I had the BEST experience coming to VFE. I was in the middle of marathon training and got injured and was out for three weeks. The pain was so unbearable while running I had to seek for help. My friend recommended me to go to Julio from VFE and within one session I felt so much better. He worked on my IT band and psoas, explained the right way to recover after a run. In 2016 I got a piriformis injury during marathon training. It kept hurting me but I ignored the pain and ran 2 other marathons after that. Finally the injury got so bad that I could barely run 3 Miles. In 2017 I was registered for 4 marathons and an ultra, the injury was so bad that I had to DNS every single one of those races. I was devastated. In 2018 I finally decided that Ive had enough and started seeing JULIO consistently to address my injury. After just 3 sessions I finally started feeling better. I was able to run again, even if it was just 3 Miles. Now it has been over 4 months of consistent massage therapy with Julio and I am SO SO SOOO happy to be able to call myself a runner again. I came to see Chris about 6 months ago after being in severe back pain for about 3 months. I was so sad about my back pain because it caused me to stop doing the things I loved such as lifting. Even simple things like getting out of bed or picking things up off the ground became unbearable. After seeing Chris on a weekly basis for the first month, I start to see a significant decrease in my pain and also more mobility in my movements when I was lifting. I love that Chris takes his time during each session and gives you an explanation of what he's doing and where you're pain is coming from. I've had the luck to have work done by both Tricia and Rich, although Tricia has become my regular therapist. They are both amazing! Tricia is very intuitive and knowledgeable regarding the human body and especially as it relates to issues due to athletic performance and exertion. My most definite go to Physical Therapy professional experts. As an athlete and specially an ultra runner my body takes severe punishment and it is very important to have the body muscles in perfect alignment and nice and relaxed. Rich Lorton and his staff are very knowledgeable on what every athlete needs to be efficient for their particular sport. Rich will educate the athlete on the muscle structure and why sometimes our pain might coming from the spot we feel it. If you are an active person with a nagging injury, highly recommend you visit with Rich. I've held back on training for another Ironman figuring my current injury would lead to my retirement. I do not know where to start with this review as VFE and Rich have been a big component to my physical and mental well being. I recall the days where Rich would set up in the lonely corner of Cross Fit Ganbatte (2012ish) with few to clients before everyone realized the riches Richie rich had to offer. When I started with Rich I had chronic back pain that stemmed from an injury. I was going to the chiro regularly that helped for a min but cleared out my wallet real quick. I saw a phys med md that was eager to offer me steroid injections. I went to physical therapy that temporary relieved symptoms, but as I continued to train my pain continued to progress and affect my daily activities. Tricia is so awesome that I had to open a yelp account under my husband's email to give her the individual review she deserves =) We have had the opportunity to get massages from Tricia back when she used to do comp sessions under Rich's mentoring back in 2013. From the get go, Tricia has always been very attentive and thorough with each of her sessions. She identifies your problem areas, works out all your tight spots, increases mobility and relieves those aches and pains.
