ok, so I had high hopes for this one and unfortunately I was disappointed. I ordered takeout so the experience will not be the same that is understood. When I went inside to pick up the food the place was really nice and the staff were terrific (even on the phone they were very accommodatin) The ambiance was a vibe for sure. Let's get to the food, I ordered nachos( I chose no meat) what I got were some chips with refried beans on them- the teenage boys( who eat everything) didn't even pay them any mind. Terrible. I got quesadillas for my little guy and when I opened the very tiny box all I saw was lettuce( I actually thought they forgot the quesadilla) but under all that lettuce was a quesadilla so small( I had to make him pasta). The boys and I had tacos, they were just ok nothing special- my husband had the burrito and ate the whole thing( that was a big mother) he liked it- they gave a tiny bag of chips on the side, enough for 1 person even though we ordered for 5 and 1 tiny 2 ounce cup of salsa- not great when you are spending almost $100 - sorry, not for me- I am giving my honest feedback and I hope they take it into account because I really loved the vibe they were giving just not worth the money read more

I've been here a few times and have enjoyed it each & every time. My fiancé and I went for Cinco de Mayo last night and wow I am so glad we had a reservation!!! The place was bumpin and people never stopped walking in- love the loud and friendly atmosphere and they were giving out free margaritas!!! This place literally has the best chips & pico de gallo which I look forward to every time. We then ordered nachos and they were excellent too- a perfect portion for two people. I ordered a shrimp dish with a spicy sauce that is excellent and comes with Spanish rice & veggies. My fiancé was craving a steak burrito and they didn't have one on the menu so he ordered the steak fajitas. Our waitress said she could ask if they could make the burrito but since they were so busy he just said he'd have the fajitas. He wasn't as impressed with his meal as I was. The food took a little longer and our server never brought us waters that we ordered but we didn't make a big deal out of it since they were so busy. All in all- I'll definitely be back again!! And the best part was we got 10% off our bill for checking in!!! read more

This is very quaint authentic Mexican Restaurant. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The chicken quesadilla app was very good as was the chicken tortilla soup. Service was slow, and its BYOB. Those were the only negatives for me. I will definitely be back. read more

We went to Northlandz toy rail museum and tried to have food in the neighborhood I ordered "Pollo en Salsa Verde " !! Sorry to say this but my order was completely messed up..the chicken breast was so tough to eat that I left it without eating.. I complained to them saying I really didn't like the chicken as it's not cooked properly. I should have said that I won't pay for my order since later reaching home I again had to order a pizza as I left hungry... that's bad My daughter has Chimichangas Pollo and said it was bland was fine.. my son is the only one who enjoyed his Kid Burrito Service was good.. friendly but we all expect food should be tasty The place was BYOB a hint for others who want to go there .. read more

Haven't been here in years since it was in a previous location - got takeout last night and it was phenomenal. We ordered the Plato Combinado, chicken enchiladas, nachos with beef, Camarones al mojo de ajo, and a side of guac. Everything was delicious and the cook on the proteins was perfect all around. Their guac is probably my favorite in the area - not too salty, nice chunks of avocado, perfect amount of acid. Some people complain about some of their prices because they expect all Mexican food to be as cheap as places like chipotle - I found the price we paid to be very fair, especially for how fresh everything was. One thing I will say: if you go on a Friday or Saturday, you'll have a much easier time if you street park since parking in the back is tight. Definitely give Viva Mexico your patronage - they deserve it! read more

We had a great dinner at Viva Mexico!! The flank steak was one of the best I've had. The chicken fajitas were spectacular and the chicken Verde was delicious and finally the guacamole was out of this world. All super fresh and tasty. Very small, authentic Mexican restaurant that you must try if you're in the Flemington area. The interior is nothing special but that's because they place all their effort into the food. Both my fiancé and I feel like this was the best Mexican food in the area. I had the Chiles Rellenos which was out of this world. Although a bit spicy for my liking, I worked through that and enjoyed every bit. My one complaint was that when asked how spicy dishes where the waitress pointed us in the wrong direction. She informed us that my dish wasn't spicy at all, when really it was full of spicy. Also don't leave without having dessert! I would recommend the homemade tres leches...simply amazing! read more

I'm a fan of this place. Their food is authentic. Love their spicy sauce, its spicy and tasty, I can put that on everything. Their staff is also friendly. The reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is, when I come here for lunch and its slow the waitress doesn't come around to check up on you so if you need water or anything you're most likely going to have to walk up to her. read more

I must say, I was beyond impressed after my first visit to Viva Mexico. It was our first time, so we went in to place our order takeout togo so we could enjoy it along with some brewskies at The Lone Eagle. The team working the counter was super welcoming and kind. We placed our orders of the Burritos (basically flour tortilla enchiladas) filled with black beans and chicken and topped with the verde sauce, and an order of Enchiladas filled with chicken and topped with the salsa roja. The enchiladas came with rice and black beans, and the burritos were topped with guacamole. Both of our entrees were very tasty. Their chips and salsa (more of a pico de gallo style) were excellent! I recommend ordering an extra side of both with a large side of salsa. Sooo good. While we were waiting for our food at the restaurant we witnessed the coveted Texas Burrito pass us by. This plate warranted a double take from the boyfriend and I. Next time, Texas burrito, next time. The inside dining area is very large and I'm sure on a packed night bustling with vibrancy. Being BYOB is a huge plus, so I see a dine in dinner in our near future. Take out took about 15 minutes and our meal set us back $28 for the two entrees with tax. A little pricy in my opinion for Mexican food, but then again I'm originally from Cali so finding solid Mexican eats out here on the Left Coast is worth the higher penny price tags. read more

There is genuinely no reason to ever come here. The interior is charming and the staff, I'm sure, are at the top of their classes in middle school, but the food is kind of terrible. They give you free chips (from a bag) and salsa, which was basically water with a few wan tomato chunks floating in it. I got chicken enchiladas, which featured the driest chicken in the known universe. They were coated in a salsa verde that basically tasted like vinegar, and they came with flavorless rice and some refried beans that had the texture of paste. We choked down half our meals in silence - literally, silence, since no music was playing and we could hear every word and every chewing sound made by the other patrons - and got the hell out. read more

My wife and I live in Doylestown (a town sadly lacking in a quality Mexican restaurant), we saw the numerous reviews for Viva Mexico and decided that a 40 minute drive was a necessity. A quick run down on - 1) Service - Alicia was our waitress-a sweet girl, who as attentive and treated us like long-time patrons (I'd like to give Alicia classes to a half dozen waitresses we have had this month!). No complaints in this department. 2). Food - After all that is why we do this eating thing. Good pic od'gallo - it was fresh with a nice bite. Ok - the rest of you can write about the chips......... They were good. We both had fajitas (steak). Again very good. 3). Drinking a - BYO, enough said! 4) Location - little hard to find, don't give up. 5) Prices - very good - fairly priced. Hi, Went to this place last night and the service and environment is great. Very spacious and uncrowded - lovely server - really attentive. Prices are reasonable. I ordered beef sopa and it was tasteless but done well but just low on flavor. I had the jicama salad that I loved 2 years ago before pandemic and now I dont understand the jarred cactus. Usually, it was fresh everything but these mushy jarred cactus were disappointing. The salad dressing was delicious and the jicama crunchy. My siblings and I (a group of 10) planned a birthday party at Viva Mexico on a Friday night. There was sibling confusion with the reservation, and when we arrived at 6 pm on a Friday night we discovered that no one had made the reservation. We expected to have to go somewhere else; however, the staff there managed to provide us a large table in a very nice room! We had an excellent dinner. I don't eat meat and was able to find an excellent meal that I truly enjoyed. My siblings and their partners were also delighted with the options and their meals. The appetizers and meals came in good time, prepared as we asked, and were cooked perfectly and very tasty. In addition, since it was a birthday, they brought out a large, Mexican sombrero for photos with the birthday girl, and we had a great time passing the sombrero around for photos (you don't get to keep the sombrero.) The staff was very patient with our antics. We had wonderful meal and a great time, and will definitely go there again! Also, special kudos to Brandon, Ashley and Jose who were all great staff members and made our experience very enjoyable. We stopped in on a Saturday night. We did not have reservations but were seated immediately. We were given lunch menu by mistake, no big deal. It took 10 Ming to flag someone down to get a dinner QR code printout for dinner menu. Out waitress was nice but clearly in a big rush. Meanwhile other members of the front house staff were socializing with friends that were sitting for dinner. After ordering we waited 40 min, then finally made contact with a waiter (they avoid eye contact because they probably don't want to be stopped) and asked when our food would be out (2 entrees). 20 min later it was an hour wait for food and when it arrived the beans were congealed, the rice was bland and flavorless, the chicken in enchiladas was totally dry and over cooked - inedible. This place could be good but they need to focus on quality and most important NOT SEAT MORE CUSTOMERS THAN THEY CAN HANDLE. If a party walks in with no rez, instead of seating right away just tell them it will be 40 min before we can seat you, or at the very least "it may take a long time for food". We have nothing good to say about this place and would encourage the owners and GM to get a grip on what they can actually handle then make adjustments as they lost potential patrons forever and certainly wouldn't recommend to friends. Sad that it went that way. Could be something nice. Maybe time for a change in the management and chef. read more

Ambience - felt like we were in Mexico - reminded us of some restaurants in Valladolid. Food - the chips and salsa they brought were fresh and authentic. There was much more variety compared to the big chains. The food took some time to come out but was very fresh and flavorful. Service was great - very polite and helpful waitress. The food is very good, prices were reasonable, my only complaint was that the service while friendly was a bit on the slow side for the lunch I've had there. My family was there for a dinner a week or so later and didn't seem to have this issue at all, so may have just been that was the difference between lunch and dinner as I hear the place gets very busy during the dinner rush. Would definitely eat there again when in the area, I just think Los Chilitos over in the Lebanon/Whitehouse Station area of Route 22 is a nodge better when compared. read more
