De Gama took me by surprise! I came here on a girl's dinner, and it's one of those foodie places in…read moreMKT that are kind of tucked away, but wow. What a hidden gem! Our waitress was so kind as to go through the menu with us multiple times when we had questions, and she had such great recommendations. To start off, I ordered the banananeira, which was not what I was expecting at all but still really tasty. I expected a sweet drink, like a banana pudding type drink, but it was instead a bit more tart as if it were a green-yellow banana (maybe also a little more tart from the lime and pineapple?). Whatever it was - it was actually really good and refreshing. For my second drink I also got the Goan Sunset. Also delicious, and arguably my favorite. I think more people would like the Goan Sunset as it's more refreshing and fruity, but I did enjoy both of my drinks. For food, we started off with the samosas and empanadas de carne. I really liked both, but I actually really enjoyed having the empanadas with the sauce that came with the samosas. The apple chutney that came with the empanadas was a bit too sweet for me, but I'm really not a fan of sweet sauces with my savory food though. I usually prefer more tangy/spicy sauces if anything, so that could just be personal preference. We also ordered the Goan fish curry, the lamb kebabs, the naan, and the pao buns. Both the fish curry and the lamb kebabs were SO good. I'm not the biggest fan of lamb usually, but those kebabs were great. I personally really liked the pao buns, but my friend liked the naan better to have with the food. (The pao buns are a little sweeter, but man I actually really liked them with the fish curry!) Honestly, the food was so good we couldn't resist dessert. We ordered the sticky date cake and man it was so delicious. I was really craving more caramel sauce on the cake though, but still great. Would come back here again!

I really like this place for the vibe and the creativity. I recommend their pani puri and the pao…read morebuns for appetizers. It's a pretty good fusion of Indian and Portuguese cuisines. For the main, I got their lamb curry before and this time I tried steak and fish. I prefer the lamb/ anything Indian over the woodfire ones just because it's way more unique Cocktail wise I wasn't surprised. I think it'll be good to try their wine instead

I spend ample time at high ends / Michelin star restaurants, and so I am familiar with all star service. Bayla really made our time special by going out of her way to make us feel comfortable and valued. She made it all seem effortless and at no point did she ever make us feel like a burden. Thank you for everything! The food and ambiance were also amazing! Truly a top notch restaurant experience.

Our friend booked a reservation and was able to add a fourth person without any issues. It's on Westheimer where all the restaurants and shops are, so it's pretty busy. You can either park on the street or in the neighborhood behind. There's bar, small table and booth seating available. One of our friends who arrived early got to switch us to a booth since we'd have a few plates to share for the four of us. My friend and I shared the NA red sangria. I liked that there was a NA option for that, and you can choose either red or white. We ordered a pitcher since we were sharing. It was delicious and refreshing. I think I had about 3 wine glasses of it. Our group shared the red fish à la plancha, patatas bravas, spinach frittata, olive oil pancakes and bacon-wrapped dates. Some of the dishes were bigger than others. Tapas is meant to be small plates, and they were, but it's a little overpriced. For example, the red fish was $15.50 for maybe 2 oz of fish. The stack of olive oil pancakes were small and thin for $8.50. If you're sharing, it's not that much food. I was going to order another personal stack of olive oil pancakes because that cinnamon butter was so good! I decided not to after I let all of what we ordered and drank settle for a bit after. The valdeon whipped blue cheese under the bacon-wrapped dates didn't taste very good and seemed grainy to me. It was my least favorite. The standouts for me were the olive oil pancakes, spinach frittata that was actually loaded with more veggies and bell peppers and the patatas bravas which was piled with potatoes topped with mayo that melted down and looked almost like melted cheese on top. It's a fun place for friends to gather or a cute date spot. You may or may not be hungry after depending what you order. There are larger plates/entrees like paella and branzino to share.

Time to Appetizers: 20 minutes Time to Entree: 25 minutes Arrived at 2:30PM on a Saturday and were directed to sit anywhere. We sat near the buffet, which was a bit unclear. There was a live guitarist/singer playing which was a fantastic vibe. A complimentary basket of four pieces of cheese bread was brought out, excellent way to start the meal! For two people, we ordered: 2x Coxinha (3.5/5): While the chicken is a tad dry, it's complimented well by the creamy sauce 1x Kibe (3/5): Reminded me of a meatball crossed with a falafel, like something you'd order on a skewer. Not too grainy and a nice smoky flavor. 1x Risole de Camarao (4.5/5): I thought this was a better version of the Coxinha. The shrimp flavor really permeates and reminds you of a shrimp risotto in a single bite. Churrasco Gaucho (16oz) (2/5): We decided to get this to sample all of the meats. Unfortunately I thought everything was really salty. Maybe it's characteristic of the Brazilian grilling style, because the smoky flavors did come through, but it just felt too salty for me on everything. Honestly maybe it just needed some kind of vegetable besides beans to help offset. Whatever their chili sauce is (5/5): I have no idea what this is but it reminds me of mashed up bird eye chili sauce..it's really good. Sprinkle it on everything. Helps with the saltiness of things. Milk Flan (4/5): A rich custard style of flan, thick and very sharable. Not too sweet. I liked this as a great palate cleanser. Service was really prompt and friendly. Paid via inKind with no issues.

It's not a large restaurant, especially compared to some of the other Brazilian steakhouses. The service was good. Overall, we had a good meal. The common theme is that compared to other Brazilian steakhouses, the selection at the salad bar as well as the meat selection is a bit more limited. That said, I enjoyed everything I chose from the salad bar. Regarding the meat selection, there were a couple that stood out: the picanha and the rib-eye were both very good. Everything else was so-so (the filet mignon in particular was pretty tough for that cut of meat). That said, I would rather go to a restaurant that does a couple of things well vs. everything just okay. One thing to note. I don't know how they do it, but the price is significantly lower that their competition (like ~30-35% lower). When you factor that in, this restaurant is quite reasonable for what they offer.

We've done takeout, hosted parties, and also Doordashed it and eaten in. Each time it's been great. My favorite sides are the crispy brussel sprouts and mac and cheese. I ordered the halloumi sticks with chili jam and 6 lemon & herb wings. I'm a huge fan of halloumi, but their halloumi sticks were nothing to rave about. No better than grilling halloumi at home. The chili jam tasted like a sweet fruit jam. No noticeable chili pepper flavor or even spiciness. The grilled wings were OK. The wings looked undercooked based on the color of the chicken skin, but thankfully they were cooked all the way through. The lemon and herb flavor was lacking. I had to dress the wings up with the medium spice peri peri sauces and peri peri ranch to get some kick of flavor. Best thing about this place was honestly the service. Staff members were friendly, and the kitchen was very fast at prepping our order.

Several kinds of steak cuts, along with sausage, lamb, chicken, and shrimp. Other sides that are passed include mashed potatoes, bananas, and cheese puffs. Before moving to the buffet, I enjoy a cup of lobster bisque soup. Delicious! Once we're were full, I asked for the pineapples. Here they are available but are a'la 'carte. They were so good and juicy! The touch of cinnamon just set it off. After this, we shared Tres' Leche' cake for dessert. Delicious and rich!!! If you're lactose...don't do it! Note: The pineapple was sweet enough for dessert, and it helps digest the meat. Maybe not a weekly experience at $70 per person, but I can experience it quarterly maybe. Definitely a repeat spot.
