked up and talked to me like I was kama'aina; after we had disembarked and he was helping us with our bags he even gave me a hug, a kiss on the cheek and welcomed me "home." Now that's service! Leaving Hawaii though was a different story. The shuttle was late. Well not actually late, I called VIP and our reservation had gotten mixed up so they didn't have a pickup scheduled for us. When I started getting pissed because we had to leave within a half hour or else we'd miss the red-eye, the customer service person on the phone got the problem resolved efficiently. We were so pleased with VIP Trans Hawaii on our last trip that we booked with them again. Our connecting flight was cancelled and the airline put us on an earlier flight (with a different flight number) and we have arrived in Honolulu a full hour earlier than scheduled. I was sure we'd have to call VIP upon arrival to come pick us up or wait an extra hour at the airport but when we got to baggage claim, there was a guy holding up a sign with our names on it. He confirmed that we were initially to arrive on a later flight and that our flight had changed. I was impressed that they actually track the flights. On our return trip to the airport the shuttle arrived right on time. We had one stop to pick up another couple then we were dropped off at the airport. Worst customer service!!! I had booked a shuttle for my guest and he wasn't able to find the porter at baggage claim, so when I called VIP the woman hung up on me three times without speaking. When I finally talked to her the fourth time she was extremely rude and unprofessional and proceeded to tell me there should be someone there and if they're not, it's not her problem and she can't to anything about it. My guest let me know he finally saw the porter walk up to baggage claim so he got a ride, but I will never use them again. read more

THIS IS A WARNING, DO NOT BOOK THEM! Horrible customer service and very unprofessional. Booked them for a tour for Friday, we waited all day the day before our tour for our confirmation call but never received any. They said they left us two confirmation voicemails letting us know the change of venue for pick-up. Because we didn't get the call, we waited at our hotel lobby for them to come to pick us up and they never did; so I called them and they transferred me 3 times until I got a chance to talk to a representative. Turns out the confirmation call that we never received was to inform us of the new pick-up time and place. Gave them another chance and booked them again for a tour 3 days later (Monday). We were told we will receive a personal confirmation call and personal pick up from our hotel lobby for our tour on Monday. Waited for my confirmation call for Monday's tour, but it never came. I took the initiative to call the night before my tour for Monday. If I had not call, the situation would probably end up the same as what happened the first time around (Friday). By this time, they wasted 2 planned days out of 7 that I had on vacation. I asked for a refund and to talk to a manager but none were available at the time. I called multiple times the next morning to file a complaint and to speak to a manager but they said managers were in a meeting. I don't like how one representative would tell me that their manager will call me back and another one tells me that it will take two days for their manager to call me back. I'm sure they take/make hundreds of phone calls each day so it's not that hard to call back a persistent customer. They lack communication within the company so I knew all the information that were told to me by different representatives was bullsh*t. Of all the times that I've called, representatives didn't apologize and didn't ask my reason for a refund. Some representatives snapped at me and spoke to me in a rude tone. There were broken promises (no personal confirmation call when we were told we would get one). In addition, they didn't offer to make up for the awful customer service. I honestly don't think their company can operate for long with this kind of management. It's ridiculous to even waste my time dealing with them. They do not deserve to call themselves VIP, because I did not feel and was not treated like a VIP. If I can, I'd give them negative stars. Or actually, I'd create a black hole and have them get sucked into it, so they can't even exist anymore! That's how awful they are! read more

Waited at the airport through 4 different vans before one that could fit our group finally showed up for our reservation. The van that did show was disgusting and falling apart. The vents didn't work, so the back of the van was incredibly uncomfortable. The mold growing on the ceiling made me wonder if the van had ever been cleaned. The first time I went to Hawaii, I spent 40-50 bucks on a taxi to go to our hotel in Waikiki. I learned my lesson after. I found out VIP transportation shuttles will take you to the aiport for about $10 per person with a coupon that you find in those tourist magazines all over the place! Do not ever use VIP Trans - it is not safe! We thought things started off great. We wanted to get to Pearl Harbor early to get tickets so we scheduled a pick up at 6am. The shuttle arrived very shortly after this time and we were quickly seated and on our way. While on the highway, we realized we were not going straight to Pearl Harbor but were instead dropping off a family who was also in the van at the airport. As we were approaching an off ramp to a different highway, we clearly heard the sounds of a blown tire, and the family with us could see shards of rubber flapping as we drove. Upon alerting the driver, he insisted the sound was that of a weak transmission. We kept driving until we were literally driving on the metal rim. Eventually the driver pulled over onto a half shoulder - it felt incredibly unsafe as half the van was still in the lane. Then, without warning and while everyone was trying to figure out what to do, the driver chugged the van back into traffic by crossing the off ramp in an attempt to park us on the median between the highway and the off ramp. We ended up getting stuck in the middle of the lane for a few minutes as we continued to scrape along the pavement. After about ten minutes, a van arrived to pick us up and continue on to our destination. Much to our surprise, despite plenty of room in the second van, the driver refused to take us the rest of the way to Pearl Harbor and we were told we would have to wait for a third van. We (as well as the driver of our first van) were unclear as to why he had refused to take us. I'll remind you that all this is taking place in the middle of a highway with cars zipping by on both sides, with plenty of yelling and honking. Our original driver was, understandably, very frustrated by the situation, but he completely took it out that frustration on us when we inquired whether he knew if and when a third van would arrive. Eventually we arrived at Pearl Harbor, about a half hour behind schedule, and had a great experience. On our return trip, the driver was 25 minutes late picking us up. Needless to say, do yourself a favor and just take an Uber, taxi, or the far-more-reliable Roberts Hawaii. I understand that things happen, tires blow, communication between dispatch and drivers can break down, but the way it was handled was not good. At all. Update: the customer service department was very prompt and courteous, and we were refunded for our trip. I have updated my review from 1 to 2 stars, and my hope is that this situation is a one-time event. read more

We prepaid for a round trip to Pearl Harbor on this shuttle from Waikiki. Getting there was no problem; the driver was friendly and helpful and clearly showed us the pickup depot and time for our return trip. However, the return shuttle didn't show up at the pickup time and place, and after our party (and another one waiting to be picked up by VIP) had waited around 15 minutes, we called VIP to inquire after the missing shuttle. They said it would arrive any minute. After another 15 minutes, we called again, same story. After an hour, the shuttle drove straight by our whole group as we waved to flag it down. The new driver was clearly lost and we could see him driving in circles a few blocks away. Eventually another shuttle company saw our situation and drove after the lost shuttle, guiding it back to us. Rather than apologize when we got on the shuttle, the driver snapped at us when we expressed frustration that it was an HOUR late. He told us it was his first day and repeated that it was "Not his fault". He also wanted to argue about which street our hotel was on. I told him we were at the "Wyndham Waikiki Beachwalk" and added that it was on "Lewers St." to which he got upset and asked why I had told him it was on Beachwalk street if it was on Lewers St. VIP employee standards/training seems like a miss. The transportation that was provided from the airport to Waikiki was excellent, especially for the price. We decided to partake in the Pearl Harbor Tour, which was also excellent. The overall general service and customer service we received was fantastic. I would highly recommend this company to a friend, family member or coworker. I have used VIP for my wedding business, I will never use them again. I have been in business for 15years here on Oahu and have guests from all over the world. Their wedding is the biggest day in their lives. Vip has screwed me over 2 Times. I had to pay $725 for a shuttle the will comfortably hold my guests and both times in the last year the have picked up my guest late and in junky vans. I paid a lot for the shuttle and got shit. Used their shuttle to get to and from Pearl harbor from Waikiki. Driver was late for 10 minutes which was fine, but after we were picked up we went round Waikiki picking up people from different hotels and we drove pass our hotel again which didn't really make sense to me because he could have easily picked us up later. We also didn't know that we were sharing a shuttle with people on the way to the airport so we had to stop by the airport after leaving Waikiki as well. Took us a little over an hour and once we reached, our driver told us that pickup would be at 230 and 430pm, but the website stated 2pm and 430pm so I called them to double confirm the return shuttle time at 130pm and was told that the shuttle is at 2pm not 230pm. After waiting for 15minutes, I called again at 215pm and was told that the shuttle is at 230pm. When we lined up to get on the shuttle then we realized that our first driver in the morning was supposed to give us a slip of paper for the return shuttle (which he didn't) but thankfully I printed out my email confirmation so the driver let us on. There were 3 other people whom we traveled with this morning and they were not let on because they didn't have any paperwork and after everyone got on there was not enough space on the shuttle so they had to wait at the pick up for the next shuttle..... Overall our trip was alright but given their lack of professionalism and inconsistency, I would not dare to use them again. Take the bus to Pearl Harbor instead! read more

We used our usual guy for years (it's always a big white multiple passenger van; he's nice but he can sure hold a long lingering conversation when you ask him one question), but when we tried using him again for our ride to the airport (for our usual red-eye flight), he said it was too late. So we scrambled to find another way, enter VIP shuttle (24 hour service). We were able to get the booking, via telephone, and scheduled a time for pickup at 9 pm. The driver was a little late (had a white shuttle van with comfy padded seats and AC- more passenger friendly), but we got to the airport fine. He was nice and pleasant to deal with, too. Once our bags were in the back, he asked for payment- cash. There were several other couples on the shuttle, but we got dropped off first- Hawaiian Airlines (always use them). I think we're making the switch to using this shuttle service as this is 24 hours, and we're always arriving and departing on a red-eye flight. read more
