Pizza had almost no sauce and was burnt. The "pepperoni" was giant slabs of seitan. Got an Alfredo pasta that was $19 served in a tiny desert dish. Mod pizza makes a better vegan pizza at half the cost. Their ranch is good though. Never again. They also charged me $2 for 2oz side of marinara

Came in on a Tuesday around 3pm and the place was quiet. I was excited to try Virtouos pies out and sat down to look things over before I decided since I was the only guest in there.. The pizza was just okay so I ordered a side of marinara sauce and hot honey to dip the slices in.. both were $2 each and a small ramekin size. And served cold.. cold sauces for my hot pizza? hmm.. okay.. I ordered the spinach and artichoke dip to dip my slices instead.. pretty good. I liked this the most. I wasn't super stoked on my lunch so I decided to try a couple desserts to make the lunch better.. they were just okay too.. the seasonal canoli was supposed to be apple pie but instead came with apple pie cream and no actual baked fruit.. The guy at the counter was slow with ordering and making my drink.. meh..

When my friend and I had our flight delayed from Sac and we finally landed in PDX we already knew we were going straight to Virtuous Pie for some vegan pizza. This is what happens when two vegans from Sacramento land in Portland's wonderland of vegan foodie options. We indulge! We made it there shortly before closing and ordered two pies (Super Funghi and Stranger Wings), garlic knots, and scoops of Salted Caramel & Chocolate Pretzel ice cream. I've been to Virtuous Pie in Vancouver's Chinatown, but this was a first time for me at the Portland location. The pizza was good (especially the spicy Stranger Wings, which I prefered) but felt that everything was a tad overcooked. The garlic knots were even slightly burnt. Maybe we caught them on an off night because they were close to closing, but knowing their pizza from Vancouver I can say I've had better from them. Personally I'd also prefer Sizzle Pie if I had to choose between the two vegan pizza places, but I'm definitely not opposed to coming back here for more. I'd also recommend trying out the ice cream, because the flavors are creative and ever-changing. #2VS

AJ was amazing!! She took such good care of us and made the best recommendations. She made us feel welcome and at home. I am so glad we came here. Also - The pesto was SO GOOD.

Had heard great things about this place and am looking forward to going back. We only stopped by for ice cream and homemade waffle cones this go round, but will definitely be back to try pizza, mac n cheese and other delicious goodies. We were kindly greeted upon walking in! We gave the Marionberry and Stawberry & Cream a shot. They were good flavors. Felt a bit overpriced for ice cream but it was still worth it. Looking forward to checking out additional menu items upon our return!

Portland Pizza Week is here! I tried two places today and it a fun discovering new pizza flavors. Don't miss out - the week is almost over! Here are some tips to make the most of it: 1 Explore nearby pizza spots and try different flavors. 2 Check out their special Pizza Week pies. 3 Note their open times as some places may have limited hours. 4 Vegetarians, fear not - there are plenty of veggie options available! 1. @virtuous_pie-Pepper Ann They had a really light and healthy taste, and the place itself was really cool, with an amazing dessert menu. It's a great spot for date night or hanging out with friends.

    Blue Lavender Ice Cream

I had a hankering for ice cream so I can only comment on that. Everyone was super friendly, and the space had a chill, clean vibe. The blue lavender ice cream was delicious and super creamy. Decadently refreshing if that's something that's possible. I'm sure I'll have pizza here at some point but for now the ice cream is good enough!

    Pepper Ann Slice
    Shane W.

We decided to try the pepper ann slice here for pizza week, and we didn't enjoy it very much. While there can be some leeway for vegan food lacking in flavor, this was far from acceptable. Every single component was below average in flavor. It was genuinely one of the worst slices we've ever eaten, worse than frozen pizza.

Very unique and excellent pizza options. The mac & cheese was the best vegan version I've had. The staff were all very nice.

You can absolutely smell the fish and vinegar as soon as you walk through the door, which I think gives the place a very homey pub feel. I ordered a spiked peach Arnold Palmer, which I enjoyed (and it was pleasantly strong) and a glass of the house white, which was good for the price. Our server was very fast and attentive. To eat I got the tomato soup with a grilled cheese, which was absolutely fantastic. The soup was so creamy and flavorful, and I cannot imagine a better meal after spending all day walking outside in the rain. The fries were super crispy and I liked the batter. My partner and I shared some of their breadsticks, which were deliciously baked (fresh!) and came with a super refreshing basil crema and a nice tomato-y dip. Wonderful all. My partner ordered fish and chips, and was surprised to find that it is one large fillet of fish, not multiple pieces like you would typically expect. He said the fish was fine, but a little tough. Overall, a wonderful experience. I definitely hope to return. I highly recommend this place as a refuge during the cold winter months!

Experience: I visited Top Burmese for dinner with a friend and was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. This was both of our first times. I am vegan while my friend is not and we had no struggle finding options that suited our needs. What stood out: Service: The staff was knowledgable and checked in on us frequently. Our food only took about 20 minutes to come out despite a busy dinner rush and we were offered chili flakes to spice up our curries. was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. Food: For the table, we ordered the samosas which were perfectly flaky and filled with fresh veggies. I ordered the ruby garden non alcoholic beverage as well as the tofu curry with coconut rice. Every bite and drink of what I ordered tasted unique and made with intention. The samosas were incredible dipped into what tasted like a sweet and sour chili sauce. My tofu curry and coconut rice had a delightful blend of textures and tasted like no other curry I have ever had before. Ambiance: The atmosphere is so cozy with Burmese decor alongside dim lighting. She had recommended it, was excited to share it with us. There was no single incident that explains what happened. Instead, it was a series of interactions that became increasingly dismissive, hostile, and ultimately humiliating. The first moment that gave us pause came when my friend's ID was returned so carelessly that it landed on the floor. The server then walked away without explanation, only to return and inform us she would not be serving us drinks. Being denied a drink was never the issue, though the manner in which it was handled felt abrupt and unwarranted. When we attempted to understand the concern, there was no effort to communicate, clarify, or review the additional identification we had available, including a passport. Instead, the interaction became increasingly adversarial. We were told we could cause the restaurant to lose its liquor license and were ultimately instructed to leave. At that point, it no longer felt like a conversation about identification. It felt like a complete breakdown in professionalism and basic respect. Before leaving, my friend calmly asked to speak with someone in charge. She was visibly upset, holding back tears, but remained composed throughout the interaction. Rather than attempting to understand or de-escalate the situation, another staff member escalated it further, becoming confrontational and referring to her as a "bish." I have worked in food service and understand that mistakes happen. Portland has no shortage of exceptional restaurants. I would spend my time and money elsewhere. 0/5
