Review from a first-time eye exam participant. I had my first ever eye exam (I'm 22- way behind, I know) with Dr. Chandler, and while she and her staff were pleasant enough, it all seemed kind of fast. There were a lot of appointments that day, that could have been the reason. I didn't feel like I was explained why my eyes are the way they are (although, I'm not sure that's possible?). I just thought I would be more informed. Thus, I am deducting one star. I must say, however, that one of their ladies on the sales floor, Dona, blew me away. She earns a five-star review all by herself. I was very self-conscious browsing the frames and she was kind and patient with me as I tried on at least a dozen pairs of glasses before going back and forth between three pairs. All throughout it, she would hover (but not inappropriately so) and offer compliments on glasses she thought matched my eyes and my face. For someone that has never worn glasses in her entire life, it was so nice to be made to feel beautiful in a time such as this. After I finally selected my frames, Dona walked me through what my insurance would cover for the cost of the frames and lenses. She also recommended transition lenses because she learned (by actually listening when I spoke to her- not common for sales people) that I can't drive without sunglasses. I wasn't comfortable buying a second set of sunglasses after forking over a pretty penny for my glasses, so this is a great option for me. She also looked at my prescription and explained that by looking at it, that I don't see well in low light and glares are intensified for me at night (explains MY ENTIRE LIFE. Why couldn't my doctor tell me this?), and so she recommended a type of lens that would reduce the glare and improve the amount of light I take in. Yes, I realize that she is upselling, but she is doing so in a way that benefits me and didn't push any of it on me. She also answered all of my questions and was pleasant and offered humor at appropriate times that helped calm my nerves. Thank you so much, Dona. You are an angel. Vision Works needs to give you a raise! I'll be back; if only to visit with Dona again (and pick up my glasses). :) read more

Dr. Lesa Davis was great. Probably the most informative eye exam I've ever had. She took the time to explain certain terminology and lenses to me. I never once felt like she was trying to sell or scare me into something I didn't need, which is usually the case with the Optometrist I've been seeing for the past 5 years. :) read more

We have been going to Dr Chandler for years now. We won't go anywhere else. She is very informed and up to date on all the new technologies. She is so warm and inviting and puts you right at ease. I do recommend you make an appointment because everyone loves her, so she is pretty busy and it just saves you time. They do take walk in's so you will get seen, but she is busy. Her staff is very efficient. They always follow through with appointment reminders, and can help with insurance questions. We got our daughter's prescription yesterday but the office that we always go to has a very few selection for children's frames, so we decided to go over here. Used to be EyeMaster. Made sure that they are taking VSP. Lots of frames to choose from. Staff (especially Ally) was very nice. Even the other tall lady that works by the front desk was nice too. But Ally helped us personally and after all her calculations we only paid $70+, this include our co-pay $20, light lens(forgot what it's called??) anti-reflective, anti scratch, 1 yr warranty for $15. Although personally we don't need the warranty, I still took it just in case (my kid is only 7 y.o.). So from previous experiences... $70 is cheap! We'll definitely recommend this place. And I hope they don't change staff because they are perfect! read more

We've been going to Visionworks for years and have always had a good experience. Today I went in because of one the lenses in my glasses had a crack in it. I've been wearing glasses for 30 years and never had this happen. Anyway, I spoke with Toni (the manager) and told her my problem. She went above and beyond and replaced the lens stating is was a lab error when they were cutting the lens. When I went in, I was prepared to have to pay for the cost of replacement but she could tell that it wasn't due to my neglect. I highly recommend this location of Visionworks especially Toni!! read more

Great location.. walked in at 430pm did the eye exam. Found glasses for my son and walking out 530pm simple, easy, and fast...plus buy one get one!! My son first pair. We was scared that he will break or lose one but we got buy one whole pair get another whole pair free. Dona was fantastic!!! She took care of us. It only took us 1hr to be done!!! Dona was fantastic!! I originally bought my glasses there. Recently I had my frames adjusted (somewhere else), and they were nearly ruined due to being bent way too much to the point of being practically unusable, not to mention their design was ruined. I brought them in to Visionworks, and by the time Dona was done they were like new. These were frames it took me forever to find that suit me perfectly and I was very worried about being able to have them readjusted to the way they were before. Dona took care of me and was super nice about it. I would recommend this store and her to anyone looking to get glasses. read more

Helldorado will freeze over before I order eyeglasses from Visionworks again. My complaints are as follows: I have been wearing bifocal glasses for 20+ years. The bottoms of the bifocal lenses perfect for reading or typing on my laptop. With the top of the lens I would see the TV. The only problem with those bifocals was that when I was traveling in the car, I could not see details in the distance. As a result I decided that I wanted trifocals so that I could see the keyboard of my laptop. the television on the wall, and the details of the landscape. In essence that's what i told the woman optometrist who examined my eyes. She told me absolutely nothing about what changes I would notice in the usefulness of my glasses when I switched from a bifocal to a trifocal, which is something she should have done. She should have told me that the way Visionworks manufactures a trifocal lens, there is only a thin very area at the bottom of the lens, and as a result the new trifocal lenses would be pretty close to useless in terms of reading a book or typing on my laptop. After my completely useless encounter with Visionworks optometrist, I was handed off to the saleswoman who measured my face size as part of the normal process of prescribing eyeglasses for a patient. Then she really put on the pressure, telling me that because I am so old (64) that I needed two different chemical coatings on my lenses. Of course I believed her on the assumption that the saleswoman was being supervised by the optometrist in saying and doing what the saleswoman did. When I get new glasses I always buy a pair of sunglasses with the same prescription because the glare of daylight in the desert of Las Vegas is very strong. As a result, even though I picked out two of the cheapist frames in the store, my two pairs of trifocal eyeglasses cost $500. l ordered the new glasses so that I would have them before my spouse and I left Las Vegas and traveled to the Gulf Coast where it is warmer in Winter. My glasses arrived at the Visionworks office on time. When I went to pick them up, I couldn't see a darn thing through the lenses, 2 days before we left for our trip. I told the sales woman that I could not see anything at mid-distance or up close from my new glasses and she said "Your eyes will take a couple of hours to adjust to the new lenses." For the rest of that day I could not see anything and it seemed like I was looking at someone in a cloud of fog I ended up reading the newspaper with no glasses on at all. In the morning of the next day I put on those glasses and it was as if their lenses were covered with gunk, and I couldn't see out of them. I cleaned them with a pre-moistened towelette specifically designed for eyeglasses. I could see out of the glasses for 2 hours and then the lenses were all gunked up again. I called Visionworks and talked to the sales lady on duty. She said that the coating on the lenses was reacting to my body heat and that the only thing I I could do about it was use lens cleaner on my glasses again. I did the math and figured out that if at 2-3 hours without touching them, during the 16-18 hours I was awake each day, I would use up one full box of eyeglass clean wipes each day. Whatever Visionworks put into that lens coating, in terms of a chemical, the result is that the eyeglasses cannot be cleaned in the traditional way of exhaling on them and wiping the lung vapor off with a kleenex. As a result, I feel doubly cheated by Visionworks, who impliedly represent that the are selling a product with a patient can wear and improve their vision, not have it obscured with some chemical used in the process of making the Visionworks lenses. I regret choosing to have my eye exam done and my glasses prescribed, ordered and made at Visionworks. My reality is that I spent $500 for 2 pairs of eyeglasses which are completely useless because of the constant problems with the coatings on them, and the lack of meaningful utility by virtue of how Visionworks manufactures their lenses, with the very narrow, close up/reading band that they put on the bottom of each lens. When I have my new glasses from "some other optometris/eyeglass sales store, I intend to take my current glasses back to the parking lot of Visionworks and to smash the Visionworks glasses to pieces on the ground, with my feet if I can. \ That's my Yelp view of Visionworks product line and medical services. read more

Michele has got to be one of the friendless employees that we have met in Las Vegas. On top of that see is very helpful and knowledgeable about eye glasses. Had an exam with Dr. Chandler. She and her staff did a great job explaining my tests and results. I purchased the $35 photo test so I didn't have to have my eyes dilated. I highly recommend it. My health and or vision insurance covered everything but the photo test. I purchased a pair of Transitions driving glasses and a pair of prescription reading glasses. They have a large selection of frames. My insurance covered the frames but the lenses are pricey so I ended up spending just under $300 for my glasses. read more

She was kind enough to have the technician tint my glasses while I waited. The technician personally advised me on the best tint for my eye condition and I couldn't be any happier with my glasses. I called them for an appointment two days ago. I gave some of my demographic and insurance information and it was set. They sent me a text message confirming an appointment at 2pm. I called once their office was open and they said my appointment was actually at 12pm and one of the ladies did a typo during the reminder. Okay, I get there as quickly as I can. I fill up a little bit of paperwork and then they tell me their doctor is out of network. I asked why I wasn't notified or told so in the beginning because when I initially made the appointment and gave my insurance information, they said everything was good. They told me they "left a voicemail" yesterday but I checked while I was still in the office and I didn't have any. I wanted to go to a location near me but how upsetting was this. I called the Visionworks in Meadows Mall and they made sure I will be seen today and confirmed my insurance and doctor is within the network. read more

Very friendly staff, but lacking in results. I went to replace a pair of progressive glasses I lost. Great exam from the doctor, but the staff up front didn't even measure my reading point for the new lenses. And when I got my new glasses they were nearly unwearable. I was told "that's how progressives are" and to get used to it. No. This is not how progressives are. Very unhappy after spending so much money to be told to live with it. read more

This the first review of a business that I have every written, and feel that I must start now. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME !, No appointment on a Saturday morning and expecting to be turned around I was greeted by an amazingly friendly staff and told they would fit me in and instructed to start filling out paperwork. After about a 15 minute wait, I was placed in a very clean and organized room and not long after being seated in he room, my Doctor came in started my exam, I explained about the pair of glasses I was wearing just wasn't working right (purchased elsewhere) and the Dr, took the time to explain how the prescription was wrong and the bi-focal line way too high causing my vison issues. The doctor actually asked many questions and with a full waiting room, was surprised how much time she took with me as well as the compassion that was displayed...I now have new glasses, I can see so much better and am completely satisfied with Vison Works and the Doctors that that have an office within the store. It is a bit of a drive for me to go there, but the results and attention not only by the Doctor side, but time with the tech picking out the lens and fitting was outstanding as well...I am now a customer for LIFE ! The Manager Barbara, goes above and beyond in customer service. I had my last eye exam over 2 years ago in the adjoining office of eye Dr. Davis. I had purchased a new pair of glasses at VisionWorks, and they were very expensive, well over the allowable amount of my insurance. I ended up absolutely hating them. They simply did not fit. The earpiece or frame extended well beyond my ears. I didn't notice this when I purchased, I guess because it was only my second pair ever and I liked what I saw in the mirror. But when I would look at the back of my hair in the mirror at home it looked awful. I couldn't get back in for probably a couple of weeks because I was leaving on vacation, I spoke with the woman who helped me and was basically told there wasn't anything she could do. I don't recall her name she was probably in her 60's. On to this year. I took that pair with me only so I could see for part of my exam and I had an older pair which I was wearing that I just lost one of the plastic nose pads so I wanted to have them replace that because I had decided I was going to get contacts. I mentioned to Barbara as she was repairing my other glasses how bad I hated the glasses that I purchased there before and that I had worn them only a handful of times. Long story short, she had me pick out a new pair of frames, made sure the fit was right and sent them off with my new prescription, all I had to do was give them the old glasses.
