My nail tech Kim was such a friendly, nice sweetheart and she did an EXCELLENT job on my nails. I loved that she made the shape as natural as possible and made sure I was happy with my nails every step of the way. The salon itself is gorgeous and very clean. I definitely recommend this place. The price for a gel full set being only 45 versus the competition is pretty good. And the environment is super friendly as well. read more

I got a gel removal and mani. Unfortunately, there was not enough people working so I was in there for a total of 1.5 hours. The manicure ultimately felt rushed and was not done very well. They are still getting their stride as a salon and are currently understaffed. I do hope this salon can hire more skilled technicians and a receptionist. My technician had to get up a few times to checkout customers or attend to other mani/pedis. TIP: Bring cash for tip. You cannot add tip to your bill. I had to pay an additional $2.75 to use the ATM machine at the back. I would have appreciated being told when I booked my appointment to come with cash so I could have been prepared. I do recommend that the business consider setting up a Venmo account to make the checkout process a pain free experience for their customers. This would enable customers to be able to pay the total plus add tip through the Venmo app. read more

I've had several nail services here. Yes, they are busy so you may have to wait if you don't have an appointment. It's worth it. The staff is friendly and experienced. The salon is clean and has a wonderful selection of colors and products. I've even witnessed the staff being treated extremely rudely by guests who didn't want to wait. Terrible Customer Service!!!!! I called in for an appointment for 2 people. I showed up on time and STILL had to wait over 30mins. They even let another customer go ahead. I straight up just left! I went to another nails solan right down the street, they were even more busy BUT manage to still help me and my sister on time. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS SALON!! This place is good or bad depends on who you get. My first time there was with a middle age lady for shellac manicure and she was very gentle, professional and careful. My second time there was with a middle age guy for the same service and he was terrible. He was like in a rush or something, not helping me with choosing color and tried to skip some final hand massage steps, very rude. read more

The reno on this space was done very nicely. It's clean and fresh. I've used their mani/pedi service probably 8 times and they've done a decent (not fantastic, but good enough)job, with the EXCEPTION of my last visit. I went this past Sunday with a girlfriend and both of our nail tech's were rude, if not a little hostile. I get it, it was probably the end of a very busy weekend, but please don't take it out on ME (or my friend). It got to a point where we were actually laughing at the absurdity of the situation. When my nails were drying, i dinged one on the counter and I actually repainted myself (wasn't about to ask her to redo it :( ) So, I don't think that we'll be going back anytime soon. They need to work with their staff on customer service and try and keep the turnover low on the the nail technicians. read more

I had a gel manicure with Kayla at Vivian Nail spa and was very pleased with the results. The next time I went, Kayla was not there and the manicure I received was mediocre at best. I decided to only made appointments with Kayla. The day of my next appointment, I received a call from Vivians saying Kayla was not going to be there. I rescheduled for this past Saturday (9/25) at 1:00. When I arrived, I was told Kayla was not there. This time I did not receive a call. I said to the person at the desk, I still have a 1:00 appointment. She very rudely told me I could wait or come back. I asked what time and she said 5:00. Needless to say, I did not stay or go back and I will not visit Vivian Nail Spa again. I'm sorry for Kayla because, like I said, she did a great job. read more

Visited this nail salon yesterday for the first time, and I am absolutely NEVER coming back! The man who did my nails rushed through the entire process and left my nails looking horrible. Called ahead to make an appointment for before my bridal shower. I asked specifically if they had enough room for all three of us to sit next to each other during our manicures and they said yes. When we showed up they had us sit separately which was annoying. The techs didn't talk to us at all, didn't even try to be friendly. My mom's nails looked good, her tech took her time and did a good job; can't say the same for my maid of honor and myself. It's been 2 days and my gel is already lifting, she filed my nails down to nothing and a bad shape at that even though I asked her not to, and my maid of honor's nails looked sloppy. This nail spa is incredibly clean and well-kept. My issues were mainly with the service I received and the quality of work. I was greeted upon arrival and asked for a manicure and pedicure. I thought the pricing was a little much especially since there are so many add on's like callus removal that will cost additional money - something that is usually included in a standard pedicure. A nice surprise that people have mentioned is the warm lotion for the massage and the paraffin dip for the feet. However I thought that the massage portion of the pedicure was rushed. Then for my manicure I asked for gel and made it clear multiple times that was what I wanted. When I sat down for my manicure the woman started pulling out the base coat for a polish. I told her no, I wanted gel. She reassured me that she was doing gel, and I had to inform her that the products she was using were not for gel. The woman that assisted me also initially charged me for a regular manicure and then had to ask someone else to explain to me why I needed to pay an additional $20. No big deal, but when I checked my bank statement I had over five charges pending for the additional $20. Also the final product was not ideal. I thought that the gel was so far from my cuticles that it looked like I had already a previous manicure and was ready for another. Also it only lasted about four days before it started to lift. read more

Best nail spa in Reston/Herndon!!! Every tech I've had has been wonderful. They are clean, professional and all super nice.

I went in for a mani/pedi this morning at Vivian's in Herndon. This was the second time I had been there and the first time went well. The pedicure started off well but when she did the brushing of dead skin, she did it so hard that I started to bleed just a little bit from my left foot near the pinky toe. So I figured it was an honest mistake and we went on. She seemed to always be talking on the phone or talking to the people around her and not paying too much attention to what she was doing. Then we went on to the manicure and we finished and I left. When I was home and I was able to put on my glasses, I realized that the white nail polish was completely streaked on each nail. She would have needed to put on another coat of nail polish and I had brought my own nail polish for the manicure. All in all not a good experience and this woman should not be doing nails at Vivian's. I will not return and when I called they offered a new manicure but I just do not have the time to start all over again. Bad experience all the way around. read more

Only plus was that they put a liner in the pedi bowl so it feels cleaner. Nobody here is terrible friendly and that was the first appointment where I booked a regular pedi and gel mani. I chose a black gel color that from the sample showed a little more dimension and interest but she just said "okay black", never saw her go get anything, just pulled a black from the drawer and did the mani but I didn't realize it was just a flat black color until I was all done. The filing was very aggressive and I felt like it weakened the edge of my nails a lot and my ring finger ended up getting very uneven and weird shaped and she even filed them again when the polish was all done which I thought was odd but I defer to the employee. 2 days after the mani I noticed all the edges were chipping up which is not why you pay extra for a gel finally when all the inner and outer edges were looking like I had this mani for a month rather than 5 days, I called and told them. The woman said okay come in and we can fix it so I made an apt. I had every intention of tipping whoever fixed my nails for their time. When I got there I got a very cold reception and they acted surprised, I asked if I could pick a different color since this wasn't the one I chose anyway and they treated me like I lied about the chipping which happened on its own, and said if I wanted another color it would be $25 for a polish change. So I said no, just do black but can I get the black I chose and they ignored it so I let it be. Then the a different tech soaked them and wanted to leave me there until the original tech I had was finished. But after 15 mins my nails were burning so she came back and cleaned it up until the original tech finished. While I waited I noticed how they don't clean anything or wipe down anything including their own hands in between customers I went to original tech (Houng) to redo them but she was clearly pissed that she had to take 20 mins of her time to paint my nails so she left polish on my fingers and apparently lumps and lint under the polish which I noticed outside. I'm not originally from VA so maybe this isn't shocking for people here but in the past when I've had any issue w any establishment, they employees are super nice and are happy to correct the problem before any review goes up. I waited to see how they amended the problem before making a complaint and they obviously messed it up so here we are. Don't waste your time or money in a place where people could care less about your experience. read more

My friend and I went to get our nails done after work 6 days ago. Not only did it take two hours but they made our dip powder so thin that one of my nails broke the next day and two of hers chipped. This place is clean and friendly but there's no point in spending $50 on nails that are going to crack and chip the NEXT day! I got a basic manicure. Chris was the technician. When it came time for a hand massage, he merely put lotion on my hands and arm. Maybe slightly moved my hand, at the most. I asked if that was all for the massage or was there more to come. He said that was it. I missed on the best part of manicures. He cleaned my cuticles well, but nail polish was mediocre to poor. When I got home I saw the unevenness of the second coat. And he could have used acetone to clean the lines of my darker polish. I would not use him or be very careful to ask for what you want. read more

First time I've ever been here and the place is cute and clean and they where able to fit me in right away for a gel polish as i was a walk in. My only issue is that my gel polish started to chip after 3 or 4 days which I've never had chip so fast, normally my gel nails can last one or two weeks before chip and peel off. read more

I had a pedicure and a gel manicure this past Saturday evening (it's Tuesday evening.) The technician did not read that I was supposed to have a manicure, but she was able to squeeze me in even though it was nearly closing time. The pedicure was lovely, but the gel manicure is already starting to chip along the edges and I am very disappointed. I spent $60 on a gel manicure and pedicure and am disappointed that the manicure is not lasting. :( read more

Worst manicure I've had. My nails are nature so it takes awhile to grow them out, asked my nail tech to keep the length and she ends up practically cutting them off. I came in with an almond shape, without even asking me what shape I like my nails or going off the shape I already had she created her own and ended up having to make my nails even shorter to correct her mistake. She didn't take off all the nail polish that I came in with, left some in the corners and tried to just paint over leaving a dark color under the lighter one I was getting. I had to ask her to fix this although she could clearly see it. The manicure also didn't include lotion or a massage. read more

The nail place is great but I would not reccomend Chris. He is sloppy and doesn't pay attention to detail. He trys to work to quickly and gets sloppy. I had to watch him and check everything. It was not relaxing at all. He cut me and got water all over the floonext to me and I almost slipped and fell. He got scrub all over the floor and my shoe next to me. I would come back but will not have Chris work on me. He needs to practice more. read more

The place is clean and beautiful inside. At first, my lady was quiet and seemed snarky but then eventually started talking to me and was nice. The procedure of my nails was perfect, I was getting gel acrylics and she spend time making the shape and width perfect which was so nice. When the time painting came around, she was sloppy and seemed to just want to get it all done. It was a light color and she only did two coats and then got mad when I asked her to do more. When I was drying in the gel machine, she had me place my hands one on top of another in order to dry. Maybe this is normal here and it's okay but it just seemed uncomfortable and crammed to me, I was not impressed. In the end, they turned out alright, the paint is darker on some nails and lighter on others, there's a bunch of paint drips and weird shapes from her rushing so much. Lastly, I have realized that they are placed far away from my cuticles. The way they look now is how they should look in a week or two, they looked like they have grown out, and I just walked out of the place. read more

It is always clean and the staff are friendly. They are helpful if you are looking for a particular color. I run 30-40 miles a week and most pedicures chip in a week and a half, but my pedicures regularly last 3 weeks. Can't recommend enough! read more

I waned to love this place because it is so close to my house...I wanted to love it so bad I went back three times after having to go back each of those three times ANOTHER time to get multiple nails fixed. I even told the technician the last time that we needed to leave my nails under the light longer, she brushed me off and...guess what...two nails peeled THAT day...ugh, like i have time for that:( They were great when they started but I think they just scaled up too fast. I declined to do this and was left sitting around with no service. Also I believe many of their OPI polishes were counterfeit.
