My first set of glasses were so off, but they kept insisting I would get used to them. I returned them to get new glasses with a slightly better prescription from my doctor. The regular glasses are fine - you can tell that someone who knew what they were doing. The sunglasses were not so great. The lenses are fine, but the frames are not what I ordered. The literally fall off my face because they are so loose. It doesn't pay to be nice because they walk all over you. You've got to be mean and stand your ground, unfortunately. My husband and I waited 3 weeks to get back to back Saturday appointments. Upon arrival we check in with the same customer service rep. I was called within minutes to be seen by the tech who did the preliminary screening. I then went and selected three frames I was considering for work, weekend and sunglasses. Within 30 minutes I was called to see the Dr. When I came out my husband was in the waiting area saying he was never called by the Tech. Customers who arrived after us had been processed by the tech and were being called to see the Dr. The manager confirmed he was checked in correctly but could not explain why he was repeatedly skipped over. We both planned on getting three pairs of glasses and left with none. Had I read these Yelp reviews prior to booking appointments I never would have wasted our time on this poorly run business. read more

This place is awful. I went here and had my eyes tested. The doctor was friendly and told me I'm farsighted and that I need glasses. I went back to the showroom and looked over the glasses and it was a long time before anyone came over and spoke to me. Finally I sat down with someone with my frame of choice. I opted for most of the options too: polarization for anti-glare, anti fog treatment, the works. I'm the week's waiting for my glasses places started shutting down due to COVID. They finally notified me they were ready and I went to pick them up. When I arrived I waited for close to an hour before anyone helped me. I noticed the lenses looked pretty plain and asked the guy helping me if they had all the stuff I asked for and he assured me they do. I went home and started using them and noticed things like glare coming through and they fogged up a lot. Unfortunately they were closed due to COVID. After a few months they were open again and I went in and asked them if the lenses looked like they're treated with the options I paid for and they told me they had it. Recently I was at another store looking at some sunglasses with my prescription. I told them I wanted polarizing lenses and the girl noticed I had my digital camera with me. She told me that with polarized lensed glasses, it would affect how I see my camera. She then had me put on the sunglasses and rotate my camera 90 degrees, and as I did so the image on my camera disappeared. When I rotated the camera back to normal the image came back. I then tried with my eye glasses and asked her to look at them and she told me they're ordinary lenses with no special finish. read more

Granted I been going to Lenscrafters for my vision for over 36 years but my insurance company changed to (VSP, which I hate). I get exam every year along with frames yearly. First time going to visionworks couple weeks ago and when I tell you how employees are unprofessional. Nobody spoke to me and ask me what can they help me with. I had to find someone and tell them I'm here for eye exam and purchase glasses. They said to me, "ok hold on" like we're conversing via telephone. As "im holding on" I began searching for frames. Unfortunately, I picked up at least 25 frames and began telling the associate do you guys not clean the frames as every single one was dirty at 10:00 in the am. He said they clean them and I said it was impossible as I showed him every one of the women glasses were dirty,disgusting and even found a few with makeup of bottom of frame. I was not about to pick them up and try on something with germs near my face. They were not professionally dressed in my opinion at this workplace setting. Its like they just threw on tshirt, jeans and kept it going. Maybe Lenscrafters got me spoiled as they were always professional and dressed professionally. I ended up getting my eye exam and left. Went to Lenscrafters for them to tell me VisionWorks messed up my perscription. They put single vision when I haven't had single in 5 years. So I had to go back for them to change it to Progressive which took at least 30 minutes for them to correct their mistake. I ended getting my lens and frames with Lenscrafters and will just submit a claim for reimbursement as I will never set foot in an Visionwork every again. Also, if you're used to designer frames Visionworks do NOT carry them. They frames are less quality than I normally purchase. read more

I have pretty good vision and just needed new reading glasses. It took forever for me to be seen by the Dr. like it took about an hr. I was about to leave. Then when I met with the dr. She seemed a bit rude. She asked if I had any concerns and I told her it's challenging to see at night with the astigmatism and she replied "yeah everyone says what" it took me a minute to process what she said at the moment cause I was not expecting that. The young man who helped me w my glasses was great. However it's been 2 weeks and I still haven't received a call stating that my classes are ready for pick up. It's also almost impossible to get though to speak to a employee at this store when trying to call. I'll use the automated system to see if my glasses are ready. I'm currently waiting for my appointment as I start this review because it's quite a long wait, so I thought I'd make good use of my time. But don't worry, I won't post until after my appointment is over so I can give a reliable and holistic review. Needless to say, I've been here for a while twiddling my thumbs. I'll also add that I scheduled an appointment for a post-LASIK checkup, which should be a quick in and out. Now let's talk about some good. This place requires face coverings for you to enter, and if you don't have one, they say they'll provide you with one. The staff is also entirely good about wearing their masks properly and at all time, which we don't see everywhere. Additionally, they take everybody's temperature with a no-contact thermometer as soon as they enter, and there's an immediate table with a bottle of hand sanitizer. Now that I've finished writing all of the above and still have plenty of time to kill, I'll go on and talk about what I could have done during this time that I've been waiting: -watch a few episodes of the Office -have a work meeting (or two) that could have been an email -take a really long lunch break -run a 10k with time to spare -drive from Snellville to midtown Atlanta in moderate traffic -take my dog for a long walk -listen to the entirety of Taylor Swift's folklore album After a full hour of waiting, I was finally called back to read some lines of a chart and stare down the hot air balloon barrel and get air puffs in my eyeballs. They also told me that they can't do post LASIK consultations, even though I was told differently over the phone when I called. This place is looking more and more like a big waste of time and nothing more. Doesn't seem like I'll need to wait until after the actual appointment to give 1 star since right now I wish I could award a negative amount. But I'll wait anyway. I've now been here for over an hour and a half and still have not been called for my actual appointment. At this rate, I'm not sure why they don't just send their patients home and then call them to come back again. As for the actual checkup that I finally received at 12:46 for my 11:15 appointment, it was standard. Now I'm back in the waiting room after my pupil dilation drops. Total amount of time spent here was over two hours. Could have run a half marathon during that time. tl;dr go somewhere else. read more

My fiance said it was time for new glasses. I agree. But I'm not trying to spend money at time lol but I did need to update my prescription. It cost $60 for an appointment without insurance, depending on your insurance you might be paying $10-$20. If you want to do additional eye tests it's additional charges. They were doing a sale and my fiance's insurance gave him a $180 limit, he ended up getting new glasses & new sunglasses. The experience was decent. The wait was pretty long, but we weren't doing anything. The front desk team was very nice and helpful. The lady prepping you for the eye exam seemed like she was force to sell you on using their new technology to take pictures of your eyeballs. And the doctors visit felt rushed. I guess the past few times I've visited the eye doctor they always ask of I have concerns or stuff like that, this lady didn't ask any of that. Makes me think they're aren't really doing this for the care of people's eyes but for sales. We'll see how it goes when we pick up his glasses. read more

Highly recommend this location. I had my glasses fitted and 6 months later they broke. I called today to try to get some new ones and was told that my insurance would cover them. I was greeted at the door when I walked in and only spent about 10 minutes total in the store even though it was pretty busy. The staff went above and beyond (sent out my old pair of glasses) and ordered me new ones. I went out to my car to load up my kiddos and a staff member went out of his way to ask me if I had a couple of minutes to change out my lenses that I spent over $200 on to customize them. He came out not even 2 minutes later with the same pair of glasses, and lenses- fixed! I am so beyond appreciative and grateful for this business and staff. I would recommend them to anyone needing eyewear! read more

Had exam and ordered glasses on 12/29. Was told 8 days and that I would receive a text and email when they arrived. They arrived on the 5th but this location failed to notify me. I called on the January 11 to check and that's how I found out they were in. I started wearing glasses 4 years ago and have only used Visionworks however this is my first time at this location as I recently moved from Omaha. Will need to find another eyewear company now as you only have one chance to make a first impression So I get a response and the email address is a marketing company asking for my contact information. Nice try. Either Visionworks can't manage their own customer service issues or they are afraid to deal directly with their customers. Either way, they lost a customer. Went to the Visionworks on scenic Highway had my eyes tested got a pair glasses and I still couldn't see very well so I went back they gave me another eye test Ashley lady that examined my eyes did not do any better she said yes a little bit so they made me another pair glasses and I still had problems with my eye still couldn't see very well so I called a real ophthalmologist made my appointment and and I have the appointment he told me I was almost blind in my right eye and my left eye was trying to catch up he said he didn't know why they didn't tell me that at Visionworks so I ended up I had cataracts well since then I've had cataract surgery on my right eye and I have an appointment to get my left eye done as well. What I wanna know is why they didn't tell me that at Visionworks before they sold me my few hundred dollar pair of glasses so I called Visionworks they said they were gonna pass it on to their home office they get back with me in a few days never heard back from him so I called him again oh yes they're going to call us back again I have no fear I texted the corporate office and I've never heard back from the weekend I wrote them another text and I still haven't heard back from him so I'm gonna guess they're not gonna get back with me and they are just gonna blow me off I think that's rude on a couple of points They should've said I'm sorry we dropped the ball I would've even been happy with a partial refund but they are just going to blown me off and basically told me to go screw myself that's unacceptable I'm done trying to get a hold of them trying to talk to them so I will just print my experience and let you make your choice whether you want to come to this place or not I suggest a real ophthalmologist myself good luck , you know it's really sad when a business will not admit they made a mistake so they can keep a few hundred dollars that's greedy and somebody that does not care about your eyes just a dollar. Unprofessional children. They stand around on their phones , joking , laughing, and taking pictures while customers wait.... Sat waiting for 15 mins while they all avoided eye contact. Finally someone comes. She was nice but I was over it. And to not be that angry black woman ... I didn't vocalize this , got my shit ordered and left. I came to this one to avoid the BS I went through with at the pleasant hill location but it's VS as a chain. I will no longer be patronizing any of their locations as their hiring process CLEARLY is subpar. read more

So I had originally done a one star review on this location because of what I call shady business practices. Long story short, there are stipulations in the Affordable Care Act that allow businesses, such as this one, to charge a fee for contact evaluations on top of the regular eye exam fee. The fee can be as high as the eye exam which, if charged, effectively doubles your total at the register. After posting my original review I was contacted by store management and I was told that the practice was not shady (I was given info on the law during a this convo. I also did my own research). So, as far as the store being shady, THAT IS 100% NOT true. They operated well within the bounds of the law and their rights. The next part is about how they handled my situation as a customer, that felt at a minimum deceived. Another long story short, i was contacted by the manager a second time and I was told that the contact evaluation fee would be put towards the purchase of contacts, as a store credit. With all that being said, this store and team, didn't have to reach out to rectify the situation, they could have chalked this one up and went about their lives muttering curses under their breath. I was treated kindly and no attitude was given when I went to redeem my credit. The staff was friendly and attentive and this visit was 100% better than the last. The store manager wasn't there at the time, but another manager, Candy, was wonderful to deal with. I appreciate what they did very much. read more

I went to this location in November of 2017 for my eye exam and some new glasses. During the exam, the doctor doing the exam asked me if I knew that I had a freckle in my eye. I told her that I knew about it, and had had it since I first started getting glasses (35+ years prior). She stated that it wouldn't hurt to get checked out by an ophthalmologist and that she would give me a referral. She asked for my insurance card, so she could see what doctors matched my plan and sent me out to look at glasses. While looking at glasses, a store associate came up and gave me my card, but no referrals. I assumed that the doctor had gotten busy with another patient and that I'd get the referrals before I left the store. I picked some frames and got told that despite what my insurance was, and what my insurance plan covered, that I would be out over $800 if I got the glasses at the prescription the doctor wrote. I stated my vision insurance should cover the glasses but was told repeatedly it wouldn't. When I said I wasn't paying $800 for the glasses and I would call my insurer to double check my benefits, suddenly I was told that my glasses could be done for about $250. I still wasn't thrilled, but I needed a new pair and wanted this all over and done with, so I paid and was told I would get the glasses on December 7th. The following Monday, I got a phone call from a number I didn't recognize, and let it go to voicemail. A little later, I check my voicemail to find a message from an ophthalmologist's office explaining I have an appointment the next morning, made for me by the optometrist, and that if I need to cancel there will be a $50 cancellation fee. I called them back to explain that I had never agreed to this appointment, I was not available for this appointment, and I was not going to this appointment. I was then told that a bill for $50 would be sent to the home address that they had on file for me. I called the store to find out what was going on, and said that I had been told that I would be given a referral, and instead the doctor had made an appointment for me with another doctor. I went on to explain that this appointment had been made without my permission and that I was now being charged for the said appointment. The store employee that I spoke to told me that the doctor had felt it in my best interests to go ahead and make the appointment for me. She had also requested my medical records from my insurance company and had them sent to the other doctor. The next 6-8 hours was spent on phone calls to the store, corporate headquarters, the ophthalmologist's office, my insurance company, etc. I finally spoke to the chief of staff at VW who told me he had cancelled the appointment, gotten them to waive the fee, cancelled my eye glass order, and was refunding my money. I also got him to admit that the optometrist had violated HIPAA laws. A few days later, the manager Teri, from the store called me and talked to me for about an hour. She apologized profusely and told me that as a mea culpa she would make sure I actually got my glasses, at no cost. Said glasses have never materialized. The staff at this store is grossly incompetent and the location should be closed. I filed complaints with my insurer, the state, and the federal government. read more

My first appointment was on 3/01/20 and got a new pair of progressive glasses. I came back on 10/21/21 because I felt my prescription needed updating to which they told me it changed and to get new glasses to which I did. When they still didn't work correctly, I went somewhere else on 4/12/22 and had to pay out of pocket (because it was too soon for insurance) and not only found out that my prescription was way off but that Visionworks sold me glasses that are too small to really handle progressive lenses which is why they weren't working. When I went to review my prescriptions, I then realized that both my visits at Visionworks had me at the SAME prescription but still told me I needed new glasses. When I called today to talk to someone they said "sorry, I can't help what they told you." Now I'm $700 out on new glasses from another place because of Visionworks mistakes. read more

The young at desk did not know answer, said she would have to ask manager...cool. Manager comes out (older Hispanic lady) young lady asks question. Candi, Akeia and Jasmine stayed late, after closing, when there was a problem with our insurance and worked through the issue with us until it was resolved with the insurance company. The staff are friendly. I was called in promptly even though I was a walk in, in and out quickly. Pricing is fair. My issue is with the doctor. She was sweet and got my prescription just right but overlooked some things. For starters, I checked off that I wanted my eyes dilated and that wasn't done. Secondly and most importantly I wrote on my new patient form and verbally told the doctor that the other day I experienced 30 minutes of complete darkness/blindness in my right eye. That was the first time I'd ever experienced that. The doctor's response was "Hmm". No explanation, no questions asked, never mentioned it all. Temporary blindness that is not related to an accident or trauma should be looked into, right? Even a referral somewhere would have been greatly appreciated. As soon as I entered, saw 3 young girls/women in India head gear (clue #2) and asked if was a Muslin store. Bought the over priced frames. 22 min. late for the appt. Doc said they would not see me. The mgr. in young women told me I was racist. Just tiring to figure out who I was doing business with. At EYELAB, you don't see a real doctor. You see a reflexologist from a computer screen 3 states away. Only a real doc. can tell and treat some health issues like, rential problems, diabetes, cancer, etc. When I go into any store and see a lot of crosses, would it really be wrong to ask if it was a Christian store. Don't think so. I will be calling my lawyer this week. PS. The young woman who rang me up for the over priced frames, did not know how to do it. I then wait an additional 45 mins to see the dr. I came here last year with no problem but this year the wait is too long and the assistants act as if they are doing me a favor for seeing me at all. i bought a pair of glasses from there last year. It took everything for me not to call Corporate. The young lady who helped me was very accommodating but she explained my pricing wrong. So the price she calculated was off by at-least $52. When I was ready to pay the price changed and we wrangled over the dollar amount until I finally spoke with the Manager. Not sure if she was having an off day but that conversation didn't go well. IN the end, she explained to me the correct to figure out my bill and when i told her they didn't handle it right, she told me to call Corporate. Training is the key as well as remembering at a time like this customer service goes a long way. I am currently trying to get a copy of my prescription to take my business elsewhere and no one will answer the phone. The rating stands. read more

Picked up my son and daughter for an 11 am appointment. We arrived at 11 and was told that they Are running behind 30 mins. After 15 minutes waiting, they gave us paperwork a to fill out. After 1 hour, the room were cleared and we were the only people left in the store, I finally came up to the counter and asked when will I be served and let the receptionist know that we were here for an appointment since 11am. She said you were not here since 11. Came over and check the schedule. We were!. She than inform me that the doctor can't see us until they did the prescreening. What! so I was waiting for 1 hour than some more. Very bad customer service and I don't know why I bother to even make the appointment for. I'm not sure what the other people on here were talking about, but my experience here was fantastic. The entire staff was extremely friendly and very willing to help. I actually went in after previously visiting another vision works in New York and had a bad experience. The optometrist at this vision works helped me fix the problem I had with my glasses and updated my prescription without any hassle. I would recommended this place to anyone and can honestly say I will be returning to this location for future business! read more

Staff is always excellent and we have been going there for over 10 years. But I'd give zero stars if I could. You have to put in at least one to post. I recommend Carlin Vision and not Visionworks. How unprofessional and what a waste of time. They are actually open and I still can not pick up contact lenses I have paid for, or glasses I have paid for. I work and try to get there as soon as I can with my kids, but if the doctor is not there, then they can do nothing but say "sorry you wasted your time and gas to get here" Its a Georgia Law that they can't do anything unless a doctor is there - SO HAVE A DOCTOR THERE WHEN YOU ARE OPEN. Such a bate and switch to make you think if they are open they can actually help you. I called customer service and they said the doctors come and go as they please setting their own hours. They said the doctor can even cancel a whole day or leave early when ever they want. I think that makes the store nothing but a fake business because you can't get anything done that vision businesses are supposed to do. Like a restaurant being open but saying they can't serve any one. So stupid My family (5 people) go to Visionworks and I go to Carlin Vision. That is certainly going to change. Worst experience I've ever encountered at an eye place. The doctor rushed me out, kept telling me that she couldn't make me see better in my left eye because i have a lazy eye and i need to just "deal" with it. Mind you I've had a lazy eye since birth and never had a problem seeing well, I just need the right prescription! Than the doctor didn't even recheck my eyes after she prescribed a contact prescription. They didn't have the correct ones so gave me different ones and those gave me massive headaches- so I haven't worn contacts in almost 9 day. I was told they were ordering the correct ones and that they would be in 3-5 business days. Called at day 5 and the guy pushed me off and said yeah yeah well call you when they come in , called day 9 and there on back order and don't know when they'll be in, I asked if they could give me a different trial maybe it was the brand- was than told that I would be charged for ANOTHER exam and the trail pair after they already tried to bill me wrong day of, the lady said that i would have to pay $216 for just the EXAM! My insurance copay is only $60 for a Contact exam i made sure i checked before going in and even had an email with my eye care benefits... these people are seriously incompetent, I do not recommend. Spend your money elsewhere you'll probably get better service. read more
