We booked our trip and were given this transport company as our shared shuttle. They were a no show upon arrival and departure. No phone number was given to call. I had to GOOGLE it. When I called after paying a Taxi $75 to get to our hotel, I was told I would be refunded. When I called after we got home they said we were a no show and would not refund our money. Had a very bad experience with the VIP Trans Inc shuttle driver on my way back to the airport. I was notified to be at the hotel door 10 minutes before 1 pm pick up. I was at the hotel at 12:45. We were told by the doorman that the bus came 12:40 and just left. I called twice to make sure that he was coming back. The driver came at 1:30 and was putting my 2 large luggages at the back and did not want to put my 2 smaller rollers at the back . He told me to just take it with me . I told him there's space and was very upset & tossed my 2 other bags at the back-and i asked him if he was okay? He barked at me and said " we are late!" I told him - there's space back there and i was told to be at the front of my hotel 12:50! You're the one who was not on time! When he got back in the shuttle , He was also scolding 2 other passengers , embarrassing the couple flying out to New Zealand while he was already driving, demanding for the physical vouchers. The lady kept on telling him that she has it in her luggage and will give it as soon as we stop. This man is making your business look bad. No customer service. We went outside as instructed by the cop and waited 30 minutes before we were picked up. I had to place a call TWICE. The customer service girl asked me where we were as if I knew my way around the airport. Outside There were NO signs stating VIP Trans pickup. Once we were picked up the driver was nice. Just from my last trip to Oahu, I've decided to bump these guys up to 5 stars. I booked my reservations online for $20/person roundtrip to/from HNL airport and was really pleased with their prompt service. They come greet you in baggage claim when you arrive so you don't have to go outside and wait. Both trips, our shuttle driver was entertaining and helpful in giving us recommendations for local hot spots and activities. If you get Barry, ask him if he's secretly an Italian Mafia guy from New York and is in the witness relocation program. We chartered a VIP Trans bus to Lanikuhonua (Ko Olina) from Waikiki, and back to Waikiki for our wedding. We chartered a bus with a 50+ capacity and the cost was about $500 or so included both trips and gratuity. The entire process of working with Auntie Aloha at VIP was good and she was very professional. Then the wedding day came and getting our guests to the venue was a problem. First, the bus was late to Lanikuhonua. The driver entered Ko Olina on time (by 3:45pm), and had he not missed the Lani entrance, we would have begun the ceremony on time (4:00pm). The driver was lost inside Ko Olina for 25 minutes. How that happens in such a small property I can't understand. The bus finally arrived at Lanikuhonua at 4:10pm and we did not start the ceremony until 4:20pm. When the bus finally arrived, the driver tried to offload guests at the entrance to the Lani parking lot. This is quite a walk to the Lani property entrance. He claimed buses could not enter the lot. Someone insisted he drive into the lot. Then he entered the lot and tried to drop everyone off 100 feet from the entrance. My dad insisted that he drive up to the property entrance to get guests in quickly so we could begin. During the 25 minutes he was lost in Ko Olina the following happened: -My friend asked that the driver stop so my friend could ask a Ko Olina security guard where the bus needed to go. During that time, rather than assisting in the "problem solving", the driver took a smoke break instead (see photo). Our guests were universally shocked at this behavior as was I. -My cousin, the driver's point person (who was visiting from CA) told him she thought he missed the entrance to Lani. He told her to use her GPS. During this time, half of our visiting guests on board were using their GPS to figure out where the driver needed to go. On the way TO Ko Olina, the driver started to fall asleep and the bus slowed down to an unreasonable and unsafe pace on the highway. My cousin's husband went to talk to the driver to keep him awake. Through all this, it's unfathomable that our guests had to be the proactive ones to solve the problem of finding the venue, rather than the bus driver himself. The driver could not have cared less about the job he was assigned to perform and the guests who were eagerly waiting in the hot sun for the ceremony to begin. Had the gratuity not been included in the rate we would certainly not have given the driver one. The day after the wedding, I emailed Auntie Aloha to let her know about the situation. She was very apologetic, and in response to my request to have the gratuity refunded, she told me she had to await manager's approval to refund the gratuity, which I found out was $15. She also told us that the driver had been to Lanikuhonua many times before, and that he was suspended for 1 week. It's been 3+ weeks and we haven't heard back from VIP. To be honest, $15 is not worth my time in the grand scheme of things and I don't want the refund. At this point, I am shocked that management and the VIP owner (who was copied on the email) have not followed up with an apology, which would have been appreciated. This is a business. We paid for a service, and that service was not met to the standards we expected. I will say that we had no issues with the driver on the way home, however that basic level of service provided on the way home was what we expected and paid for in the first place for the ride there. Our coordinator had recommended 2 bus vendors - I picked VIP because they were slightly cheaper and I trusted the recommendation. I should have gone with the other one. read more

These guys suck! I hope the management reads these reviews because they need to know their employees are ripping them off. I booked them to take me from my hotel to the swap meet and back. The driver that picked me up drove so erratically I was nauseated by the time I arrived. Before he left he gave us conflicting information for the return trip. When it came time for us to make the return trip, we were left waiting in the sun baking. I called the office and they did apologize, but the next driver was worse then the first. He came and even though we had enough seats for all the passengers, he said that we needed a bigger van and called for a replacement. I started questioning him and he got defensive and was trying to blow me off. Why are we waiting for another van when everyone had a seat?and why are so many yelpers complaining about delays, lost drivers and poor service? I will tell you why............. I did some checking and learned these shuttle drivers do a lot of "side" work. Meaning they try to pick up riders who don't have reservations, have them pay cash and pocket the money. This is what causes all the delays. They take advantage of the tourists who don't know the area. Waikiki airport to hotel service. PROs: 1) The sign-holding guy in the green shirt was waiting for us at the baggage claim. 2) They were on time. 3) Had a beautiful fresh Orchid LEI waiting for us, however, the greeter was awkward and didn't really " greet " us and welcome us to Hawaii, he just kind of asked us " so are you the Smiths" , Leid us and walked us out to the van, and he did NOT HELP WITH baggage. * you can buy your own lei at the airport as you walk in, you'll save a bunch..* CONS: ( look at my attached pictures to support this) 1) On the website, they have nice looking Mercedes Benz vans, but unfortunately what picked us up at the airport was a older white ECONOLINE van, with the door handle broken. SO...... BE PREPARED to be disappointed, they did not have a nice M-Benz to pick us up.. it was an old , falling apart white FORD ECONOLINE van. 2) Their service really isn't as VIP as they claim. We still had to wait for another couple at our same pick-up location, and in addition to that, we still made 2 more stops at other terminals to pick up more and more guests, which they stuffed into the car like SARDINES! I am serious, they really stuff the crap out of the vans, because technically each row of seats , has enough for 3 people, however, if one passenger is a fattie, then you might be super squished or falling off the edge of your seat . You can fit 3 emaciated persons in a row of seats, but realistically most people are thicker than that, so in all.... be prepared to get stuffed chock-full into a communal van with others. 3) WEBSITE DOES NOT STATE PRICE IS PER PERSON -My major annoyance with this company : I was charged twice,on my credit card the price of 26.95 to my surprise. On the web site, when you make a reservation, --Shows the amount of RT charge but does not indicate that the price is PER PERSON. -- On the same token,it allows you to fill in the number of guests, and even the NAMES of more than one passenger in the actual reservation, however, the price does not " update" the " price "how it would in online shopping carts, once you type in more than one passenger in the quantity portion. and since the price does not indicate PER PERSON, you don't know it is per person. 4) Customer service wasn't all that great...... even after i walked the rep.( on the other side of the phone,) through the parts of the website, and although she acknowledge it was " something we are working on" in regards to the price, how it clearly does not mention PER PERSON. So basically i showed this girl that the website was wrong, and i let her know that they are false advertising by putting a picture of a Mercedes Van... she still did not budge. Sometime's it is hard getting through to a pee-brain. I would file a dispute with the credit card company but since technically i took the service, i think it would be hard to get that credit back. That is why i am writing this review. But if i were you, i would be cautious of making that reservation... For the price, it ended up being 27 bucks a person, roundtrip, in a overstuffed ugly, out-dated van.. with a broken door handle...... for that money, i might as well have taken a ride from the big yellow shuttle bus for 60% less of the price, why not right, we still had to wait and load passengers from other terminals, it took at least an hour of my precious time... and in addition to that, like i said, they stuffed the van full of people to the max, regardless if the other passengers we fatties and stole your space which you paid for! This is a horrible business, run by horrible people that are LIARS. I call in the morning to set up a pick up from my hotel to the airport, I have to catch a flight in 3 hours. The liar I talked to on the phone told me that the driver will be there at 1145. I was like okay great, I have to check out from my hotel at 11 so I will just check out and wait outside where we agreed the driver will pick me up. I waited for for a whole hour and when the time was 12pm. I called them and they told me that the driver came in front of the hotel and no one was there. I TOLD THE GUY THERE IS NO WAY, I WAS WAITING HERE THE WHOLE TIME. They just steal the island visitors money and lie. Do not use their services, you will be doing yourself a favor. This was the worst service ever. Do not use them. I had to call three times for them to come pick us up. With these service, one would expect that they would be around the airport. 30 minutes after the third call, they showed up. Then we had to wait another 30 minutes in the van while the driver went out for another guest with no explanation to us. My family and I ended up taking the taxi from the airport to the hotel. It took us 15 minutes and half the price for the taxi vs this service. If you want to start your vacation right, DO NOT use them. read more

We used this service when we first arrived. Very helpful in directing us to the pick up location as well as the trip to our hotel. But upon booking for our departure our driver was fifteen minutes late, we waited for another customer that had clearly left or changed services. And when contacted they stated, oh well since your pick up time was not in their recommend timing they can't do anything. We almost missed our flight and our luggage came a day later because they couldn't communicate that they were running late. I should have just gotten an Uber the moment they were running late. We were greeted as soon as we got off the flight with our name(s) on a sign. The girl put our luggage on the cart for us and we waited for other passengers to arrive then went to the bus. The driver cared so much about the environment that she wouldn't turn the Bus on until everyone was there so we stood outside and waited because the bus was soo hot!! Hands down the most confrontational most dangerous driver on the island. I dropped some family at the airport early this morning. Almost, and I mean almost got hit by their van. 1 inch from my face getting out of my car. I told the driver to please slow down. He literally flipped out on me. Van 113 license plate sgg 713. He started cussing and threatening me swearing up a storm. I took a pic of his van that's when he jumped out and when he saw I was asking for the police he started acting like a victim. I called the sheriff and airport police. When I phoned the company I know now why they are the way they are. The lady on the phone was exactly like the driver. Wow! She was rude and disrespectful. I'm going to the public utilities commission to file a complaint. Also will be following up with the police. Don't take this van company. read more

Upon arrival VIP were promptly there in baggage claim area with a leigh greeting and the ride from airport was ok. The shuttle was a older one and kind of a rattle trap. The service back to the airport was better and the shuttle was a newer shuttle and they were prompt in arriving at our hotel. They're prices were reasonable compared to others in the area. Would try them again for a future Hawaiian trip. We arrived in Hawaii 20 minutes ahead of scheduled our driver arrived promptly at our pickup time with a sign with our names on it & a beautiful lei that we paid $14.99 for, be prepared to wait since our flight was early & another flight was coming we waited 1/2 hour for our driver to get additional passengers from another flight. Even though we just got off a 11 hour flight we didn't mind, our driver pointed us to a Starbucks where we got coffees & freshened up in a near by restroom. Once all passengers were on board we set off to Waikiki, our driver was awesome he gave us many suggestions on places to eat, things to do & places to see. He was just a knowledgeable as our tour guide in the circle island tour. We are heading back home today so I will update my review on my experience to the airport. read more

One of those services you wish you could give ZERO STARS to. Absolute nightmare of a company. We booked them days in advance, when we arrived at baggage claim we called to confirm and they said just let us know after you've picked up bags. So we called them again when we had our bags and they never showed up. After multiple calls the very rude receptionist told us 'there is an accident so we can't send someone for 1-2 hours'. Such BS as I checked google maps and there was no accident around us. And I was able to book an alternative shuttle for a cheaper rate, much kinder service, and they showed up within 15 minutes. Transportation business I expect the driver to drive safe and follow the rules. During high peak traffic from town bound heading in west direction at 4:30pm switching in and out of lanes without signaling almost causing an accident! On top of that one of their brake lights is out. The car isn't even legal but you are transporting passengers?! This shuttle service is just awful, I do not recommend. When we arrived they did not show up at either baggage claim or the gate as they stated they would. They were not even at the airport. I had to call them to ask where they where THEN THEY gave me attitude for not being there to pick us up. The driver of the shuttle didnt even ask our name just said "well there is six of you so I think you're my pick up. He refused to confirm it was for us until I wouldn't get on until he did. On the way home they were over 15 minutes late picking us up at I had to call them as somehow they were at the wrong hotel. We just returned from a vacation in Hawaii. Before leaving home, I booked your shuttle to take us to our condo in Waikiki and again for the trip back to the airport at the end of our vacation. The driver was waiting for us at the baggage claim area, holding up a sign with our name on it. He helped us retrieve our luggage & loaded it onto a cart. We had to wait about 10 minutes for the other 2 couples to get their luggage before leaving the airport. He was very professional and pleasant. Again, when going back to the airport, the driver was on-time (actually a few minutes early), and was very pleasant. The van was clean and seemed quite new.
