First let me say that the doctor Duhon (who seems to get the brunt of the criticism - I've never met him) doesn't seem to be at this center any more. Just see the page - translate sleepdoctor and dot and com The only doctor I had been seeing (Dr. Das) at the center is at a different address, on Bee Cave Road near downtown. You can see their website at ansaustin dot com Dr. Das is fabulous, talented and genuine. She has a brilliant and powerful intuition about how to heal patients. And at the same time she's a very kind soul. She has helped me enormously. I trust her implicitly and of course make sure to exactly follow her recommendations. I will admit that one or two times I had to call her on her decisions. There are times when each of us needs to stand up for what we think with any doctor we might be seeing. Such as the basis for side effects. But I can be a pushy broad when it comes to my health and in my experience that's the sort of problem I've had with most doctors over the years. My first visit with a different doctor in that same center was not helpful. Probably a personality conflict between us. Being able to see Dr. Das made up for all of that. She's a bit concerned with prescribing controlled medications that may put her under the scope of the absurdity of the state of Texas. My take, after moving here 3 years ago from California - Texas is a scary place for getting medical treatments OR needed medications. I've run into some absolutely awful doctors I've never experienced elsewhere - a mixed brew. And I'm a 62 year-old broad. Jeez

I scheduled a sleep study and everything went smoothly. They called to say that I did have sleep apnea and I would need a second sleep study with a CPAP to determine if that would help my symptoms. I came in and again everything went smoothly. But then communication stopped entirely. No one called about the results of the second sleep study. There was no prescription ever written for the CPAP or any other device. I tried calling but no one ever returned my calls. It's been almost a year since my sleep study and I still don't have answers.

I wake up with a headache and a sore throat. I am tired all day and caffeine is the only thing keeping me awake during the day. I'm up for a nap - any time, any place. For SIX YEARS. I finally talked to my doctor about it and she sent me over to Lonestar Sleep Diagnostics for a Sleep Test. Which is weird. It's like, "Sleep, ur doin it wrong!" First of all, they do all the legwork with the insurance. They send you the pre-test paperwork. It's all very efficient. You show up in your pj's and a very nice person settles you into your "bedroom" and explains how it all works. Then she or he sits you down and starts like sticking things all over you. It took 30-40 minutes and by the time I was done, I had twenty-two wires coming off me. I had to pee, which is hilarious with wires all coming out of your pants and straps across your chest and I couldn't help but walk towards the mirror in the restroom making moaning zombie noises...what? don't look at me like that. Anyways, then you lay down with an additional three wires (one up your nose, one glowing on your finger) and you are instructed to sleep. This actually wasn't too hard for me. I do toss and turn a lot and ended up ripping off the chest monitor a couple times. They woke me up around one in the morning and placed some sort of scuba-looking deal on my face. It took me about an hour to get to sleep but once I did....I am seriously getting a little verklempt... I slept like I can't remember ever sleeping. I woke up without a pounding headache for the first time in SIX YEARS. I had so much energy that the following night, I was awake until 2:00 A.M. Sleep is the new crack! Anyways... I can't remember my attendant/doctor/technician's name, but she was awesome. She was kind and calming through the whole thing. She made it, if not a pleasure, at least not torture, to have fifty-two electrodes and a scuba mask strapped to me. I'd definitely recommend this place for the sleep challenged like myself.

The process was so painful, i dropped the whole idea of bariatric surgery, and my health continued to deteriorate. Currently seeing Dr Sashi Ganta at AIBL. I can highly recommend him, as well as his office staff. Everyone in the office seems to enjoy their job, and has displayed competence and compassion during the 4 month process so far.

My mom got help pretty immediately and that was good. But the caregivers were absolutely awful. I…read morehave a ring camera so I could see what was going on. My mom was struggling physically/mentally and would just moan. One caregiver told her to be quiet multiple times. Another one refused to help because she had asked for too much help. One was busy on her phone and didn't bother to put my mom to bed so my mom fell asleep on her recliner. I tried to talk to the person assigned to me for staffing and she didn't answer texts/calls. I cancelled with her because the people that they were sending were so bad, that it was better to have no one. I got no answer till after the weekend and I was told that I needed to give more notice. I explained that I tried to give notice, but that person wasn't answering their phone. They sent one last person out that they claimed was their best and no one had every complained. After that person got my mom to sleep, she turned tv to the station she wanted (in room next to my mom) and then started calling friends on the phone and talking loudly over the tv. Find your own caregivers. Staffing agencies send people that couldn't get jobs on their own.

We reported this incident immediately to HC. Alice, the owner contacted me and asked me to pay for the medical check using our homeowners policy. Are you kidding me, this was completely inappropriate - as they inspected our property before coming out and we were not the caregivers employer. We were losing our father and we were in no way financially responsible for this incident nor could we handle this kind of issue while facing the death of our father. I would definitely not recommend this company. I have been a healthcare administrator for over 30 years - and knew the procedures for employee incidents. This was so heartbreaking to have Alice to attempt to get us involved. I would not call this Heavenly Care........
