I ended up just eating the coleslaw and have been having serious stomach cramping since, which is pretty much the only thing that's tarnishing my experience. We came here last week to see what the buzz was all about. A new Korean place in town specializing in different types of chicken dishes, mainly two ways of cooking: fried or oven. And meals came with a small plate of coleslaw and radish. The server greeted us promptly when we came in and I proceeded to ask about the difference between the crunchy and the crispy. Crunchy had the light breading while the crispy was coated with heavy batter. I ordered the crispy since both me and my son liked our food closest to its natural state, not covered with a whole bunch of sauce and breading. The half size consisted of about 7 assorted pieces of chicken for $11.99. We also had a side order of Kimchi fried rice for $5.99 and an order of plain steam rice for $1.99. Our order came out fast. Kimchi fried rice came first, then the fried chicken and the plain rice. The chicken was piping hot and it was moist and delicious. It tasted fresh as well. The Kimchi fried rice was bland in flavor with a hint of spiciness. I liked the sticky rice used. The plain rice was okay too. Service was spotty. The server left and one of the Korean owners was there. She sometimes refilled our drinks and sometimes not. My son had to go ask for extra things we needed like napkins and to go boxes. She wasn't very attentive to our needs. I'd give it a 2-3 stars for service. I was surprised with the quality of the chicken. This particular spot has been a bit rough when it coming to do business here. There was "I love ramen noodle (title?)", not sure what was before that, and now this chicken spot. Despite the server were friendly and nice, the food was average. We checked this place out since it was "hot & new" but we left being Luke warm. Coming here, I was expecting chicken wings like San Tung in San Francisco. We ordered the oven baked von special baked chicken, half order for $12.99. I'm not sure why it's a "special" sauce when it taste straight up like BBQ sauce and some other spices. We wasn't really a fan of it. The chicken was moist but the sauce wasn't a WOW factor. We ordered the Kim chee fried rice, which was pretty taste and mild which accommodate with the fried chicken pretty well. The SO liked the complementary radish side dish. The cole slaw was ok. The only negative thing was that it took over an hour for the food to be ready. Overrated. Bon Chon is twice as good. Paid an arm and a leg to try out soy garlic mild and spicy as well as butter and honey flavors. Wife had regular wings and drumsticks, I ordered boneless. Wife said hers were ok, mediocre. My boneless wings were all dark meat. Maybe it's my bad, but I have never heard of dark meat boneless wings. I ate as many as I could but I really dislike dark meat - beyond that, I found the flavors and breading just average - no better than wing stop or buffalo wild wings. Came back here to try new dishes after trying their chicken for the first time last week. I got two japchae, kimchi fried rice, and an order of the Ssam chicken to share with my partner. I placed an order on their website and accidentally forgot to schedule the pick up time so I contacted the restaurant; they happily reassured me that it was not a big deal. They knew I was coming in from an hour away so they told me they could keep the coleslaw separate from the sauce to prevent the coleslaw from getting soggy. Everything tasted delicious despite the ~1 hour drive back home! I feel so healthy eating all the food because the flavors complement each other well and the chicken was not greasy at all (I usually feel sick having greasy chicken at other places). My brother and I were headed to Wild Ox Burgers for lunch but happened to see this restaurant on the way there. Since I have eaten 99 Chicken in Santa Clara and Bon Chon Chicken in SSF, we decide to try Vons Chicken and skipped the burgers. We were pleasantly surprised, Vons sells fried chicken, oven baked chicken and side dishes. We decided to try one of each, the Mild Fried Chicken and the Soy Garlic Oven Baked Chicken. It was a good decision to try the restaurant. Here is my opinion, the mild fried chicken had a hint of sweetness with a very mild chili flavor, nice crunch and tender cooked chicken. The soy garlic chicken had s nice flavor too but really messy to eat. I preferred the fried chicken. They both came with Cole Slaw and a pink radish dish which I took home and my daughter liked. I liked the fried chicken the best. Overall, the service was good, a tad slow but good. It took awhile for the chicken which was okay by us since chicken right out of the fryer tastes much better than something that sat for a few minutes just so you can get your food more quickly. Vons is a bit more expensive than 99 cent or Bon Chon chicken both of which I consider the standard. I would rate Bon Chon, 99 Cent and then Vons but all with 4 star ratings. According to the app customer service, Vons cancelled and didn't bother updating anything so I had no way of knowing to move on without wasting an hour. We passed this place on multiple occasions going to the movies at Brendan Theatres. Then one day we happened to stop in. We were greeted and seated right away.
