The wait took about an hour, but once we put in our order we got our drinks quickly. They have a live DJ playing music. I understand why the place is crowded. This is only because they have one single kiosk. With kiosks, people spend a while to decide. Hence it is why the line is long, not because it is beyond extra ordinary. Parkings can be hard to find unless you want to pay for public lots nearby. The staff make matcha on site with the traditional matcha brushes. The drinks are fairly affordable. We ordered a matcha flight of fruits. I personally like the fruit ones but recommend to choose no sweet because the fruits are sweet already. One of the drinks we couldn't tell what flavor it was. TW: CATERPILLAR FOUND IN CHICKEN PESTO SANDWICH ‼ I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich and an iced matcha latte from Vivot Cafe and left traumatized. About 3 bites into my sandwich I notice something moving on the bread. A full on green insect (possibly an insect larva/caterpillar according to AI) which is most likely due to fresh produce not being sterilized or bulk washing not being thorough. I wasn't able to get a clear picture of the insect, my friend took this photo while I was panicking and speaking with the employees. I believe I spoke with the manager, she was an older Asian lady with glasses, who seemed to be confused as to why the insect was there and only kept repeating that "all of the produce is fresh". She initially only wanted to refund me for the chicken pesto sandwich and freaked out when the cashier had "over-refunded me for my entire total". She was able to move past it and allowed the full refund, only because I had already "accidentally" gotten the full refund. lol I ended up throwing away the matcha as well because I couldn't bear the thought of ingesting any item from here. I'm only writing this review to spread awareness so people refrain from buying food items from this cafe or at least move with extreme caution. Clearly there was rush and some form of negligence in this establishment which makes me upset because this should never be the case. Especially if it is at the expense of a customer finding a bug in their $12 food item. I'm truly so disgusted at this experience and it brought me lots of distress because I had no idea if there were more insects in the sandwich or if I even possibly ate one within the 3-4 bites before catching it. Came here because I saw that they did matcha flights, which I wanted to try. There's free parking in the back, so it's a convenient spot to check out if you are coming by car. Unfortunately they didn't have the matcha flight anymore. I'm not sure if they discontinued it but it wasn't available to me when I came here. Instead I got their iced ube matcha and matcha einspanner. Both drinks were really good! The matcha was so flavorful and pungent, but not overpowering. You can still taste the ube flavor in the ube drink, while still tasting the matcha. Both drinks were also not too sweet, and was perfectly balanced. They were refreshing drinks, and I am so curious to try their other drinks since these two were so good. They also sell pastries and ice cream here, which I didn't try this time around but would try the next time I'm here. Even though there was a long line, servers were really patient and friendly, making sure things go well. I got myself regular matcha latte, blueberry matcha latte, and maniac matcha out of curiosity. Both of my lattes were pretty good and not too sweet, earthy matcha. A few issues I noticed were clumpy powder, and blueberry had artificial sweet. Maniac Matcha was the one that you needed to sign waiver for since consuming 10g of matcha was not ideal. I was hoping to get a stronger matcha taste which I did, but it got clumpy and too powdery. The matcha cream helped bringing different taste and sweetness. Maniac was good but sometimes too much is not always a good thing. Their teas are what drew me here again as well as the late night open hours (midnight closing). I love the layout of the cafe and there is a lot of seating around.
