My husband had such a great experience with April at Visionworks in McDonough! She was patient, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond!

I came to get lenses put in frames I already had. Granted, it was the end of the day but one of my pet peeves is an establishment closing early. I arrived at 650pm, as they close at 7pm. There were customers inside but the doors were locked. I waited until an employee opened the door. She shared that I could not be seen because the doctor was not present. I've been to Visionworks many times on a day when the doctor wasn't present and was fully helped. I won't be back to this location. If you choose to go, be warned to come well before closing. You may or may not get an excuse on why you can't be served. read more

After several years going to this office i can no longer continue to visit. I was told by the office manager that the insurance company no longer paid for contact fitting, although my benefits online showed they did and I called while in the office and this was confirmed by the insurance. Despite this, I was told that was incorrect and had to pay in order to get my contacts. When I spoke to my insurance company they suggested I call another location because what I was told sounded shady. Additionally, the manager had pretty poor customer service skills. It's a shame because I've been a patient here for over 15 years but I won't be back. read more

I went for an eye exam and purchased my glasses with no problems. I had to call about the status of my glasses being ready instead of them calling me. When I called to inquire about picking up my glasses I was told to come in but one of my pet peeves is closing a store earl/locking the door 10 to 15 minutes before closing time. They are rude and unprofessional. They closed early and didn't have the decency to inform me that I wouldn't be able to pick up my glasses anyway, because the doctor already left. I will never go back to the store. I complained to corporate about the situation and nothing was done. Take your business somewhere else if you can. read more

Seems like I had the same experience as others. Made an appointment for 3:45. Showed up at 3:30 like the website said to get my paperwork filled out. Left irritated at 5:15 because I hadn't been seen yet. I don't want any compensation, I just want the people to know how much of a terrible operation this is. Seems like they have had this problem for quite some time according to other reviews but yet have to make any adjustments. I know we are in extraordinary times, but I would think that would make appointments even more important. Arrived for my daughter's 11:00 appointment at 10:50. Was not seen by doctor until 12:20. Then seen quickly with dilation and waited about 25 more minutes for the rest of the exam. Need to plan time better. read more

This had to be the worse visit. Appointment was at 11:30am for new patient. Arrived at 11am. Wasn't seen until almost 12:30pm and didn't get fitted for glasses until 1pm. We arrived for our scheduled appointment and was immediately greeted and checked in and we had to wait about 30 minutes. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Very friendly and happy atmosphere. Me and my mom were desperately in need of new glasses and chose Visionworks and we are glad we did. Our representative April was great. She assisted me and mom with our frames and helped us decide which frames would fit our lens. Dr. Chagani was very caring and took her time explaining her findings. She is very personable and please keep the whole staff here because they are a true team!. I definitely recommend to my friends and family. They know how to assist disability, kids and seniors. Please get a changing table for babies to make it more convenient for parents. read more

I show up today and they are requiring digital a picture at a cost of $40. I have this done at the VA yearly at no cost to me but if I want to be seen here they require I pay again for something the VA handles for me. I will not be returning. Honestly, it is easier to go to the eye center at Walmart and get the eye exam there. At least they will not try and bill for additional services that are not needed. read more

Take the one star rating I had to give, and count it as a negative star rating. Worst customer service I've experience since living here, as the customer service in this area is bad enough. Right before Christmas, I went to this location, and some guy greeted me with his back turned. That should had been my sign to leave then and there. Anyway, after buying my glasses, I was still unable to see clear out of them after three weeks. So when I went to have my prescription adjusted, the lady on the right end of the long counter said, "hello, can I help you". As I was walking towards her, her phone ranged, and she answered, and left me standing in front of her face for several minutes. Then the lady on the far left end of the counter called me over. While I was explaining what I needed, her phone wrung too. She answered, and began helping the customer on the phone, and left me standing there for several minutes as well. So after that, I interrupted her and asked her if I could see a manager. She told me she would get one soon. While she took a few more minutes, I placed my hand on the counter, and leaned because I was getting a little tired. Then that section of the counter suddenly gave in. My normal self would have left by now. But since I was in a good mood, I tried to wait it out. Anyway, after that happened, the lady who I was speaking to first, got off her phone and went to get her manager. I don't know if she went to tell her manager I broke the counter on purpose, or if I needed help. All I know is, the manager came out and assisted me with a negative attitude. So when I told her I didn't appreciate her demeanor, I asked for a refund. She instead told me to leave, then threatened to call the cops on me for tearing down there store. So I wounded up having to get my refund at the location 20 something miles away, at the Fayetteville location. I still kinda blame myself for not leaving at the first sign of disrespect. I keep saying these folks in this area are living in a time-warp, and they still think it's 1955. The only reason I didn't take action back in December, was because I spoke to two prepaid-legal lawyers, who foolishly told me Visionworks could have sued me instead, for destruction of property...after I could have been injured. It took a real lawyer to tell me I could have sued the socks off them. So I could have made this into a Starbucks situation if anything, but I wanted to keep the Holiday spirit. Btw, Prepaid Legal is another business that needs to go down. Anyway, Visionworks is history. read more

I called to get my daughter a refill on contacts. The man said that the dr never released the prescription. This is horrible book keeping on their end. I took My daughter back after she wore the contacts for one week. They didn't order me six months supply. Now that I'm going to order more and she's almost out they said the doctor never released the prescription. As a mom I value every appointment for my daughter. Due to someone else's lack of experience, knowledge or just not paying attention and make an error we can't order contacts. Don't go there. You can't trust that your information is gonna be right in the computer. read more

This afternoon my son had an eye exam here at the McDonough location. This is our first time at this location but, have been using visionworks for a couple of years. I WILL NOT be returning to any Visionworks' locations ever. I have never encountered a more deplorable "medical professional" in my life! When my son was called back to the exam room, upon sitting in the chair he politely asked the doctor (Godwin Ekekhomen) if he could please change his gloves. A reasonable question, we saw him moving from patient to patient and we're still in a pandemic. He became indignant! Seriously something I've NEVER encountered from a medical professional! It shocked us both! He began shouting and berating a 16 year old! Stating "Oh please! I'm not going to do that, that's not protocol. Oh please I'm sure you're not even vaccinated yourself." I interjected, "sir, actually he is, but what does that matter?" For general hygiene that should be done. My son said Sir, please change your gloves and pull your mask up!. He continued..."where are your gloves? Why aren't you wearing gloves? My son and I look at each other and ask him "why would he need gloves, he isn't giving you an exam?" He yells "Well I'm not going to be touching you!" He continues, Where's your proof that you are vaccinated?" I proceeded to advise him his actions were extremely unprofessional and I have my son's CDC card in my vehicle if he needed it. He continues, "well that doesn't matter I'm saying changing our gloves isn't protocol." Sigh, listen, if your patient asks you to please change your gloves, you should do so, that should be the only protocol. He told my son to hush when he was approaching him with his mask below his nose. I again advised him he was speaking to a minor and said minor isn't asking you anything that isn't within reason! He grabbed the glove box and put a pair on. He continued the rest of the exam cold and unprofessional. I DID not purchase frames and I advised two of the employees up front why and requested a general manager's contact info. One stated that I would get no where with the general manager and to just call corporate. I intend on doing so followed by an email. Dr. Ekekhomen has zero business conducting himself this way and frankly being a public health risk! He needs to be reported to the medical board if he thinks changing his gloves in between patients "isn't protocol". read more

Horrible service! Employees yelling across the floor what time each of them get off, waited 45 minutes before i was seen by the doctor. I was asked to see my current glass RX , and my glasses were just left on an empty table where another customer came in sat down and began to inspect my glasses as if they were interested in the frame. My insurance information was not placed into the system they attempted to charge me full price for my exam, and most importantly, the doctor lacked beside manners. He appeared agitated and was quite rude. I wont be back and you should skip this location also.. read more

Took my 5 year old here because he's been complaining about his eye sight...the front desk ladies were friendly but it took a lifetime for us to actually see the optometrist. He seemed very impatient and agitated with my child. I would not recommend this vision works for you if you have young children. read more

My husband and I love this place. Easy on the pockets and good for our eyes! I myself am very indecisive when it comes to what style of frames I'ld like and they are always right there to help me out with that. They will schedule your appointment and have you fill out three pages of paperwork (same information on each page), all without mentioning they don't accept your insurance. A quick question when I scheduled would have saved me taking the day off work. This is insurance through the county for goodness sakes. Total waste of my day off. I was desperately in need of some new glasses as the ones I had were about 3 years old and and very scratched. I decided to stop into Visionworks around 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon to take a peek at their selection of frames not quite sure if I was ready to get a new pair. I was immediately greeted upon walking in and after browsing I inquired about seeing the doctor. I was able to get an appointment the same day and not long after filling out my paperwork was I sitting in the chair with the doctor. Miranda was a doll with helping me with selecting my frames and I even picked up a second pair for half off. When the price she first gave me was a little over my budget she worked with me until she was able to get a price that worked for me never complaining or even seeming irritated (because we've all had that experience) Everyone was so nice! While trying on a few pairs even the other associates would chime in and help me decide. I went back and forth between which glasses I wanted and was never rushed not once. I've read a few of the not so great reviews but I didn't experience any of those problems not once. The associates were getting everyone in and out as quick as possible! My son was starting to develop a condition of his eyes crossing. After making an appointment, we were extremely satisfied in the level of care and service we received from the Dr and staff. Went in on a Thursday morning, store not busy yet no one even bothered to acknowledge my presence . We scheduled an evening appointment at this shop. The manager and staff (Sabrina, Andriana and Chelsea) were very courteous and warm, after spending only 42 minutes for service. We were only asked to fill out two pieces of paperwork and received a call prior to visiting the shop to insure that we had appropriate documentation. The service was very expedient, prompt and professional. The optometrist was very professional, but compassionate as she answered all my daughter's questions with patience. Please insure that you check and make sure that you can be served with your insurance so that they can prepare you for an additional expenses, before arrival. All one has to do is ask. I will most definitely return for any eyewear needs. read more

I had the worst experience getting glasses that I have ever had. The frames they sold me were inferior. Their customer service was terrible. They are too worried about the next dollar to make sure that your glasses are right. It took them several tries before i got the right glasses and even then the quality of the frame was so bad that it peeled within the first few weeks. read more

I've been to this location before and the service was mediocre. Recently took my daughter because she had broke her glasses, so I went back because of the availability of appointments. The receptionist that greeted me was welcoming, but everyone after that had horrible customer service skills! He(receptionist) gave me papers to fill out, but I told him I had filled everything out on their website. I completed everything prior because I was going to have all my kids with me(4). Less work for me, ya know. He says, ok he'll pull it up. While waiting, some woman yells from the back for me to fill out the papers. First strike! Why are you yelling across the store to me when someone else is helping me...!? Fast forward, doctor calls us back. Dr. Whitehead definitely isn't customer-friendly either. He barely opened his mouth to even say, "Hello." Keep in mind, the appointment was for my kid, so you'd think he'd be somewhat nice/friendly. That's 2nd strike! Last, they took FOREVER to finish up with us. There weren't many people in there that day, so I don't know what the hold up was. By now, we've been in there close to 2 hrs. My 3 yr gets a little loud and the same woman who was rude earlier tells her to shush! Like really!? The kids are restless. Hell, I'm restless! Don't say s%#* to my kids when y'all are taking forever! Anyhow.... I'm very much done with this store! read more
