I've had a great experience and a reasonable quote with Tom on installing my entire house with honey combs and shutters in 2014 and was told I get a lifetime warranty from Hunter Douglas. However, when one of the honey comb is defective, I tried to contact Tom and his office, and was asked to send them an email. I even included pictures, but since then, I got no response whatsoever. If it isn't because their pricing is the cheapest compared to other blind companies, I honestly would not have chosen them to repair my blinds. I had done the measurements of each blinds I wanted to repair, one of the responders named Tony got back to me with a quote. So I responded back to the recipient, Tony, confirming the quote and asked to proceed with the orders. But for 4 weeks I had not received an email from them. I had constantly tried to reach out to them through email and phone, again no responses. Not until they emailed me that they were off for vacation. Which was fine since it was summer, most people will take their opportunity to be out and about. I had given them a day or two to revive before I attempted to reach out again. But after several calls/voicemails AND emails, they did not respond to any of them. Finally when I did get someone to pick up the phone to address my request, instead of fulfilling the customer's wishes on the spot they kept directing me back to emailing them. At this point, I was getting impatient from having to repeat myself and doing the whole "waiting" game. After I had sent them an email to order the blinds and never getting a response again. I had to give them a call, this time I had told them that I had gotten the quote from Tony and would like to proceed with the order. Their "receptionist" who I had spoken to majority of the time whenever I called, had then addressed that they need someone out to get the estimate first before placing the order...if they didn't trust the measurements I had done, why did she or Tony himself, had told me so earlier? So then I had to go through the whole trouble again of scheduling the appointment. Which once again, I had waited an entire week because they did not respond back to my emails and when I wanted to call them I had to constantly play this "shoot-my-shot" game to see if I got lucky to have had someone pick up the phone. Thankfully they picked up the call, but here was the part that ANGERED me the most: I gave them a call on Monday of the following week that I had gone through the hassle of ordering the blinds. Over the phone their "receptionist" had told me the earliest they could send someone to come over for estimations was between 9:30 am - 10 am on Thursday. I asked her if there was a later time for that day, she told me that their next availability was on Tuesday, 7/19, 9:30 am to 10 am. I told her I CANNOT do Tuesday next week, so it has to be on Thursday. So the appointment was scheduled for Thursday. When the day came and it was already 9:42 am, I had given them a call again and asked if someone was on their way. The same girl picked up and asked if I had scheduled it for today... I had to basically re-enact the whole phone call on Monday to remind her about what she had told me. She checked on her computer, most likely she screwed up, and claimed I had scheduled it for Tuesday 7/19 instead. This had me infuriated! When I had previously asked her if she could send someone over later in the day, she had told me she cannot due to the booking...yet NOW she had told me she has an availability at 3:30 pm to 4 pm?!? What is this?? Are they even wanting business?? Their customer service is SHIT, PATHETICALLY SHIT! Communication is key to business but no they want little to no communication! I had scheduled the appointment at 3:30 to 4 pm, the guy that they had sent to come to my place for an estimate had called me earlier they'll be at my place in 20 minutes, how do you expect me to cancel all my plans for the day just to wait at home for him to come? It is unreasonable. I was being so patient and understanding with them yet they came around to blame their customer for not addressing the appointment day correctly?? I understand English is not their first language, which is fine, but if they don't even know the difference between THURSDAY and TUESDAY, I HIGHLY recommend that they either go back to grade school to relearn the days of the weeks again or just close down the business altogether. It is unacceptable to have wasted your customer's time! RIDICULOUS. read more

I was excited to find EZ Blinds based on the reviews and easy locale to my house, but I haven't had a good experience. We had Tom come out July 22, and he told us he'd have an estimate by the end of that week. We still haven't heard a word from him or his office. I've now called and emailed asking for the quote and received nothing. Seeing how many folks already had their coverings installed by now, it seems that we've fallen off of Tom's map. I'm not sure if he's too busy or not interested in the job, but some communication in that regard would have been appreciated. (I did shop around) We like the look so much that now we are ordering another 5 shutters through EZ Blinds. Tom even helped me fix my broken recessed light while he's here to do the measurement. Contacting EZ Blinds & Shades is NOT that EASY. I just moved to a new neighborhood and saw their sign in front of my neighbor's house that just had the window coverings done by EZ Blinds. I took the number and checked out their website and decided to contact them. I called numerous times last weeks, and nobody pick up the phone at all. I tried a different number on their website and still no one picked up the phone. I left messages and no one returned phone calls. I left a message on their website and asked for a response, no one did response. I texted the phone number and no response either, and finally I emailed them and no response either. I have all the phone, text, and email records to prove that. I am not sure all the wonderful comments about the company excellent services are valid. I have yet to talk to a live person. If there are too busy and can't take anymore work orders, they can still response. Too ignoring a customer is not the right way to do business. read more

The installer left a mess, the cords were way to long and when I complained about since it was 100% guaranteed Tom treated to put a lean on my house if I do not pay the rest of the payment and stated there is nothing he can do for me because they are all custom blinds! My second floor Hunter Douglas Shutter came damaged and the crew installed in spite of knowing this. I am working with Hunter Douglas now. Tom is of no help so far. Also, when the first floor shades and shutters are installed, I wasn't super thrilled with their installation and the finished product. Not too impressed. A friend provided Tom as a referral and I wished afterwards that I would have called him first instead of spending time with the other retailers.
