On my first visit I try a flight of teas, consisting of oolong, black, Thai, and Earl grey. The oolong was solid, the black was good, the Thai was sweet the way I like it, while the Early grey unfortunately tasted rather artificial. I liked the overall setup of the establishment, with lots of tables that are ideal for college students or couples. It's not best for large group hangouts. The aesthetic is modern and chic, though the floors are rather dirty and the doors and wood paneling scuffed. Due to its location in Downton Fullerton, parking can be a pain, especially during peak hours. Fortunately all of the baristas are nice, competent, and knowledgeable. It's seems pretty rare to find a place that serves matcha flights so when we found this place we HAD TO GO! Word was going around that they limit to serve about 50 flights per day so we made sure that we went early. Parking was way easier in the morning anyway. The cafe has such cute indoor seating areas. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Theres a kiosk to order from at the counter. We chose the matcha flights with the cloud foam on top. They also have a fruity matcha flights but we've been on a kick to find the best matcha Einspanner so we stuck with this one. I actually bookmarked this shop before they changed the name (and I guess left the franchise) from Sojeatea to Vivot. I think the name was the only change made though; the shop design and menu remain the same as before, from what I can tell. The tea shop has a huge interior and a minimalist design with wooden panels and tables, hanging lights, plants, and my favorite, an open bar so you can watch them make your drinks. Since they're known for their matcha drinks, my friend and I tried a variety across the board. Between the two of us, we ordered the Matcha einspanner, matcha strawberry, Pandan matcha, and oolong milk tea. To be honest, I feel like I've had better quality ceremonial grade matcha elsewhere, but the flavors here were on point. My favorite by far was the pandan matcha. Most importantly, for me at least, they're dog friendly! My fur babies had a blast the few times I've brought them. I remember driving by Sojeata last year and being disappointed when there was no seating but alas we are back after their rebranding to Vivot! They have a super extensive matcha menu but I wish they still had their matcha flights (there's a sign saying they got discontinued back in September 2024). I ordered a blueberry lavender matcha with 0% sweetness and I thought it was perfect because there's still quite a bit of sweetness from the fruit puree. It was a little bit grainy from the blueberry though, so I'm not sure if I would get this one again but their matcha is solid quality and the colors are gorgeous. I tried my friend's pandan matcha and it was too sweet even after he had lowered the sugar, so take that as you will. You order at an iPad, which is nice because you can hit all of the buttons, but the baristas are super available if you have questions. They don't charge for alternative milk (almond/oat/soy) and they use Silk! Service is fast, WiFi is okay, but it's super crowded -- likely due to the nature of being so close to so many colleges -- and a lot of people (myself included) were squatting in spots working. It faces west so it gets stupidly bright in half of the seats after like 2pm ;-; There's plenty of paid parking around and if you're willing to walk, there's plenty of free parking a couple of blocks away, too! read more

I went here for the first time and I loved the vibes. There were many people studying and chit chatting with their friends, which is what I would come back and do. Plenty of seating and good lighting. I ordered off the tablets and got a hojicha latte with oat milk and sticky rice foam, matcha einspanner, and a mango green fruit tea with boba. The drinks came out in about 5-10 minutes but halfway through a worker calls my name to ask if a hojicha is what I wanted and wasn't confusing it for a matcha. Maybe people order a hojicha, thinking it's a matcha?? but still nice of them to ask just to be sure. The drinks were very good and I took a chance on the sticky rice foam, but to my surprise it was super good! There were small bits of sticky rice in the foam and it had a good level of sweetness to it. If you don't like some texture in your drink/foam, then this foam is probably not for you. The mango great tea was not my personal favorite since it had a strong floral taste to it which I was not expecting. However the other two drinks were very very delicious and were very well crafted. The ordering kiosk is extremely convenient and lists out the drink options alongside the available milk options and recommended milk options for each flavor. I got a matcha flight with Strawberry, Banana, Lychee, and Blueberry flavors. That's also my list of least favorite to most favorite, in that order! Though all of them were very good, and I was especially excited to see a lychee flavor on the menu. As far as I could tell, these were all made with actual fruits, not flavorings. This is great because they tasted very natural, but I also wish the flavors could've been stronger, especially on the strawberry matcha. The matcha flights are dine in only and do take awhile to prepare. Be ready to wait around 15 minutes for it to be prepared! They also have several signs that recommend stirring the drinks, but no stir sticks available that I could find.
