The tacos were good and not stingy with the fillings. My hub loves the California burrito which is like a big fajita wrapped up with all the toppings. The chips are fresh and service was very friendly. We first sat in a booth that had a broken seat so maybe the interior could use some sprucing up, but there's a large deck with lots of tables for when it's nice outside. read more

I visited for lunch today with my kids and their grandmother. We were able to sit out on the patio which was fairly cool for such a warm day. We had a small dog with us as well so we sat near the corner of the patio. Our sever was fast and very attentive. The food was really great! Everything was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The one thing I didn't love was the initial salsa was very bland but the spicy salsa was GREAT! My oldest has a thing for ceviche and for the money it was just alright. Flavor was a bit lacking but the addition of the lime helped. For $19 I expected a little better but the presentation was beautiful. I highly recommend the chunky guacamole which we could have gotten 2 orders of but decided we probably should save room for the entrees. If you have kids their kids chicken fingers is a huge plate. The fries were great, chicken was a little overcooked. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back! read more

We have so many choices for Mexican food in Greenville. Today we decided to try Viva Villa in Mauldin. Now let's be clear- we are Las Meras Tortas fans to be sure but man- let's talk about the tacos at this place- to die for. We had the Asada, Pastor, and Carnitas tacos. The meat was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of fresh onions and cilantro. The presentation was nice as well with a roasted jalapeño and onion. The service was fast and efficient. Went in to try the birria tacos and ended up in the hospital from food poisoning for 3-4 days! I HIGHLY recommend passing this place & eating somewhere else. That was the 2nd time I went and the service was bad both visits. read more

Three of our four orders were wrong and the food was cold. I asked for crispy tacos, I got tepid soft tacos. My rice and beans were absolutely cold. My friend ordered her pollo Loco entree without any peppers and it came smothered with sautéed green and yellow peppers. My husband's rice and beans were cold, Chips and salsa were good but we will not be returning to this place. read more

I visited Viva Villa with much anticipation after reading glowing reviews on the Greenville location. The restaurant is a needed addition to the Mauldin restaurant scene. The restaurant has a clean look inside with optional outside porch seating. The food is best described as "under-whelming" for me. I like the chips warm or hot. That's not the case here. With fajitas, they must come out sizzling on a hot plate for my taste. There is no sizzle and no hot plated fajitas here. It's almost like the fajitas are cooked well in advance and spooned onto a plate. Service was fair. Viva Villa is convenient, but, if you are looking for fresh hot Mexican food, you may want to drive a little further. read more

A delicious hole in the wall surprise! I've seen several restaurants come and go from this location and honestly just thought this would be the next but noticed on Yelp that it was a favorite for Mexican food in Mauldin. The interior is small and busy but we were still able to get a table right away. The menu has all of your traditional Mexican favorites along with a few additional speciality items. We went for Saturday dinner and I tried the Shrimp fajitas which was quite delicious. My wife ordered the Mojarra Frita and she really enjoyed it. Both entrees were generous portions. The service is over the top friendly and attentive. The start of each meal comes with house salsa and chips. Both were great, the chips were nice and thick and the salsa tasted really fresh. First time here. Service is ok, not as friendly as most places but not rude. Portion size is not as big as most Mexican restaurants while you still pay the same amount. But the food is really good. You really want the "Chunky Guacamole". It is soo fresh and good. The sopes were delicious. The salsa was good. The soda tasted right. It's a winner. "Small or large?" Was the question. "Large" was the answer. I think this beer was a 32 ounce beer! (See photo). I had two Tinga chicken street tacos and one asada steak taco, corn tortillas and as is the norm, cilantro and onions. My son had two asada and three pastor. Service was attentive but not too much so. A few families showed up for an early dinner. A few barflies hit the bar for a happy hour (Thursday). Restrooms are clean. Tacos were good, just a bit dry, salsas were good. Tortillas were a little drier than most. All in all a serviceable meal, nothing bad but nothing outstanding, good beer. I would definitely return, but it's not close to some of the best tacos in town.

The churro was warm and rolled in cinnamon and sugar, the outside was crispy and the inside was soft and chewy. The quesadilla was crispy and had seasoned shredded chicken breast and cheese inside. The Tres Leches cake was a chocolate cake, it didn't look like other tres leches cakes I've seen, the presentation was a hmmmm. I can't give my opinion on the taste, I'll leave that to the coworker I got the cake for. It's a nice restaurant that I would order from again.
