Useless. Cameras come up in the app whenever they feel like it, the DVR is rarely available, and the suggested fix is to reboot the cameras. That's like rotating the tires on your care because the motor won't start! I pay $50 a month to them, and in 4+ years nobody has been able to explain to me what that money buys me except monitoring, which I've never needed. They've come out and "tested" the system which consisted of looking at the panel, telling me I needed a software update and leaving after that was done. It didn't fix the problem. I could've bought a camera system outright and installed it myself for a fraction of the cost and gotten at least the same level of performance and probably better. Waste of time and money. They don't even rate the single star, but there's nothing available below that. read more

I had a new security system installed today, and Bassem was absolutely outstanding. He was here for nearly 7 hours and worked with such professionalism, patience, and attention to detail from start to finish. Not only did he complete the installation thoroughly, but he also went above and beyond by running new wiring to make everything cleaner and more secure. He even noticed my air conditioning tubing was loose and took the time to tape and secure it -- something he didn't have to do, but did simply because he cares about doing the job right. It's rare to see that level of dedication and pride in workmanship. Bassem truly exceeded expectations, and I'm incredibly grateful for his hard work and integrity. I had Vivint put into my house. They told me that the system would be wired. I wasn't home for the installation. It is not hard-wired. It's wireless. First I tried to get out of the contract, but that is impossible. Now that the system is actually installed it doesn't even work. The app sucks and doesn't hardly ever work, it won't save settings, and the whole thing is just awful. Their customer service is obviously not in the US, and they literally border on a scam. The sales people are continually coming to my door. I've told them multiple times that I am not interested in their service and they continue showing up day after day. They ring my doorbell causing my dogs to bark like crazy and even after I said, yet again, I am not interested, the sales guy wanted to argue about why I need a system. He continued regardless of how many times I said to stop coming to my house and I had to close the door on him. I don't know how many times I have to tell them to quit coming to my house before they stop. I also called customer service to have my address added to the "Do not contact" list. Vinvint installed a doorbell and Driveway Camera. The technican said my current system was compatible with thier system. He just needed to install a new panel and add a device to the control box in the closet. I got two false alarms within weeks of the install. Talking to Vinvint was a complete nightmare. All they did was try to upsale the whole time. The 2 people I spoke to on the phone. Tried more to upsale than fix my problem. Between the 2 I spent more than an hour and a half on the phone and didn't get the problem resolved. Luckly I could still return the system which I did. The worst coustmer service ever. read more

I've had dogs poop in my lawn repeatedly, things stolen from my car, even almost got into a shootout right in front of my house; only to get none of it caught on my surveillance cameras. We have had a terrible experience with Vivint. Their sales people tell you anything you want to hear to get you to sign a contract. We told the sales person we were only interested in switching from Brinks if they could beat the price we were paying for Brinks. We agreed on a price but quickly had problems with our equipment. Our sales person kept promising free months of service to keep us from canceling. But he would never put it in writing. I asked him 3 times and he always said he would email me the promised adjustment. When we signed up I told the salesman I didn't think we were still under contract with Brinks but I needed to check. He assured me if I still had a contract that Vivint would pay it off up to $4,000. The next day I found out I owed a little over $400. He told me that it wouldn't be a problem and that Vivint would send a debit card in the mail for the remaining balance. A couple weeks later I asked about the card and he told me that Vivint doesn't buy out contracts any longer but in order to keep us as customers, he would take care of it. Right about the time we were about to go past our 30 day trial, our salesman stopped contacting us. I called Vivint to cancel and they told me it was too late. I don't have all the salesman's promises in writing so I don't expect all the promises to be honored, but I have several text messages where he said he would pay off our contract and give us 4 free months of service for our troubles. I showed the messages to Vivint and they refuse to let us out of our contract or pay off our Brinks contract. We are beyond frustrated with Vivint and the shady salesperson and wanted to warn others to get everything they promise you in writing before signing anything. read more

In the past 3 days I've had 2 alarm activations. I was away from the home when my alarm activations was triggered. I notified Vivint that I was away from the home & requested authorities to be dispatched. Neither of the two times did Vivint follow up with me to communicate their findings. Either that the home was/is secure or that there has been damage/a break in. This isn't the first time I've experienced this type of service from Vivint so I'm not surprised. 0 stars! I have owned three homes over 20 years and been in customer service myself for over 30 years and I have never experienced worse service than I have with this company. We had a complete home security system installed nearly 6 years ago. It was fine for a couple years. Expensive but good app and worked well. The. Our driveway camera went down. After an hour & a half on the phone, the only solution offered was a new camera that cost $500 as our camera was now out of date. When we declined, they said they could send a new Wi-Fi router that should fix it and charged us for that. It did nothing. Fast forward another 18 months & we decided to make a change. When we called to cancel service well outside our contract, we were out through the wringer for more than 30 minutes. Then they offered to reduce our monthly payment by 2/3 and replace both cameras for free. Our service had been off for more than a week and no one ever checked on it. Now they want to fix the problem. And after all that, I still have to send an official notice to end service. This is the scam of alll scams! These people should be arrested. After doing some research online for alternatives to ADT for security and monitoring, I came across Vivint. I read a couple of positive articles and gave them a call to get a quote on installing a security system in my new house. The salesman was very friendly and after thinking about it, I deceived to move forward with the process. We got the credit limit and made an agreement to get all the equipment I wanted with a $200.26 deposit. The first issue arised when the manager called the day after I set up my appointment and asked to move the install to the next night even though I had an appointment set for a morning a few days later. We abliged - even though it was a bit of an inconvenience and moved some things around. The next evening 45 minutes after the tech was supposed to arrive, I called the manager and said I couldn't wait any longer and I wanted my original appointment back. He apologies and says this never happens. The tech did arrive on the next scheduled appointment and installed the equipment. I signed the agreement on the iPad and he left. About 10 minutes later, I noticed an attempt to charge over $500 on my credit card from Vivint. After calling billing, I find out it's because the original agreement wasn't followed through and instead of the salesman and manager "chipping" in as they said they would to make the deal - now I'm on the hook. I immediately told the rep I wanted to cancel the whole thing. You are able to cancel within a certain amount of time. They transferred me to their customer loyalty team and the agent their convinced me into letting her contact the salesman to confirm the deal. She told me they would be back in touch within 24-48 hours and I would be able to cancel if I wanted to at that time. After no call back and 3 days passing, I decided to call and follow up with what was going on. Again being transferred to the loyalty department, they apologized, but couldn't do anything because a supervisor wasn't in. Another night wasted on the phone with Vivint and another promise for an email from their superior to fix my issue. Please note - I asked MULTIPLE TIMES since day 1 - to cancel. Nothing is more annoying than being promised something and then have it not come through. Now, however; another caveat - the 3 days has passed to cancel my contract. Even though they promised to contact me and I've now had to call 3 days to try and get this resolved and they keep telling me someone will contact me tomorrow. The latest supervisor I spoke to told me my only option to get out of the contract is to pay the $2200 for equipment and 50% of service for 3 years - my system has only been installed for a week and I have been disputing since day one minute one. Vivint is a scam - they will tell you what you want to hear and then once installed will show their true colors. It seems their goal is to get customers past the 3 days cancellation time and then disregard them and tie them into a contract for supbar service and equipment. The background was so loud and chaotic when I was speaking to the supervisor yesterday it was unbelievable. I can't believe they want me to believe they have the ability to secure my property. DONT SIGN UP FOR VIVINT. I am not cheap and am not a liar. I do expect to be treated with respect as a customer and deserve to have promises kept when dealing with salesmen. A big fat ZERO star for Vivint. Hate the damn useless system. Should never have switch from ADT to Vivint. From the salesman who was a liar to poor Installation, to customer service on the phone. They have the Worst Smoke/fire alarm. More than 10 false alarms in 2 years. I've asked for a follow-up call every single time, but no one ever call me back or came to my home to check on why the equipment keep malfuncting. Worst is that they don't allow a push notification be setup on the app so we can get an instant notice if the smoke alarm is trigger or if it detects a burglary while the system is armed. Also hate their customer rep on the phone are rude and useless. Obviously these people are answering the calls from their home. So unprofessional and distracting with all the background noise, i.e. Kids playing, crying, loud conversations, TV noise, music. And they don't even speak English clear enough to understand them. So damn frustrating. The front door is always acting up. Can't lock or unlock the door remotely half the time. Cameras goes offline at the worst timing. Audio are the doorbell is a joke. We are stuck with them for 5 years. 3 more years to go or we have to pay $2500. Worst experience ever with any company. No large fees for signing up, very helpful on the phone for any issues with system and respond quickly. I had a couple of false alarms that I triggered myself and they responded quickly over the speaker in the panel to ask me if I need help. Horrible experience with them for the last 5 years. My cameras keep going offline hundreds times everyday, some sensors went bad, control penal went black and system stops working for days. You name it all kinds of issues, everytime I called them they never really tried to fix the issue always tried to sell me their new equipments, which are way way way too much overpriced. $400 for one out door camera! I canceled them today and I'm very happy I don't have to deal with them again in my life! I called to switch security systems. I spoke to a really nice women and she told me about a system takeover. Signed me up for services and a few replacement pieces of equipment. Quoted me a monthly price which was around what I was currently paying. Everything was wonderful and I was happy Fast forward to install day. The technician arrived and was nice but informed me that all my window/door sensors (well over 20) could not be taken over and they would cost approx $50/sensor which would dramatically increase my monthly fee as they finance the equipment and work into the payment. This was not even mentioned on the day I called. I call vivant to discuss this and they cancel my contract and loan (wonderful) but that doesn't help with the credit inquiry they ran for my equipment loan. I would never recommend this company. It's very fraudulent not to mention that your payment could potentially increase exponentially PRIOR to running a credit score. Run farrrr away from them especially if you are in the market for a take over or have a lot of windows and doors. We spent almost $11,000 on a Vivint system about a month ago. It still doesn't work. The guys who installed it are no where to be found and the service techs they assigned to fix our system have no call / no showed twice now. Oh, and they left my A/V room looking like a tornado had just gone through it. Every time we call customer service we are answered by a nice person in INDIA who have no idea how to escalate or resolve any issue - it's so bad that they might as well not have a call center. The tech who was assigned to us today answered his phone and said he'd still make it but later, then he ghosted us. Wouldn't answer calls or texts. The system was pretty sharp for the three days that it worked, but I already wished we had gone with a local company who cares about their customers and their reputation. read more

This is a follow up to my recent review of Vivent. As it is posted, at the conclusion of my experience with a Vivent customer neighbor of mine, the business owner of Vivent on Lake Meadin Las Vegas, left a note stating they were sorry to hear of my experience and that they were there to help. Well in the course of my review I pointed out that the disturbance caused by the cat call sound coming from the house was intermittent and was audible only when a resident of the home was outside the residence. Well, someone, I presume from Vivent most likely went to the home and "fixed" the problem by having the cat call go off every few seconds regardless of whether or not a resident was outside. So that is quite likely the spiteful type of people responsible for creating a potentially nasty situation. The point here is that ultimately someone with a conscience stepped in and turned the sound off altogether. The nuisance sounds have completely ceased and it is highly unlikely that it was any representative of Vivent. I was really half expecting to see the roof fly open on a hinge and a huge Jack - the - Box head on the end of a spring pop out and go "boogah boogah boogah" or something like some surreal episode from the 1960's Batman TV series. It was getting pretty problematic for me and the fact that there are children occasionally happening past as well as ladies next door to me whom I really don't know for sure really appreciated the harassing sound of sorts. So if the people responsible for stopping that nonsense is reading this, I extend my most sincere offering of gratitude and thanks. Seriously. Again I doubt it was anyone from Vivent that turned the thing off and with that highly recommend avoiding that company's services. I once again recommend checking Walmart for a wireless security camera system that you can purchase for around if not less than two hundred dollars to get you started with two cameras anyway. If you can operate a power drill, or know someone who can, to drill the holes for the cameras you are in business and ready to go in no time. No monthly cost, just an installation fee if you have to pay a responsible business to put the cameras up where you want them where they will serve you best personally. If you can read and follow relatively simple instructions, you will save a ton each year in fee's whether you decide to not use Vivent or any other obsolete home security service. STAY AWAY!!! We PAID IN FULL but when the technician showed up, his work order is Completely Different than our paid in full quote (it was missing Several of the cameras/sensors we PAID IN FULL for) The technician left. We spent more than an hour on the phone each representative would just transfer us without telling us they were transferring us, then the person who picked up would have no idea what's going on. We spoke to a couple different managers but NO ONE knows what's going on. (one of the managers tried to say that the technician must be inexperienced, although he says he's told me he's been with the company for 20 years. Also, another manager insinuated that I must've let a random person into my house - who was wearing a Vivint shirt and had all my info - instead of one of their technicians. Ummm... even if that's true, the "real" technician never showed up, then. That's ridiculous.) Before the install debauchery, every time we called to try to confirm our quote and pay for it, NO ONE knew what was going on, nor could they find our last quote (even though we had quote numbers) so we always had to go up to a manager to rebuild the quote that we had. They are an absolute hot mess. My mother canceled her system that she has had for years, and I requested a refund and canceled everything, as well. I have yet to be refunded. read more

If i could give zero stars I would. Our home was broken into, NONE of the several motion detectors or glass breaking sensors we ordered through Vivant worked or served their purpose. The alarm only triggered because they tried to access the garage, which was locked and it shook the sensor. The DVR system STILL doesn't work properly, it will take DAYS to load playback features. Our front camera's will go offline for no reason. We've had several techs out here to service them and "temporary fix them" The camera's picture is soo terrible, we can't make out facial features, license plate number, car makes or models. We've called customer service every day, to speak to someone since the break in, - we are placed on hold for over 15 minutes before we are disconnected. We've tried the chat feature several times and it will conveniently disconnected making us start the process all over again. This company has been nothing but vultures. read more
