I don't know what the other reviews are talking about. I went in for an annual checkup and I had a highly pleasant experience. Everybody was extremely helpful and aided me through the process. The doctor, Lisha Patel, was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and funny. I felt at ease and in good hands. An important thing to note is that the facility was really clean. I was able to try on glasses and sunglasses while I waited for paperwork too which was nice. I will be going back for every future eye exam, no doubt! read more

Reading through the comments, it looks like I'm not alone with the negative experience at this place. VisionWorks in Nashua is appalling. Staff are rude, condescending and combative. The first thing the woman out front mentioned to me was that my insurance doesn't cover my eye exam (It does). The icing on the cake was the fella that was inputting my glasses and contact lens order into the system. He was combative and got very upset that I wanted to cancel my eyeglasses order. Very bad customer service! My husband and I went in for glasses in the beginning of November. Four pairs ! We received 3 pairs and were told that the 4 th pair were snapped by the lab and they didn't have another pair to replace. We were told he had to go in to be restyled. We went in to be restyled and the order did not get put in because they forgot to put it in. After I called because my husband didn't get his glasses within 3 weeks the manager yelled at me that she had no idea who I was and didn't know what I was talking about. She told me she would check with the girl that we were dealing with ( which was her ) she lied to us! She came out to our house to reorder frames and get him all set up. Almost back to the store she called me to prepare us that we may have to pay for the frames that she refunded us in the second time we went in. She called me 20 minutes later to tell me that her supervisor said we would have to pay for the glasses . There were so many screw ups during this whole process that I will never buy from them again! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THESE PEOPLE. We will see if we get my husband's glasses. My next step is contacting corporate headquarters and reporting them to the Better Business Bureau! read more

The Dr was nice to deal with although if find it strange that both my wife and I were told we had early stages of cataracts. a second opinion reveals we do not ! I am giving then customer facing front end staff 1 star and if I could Zero. I wanted to have the new lenses put into my frames (3months old). but was told that they are no good ! just to upsell me on frames. I Went into the Mall where Cohens were more than happy to help . The woman I talked to on the phone was very rude. I lost my paper prescription for my contacts and I was trying to have them email me my prescription but she told me she couldn't email me my prescription because it's top secret information. I asked how I was supposed to get my prescription and she said I have to come pick it up which is inconvenient for me because I live far away. She then proceeded to tell me it's not her fault that I lost my prescription and there's nothing she can do to help me. Her overall tone of voice was rude the entire conversation. I was a patient at Pearle Vision in Tyngsboro and they closed there doors without telling any of there patients. When I showed up on Saturday 11/25/23 with what I thought was a prescription, was actually a reciept from my exam. Instead of being sent home to try and find the RX, Christine got on the phone and called the next closest Pearle Vision to see if she could get some answers which she did, and was able to get a copy of my RX faxed over so I did not have to come back. Very pleased with amazing service and quick turnaround on 2 pairs of prescription sunglasses from Columbia. Driving is so much easier. The optometrists also advised me that I had special progressive lenses, which wasnt described to me where i had previously boughten them. This information has totally changed how I look thru my glasses. The manager was very experienced and assisted me in finding the best pair of sunglasses for my face! VSP promoted Visionworks so we tried them. we have had VSP for years and this is the first time we ever had a problem with charges we always get a contact exam and this is the only place that you have to have an eye glass exam also they do this so they can charge you for one because the other is covered by insurance and they don't tell you until after the exams were performed. Terrible customer service and extremely unprofessional. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I made an two online appointments for my sister and I. I did not receive any confirmation for my sister so I went into the store since I could not get in contact with them over the phone. While speaking to Lisha at the front desk, I had simply asked her to confirm the appointments. She was rude and had a bad attitude. I forgot my insurance card so I wanted to ask if I could call later to give my information. Before I could finish my sentence she cut me off and said with annoyance like I was stupid "well we need your information before your appointment." I kept my cool and continued to let her know I did not receive any forms for either appointment and was wondering if there was any other way to fill them out. Again, with an attitude she responded, "if you looked at our website you would see the forms are right on the page." I was able to get everything sorted out weeks before the appointment, but I don't appreciate people speaking to me like I'm stupid. Now, the same day of my appointment, I get a call to verify my health insurance. I give my information over the phone and I'm told my insurance may not cover anything and I will have to pay everything out of pocket. They said they would call me back to confirm. Two hours before my appointment I give them a call again because I have not heard a word from them. I'm on hold for maybe 10 minutes until I get through to headquarters. They try to send me to the store and no one can get through to them. It is now 15 minutes before my appointment and I have not heard anything and I am not showing up to my appointment. I deserve at least a quick call back explaining whatever my insurance situation is to me. Brutal, very disappointing service! The eye glasses I ordered were ALL SCREWED UP! NOT my prescription at all! And worst, they never tested my vision with my NEW GLASSES... never suggested it. So, I trusted them that the job was done right... ya, right! So, I paid for my eye glasses and left with a pair of really screwed up glasses! I have been buying prescription eye glasses for about 60 years... and, never, never have I ever experienced taking new glasses home without somebody at the optometrist shop briefly testing my vision with my new eye glasses FIRST... to check the accuracy of the prescription before the customer pays and takes them home! Do not go to this place, especially if you have insurance. They started sending E-mails saying my wife was due for an exam. They know full well that insurance pays for an exam every two years. My wife scheduled an appointment and when she got there they asked if she had the same insurance. They pull up your account and can see when your last appointment was. After the exam then they tell her she's two months short of two years and has to pay $134. A complete scam. If they've done this to you, call the attorney generals office as I have done. read more

Stopped by to look at some frames and ask some questions. When I arrived I there was no greeting, or "how can I help you" the front desk person completely ignored me. I normally wouldn't see this as a problem but about 30 seconds later someone else walked through the door and she welcomed them and asked how she could help them. I looked around the store for about 15 min with no assistance. When I decided to leave, surprise no "have a good day" or anything so as I was already almost out the door I walked back a bit and said have a nice day to the receptionist who barely gave me a have a nice day back. I booked my eye exam appointment online last week. Ever since I booked the appointment, I started getting flurry of text messages and emails about the appointment and the forms that I needed to fill. I filled the forms, which basically needed my address and insurance info. I selected Visionworks Nashua, because my insurance listed them as in-network. So, I filled the form online, confirmed my appointment the day before the appointment day. I reached the place on time, and the front desk lady said I did not verify my insurance with them, so my appointment was not confirmed. I told them I submitted all the forms online and confirmed the appointment from my side. Then the ladies ( there was another lady who handed my file over to the other lady), started looking in the system and they found my forms and stuff. They started calling the insurance company to verify my info, and could not do it for 45 minutes. I was waiting there patiently. There was no other patient for eye exam or for frames/glasses. It was only me. Then the lady said they have to move my appointment to 1.40 as they are already running late. I was so pissed off and told them to forget it and cancel my appointment. My time is also valuable as theirs. If I book an appointment online and they ask me to submit insurance info online and once I do that it's their responsibility to verify it before my appointment. The employees I dealt with were so irresponsible and the lady who attended me was acting so stupid. She was so inexperienced and had no idea how to use their software. I wasted my valuable time amidst a busy work schedule. I am not going to go back Visionworks Nashua or any Visionworks location. They are like fast food chains, no quality of service, just a bunch of irresponsible and incompetent people who cannot find work anywhere else. read more

Donna was great, I called on a Sunday to see if they could repair my glasses even though I didn't buy them there. She said that they usually don't but told me to bring them in anyway. She went out of her way to treat me and my girlfriend like paying customers and got my glasses fixed within 40 minutes even though there were only two employees there and plenty of other customers. read more

The optometrist I was with for 25 years retired so I had to find someone new. My insurance recommended Visionworks. The optometrist who performed my exam at this location was beyond rude. She was quite condescending when I tried to explain the vision care plan that my former optometrist and I had that I was able to afford. Visionworks is clearly out for money and nothing else. The woman who helped me pick out my glasses was great -- she went out of her way to help me and is honestly the only reason I'm giving two stars. The young lady at the desk forgot to schedule my 5 day follow up after my contact lens fitting (twice) and I had to call back to get an appointment. At my follow up, again the optometrist was hostile. I was given the pictured quote for my contact lenses by another gentleman. Not only did he barely scribble down the quote (in blue pen) but left it up to me to do the final math (in black pen). A complete lack of professionalism exists here. My insurance offers a 20% discount on the contacts. The original price was $715.84 so $572.67 after the discount. I was able to find the exact same contact lenses online for nearly $200 less. I was also told that my glasses would be ready in 7-10 business days. Today is day 9 and, so far, no glasses. We'll see how that goes. I see no reason to go back. read more

Don't bother with this place... My husband and I went in on 1/22/22 to purchase glasses. We tried to go early and there was going to be a 45 minute wait until they could even tell us if they accepted our insurance. We left and did other errands and I called my insurance and was told they were in-network. We went back, signed in and waited about 20 minutes for someone to be free. In that time we had picked out our frames and were ready to order. The woman called our insurance co., got authorization and took all of our contact info and measured our eyes. She apparently forgot to get one piece of info from the insurance co. and a coworker told her to look it up on the main computer at the front desk. She ended up having trouble with that computer, rebooted it and then told us the insurance co website was down. She told us she had all that she needed from us (including the three frames we picked out) and said when there was a bit of downtime she would try the insurance again and place the order. We didn't even know the price at this point and she assured us she would call us with the price before placing the order. Well, 5 days later and still no call so I called to find out about the order. She wasn't in the day I called and so they said she would call back the next day. She called back and said she needed my insurance information because there was nothing in their system about us....WHAT??? We spent about 45 minutes with her, she assured us she had all that she needed to place the order and now all of that is gone??? I said, "you had all our info including the frames we wanted" and her reply was, "well they must have gotten put back"....she never even apologized....I am beyond frustrated and I told her we would be taking out business elsewhere. read more

I had an appointment with Dr. Liaw and he used a new machine that actually takes a picture of the inside of your eye without making you blind for the next two hours. This was great.. Nice and easy. When I received my new prescription, my new glasses were ordered on the spot and in within a week. They fit wonderfully and I have received multiple compliments on them. I made an online appointment due to my glasses breaking for the Pheasant Lane location. My appointment is supposed to be in a little over an hour from now. I just got a call from them that they need to run my insurance before I get there (I've never had an issue with the other location I've gone to before moving). So I called back and was told that Tufts isn't open today and therefore I'd have to pay out of pocket and take it up with them for reimbursement. I asked why I wasn't told before an hour before my appointment and she said it's just an extra step that the customers have to go through for this location. I said I would have had no problem, but I was never told anywhere when I made the appointment online that I needed to call with my insurance information. I said I would have to cancel the appointment then bec the only reason I made the appointment was bec my glasses had broken and I didn't have time to try to get my insurance to reimburse me. She goes "ok, bye" and hung up on me. I cannot believe the level of disrespect that I just encountered. read more

Arrived early asked simply if I was showing two insurances. Clearly a communication breakdown which in the end was my error. I was not rude. Twice I said just use what I have. Because her coworker a gentleman who was very friendly asked about it. She pulled a fit and slams phone down to call the insurance company. WHICH might I add the whole time she yelled and was frustrated with the insurance lady and hung up on them to call back. While in addition to the whole time of my inquiry the front clinical rep had quite an attitude. She then tells me that my secondary insurance expired. It didn't i just companies changed. With work due to a merger. I said sorry and said I would call my company later to straighten it out. She then proceeded to say that well we were now behind 10 min so they have to reschedule. So I decided to use my eye exam time to put in a review. Not my first bad experience with this location or this company in general. Went originally for convenience and at time they took the insurance I had. Now I got new insurance so BYE! Definitely will be my last visit. I specifically took time off to go to appointment. She should of mentioned the time constraint mind you I was the ONLY one in store. Time to find a new eye place. FYI if you still go there DON'T ASK QUESTIONS or anything outside the norm! Update: After my scathing review, customer care contacted me and went out of their way to apologize and turn my frown upside down, so I'm giving back a couple of stars. I still can't say with certainty that their service has improved...I can't even begin to tell you how bad the customer service is here. Total lack of knowledge about the products, getting items in a timely fashion, and continuity with the same doctors. As my usual provider is on sabbatical and this is the only other option my insurance offered, I was stuck...but I'll have my dependents travel an extra 25 miles to go to a different company next month when their exams are due rather than darken the door of this 'insurance mill' again. The doctors themselves were not too bad, but the ordering team, the actual process of getting what was ordered, and the complete lack of concern for me as a customer was appalling enough. read more

I was apprehensive to obtain my glasses here, as the reviews were not the best. I will give Christine a gold star for her assistance in my choice of a frame. She was great. Unfortunately, that was the end of the great experience. As of this date, it has been almost a month and no glasses. Of course my check has been cashed, but the glasses have yet to arrive. I initially went in to pick them up, only to find that the lenses were incorrect and needed to be redone. After another two weeks, they still have not arrived, and I spent the good part of a day to try to uncover the reason. After 1/2 hour on the phone, and a drive to the store, I still have no answer. When I called the store directly, they promised to return my call....but they never did, hence the need to drive down to the store. I implore everyone, don't go here. Despite the initial friendly service, they fail to deliver the goods even after full payment has been made. Very unprofessional response to my problem and not able to handle complaints. Well, she works with the public and should know how to help them, not shout back at them as if it was their problem. It was their problem, and as other reviews have indicated, she never apologized. I received some really amazing customer service at this store recently. Although I am a Vision Works customer, I was not a customer of this particular store. But when I broke my glasses (on a Friday afternoon), I wanted to go here to get them fixed because they are closer to me than my regular store. The manager (Lisha) helped me enormously by driving an hour out of her way (after she got out of work that night) to pick up the frames that I needed, so that I could have them for the very next day. You really don't get better customer service than that! read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. I walked in the door, I was greeted and asked what I was looking for (petite size glasses). He told me what brands had them and pointed me to those brands. He never once came over to help me find the petite ones amongst the regular, never asked or offered to help find what style I was looking for, never came over to me at all. I was the only customer in the store with 2 men working and they couldn't have been bothered to do their job, assisting a customer. I would never go back to this location. read more

If I could give zero to negative stars, I would. We have been going to Visionworks for several years. The only reason we continue is due to insurance. I have written reviews before thinking it can't get worse, it it always seems to. Repeatedly over the years, we never get notified when our products arrive in. It took several years to get them to get all the phone numbers correct, and then they still couldn't keep straight that the kids and I wanted notification on my phone and my husband on his own. FINALLY started to get notice of glasses coming in, but every single time my daughter gets glasses, we have to change the prescription within the first 30 days (she is tough to pinpoint due to an eye issue), then we never get notified when the new lenses are in. Every year with every one of us, we here the same thing--we called, and they give us the day they did so. I do not delete recent calls from my phone, nor do I delete voice messages, so there would be two records of said call when they say they have left a message, yet there is never a record of it anywhere. They also don't talked to each other. One will tell you that they don't need your frames to make the lenses, then when you finally find out the lenses are in, they aren't cut because they need the frame. There is only one individual that can ever fit glasses well to someone who gets headaches triggered from poorly fit frames. The others don't have the patience to work through it. If they don't get it on one to two tries, they tell you they can't help you and that you just have to deal with how they fit (yes, they have actually said that). Inevitably, we typically get my daughter's glasses about 2-3 months after our first appt to do so, so a quarter of the time she is supposed to have them for the year is already gone before she gets them. 9 months later, we start the whole ridiculous process over. This has been the same drill for 5-6 years. I have also had to have several pairs remade due to quality of frames and the paint chipping off metal frames or the tortoise color peeling off plastic frames all within the first 30-60 days. If your insurance allows you other choices, I advise you go elsewhere. We can go a couple other places, but then we only can pick from about 20-30 frames, and it's the same ones year after year. This is our only choice of provider to have a variety of frames so that we aren't all wearing the same ones! Ugh read more

I worked for another optical company for 10 years and was a certified optician there before going to graduate school to further my career. I tried Visionworks last year because they are a preferred provider for my insurance. I had progressives from the other company and could never adjust to them, always feeling woozy with them and having poor depth perception, despite multiple adjustments and trying different brand lenses. The progressives I got at Visionworks last year, the Pinnacle lens, were so much like my natural vision that I couldn't believe it. The optician there, Roberta, was someone I used to work with at the prior company and so I trusted her and because I have loved my glasses the past year, I am back today getting more with a new prescription. She has done a great job servicing my needs for multiple pairs of glasses (sun, computer, distance only for watching tv at night and the progressives for work) as well as the needs of my little boy who just wears them for up close work. I hope that she never retires before I am done needing her services, but if she does I will keep going to VisionWorks in Nashua as their overall service has been great and their products are both functional and affordable! read more

Absolutely the worst customer experience. The last two appointments of the day should get the same as all of the others. I had the last two appointments for my children and was rushed right through. Following the exam with child one , I was with child one doing a "contacts class". The second child was brought in by the doctor to be examined without me. I didn't even know that child two had gone in. The doctor examined child two and left without me speaking to her or getting any information about the appointment. No idea if her eyes even changed from last time. I needed to get glasses and contacts for both children, we were left on our own to find our own glasses and wait for someone to help us order our glasses. When no one volunteered to help I was left to seek someone to help us. There was zero help with our ordering process and zero help with what was covered and not. I had questions about pricing of the contacts and no answers. We did not order contacts because I had next to no information. For the glasses we ordered was basically told this is your price, please pay. As soon as we were done we were ushered right out the door and the lights shut off behind us. We have been coming to this location for several years and this experience was enough to think we won't be coming back. We have a choice of where we utilize our eye insurance and spend our money. Glasses and contacts for 5 people is a big expense and the customer service here was terrible. read more
