    coffee with ube

Parking: there is metered street parking around the area How to find: It is located in a food market all the way to the back. There you will plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to drink your coffee and hang out with your friends. They also sell nice merch! Drinks: One odd thing, there is no menu at this coffee shop. The worker had to list out the drinks she could make along with their ingredients. I asked for the first thing that caught my attention: ube. To which, it tasted phenomenal. It wasn't too bitter or too sweet of coffee. I'd like it and would order again.

First timer, and my friend and I weren't the greatest fans. He had their cold brew, which he stated was really watered down and I had the "G" spot latte which barely tasted of caramel or honey. I will say that they have potential given the nice outdoor seating they have and the workers were welcoming, it's just a matter of perfecting the drinks.

We were walking around the area and saw this coffee shop so we at decided to stop by. It's a small, cute shop with a variety of coffee options alongside some pastries and donuts. We ordered a small black coffee which we enjoyed! I honestly wouldn't say that it tasted different from a standard black coffee at most places and it's a bit on the more bitter end, but it gets the job done and satisfies the coffee craving. I didn't get any of the pastries when I was there but they all looked really good, especially the donuts. They have both indoor and outdoor seating available and there were plenty of places to sit when we came on a Saturday morning. The ambiance here both indoors and outdoors is nice and gives off a hipster vibe. The store is relatively quiet so I feel like it would be a good option to work or study in the area. It is located in DTLA so parking is a bit difficult but that's expected for the area; we parked at a nearby parking structure with a flat rate of $7.

Grabbed some coffee while waiting on a brunch order from another restaurant in the food hall. The iced dirty chai was good. A little bit too sweet. I would've liked a more potent chai flavor, but overall it was solid. At $8, I do feel that it was a little too pricey.

Ok ok. So hear me out. This place just opened. And I swear it really feels like a "you get what you pay for" in the best way possible. This is more for people who like their coffee sweet. Since I'm not a black coffee person, I can't tell you anything on that. Iced Vanilla latte - perfectly sweet. It tastes juuuuust a little different. I can't put my finger on it. Why? Because the owner MAKES his own vanilla! Not store bought. No. I mean... he brought out his jar to show you kind of freaking vanilla! Blueberry lavender coffee - I think I have the name right. I dunno. He recommended to my coworker. I wish I had thought to ask! I have NEVER tasted anything like this ever. I can't even compare it to anything. Also sweet, so I only recommend to those with a sweet tooth. But DEFINITELY try. Also sold: ube Oreo rice krispy treat and black sesame rice krispy treat. Can't comment because I didn't try it. Place doesn't have a menu yet for their coffee. Seriously... it's that new. Extra points for cuteness. Owner has a cute white little dog that roams around like a mascot. Parking: street parking. There is a parking garage nearby. I parked a block away at a lot for $10. I know. Pricey. But I was here for lunch and just happened to stop at the coffee shop Location: almost missed it. But look for the address number. It's placed in an alley but pretty visible once you're at the alley entrance. It's located in the back. I went to Broken Mouth and the owner there recommended this coffee spot. Whole food court feels up and coming and wouldn't be surprised if this place starts to blow up (minus the Pizza Hut... cuz... you know... not so unique. But whatever. Lol) vegan restaurant located nearby as well.

This might be the new coffee shop I've been searching for in downtown la. Not only is their employee of the year a cute dog, James the barista on site asked me if I wanted my latte sugar free, which is so rare in this day and age when just going into certain drink stores I can taste the sugar in the air. Dog friendly Milk alternatives Unique lattes Friendly staff And most important They give treats to your fur baby if it's their birthday albeit we came a day late I highly recommend this spot for any dog owners and lovers a like because even if you don't have a dog you can go see their employee of the year

Came to this area to try out some nearby food with high expectations.... But that's for another review... Virtu Coffee is a small quaint coffee shop that mix's a good blend of indoor and outdoor use. So whether your looking to chill inside or out, you have options. The prices were just okay but the taste was definitely worth it. I got a blueberry matcha latte with oatmilk they made it really quick and it looked delicious. Sorry I have no pictures because I dived right in. The service was also good as they let us eat our lunch here as well and they were very friendly. So overall for a spot to chill and have coffee this is definitely a sweet spot.

Lovely neighborhood shop run by the coolest dude James and his pup, Melo. Since opening, I've become a regular as I am a resident of Santee Court. And consider them my friends now. The coffee is delicious! My go-to is an extra hot latte with a splash of vanilla syrup (which James makes from scratch!) Try the Dirty Matcha and the Nutty Professor. James has recently added more specialty drinks for your enjoyment. Absolutely delicious! There's also bomb pastries by Pavone. I'm obsessed with a few haha. Try the matcha or citrus donut. Or the ham and goat cheese pastry -- but leave one for me, ok? Always nice ppl around, too. In fact, most who stop by are residents who just happen to be cool, talented, and creative people. Very much a community stop and super chill vibes. Welcomed and important addition to Santee Court. Pups welcome too Love you, Virtu!

Not sure what I come back for, the exquisite coffee or engaging conversation. Maybe the fresh local plants and flowers hanging for sale in the window. Either way, I'm hooked and won't stop coming back. The founder's vision for a community centered around artfully crafted beverages is inspiring and can be felt in each coffee you receive. It's the only place I get anything flavored as the vanilla syrup is infused with real vanilla beans. None of that Torani bullshit. No corners cut.

Virtu is an awesome coffee shop that never disappoints! The coffee, crafted lattes, and customer service are all top quality and stand out amongst other coffee shops. I regularly visit Virtu when I'm in the area. They're open until 5:00pm which is very convenient for getting work done on my laptop. Plus, I love hanging around their indoor/outdoor seating. Great drinks, yummy snacks, good people, fast wifi, nice weather - love everything about this spot!

Great sunny spot with a large patio! I got the iced oat latte with Burberry lavender and it was very refreshing.

Tucked away down the santee court apartments alley, been coming regularly to this coffee shop since they opened. Coffee is delicious my go to is the iced vanilla latte.

    Cara E.

Loved that they were open at 7:00am! Easy to find! There was no menu displayed yet so I asked what kind of flavored lattes they had. I got the blueberry lavender which was a homemade syrup. It was delicious! I don't like a strong floral taste so the blueberry with the lavender made it very smooth!

I ordered the Orange Mint Latte, Matcha Sparkling Lemonade, Einspanner White, Hibiscus Mint Sparkling Lemonade, and of course, a cortado. I also tried their Wagyu Sliders. Every drink was fantastic. What I really enjoyed was how different each one was from the next. It didn't feel like I was ordering variations of the same drink -- each had its own flavor profile, presentation, and unique touch. The Orange Mint Latte was especially interesting, and both sparkling lemonades were refreshing and completely different from what I would normally order. The Einspanner White was another standout. Overall, it was a really fun variety to try at once. The cortado was also very good. It had a nice flavor, smooth texture, and was easy to drink. Their approach is a little different from a traditional cortado presentation because the espresso and milk are fully integrated together rather than finished with latte art. I actually appreciate that style when it's executed well because the focus is more on getting the espresso and milk completely incorporated into one cohesive drink. The presentation across the entire order was also really well done. You can tell there's thought behind how everything is served and put together, which adds to the overall experience. The Wagyu Sliders were great as well. I think the food side of Archives of Us deserves more attention because they have some genuinely good food options to go along with the drinks rather than the food feeling like an afterthought. The space itself is beautifully designed with plenty of seating inside as well as an outdoor seating area. I love the overall atmosphere and aesthetic -- there are certain details about the design, presentation, and experience that remind me of coffee shops I've visited in Japan. The staff made the experience even better. Everyone was extremely friendly, kind, and welcoming. Overall, Archives of Us has a lot going for it. A beautiful space, great service, thoughtful presentation, a strong variety of drinks, solid coffee, and food worth trying as well. It's especially nice to find a coffee shop where I actually want to explore the menu beyond my usual cortado. Definitely the type of place I could see myself coming back to once a week.

It's a very cute and cozy coffee shop and there was no line when we arrived. The menu had a huge selection of different coffee and tea drinks and also a seasonal menu. The staff were very kind and patient and swiftly prepared the Vienna Latte and Hojicha Latte we ordered. The Vienna Latte is so visually stunning, the layers of white milk, brown espresso, thick white cream, brown cocoa powder and Biscoff layered on top of each other against the dark green logo was so aesthetic. Having a sip before mixing the Vienna latter was incredible, the sweet cream followed with the nutty strong espresso flavour then getting a refreshing splash of milk made a great combo with the Biscoff. I actually liked the drink less after its all mixed because it was too creamy for my taste. (I normally like my coffee black) My hojicha latte was great, but it was also too milky for me. So I went up and asked if it would taste good dirty, with an espresso shot in it, and the barista said yes. I ordered an espresso shot and instead of charging me full price, they only charged me the add on espresso shot for the drink! ($1.50 instead of $4) It was very kind of them since it was absolutely my mistake for not ordering the right drink in the first place. The shot added much depth and flavour to the hojicha latte I was craving. Thanks for the wonderful service. I'm definitely coming back to try their other specialty drinks.

Any of their cream tops are honestly perfection and probably what makes the drink for me. The matcha itself is rich, creamy, and really smooth. I wouldn't necessarily say it's super strong, but it's definitely not weak either. It doesn't have as much of that bitter/earthy matcha taste. The drinks do lean on the sweeter side, which is kind of a dilemma for me because the cream is SO good, but it also takes away from the matcha a little. I love the cream and wouldn't want less of it, but I do wish the matcha came through a bit more. Additionally, the cup is pretty small And getting matcha here is honestly a whole DEDICATED JOURNEY. Both of us really enjoyed the drinks, especially the orange espresso tonic. It was refreshing, clean, and easy to drink. Normally, they include double shots of espresso, which may have tasted stronger for me since my husband wanted three shots, and I usually stick with two shots. The double mango matcha uses fresh fruit syrup so the mango flavor was not too strong and my drink was very creamy due to the signature mango cream on top. Usually, I would enjoy a creamy matcha but it made me more thirsty on a hot day. The service took a bit of time since they had to mix my matcha the legit way with the bamboo whisk. The matcha tasted like premium, ceremonial matcha since it was stronger and authentic in taste. Overall, both drinks were enjoyable but if I had to choose one, I would go with the orange espresso tonic even though I love mango matcha!

You know the most dangerous drinking game is seeing how long I can stand without coffee on…read moreweekdays. Let's begin this new coffee adventure. Van Dyke Coffee Roaster (est. 08/2025) is a relatively new coffee shop in Koreatown, Los Angeles, at West Olympic Blvd. The cafe features a very spacious interior x outdoor seating; thus, it works equally well for focused work sessions, study days, or a relaxed midday break. They have copious signature lattes, hot/cold coffee, coffee bags, pastries and friendly baristas. Their interior decor is modern with long maple wood center table and a relaxing atmosphere. I came late morning to grab a Flat white. And it was strong despite its hobbit size--8oz-- appearance albeit good quality. The female barista who wore a pulchritudinous blue checkered, white folded sleeves that almost matched my blue/white striped long-sleeved shirt was assiduous. I could have absconded with her. lol. Anyways, their service was spot on, however, the price seems above market price. Overall, I had a good experience from VDC. I recommend you visit.
