I love this dentist office and my dentist, Dr Hewett. They are incredibly on point when it comes to appointments and reminders. You get calls and texts which I love! I have never had pain issues and it is extremely affordable. The office is small, but in a convenient location and I love going here. They also have TV's and you can put it on whatever channel. They communicate with you too so you know what's going on and aren't in the dark. read more

We shall begin with the good...The dental hygienists themselves were great although seemingly rushed! Very good with my children, through & very kind. The office is also very clean and inviting. But the place is "corporate" ran as the receptionist informed me and despite having my insurance to bill they wanted all payment up front for what was "expected" to be the patients portion (Just to note In case like me you are accustomed to being billed by doctors/dentists for any remaining balance). The receptionist when calling in seemed rushed & bothered by me asking questions as well. And finally the dentist came in with a sales pitch at the end of each visit for the thousands of dollars of work mine & my kids teeth apparently need despite having no cavities & great X-rays.... they provided me with a laundry list of work I "should" have done including removing my wisdom teeth which have never proven to be a problem. She also showed me the discoloration on several of my teeth and tried to convince me they needed to be filled before they became cavities- full on stop! The dentist I've seen for 10 years prior to coming here has never once mentioned such & FYI it's discoloration perhaps try selling me something to whiten it not a filling to keep it from becoming a cavity ... They did fill one small cavity on my sons baby tooth that "could become an issue for the tooth below" that in retrospect we probably could have left alone seeing it's going to fall out soon. Wishing I'd gotten a second option before doling out the cash to have it filled plus I had to take my son back because he couldn't floss between the teeth anymore after the filling and the dentist seemed so bothered she had to repair the work she didn't do well. - it's like a dealership for your mouth with the sales person aka dentist trying to push sales for procedures that probably and/or aren't necessary but that will make corporate money. My family will not be back... we aren't dollar signs we actually want quality honest care. Update: for my children's visit I was told I had to pay upfront but for mine I didn't pay upfront for the same services- what I did pay them upfront did not reflect the dollar amount my insurance says I owed after it was billed on my EOBs - I actually should have paid less - wonder if I'll get a refund? Going to take valuable time to call to sort this out with them - also I got a second opinion on my teeth to follow up with the laundry list I was given of treatments needed & was told none of that was necessary as I had no cavities and my wisdom teeth were just fine - if I'd let her fill the "possible cavities" I would actually have had issues down the road- in the end the way in which this business functions is shady... making people pay too much upfront & pushing unnecessary procedures. One more addition: got a call from a pharmacy informing me a prescription was ready for me to pick up-inquired from where & for what as that pharmacy I don't use & did not know of any prescription - informed it was the dentist calling In a special toothpaste... that she didn't inform me about? I'd knock this down to 1 star if the hygienists themselves weren't nice! read more

I can't even begin to say enough about our experience at this office and with Dr. Hewett. My fiance had an emergency on a Friday afternoon, and he was graciously accepted an hour before close on a holiday weekend....after having no luck with other offices. On top of that, they could not have been more kind. They definitely have 2 new loyal patients and I will recommend them to anyone. read more

awesome dentist ! honest & down to earth ! 6/26/20 i happened across this practice, specifically for convenience ! & found the best place i have ever been ! these professionals are so kind & courteous that u feel like you r dealing with a real friend. u can trust their judgement & they will explain what procedures they suggest you should have to fit all your dental needs along with your pocketbook expenses. nazir is wonderful, i really like her way of thinking and planning all the necessary procedures th at i need to get my smile back on me, without speaking words sobig that i don't have a clue ! u ya know ? she tells me in layman's terms. i am very smart in dealing with dentist previously that do unnecessary procedures that i really don't need and her ideas are the best out of two other dentists including the unc dental school that never di what i originally wanted done in going there for two years. i feel i can trust theses people, the staff are so hospitable and are willing to work with my schedule no matter what we have to do to take care of all my dental needs. i have hope again and am excited about my treatment plan, i actually agree with nazir in scheduling everything in such a way that i can accomplish my goal and i would recommend carolina family dentistry to everyone !! i am so glad that i found them, and i wont go any where else. their state of the art equipment and up to date associates are all very good at what they do. and they aim to please us the customer. after being reluctant with my previous dentists in the past, i explained kinda harsh to them on my first appointment that if they couldn't do what i needed done without doing this and that before i ever reached my main reasons for coming, i would go somewhere else. but they gave accommodated me and with the kind of insurance and money i have to work with , i am confident in going back to them from now on. thanks to their humble service and appreciate the patient/customer first. i think they will have many new clients from me. i have 5 friends that have switched to them ! read more

Me and my kids have been going to this practice every since we moved here 4 years ago, and Dr, Hewett is great!!! His staff is very friendly and my kids love watching the televisions in the rooms, but I had an appointment a few weeks ago, and as I'm pulling in the parking lot I see two women sitting on the ground behind a trash dumpster smoking and one of them is my Hygienist !!! How are you suppose to listen to someone about hygiene that #1, smoke ,on the ground behind a trash dumpster. That's Gross !!! I kept circling around the building and out of the parking lot. I felt bad because Dr. Hewett and the rest of his staff are great, but after witnessing that, I can't do it.... At my last 6 month cleaning I thought I smelled tobacco and smoke, now I know why !!! I had a minor chip in one of my front teeth and just came in to get the chip filled in. The paperwork was quick and easy, and I only had to wait for about 5 minutes! I was impressed with the fact they had TV's in each treatment room, so waiting wasn't a drag in there either. I waited in the dentist chair about 5 minutes as well. Dr. Hewett was phenomenal. He was quick and it is very difficult to even see the line between my actual tooth and the filling. It was a quick, painless procedure. This isn't my regular dentist, but I am definitely considering switching! I think it's worth my drive from Durham to visit this office. I was definitely impressed. read more

I am upset on how unprofessional the staff has gotten. My kids have been going to this office for over 3 years and we have never experienced the unprofessional ways that the employees work like it was experienced yesterday. The assistant that was attending my 6 year old son was talking about her personal life in front of him. Saying that her son was robbed. Floors were wet and rooms had leaks. The receptionist did not know what she was doing. My husband was not informed about any treatment that our kids were receiving. My daughter came home with a bill for fillings that need to get done. When I called to set that appointment the receptionist was rude in telling me that the appointment that I set up for my husband 6 months ago was set up for my son who was just seen and that neither my husband nor my daughter that needs fillings done can be seen on that day. I will be looking for another office because I will not expose my family to unprofessional people. I miss the old staff that was in this office. read more
