I like the location of this restaurant , it's small but intimate and still spacious enough for groups they have indoor and outdoor seating the host Pearl was so nice and friendly she welcomed me and my daughters right when we came in and made suggestions and provided good customer service , while we waited she offered us drinks really good energy . I love the food here, the portions are decent I will admit I feel like the prices are high but the food is still good

The Volcano Grille is an almost fast-casual order and pay at the counter Japanese-sort of Hibachi type of restaurant with two locations in Las Vegas (one closer to the airport and this one close to the Durango Hotel/Casino). You basically order a plate, bowl, or Hibachi burrito here. They recently won an award for BEST Japanese Restaurant (according to Channel 5) and also recently were featured on TWO different local channels. they looked and sounded so good on TV that we felt compelled to give them a try. The girl at the counter was helpful and made the ordering as pleasant as possible. We both ordered two protein plates. My side came out first like an appetizer. It was the strawberry miso salad. It was a very plain salad with old dried out carrot shreds and crispy fried noodles. My husband's side came out on his plate and he got soggy spring rolls. Out of our 4 proteins we got only one was good. (beef, Shrimp, Fried Chicken, & Salmon) To my surprise the best (but not perfect) protein was the beef because it was tender and tasty but cooked past the medium-rare request. The worst was the fried chicken. It was lukewarm warm and so dried up and so stringy it should have been trash. The next worst was the shrimp. It was cooked nicely but tasted like OLD Shrimp. The salmon was just over cooked. We both had the 1/2 noodles and the 1/2 grilled rice. I thought the noodles were OK but for some reason we both didn't care for the rice. Not all but most of the side sauces we tried were horrible. Only the Japanese Salsa was ok (tasted like salsa with a little soy sauce) and the Sriracha tasted like a Sriracha. For the most part if I am summing things up. It was like the food was from an old budget buffet.

We love Volcano Grille. You get so many options of sauces, sides, and proteins. The combinations are limitless. For a hot pool day, we ordered take out. We chose the standard pick 2 proteins. We chose chicken katsu, Japanese fried chicken with yakisoba noodles and vegetables. We also got the traditional pick with a choice of steak and chicken (we chose teriyaki chicken) along with yakisoba noodles, shrimp, and grilled vegetables. You get to choose the cook of your steak. Everything was delicious and extra satisfying on a hot poolside day. The food was a family hit. Kids and parents loved it. So easy to order, pick up, and have a well balanced meal with protein, veggies, and carbs.

This was my first time here and had the pleasure of being helped by Cam and Brooklyn. Both were amazing and explained everything. The food was amazing! See the video! Food was 10/10. We ordered a burrito with Japanese chicken and shrimp with noodle, rice and mac salad. We also ordered a plate with steak, chicken katsu and shrimp with grilled rice. It was delicious! The location was very clean. Amazing art on the wall. Definitely coming back again! Don't sleep on this place!

10/10!! Started with incredibly friendly and helpful staff to help us narrow down options. The food was to die for, complete with yummy sauces and the protein was cooked top notch. Loved the vibe and music, would be back!

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. I placed an order to pick up. The premium plate, two items, filet mignon & grilled shrimp with rice, noodles & veggies. I'd say it was just OK. Here's why I say this: I ordered filet mignon, I ordered it medium & it was well done & I've had filet many times theirs was So/So. The shrimp was good. I also felt it wasn't quite enough to fill me up. Look at the picture, Not much steak & shrimp & too much of the other stuff (see picture) $30.00 Also, I'd eat at the restaurant, in my opinion picking it up is not the way to go. I'd probably go back if they offered me like half off my next order. Don't think I'll go back.

2 premium protein plate with rice, noodles and grilled vegetables

Ive been wanting to try Volcano Grille for awhile. I ordered the 2 premium protein plate with steak and shrimp. My sides were grilled veggies, white rice and noodles. The shrimp and steak were cooked perfectly. I chose traditional cook. Their fuji yumma and ginger sauce were tasty with my proteins. I wouldn't choose the grilled vegetables again. There wasn't very much of it, and I tasted like it had some kind of sauce on it which I didn't want. It is a bit pricey. This plate was $30. I got 6 medium shrimps and what I would say was a single serving of steak. The pricing is probably in line with a sit down Teppanyaki place.

I had the single standard protein which was tofu. I also had the grilled rice & yokisaba noodles & veggies. I made the mistake of getting the lava teriyaki but that was my mistake. Everything was piping hot & fresh. Inside was nice & inviting & the service was exceptional. Will definitely try again

Did a 1 item premium protein with grilled veggies, white rice and noodles. I got the steak and I have to say I wasn't expecting what I got at all. That steak was cooked perfectly and taste was on point. This steak was incredibly tender. The veggies were grilled perfectly. This is definitely going to be on my places to get lunch when I'm in town for work.

    Kids chicken not GLPetite Chicken

Be careful these people like to trick you and steal from you. I ordered a GL petite chicken plate and paid $14. Got the same size as a kids chicken which cost $9. I called them and they didn't even bother to do anything. Sadly my son's katsu was also burnt and not golden brown. The food is honestly not worth the price. Very over priced. They also didn't give me a sauce.

    Burnt to shit chicken.

$60 for two people at lunch...first off is out of control. Insane cost. Not worth the cost I'm assuming even if they did it correctly. But I got fried chicken that was so burnt and charred it looks like they did it intentionally. Anakin skywalker didn't look this bad. I will not be going back. And recommend no one else does either.

First time here and for me and my husband it felt like a mini Benihana absolutely delicious and service from the beginning was amazing, Brooklyn was very helpful in explaining how it works with "create-a-plate" or volcanoritto. Also Cam who approached us with such a welcoming attitude... Definitely 1 out of 10 I would rate it a 10+ . Thank you again.

Are they now open for dine in?

Yes! Now open for dine in!

Are you back to having dine-in service yet? Since lockdown, I've been wanting and waiting for you guys to reopen.

There is no place to dine-in. No tables or chairs. Walk-in place order & go.

How many ounces of white chicken are there in a plate with three servings?

I don't have the exact answer but I could tell you that I can never finish my food

Is this place still open for delivery because I can't find any delivery options?

We will be open again after quarantine!

    Are there gluten free options?

Hello! Unfortunately we currently have a very limited gluten free menu. Salmon, lobster, shrimp, and grilled tofu would be the only proteins that can be altered.

For refreshments, they have an extensive wine list, red wines, white & sparkling wines, sake, beer & seltzers, bottle & draft beer, martinis, cocktails, and non alcoholic. I ordered Veggie Yakisoba ($13.95) and requested a side of sauce, very delicious! Stir-fried noodles are nice and chewy, cooked al dente, yakisoba sauce is yummy and has a delightful sweetness, plentiful veggies including crisp broccoli, zucchini, onion, carrots, and mushrooms. I tried Golden California Roll (8 pieces, $9), it's lightly deep fried roll, inside has crabmeat and avocado, served with eel sauce, good and tasty! Also had Shrimp Shumai (5 pieces, $5.95), this one's good too! Steamed shrimp is hearty, served with homemade dumpling sauce. The sauce is a little spicy. I asked one of the server Alex if I could switch to gyoza sauce, and he was quick to accommodate. Gyoza sauce is mild with a hint of sweetness, and yummy with shrimp shumai, very filling and savory! For sweets, they have mochi with ice cream flavor for vanilla, matcha, strawberry, and mango, fried ice cream, cheesecake, and fried banana. I opted for Vanilla Ice Cream ($2.59), they give a generous scoop topped with fluffy whipped cream, colorful sprinkles, and chocolate drizzle, it's splendid, not too sweet, and yummy! Atmosphere is so relaxing, pleasant, and lively with awesome music. There were several hibachi stations creating an incredible party vibe. Many were singing happy birthday and songs like "Time of Our Lives" by Ne-Yo and Pitbull, it's so cool! Service from Susan, Alex, Lily, and bartender Leo is very kind, welcoming, attentive, helpful, and friendly! The restaurant has 14 teppanyaki grills, eight in the main room and six in the VIP room, plenty of seating, and the dining area is fantastic for entertaining a big gathering, birthday party, bachelor party, or any special occasion.

I can't help but wonder if assumptions were being made--whether about our preferences or something else--but regardless, it wasn't appropriate. To make matters worse, we were only asked and given only one ice cream instead of two since it was supposed to come with each combo order. Maybe they assumed adults don't care for dessert? When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't very busy, with only a couple of other groups dining and one waitress working. She was polite and pleasant, but a bit timid and not very conversational. As first-time visitors in a while, we would have appreciated a little more guidance through the menu and the different ordering options. We ended up just winging it and ordering the AYCE lunch menu. One thing worth noting is that we tried ordering from the mixed drink menu but were told they don't serve mixed drinks until 4 PM. We then attempted to order the lychee sake, but unfortunately that wasn't available either. It was a bit of a bummer since we were looking forward to having a drink with our meal, but it's good information to know for future visits. The food was definitely the highlight of our visit. The sushi rolls came out quickly, and we especially enjoyed the spicy edamame, shrimp tempura, and the Fatass Roll. The nigiri was also very good. My favorites were the salmon belly and unagi. I appreciated that they don't overload the nigiri with rice, which lets you really enjoy the flavor of the fish. The sushi chef was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. He personally brought several of our rolls to the table and even refilled my husband's drink a few times, which we appreciated. Overall, the service from the waitress felt a little lacking, and we were disappointed by the limited drink options during our visit.
