Hands down best vegan pizza for a very reasonable price. We loved the BLT and margarita pizzas. The kids had no clue they were vegan. I wish that the actual building had better seating. I'm a pain when it comes to pizza, I have a moderate sensitivity to gluten and my doctor recently asked me to eat mostly plant based due to some health issues. I thought I would never have a delicious, gourmet pizza in a restaurant again, though I've made some pretty good ones at home. Enter Virtuous Pie. I had my doubts, as vegan food out can be hit or miss. Well, surprise, surprise, this place is amazing! I had the "meatball" and chevre pizza on a gluten free crust. The knowledgeable staff informed me that the "meatballs" do contain a bit of gluten. Since I'm only moderately sensitive, I went for it and I didn't have a reaction. The pizza was freaking amazing with a crispy, crunchy crust that tasted great, despite the lack of gluten. The sauce was good, pizza was cheese-y and the meatballs were deliciously meatball-y. My partner had the wings pizza and I tempted the gods of gluten further by trying a piece, still didn't have a reaction. His was tasty too, topped with yummy buffalo sauced cauliflower wings and bleu cheese. My partner said, " I don't usually like thin crust pizza, but this crust is great!" We did feel our wine and beer were a bit overpriced, but this was a minor quibble. The service was friendly, fast and informative. This place just opened about a month ago but we needed pizza for our long drive back to Salt Lake City, and I have a ton of dietary restrictions. It was so cool to learn that this place is 100% plant based. That's one of the things that made us want to try it! But even if you're someone that can eat whatever they want, whenever they want... Nope, Nope, Nope. Do not go here. Went there and ordered a single scoop of Hawaiian Vanilla ice cream in a cone, sounds simple right? I guess not for this place, that order was far too much for the 8 employees and there was only one person in front of me. Waited 10 minutes, then they gave me the order in a cup, I told them in should be in a cone, and then another 3-5 minutes passed and they came back with a cone with one scoop of Vanilla on top and something else below it which was black. That was their weird charcoal ice cream which how could anyone like that crap. Also the skinny white dude with a beard and dad hat on was touching his beard and then handling food. Considering it is all vegan, I am surprised by how little it even matters -- it is delicious regardless. Everything was very well balanced. I could the whole pizza and still not feel bloated or stuffed. Light and delicious. Great flavor combinations. We tried 4 pizzas in all and everyone loved each one. You can't go wrong. Virtuous pie is every vegans dream. They have just about every type of pizza topping combo that you could think of and delicious ice cream. We've pretty much tried all of the pizzas and generally liked every one of them. The interior is also always clean and staffed with friendly people. My only dislike about Virtuous is their chocolate cherry burboun ice cream. We got a pint on accident and there was about 50% ice cream and the rest was huge giant excessive amounts of cherries. I've been wanting to try this place since last summer, but never got around to it. I also found out my cousin worked at Virtuous Pie in Vancouver, BC. And finally, today, I was able to make a stop. We got the spicy buffalo and corn pies, recommended by my cousin. Absolutely amazing!! Super tasty and no way can you tell the pies are vegan! The ginger beer is also yummy - with real ginger inside. I highly recommend! We were able to split two pies among three of us. A little pricey if getting a $14 personal pie for yourself, but the splurge is probably worth it once in a while! read more

The best vegan and gluten-free pizza ever! This restaurant is amazing, they do a great job to accommodate those with gluten allergies and celiac's. They were very careful and were able to clean a part of the oven, so that I could have a gluten-free margarita pizza. Love that they have multiple Vegan Parm cheese options. so good! last time i went i got their 2 slices with a side deal, i chose the kale salad. idk what the timeframe is for it but i think it was around 4 or so when i went. i also added on a lavender lemonade, i think it came out to $14. i've been here more than twice now, i don't like to eat out too often but i love their food and everything i've had has been so tasty. casual, seat yourself, get your own water, napkins, etc. but the plating is nice, the food came out in a timely manner and overall i suggest this place to people often. read more

My casual enjoyment of VP has slowly grown into an obsession. It's entered my dreams and I often find myself in states of uncontrollable lust for the delectable toppings and perfectly nuanced crust. During my last visit I dined with such reckless abandon that my beard was a smear of sauce and melted ice cream. I have never known such states of divinity; though I've begun getting some unusual glances from my fellow patrons as my orgasmic groans of contentment seem to disturb others. Awesome vegan pizza. I liked the buffalo cauliflower pizza the best, but you can't go wrong with any pizza here it seems like. I also found the kombucha to be really tasty! It was well flavored without that sometimes overpowering acidic/stinky note that kombucha can have. I think what's great about the pizza here is that, rather than being an afterthought, vegan pizza is front and center. At other places with meat options it seems like the vegan pizzas never have as much thought in them. So far Virtuous Pie my favorite pizza place in Portland! Definitely stop by. We're from Hawaii, and you would imagine that we would have plenty of choices to pick when it comes to vegan food - well we definitely don't have a pizza place that caters to just vegans. We had the Ultra Violet ands the Pesto one (can't remember the name) - they were both very tasty. We wish they would make one in Hawaii! We would definitely frequent this spot if it were near by. Parking was a little confusing - but we're not from here - so there's that. We enjoyed every bite of these pies! My only complaint is that the person working the counter seemed very hesitant to let us order the brunch pizza even though there was 5 minutes left to order brunch. I knew right away that the Kim Jack pizza would be my jam given that it had kimchi and jackfruit - two of my favorite things. They serve local beer and wine on tap and ice cream either by the scoop, flight or in a waffle cone. Out of the three that we tried, lavender lemon was the best. When I went full vegan pizza was one of those foods I missed more than anything, it's hard to find a vegan pizza that tastes good and that the cheese actually melts. Virtuous Pie is amazing! Our favorite is the "Stranger Wings" you must try it! Also, the Jalapeno-Cilantro infused Vodka drink is one of the best I've had. The standout was definitely the Superfunghi, which my boyfriend described as having a, "masterfully created flavor." My wife and I joined with 3 other friends for a late afternoon lunch. We enjoyed the entire experience. We ordered four different pizzas, the cheese and pate board & drinks. Two of us found the vegan pate to be very rich and delicious however some of our party found the texture a little upsetting, a little too real. The cheese was yummy with a little spice to it. The bread slices were a little large and I found cutting them in half made it possible for everyone to have some. The pizza was tasty with a thin crust and a nice balance of flavors. We has a Superfungui, the Ultra Violet, a Calabrese and a Margharita. I would recommend any of them. I will order th Superfungi and Ultra Violet again soon. They do not have a large drink menu but the ingredients were fresh and well balanced. They do not have a lot of space so if your group is larger than 5 you may face seating issues if you show up at a busy time. We will return soon. We were too full for the icecream. read more
