They did a great job fixing my pipe that was leaking. He had to cut into the dry wall but did his best to cut only what he had to access the pipe. Technician advised me on problem and solution. Fixed the problem in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend them to others. read more

Kesh showed up ON TIME and resolved the problem in a half hour, which is very critical when it's a shared water line for multiple units in an condo complex. He knew all about how to turn the water on slowly to accomodate a large building's water supply. They did a great job on replacing water pressure regulator, replacing two bathroom sink faucets, and replacing our shower faucet. That required accessing through the wall. They patched things up neatly. They are not the cheapest plumber in town, but they provide great value at a reasonable price. They know what they are doing, and my side and I found them to be trustworthy. We will definitely hire them again when necessary. So here is the problem. I have used this plumber for about 20 years. Mostly for small items but occasionally for major problems. I have never not paid a bill and have never questioned their invoices. The only complaint I had in the past was that they leave the area in a mess. On Friday December 15th we had a major pipe break under the floors. I immediately called him and he came out and shut off the hot water and was to return on Monday. We discuss insurance coverage and he felt it would be covered. On Monday he tells me we have to pay everything in advance because it is company policy not to deal with insurance. This is the first problem. He is the company. Don't hide behind "the company" when it is you. As a result he will not defer payment until State Farm pays. (P.S. I have had them and our family has had State Farm for over 80 years. They always pay.) Next I ask we we can defer payment for a week and half. Its an unexpected expense and I just need that time to get the money together. The cost will be a minimum of $1800.00 and involves tearing up the floor. He does not respond. So now we are without water for 3 days so far. If you want to keep long term customers, maybe you should alter the "company" policy when asked once in over 20 years. Whats the point of building up a long term relationship with smaller jobs when you cannot respond to a true emergency in an unbending manner. read more

V.J.s looked promising, reading the reviews. I appreciate a family run company as I feel they are more dependable and a contractor you can rely on for years to come. V.J.'s Plumbing Inc. is fabulous. I'm staying at a friend's house in Santa Monica for five days. I closed the drain to wash a swimsuit and couldn't get it open again. The lever didn't work, a butter knife didn't work. I was at wit's end. I was lucky to call V.J.'s. Kesh, the owner's son, answered the phone at 8:10 a.m. on the first ring and called me back when reception was rough. A pipe broke under my house on a weekend. The shut off valve at the street was rusted closed and the crawl space was flooding fast! V.J. Plumbing was the ONLY plumbing service that listed an emergency number. (!) Thank God. (Everyone else said "Leave a message, we'll call you back on Monday.") By Monday we would have floated out to sea! Thankfully VJ's son, Kash, answered our desperate call, arrived with a helper and did a very good job pumping the crawl space out; then fixed the section of broken pipe (while lying on a piece of cardboard amid the mud!) Absolutely love these guys (worthy of my first ever review)! SO responsive, fair, and good! After moving in and discovering problems with our new home that prevented hot showers, we called, based on a referral, and Kesh came immediately (15 minutes!) and created a fix that bought us time to fix the bigger problem that required a different type of provider. Later that day, we discovered a new problem with the refrigerator, and he and Mo were back out first thing in the morning. They made themselves available during the weekend if we would need them when the refrigerator guys came back. And only after all of that was resolved did he give us a bill!--which unsurprisingly for these guys, was so fairly priced. I was initially referred to V.J.'s Plumbing by my next door neighbor, who was very pleased with their service. We first used them a few months ago when we had a major gas leak from our pipeline. They did a terrific job not only replacing our pipeline, but causing as little damage and disruption as possible to our lawn and hardscape. The workers were professional, courteous, and it was a very fair price. Today, we had a burst pipe under our home caused by our hot water heater, leaving 6" of standing water under the house. Kesh (VJ's son) came right out and repaired it within the hour. It was an awful job, and Kesh handled it with the same professionalism, good nature, and fair pricing that we had experienced before.
