The Ají (yellow) and Huacatay (green) sauces really helped to liven up my half chicken, green beans, and chaufa (Peruvian Fried Rice). What did throw me off was how the churros have changed. It used to be one long churro that was less than $3.00. That has been replaced with churro minis for over $5.00. Initially, the price and appearance of the churros (which I didn't see until I received them) made me think I was getting less for more money. They were absolutely delicious! This is similar to places like CAVA but with a different food theme. The food is ready in a short period so if you're not a fan of long wait times at restaurants this one is good. The food is very good, though be wary they can be a little heavy on the seasonings if you aren't one to eat with a lot of seasonings. The sauces they have is so good! The service is amazing. So had a meeting in Greensboro and after that I decided to go to Viva chicken which is right by my highway return ramp. Apparently they were having an issue with their register system because only cash people could order at the register. Nice young man showed me how to use the app so that I could order & pay online for my takeout. What they do with the food is very good maybe not as good as my beloved chicken fiesta from Virginia, but will do in a pinch.. hopefully they will resolve their point of sale issues because some customers probably would've just walked away. Came here with a coworker who swears by this place. The place was clean, inside and out. I got the Naked Peruvian Wrap with all white meat. I wish it was listed on the menu that there were onions, so I could have gotten it removed. Also, I wish someone mentioned the sauces that were stationed on the other side of the restaurant. Thankfully it wasn't covered in onions. I believe knowing about the sauce would have helped me push through the wrap quicker. Despite all of that, the wrap was decent. The fruit was good. I have been to Peru a few times, and have had the opportunity to have authentic Peruvian "Pollo Peruano." This place comes pretty close! The ambiance is great, very spacious and upscale. What a pleasant surprise! I checked Viva Chicken's latest menu items including the verde chicken dishes. The burrito and the tacos are so full of flavor and I absolutely LOVE the greens sauce- it's exactly like the authentic Peruvian sauce I had back in NYC. I had to try this Peruvian Chicken restaurant because I had tried a similar restaurant toward the Raleigh area some months earlier, and really like their rotisserie style of bird. Their is no table service at this chain restaurant, it is a sort of cattle call situation when business is at a peak - you que up to order & pay, get a number and grab a table if eating in, this can be a rather rushed process. These places seem to consistently do a sizable take out business, often large orders. This location does have a good amount of seating, much of which are fairly comfortable booths - the location in Winston has only a few booths with most of the seating being less than comfortable metal chairs and tables. The chicken here was very good, nice and tender, well seasoned, not the slightest over cooked - which occurs frequently in some of the mom and pop South American chicken houses. I ordered the 1/2 chicken so I would be able to try both white and dark meat - each was nice! I also tried the beans and slaw, liked the beans, slaw not so much. I have tried the Viva Chicken in Winston as well, the Greensboro one seems a bit more organized for folks choosing to eat in. This is solid chicken, different style is nice for a change, but only once in a while. I'm sure I'll try this chain's chicken again soon. read more

I actually ordered in from here, and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. Because it was really good. I got the quinoa avocado salad, and it was delicious. The avocado was not quite as ripe as I would like it to be, but it was still really great. There could have been a little more flavor to the chicken, but it was real chicken. It was cooked well. It had a great presentation. The colors were beautiful. The taste again, was great. I loved the sauces that come on the side, even though I was a little hesitant to try them. They were surprisingly good And it was fresh, and healthy, which is just what I was looking for. So I'll be definitely going here more and or ordering in here from now on. I also got the mini churros, and they were so good. It was just what I needed on a Friday after noon to get me through the rest of the day and into the weekend. Unfortunately, I was not able to visit the restaurant today, but I certainly will update my review once I do. But I expect the same good food and great experience I had today. Thinking of this place makes my mouth water. I stopped by on a whim and had the Verde Chicken Wrap. The chicken was so tender and flavorful, the sauces were delicious, and the green beans as the side were to die for. The service was friendly and prompt. Best chicken deal in town!! We recently tried a new chicken place and have a new appreciation for viva chicken. Their big chicken meal went up by $4-5 and with an extra small order of plantains our total bill was just over $30. This will feed 2 adults (including a male that has a healthy appetite) with some leftover for a smaller meal. The other place didn't even feed 2 adults, chicken was awful and we were charged $1 for DARK meat for $33 total. If we ordered a meal comparable to Bruno's big meal it would have cost almost $50!!! They took extra time and answered questions about sodium in the salad dressings and made sure to give us extra salsa. Today we are feasting on a limeade (you can taste the basil, mint, and rosemary in this sweet limeade. It's amazing), a 1/2 rotisserie chicken with two sides of cilantro rice, Sopa de Pollo with a side of canary beans to add in (I love how the soup comes with the broth separate from the fresh ingredients), small order of yuca with cheese dip (sooo good! Like a thicker chewier potato with whipped fluffy cheese dipping sauce), a large sweet potato order, and an Andina Power Food Salad with Lime Passionfruit vinaigrette. Solid place for the most part. A Peruvian based chain: it hits on the idea but slightly misses on the authenticity. The food is still good don't get me wrong. The chicken is what you come for and I've learned that you definitely order the dark meat over white. The chicken is marinated 24 hours (per their sign) then cooked on coals/fire. You definitely get that nice skin and some flavors come through but I wouldn't necessarily say it's authentic Peruvian taste. The white meat for me was pretty dry by the time my order came out. The marinade...didn't really penetrate enough. The cilantro rice is fair, sauces are good (they are different flavors, not sure why they categorize it as different levels of heat). The odd pairing was the offering of French fries. This place does get packed fairly quick off Wendover. The food was a three but the they get a four because it was a younger staff but they maintained composure, worked with urgency of getting out your food, and was very kind. read more
