Like several of the Livermore dog parks there are holes at the bottom of the fencing. So, the dogs can get out. It is odd that there is a chicken coop that shared the fence line. I sure wish they maintained this beautiful space. read more

Wow..okay so the pictures on this yelp profile is highly misleading. You have to click INTO the pictures to see that the doggy area is actually only a small portion of the map and fenced off..AND it is NOT DIVIDED by dog size. Completely lumped together..people here have GIANT dogs and if you go on a day where the husky looking dogs are there, do NOT bring your little 13lb dog into the enclosed area. My little pup was so terrified when he saw the dogs running around in the enclosed area and bolted back to the car. Yes, I drove an hour to get to this highly rated park..and I was leaving within 15 minutes of arriving. Plus 1 star for the man with the 2 terriers who was exceptionally friendly and showed me around the area. Plus 1 more star for the green green grass that would've been fun to play in.. read more

Comparing this to Los Angeles dog parks, this is EASILY 5 stars. If I had a small dog, it would be 4 because there's no area for them, but for medium and large, this place is lush and great. Lots of grass, shaded areas and it is on a hill, which makes for a very tired dog in a short amount of time. Sometime there are muddy spots, but my dog LOVED it here because of all the grass. It's just a great place in a nestled little park. A park that I used to go ice blocking on in high school. Oh the memories. People are nice. And sometimes, in the middle of the day, it's totally empty and you can run around like crazy with your pup. Just don't drink out of the water fountain like them. *** Quick note, a lot of people do not pick up the poop, but it seems the park is cleaned so much that it's hardly a nuisance. read more

Lots of grass and a few trees! Previous reviews from years ago said there's no grass but it is covered in grass now! I love that the park is on a hill so the dogs got lots of exercise. I threw the ball down the hill and they would run and bring it back up! Amazing to get their energy out. There's no official dog water fountain but there is a hose with a bucket, I attached a photo. I was happy there was other friendly dogs here when I went. read more

My dog was attacked by a pit pull in this dog park. It was about 2-3pm on a weekend. I was so happy when I saw there was a dog and a teenager in the park (this is usually low traffic, sometimes I don't see any dog here at all). When we just got in, the dog ran right at my dog, and the kid shouted out "she's not friendly with dogs". But it was too late. The pit pull already got my dog and she tried to snap my dog any part she could grab. Long story short. Luckily we did manage to escape. We later found out the teenager was a dog walker. She let the dog in the park because nobody was there. read more

I love this dog park! The view in the afternoon is spectacular! Often when the weather is nice I see couples and families sitting at the top of the hill enjoying the sunset. *sigh* The people are so friendly that come to this park and the dogs are great too. This is the best dog park in Livermore! Ok, so here's how you get there.... Off of North Livermore headed towards the 580, make a right and then a left on Cromwell. Make a right on Westminster and a left on Lambeth and park. You will see a play ground and a path/road that service vehicles use. It's paved, so either walk the path all the way up or hike up and over the hill. The hill isn't that big and your dog(s) will love it. Parking is the only thing that's lacking in this area. It's all street and it's all on a pretty steep hill. Sometimes if you come later in the evening like I do, you may need to wear something to kill the wind chill and some bug spray. Enjoy! read more

The best part about this dog park is the grass right outside the dog park! Bean was running laps up and down the hill. That's another good thing about this park is there's a few hills so you can easily tire out your dog or dogs. Inside the dog park is a bit small, but enough room to throw a ball around. There was only one other friendly dog there this morning. I have probably come here about 10 times and it is never very crowded. One time I experienced some aggressive dogs and left, but only once. There is plenty of shade and a few benches. There is also a water fountain and a few buckets for filling with water. I also saw a little kiddie pool that someone brought! There isn't a parking lot and only street parking in the neighborhood. A nice park, but I think I like the outside part better than the actual dog park. read more

Don't let the pictures fool you, there is no grass in the enclosed dog park area. The fenced dog area is on top of a little hill and is a pretty big area. I have a chuck-it for my dog and I can throw it all the way to the other end. It is on a hill, so keep that in mind, but for me and my dog, the hill is perfect because it tires him out faster and he can build those "thigh muscles". All of the grass pictures for this location are right outside of the fenced dog area, which I do see people with their off-leash dogs. For me, I would rather go in the actual dog area so I can be as worry free as possible. You'll find poop left from irresponsible owners, but that seems to be the case in the tri-valley area. There is a bucket under a water faucet, but other than that, there is no actual dog fountain. read more

I am going to have to politely disagree that this is the best dog park in livermore. The grass isn't perfect and dying in the corners of the lot and teenagers hang out here. (I know because my husband used to one of them. Not that they were doing anything wrong, but its a dog park not a designated view spot) Anyway . . . The owners here seem to be less friendly then other places around town. They also don't seem to care about picking up their messes. It also feels a little on the small side. Sometimes I think people take their dog here not to socialize because the "clientele" are not the best behaved pooches. On the plus side,it is on a steep hill so dog who love to run can get some extra energy out. On the downside, if you have a lazy dog, your going to be drudging down the hill yourself to fetch fido and/or the ball he won't retrieve. read more

I would have to disagree with last reviewer about the unfriendly people. I would have to say it is more friendly and welcoming than others we have been at in Livermore that tend to be more clickish. People have been very patient and helpful as we have been socializing our pups. we love the large open space and hills for our labs to run out the extra energy. I do agree people could do better to clean up after their dogs but I have found that at all dog parks. I would highly recommend a visit to see for yourself. read more

Came back here today and they just did some landscaping, which is nice. BUT...I walked around more and there are so many holes in the fences! My dog slipped through one of them, but thankfully it was near that gate that separates the park side from the dog park side and not through one of the outer perimeter ones. So, be careful if you have small dogs--they can slip through!! Also, there are a lot of big dogs that come here. My dog is a little fearful of big dogs, but gets along ok. Sometimes they take a swipe at her, but she never bites back. Anyway...going to continue to explore parks! read more

Good park with great terrain to get my dog going but that leads to wet areas of the park. Also wish the kids park was closer to the dog park so both my kids and dog could play at the same time. Oh and teenagers like to smoke there and drink. Not cool. read more

This place was another great stop today with Julie and Cheyenne! We had to walk a bit to the fenced section of the park but it was well worth it! Huge grass and shade tree area plus a wonderful breeze with 64 temp today! Very nice to have it all to ourselves for 40 minutes! The girls enjoyed a wonderful run and rolling in the grass and I enjoyed the fun! read more

this place is cool because of the hills. the dogs get extra worn out running around . everyone we've met there has been friendly and loved our puppy despite her "HEYLOOKATMEDOYOUSEEMEYETLETMELICKYOURFACE" attitude. they have a bucket for water and poop bags. can't ask for much more than that unless you need the separate "little dog" park. they don't have that here. read more

Plenty of shade in the grassy area. Non on the playground which is typical. I love that the toddler area is low and large area compared to most of the toddler space are small and compact. The park is located at a higher altitude so you get a nice breeze. read more

This is my favorite and only dog park that I take my german shepard to. Its the people and the relationships you and your dog develope here that make this one the best. My dog has come to recognize the smells of the park and all the dogs she sees everyday; their like her best friends. You get to know the owners and its a very home like feeling. This park becomes like its own community and you know who will be there each night so its never hit and miss. Before we came here when I would take her to another park either no one would be at the park I would take her to or there would always be different dogs coming and going and never consistency; so if Nala (my dog) liked a dog I would not know if she would see them again. Anyways back to this park, I cant forget to mention the hill and the view is great but be prepared when winter comes, like now, you need layers because the temperature just drops with a drop of dime up there. All in all its worth it! read more
