First time trying it because my nephew suggested to go after our walking exercise. We had late lunch and wasn't too hungry and ordered the kids menu steak and another with chicken. The rest of our party ordered the plate and burgers. I was slightly disappointed with the portion for the regular menu and kids menu. I have to say, the food was so tasty and delicious. Too bad there wasn't more to go around. Service was super friendly and attentive. They gave all of us bags for our orders even though we were eating there. I felt bad and folded my bag nicely so they can use it again. I feel like the bags would go to waste because the good bag just end up being a trash bag or thrown away. Maybe they can use trays to deliver food or just bring the food out without using the bag.

This review is based on my wife's recent visit when she took some out odlf town friends for a late lunch. The were pretty impressed with all the food they ordered to include the fried rice, noodles, chicken, steak, shrimp and katsu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was nice and front counter staff friendly (Summer help them).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, she said they had a great experience and some delicious food.

So we came here and was immediately greeted with a smile. Kailee helped us out as it was our first time and had no clue how it works. She was kind and funny and patient with explaining the ins and outs of the menu. She was constantly checking on us to make sure we were comfortable. Now the food. It was perfect! The shrimps were juicy, the steak super tender, and salmon was cooked to perfection. Did I say this this was all in a burrito??!! Yes it was! The other order was with beef patties, noodles, mixed veggies, tofu and chicken katsu. It was all cooked to perfection however the tofu stole the show! I don't even like tofu but that tofu was amazing!!! Perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside!!! This place is fire!

I'll start off with the food, it's fantastic. The owners of both locations are very meticulous about Volcano Grille's taste. Always cooked fresh to order with fresh ingredients and seasoned to perfection. The ingredients are also top notch and are of great value for what you get. Be careful though, price can be driven up quickly with all the options available, but know that the quality will match the price. Service was great, all folks involved were very attentive and assured our satisfaction. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dining in is fast casual, but very comfortable ambience with a bit of nerdiness if you look closely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On purpose, it's pretty fantastic. Dining in or out, you'll have great presentation of the food. Have feedback? The owners listen, but please be considerate and constructive. They are amazingly receptive. Before I forget, the sauces are also made daily and top notch. My personal favorites are the Japanese Salsa, Wasabi (one location might be spicier or greener than the other, owner is working on buttoning that up so they are both consistent), and Tonkatsu. They've won best of Las Vegas for a reason. So why 4 stars? Because I truly believe they still have room for improvement and that is not necessarily a bad thing. One thing is for sure, I do plan to stop by at least once when I travel to Vegas. Unless they open one in Atlanta...

The Volcano Grille is an almost fast-casual order and pay at the counter Japanese-sort of Hibachi type of restaurant with two locations in Las Vegas (one closer to the airport and this one close to the Durango Hotel/Casino). You basically order a plate, bowl, or Hibachi burrito here. They recently won an award for BEST Japanese Restaurant (according to Channel 5) and also recently were featured on TWO different local channels. they looked and sounded so good on TV that we felt compelled to give them a try. The girl at the counter was helpful and made the ordering as pleasant as possible. We both ordered two protein plates. My side came out first like an appetizer. It was the strawberry miso salad. It was a very plain salad with old dried out carrot shreds and crispy fried noodles. My husband's side came out on his plate and he got soggy spring rolls. Out of our 4 proteins we got only one was good. (beef, Shrimp, Fried Chicken, & Salmon) To my surprise the best (but not perfect) protein was the beef because it was tender and tasty but cooked past the medium-rare request. The worst was the fried chicken. It was lukewarm warm and so dried up and so stringy it should have been trash. The next worst was the shrimp. It was cooked nicely but tasted like OLD Shrimp. The salmon was just over cooked. We both had the 1/2 noodles and the 1/2 grilled rice. I thought the noodles were OK but for some reason we both didn't care for the rice. Not all but most of the side sauces we tried were horrible. Only the Japanese Salsa was ok (tasted like salsa with a little soy sauce) and the Sriracha tasted like a Sriracha. For the most part if I am summing things up. It was like the food was from an old budget buffet.

We love Volcano Grille. You get so many options of sauces, sides, and proteins. The combinations are limitless. For a hot pool day, we ordered take out. We chose the standard pick 2 proteins. We chose chicken katsu, Japanese fried chicken with yakisoba noodles and vegetables. We also got the traditional pick with a choice of steak and chicken (we chose teriyaki chicken) along with yakisoba noodles, shrimp, and grilled vegetables. You get to choose the cook of your steak. Everything was delicious and extra satisfying on a hot poolside day. The food was a family hit. Kids and parents loved it. So easy to order, pick up, and have a well balanced meal with protein, veggies, and carbs.

We ordered a burrito with Japanese chicken and shrimp with noodle,rice and mac salad. We also ordered a plate with steak, chicken katsu and shrimp with grilled rice. It was delicious! Such a disappointment. This used to be a good hibachi place where the quality of food matches the prices. I've gone a few times over the past year and the food quality has drastically gone done. First time here and for me and my husband it felt like a mini Benihana absolutely delicious and service from the beginning was amazing, Brooklyn was very helpful in explaining how it works with "create-a-plate" or volcanoritto. Let me start with this: the food is incredible and healthy, with great sauce options and a decent physical location. I used to eat here all the time pre-covid. Lunch was $20/person but the portions were huge and the food quality was top notch, especially the meats. Now it's $70 for a two person dinner. Go to the protein restaurant a block away, it's much more affordable with the same quality food. read more

Be careful these people like to trick you and steal from you. I ordered a GL petite chicken plate and paid $14. Got the same size as a kids chicken which cost $9. I called them and they didn't even bother to do anything. Sadly my son's katsu was also burnt and not golden brown. The food is honestly not worth the price. Very over priced. They also didn't give me a sauce. read more

$60 for two people at lunch...first off is out of control. Insane cost. Not worth the cost I'm assuming even if they did it correctly. But I got fried chicken that was so burnt and charred it looks like they did it intentionally. Anakin skywalker didn't look this bad. I will not be going back. The food was amazing. My husband and I have went back twice since the first time we visited. They give you your monies worth. The takeout portion is smaller but cost less money. The customer service was the best part of this transaction. I ordered 2 double protein plates. One chicken katsu and Japanese fried chicken, the other with Japanese fried chicken and Tokyo patty. The amount of food for the price was ridiculous. I got 3 tiny pieces of chicken (popcorn chicken sized) and 2 hamburger patties (the size of a silver dollar). Not to mention the burger was tough as heck. $55 for this was extremely disappointing read more

went there with my daughter ordered at counter,,kind of expensive. We sat down was brought out my dinner with no utensil and also missing my salad , so went to the counter to get fork and employee told me she would bring out fork with rest of meal? Sat down waitd as my food got cold and my daughters hadn't showed up. Salad finally came out with forks but my food was now cold. They took and reheated it ! I don't want reheated food when I paid almost $40. I also don't like they expected me to eat in front of my daughter when her food was nowhere in sight' and then watch her eat. The food was delicious! It was a pretty big size but didn't look as large as it does on all of the TikTok videos in person. The guy working the counter was friendly and helpful. He also gave some good suggestions on the side sauces to order. The hot sauce and the wasabi sauce were both winners. Just the right amount of heat! The burrito was filling and stuffed with ingredients. You can customize it however you want. The cooked the vegetables perfectly. Everything was decently seasoned. It is expensive for what you get. I would come back but there are also a lot of similar options for cheaper in Vegas. Recommended. read more

A few minutes ago, I received my order( doordash).I was very disappointed by the portion of the protein ( chicken) ,which came with a pound of white rice and barely any vegetables. The hot lava sauce that coats the grilled chicken ( unbeknownst to me) was substituted with 2 small containers of Sriracha sauce. According to the staff member who answered the, they decided to give me the Sriracha sauce because they had run out of the hot lava sauce. This is what I got for $19 . Not a very big location. You order at the counter and they call your name for to-go or drop off at table if eating in. Everything was clean and employees were friendly. The food was good but not amazing. My salmon was cooked well and was dry and so were some of the steak pieces. The noodles and veggies were good. The garlic butter is just butter, so def a skip for next time. It's a nice option but can get expensive for fast food. read more

This place is truly a hidden Las Vegas gem. It is a Japanese Protein House / New Fast and Casual Teppanyaki Concept. They serve a variety of Bento boxes , variety of different plates / combos, high quality of Hibachi steaks and seafood. We have got their Traditional plate and Create a plate option from the menu. The protein that we chose was steak, shrimp, grilled chicken , chicken Katsu and Japan fried chicken , and all were delicious and served amazingly well complimented with their flavorful sauces. The steak was very tender, the chicken Katsu was perfectly fried ( one of our favorite choices of protein) and the shrimps were THE BEST. All of the meat choices that we have tried were delicious, juicy and overall yummy . The rice and noodles were well seasoned and cooked right, not too dry at all, perfectly balanced flavors. They have a lot of flavorful sauces to choose from and we definitely recommend trying Fuji Yumma sauce. The portions were great and the food was very filling, we could not finish everything. Place was clean, nicely decorated in a Japanese theme, very comfortable chairs and they have outdoor seating available as well. It is not a big restaurant, but there is plenty tables and chairs available for seating . The service is excellent, very friendly, attentive, extremely welcoming . They will go above and beyond to make their customers feel happy and satisfied. Overall: we had an amazing experience and if we could rate more than 5 stars we definitely would! This is our new favorite Japanese place and we highly recommend it!!! read more

WOW what a great experience we had at volcano grille!! came to catch up with some friends and it was the perfect place to sit and chat. the vibe was very personal but also vibrant as well which was refreshing. the staff was amazing, they were so helpful and kind, they truly went above and beyond to make our experience great. they were also great at recommendations and modifications. got the land and sea mini plate and even though it was "mini" it was the perfect size, if you want a little more food making it a combo fills that fix. the food was very flavorful and the ginger sauce was the perfect touch. I got half noodles and half rice and it was good to try both, personally would get just the noddles again as they were a little more flavorful. highly recommend this spot if you like hibachi type food but don't want to do the traditional hibachi scene. read more

If I could give them a zero since when they first opened I would noodles were soggy the steak pieces were soooo big and they only gave me one teriyaki sauce when I asked for 2 the automated robot I ordered through was helpful till that point ... and it so sad that it's gone down the portions have gotten so small it's ridiculous when this place first opened it was generous for $30 I think not at all I won't be ordering here anymore read more

The food has historically been amazing. Recently, they have really fallen off in terms of quality and prep regarding their rice. The rice has huge chunks of garlic throughout. When I say HUGE, I mean HUGE. It throws off the whole meal when you bite into a huge piece of garlic. My advice to the chef, please mince the garlic OR use garlic powder. Take the extra time during prep because it ruins the food when you don't. read more

I went to eat there because I heard the food was good. The food was good, but they give you cold sauces to put on your grilled meats which makes it get cold. This is my reason for a bad review. I did not enjoy my experience there. When we ordered more sauce, they didn't bring it to us. We had to get up and go ask for it. I suggest the provide warm sauces. read more

The cashier was pretty nice but was a bit confusing when we were ordering. The sizes were a bit hard to understand. Nonetheless we got to order. We got a dish with shrimp and another dish with tofu and steak. The carbs were a big portion but the protein was small despite the price of the dishes. The tofu blocks were a bit funny. Really nice ambience and friendly service. We tried to call in an order but no one answered. Luckily, the restaurant's website is linked to Yelp and you can order online through Toast. The menu prices through Toast were the same as the in-store menu, as far as I can tell. The Toast estimate was 10-15min but it was actually 25-30 minutes. Thankfully we weren't in a rush and staff communicated to us that they were working on our order. My wife and i each ordered a two protein plate (teriyaki and Japanese fried chicken; shrimp and spicy tofu). The chicken was good but not amazing. Shrimp were grilled and were tasty and the tofu was good. Vegetables were a huge win, but the "spring roll" is your standard little egg roll with cabbage inside. At $45 for our two dinners I'm not likely to return. While nothing was wrong with the place, there wasn't anything so spectacular to justify the prices. read more

Customer service was great and my order came up super fast which later explained why the chicken was under cooked. I was not satisfied with my meal. Established in 2009.

Established in 2009 on Buffalo and Warmsprings. Moved in 2014 to Durango and 215.

Meet the Business Owner: Kenneth K.

Starting as a dishwasher and then pantry cook at a local Japanese restaurant, Ken would later become a teppanyaki chef at the Bellagio at 22. He later joined forces with Fitz, a childhood friend. After showing him the ropes of the culinary world, Fitz would prove to be a natural at cooking and a dedicated worker and potential business partner. Fitz later became a Teppanyaki Chef which encouraged Chef Ken to propose an idea that he had been playing with, an affordable, fast casual Teppanyaki restaurant that would be a very healthy alternative to most restaurants. Chef Ken and Chef Fitz opened their first Volcano Grille in a hidden corner at Buffalo and Warmsprings right when the economy crashed in the summer of 2008. In an abandoned strip mall, they persevered. Now they are happy in their new location on Durango and Warmsprings and they continue to improve Volcano Grille and create new concepts and ideas every day.

Volcano Girl is easily one of my favorite hidden gems in Las Vegas! If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out on some truly delicious food and a cozy dining experience that keeps you coming back for more. Let's start with the Korean Fried Chicken (KFC)--it's out of this world! The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and never dry. Their Fuji sauce takes it to another level. It's thick, tangy, and slightly sweet, cutting through any grease and creating the perfect balance of flavor. Every bite had me craving more! Volcano Girl is known for their wide variety of sauces, but you only get 1-2 per order, and they charge 50 cents for each additional sauce. This can make customers hesitant to branch out and try something new, out of fear of wasting money on a sauce they might not like. Personally, I've only tried four of their sauces, found two I love, and haven't wanted to try others because of this. Sure, adding one extra sauce to try each visit won't break the bank, but I feel like they could find a better solution. Offering a small sample of a new sauce with each order or bundling more sauces for a small flat fee could encourage customers to explore the variety they're known for. Despite this, Volcano Girl has become a go-to spot for me. You can taste the care and attention that goes into every dish, and the consistency keeps me coming back. It's a place where you want to linger and savor every bite, knowing you're getting high-quality, flavorful food. I'm genuinely excited to see how this restaurant grows and hope they're around for a long time. 5 stars - okay volcano grille might actually be my new go-to bro i don't even know where to start. i came in here not expecting much honestly -- like it's a hibachi spot, i've been to hibachi spots, i know the drill. but this place actually surprised me and i feel like i need to talk about it. got the combo plate with chicken, steak, AND shrimp because i was hungry and i have zero self control when the menu lets me mix proteins. first of all the chicken was actually juicy?? like genuinely tender, not the dry rubbery stuff you get at half these places that clearly been sitting on the grill too long. the steak had this perfect little char on the outside and was still soft in the middle -- whoever is running that flat top knows exactly what they're doing. and the shrimp. okay the shrimp were plump and seasoned well and had that nice little caramelized edge on them. all three proteins on one plate and none of them were disappointing. that's actually hard to pull off. the veggies were hitting too. zucchini, carrots, broccoli, all stir fried together and they weren't soggy or bland -- they actually had flavor and a little bit of that wok char going on. sometimes at places like this the veggies are just like... there. filler. but these felt intentional. and then the fried rice. LISTEN. the fried rice was so good it's kind of embarrassing. you could see the egg mixed all throughout, it was seasoned properly, slightly crispy in some spots, and there was just so much of it. like the portion size on this whole plate is genuinely generous, i was not expecting to be as full as i was. the vibe of the place is chill, nothing too crazy, just a solid spot where the food does all the talking. prices felt fair for what you're getting. i've spent more money at worse places too many times to count. if you're in the area and you want hibachi that actually delivers -- not just the show, but the actual food -- go to volcano grille. not an ad. just a real one. read more

To whom it may concern, This was my 1st visit, and most likely my last for the price I can go to Jjanga! I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent online order experience. I placed an order with your company and paid extra to ensure that I would receive the items I paid for. However, when my order arrived, I discovered that one of the items was missing. To make matters worse, when I contacted customer service to address the issue, I was told that my only options were to drive 45 minutes to your store to pick up the missing item or to add points to a rewards program in order to receive the item that I had already paid for. This is completely unacceptable. I live 45 minutes away from your store, and it is incredibly inconvenient for me to have to make a special trip to pick up the missing item. Additionally, I should not have to jump through hoops or spend more money in order to receive an item that I already paid for. I am extremely disappointed with the way this situation has been handled, and I expect a prompt resolution to this issue. I demand that the missing item be shipped to me immediately at no extra cost, and I also expect to be compensated for the inconvenience and frustration that this has caused me. I hope that you will take this complaint seriously and take the necessary steps to rectify this situation. I look forward to hearing back from you and receiving a swift resolution to this matter. Oh man, This place is AMAZING! It's definitely a hidden GEM! I have seen this place a few times when I was in the area, but I never stepped inside until now. Right when you step in your smacked in the face with an amazing aroma. It definitely grabs your attention immediately. The menu is straight to the point, and very easy to understand, the only problem is you don't know what to order, everything looks and sounds good. This is definitely a place you need to come back to try everything you want. I normally settle for the Salmon, but have found myself craving the filet mignon, definitely favorite cut. The Yakisoba noodles are always my go to side with Rice. I have a hard time choosing between the fried and white Rice (I love rice) I would recommend trying their Vegan Fried Rice (so much flavor). I also recommend saving room for the dessert, The chocolate Lava Cake is my favorite, I am not a big Matcha fan, but my husband couldn't stop Talking about their Matcha Lava Cake, IG your not a in a Cake kind of mood I definitely recommend grabbing some mochi ice cream, my favorite is alway the chocolate, vanilla, mango and strawberry. i also love that they have a sauce bar, I love thr Japanese salsa and hot magma- it definitely amplifies the food and takes it to another level. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this volcano grille. From the moment I walk through the door i'm always greeted with the best staff in vegas. I have never been anywhere els where the costumer service was as amazing as it here. They deserve an award!! The vibe, the food, everything is TOP TIER. Being such a regular costumer I was super excited to hear they were making another volcano grille near henderson and that's right where I live so it wouldn't be too far of a drive anymore but unfortunately I will be making the extra 30 minute drive. Absolutely Amazing! We were looking for a post mountain bike ride/birthday lunch for my wife and since we are in Vegas you can say that we hit the jackpot! Steak, chicken, shrimp, grilled rice, noodles, and strawberry miso salad were all 10/10. The sauces to accompany the proteins were also delicious. Since it was my wife's birthday, we had to do the lava cake. Again, absolute perfection. The icing in the cake (pun intended) was the service. I don't usually write reviews but for this business I had to. I usually order online but today I decided to stop by and order inside as I was in the area! The staff is so welcoming and so friendly, I haven't gotten that type of service anywhere in quite awhile so thank you for that. I ordered a double protein with steak and shrimp, I did get the grilled rice and vegetables to go with it and everything was POPPING with flavor. SOOO delicious. Tonight was my first time coming into volcano grille and to say the least, it's my new favorite place! I just have to give a huge shout out to the young lady named Cam who helped break down the menu from start to finish and found exactly what I was hungry for! I ended up ordering a Double protein bowl with Chicken katsu and Filet mignon. I had grilled rice and the spring rolls as well. The steak was so juicy it just melted in my mouth and don't even get me started with how yummy those sauces are. If you want to pay $20 plus for food that tastes mediocre and still be hungry, then this place is for you. Otherwise, I highly suggest you find another resturaunt to eat at. The pictures that look good on Yelp are not anything representative of what you'll get. If you take notice, those photos are from the business owner. Look at the other photos from people that really ate there and you'll realize it's not the same. The food is already expensive at this price, at least give a little more rice so we can feel full.
