Wings and drums in medium sauce Mmmmm full order
    Becky E.

Ok so I've been wanting to try Von's chicken and just finally made it happen. We were rolling thru the area and my fam and I decided to stop for a quick bite. I wasn't exactly sure what or how to order. I asked The man at the counter what he recommended and he pointed out the most popular. which was the special sauce chicken. We got a mix of drums and wings with the medium sauce. It exceeded my expectations. We were blown away by the crunch of the chicken skin and the flavorful sauce we dined inside the establishment and were the only ones they're doing so. But there were many patrons coming in to get takeout orders. It seems to be a popular spot. Cannot wait to try more items on their menu.

I went back again because the chicken is so hot, crunchy and made to order. I did notice the price change on the website has gone up a bit for the All day lunch. But since I called in my order, I asked was it still 11.95 and the guy said yes. I'm still a happy customer.

What a cute middle of the block place ! This place is nice inside , love love the signage ... the food is delicious , fresh and juicy ! The service was amazing ! Highly recommend a visit here. There's tons of parking considering there's a parking garage as well as open parking in front and across the street. This place is nice enough for groups or dine in alone.

This was my first time here and it was so good. Perfectly fried wings, juicy and flavorful. I heard about this business and tried to get to the Berkeley location but it had changed to a different business. The service was quick and they brought the food to our table on actual plates. The vibecwas chill there were a lot of to go orders than people dining in. I also enjoy that they have a free parking lot next door so that's a plus. I will definitely return soon to try other irems.

    Crunchy chicken

I'm very disappointed. They butterfly the drumstick to give the illusion that it's larger than it actually is. They don't advertise that it's a 'butterflied drumstick'. That also dried the chicken out while it fries. That's a very deceptive business practice. I won't be patronizing ANY of the Von's franchises. Fresh Tray across the street is much better! Worth the wait and money!

Vons Chicken in Concord does chicken right! My pic once again made the Yelp page lol, so you already know this spot is legit. Lunch prices? On point and reasonable. The chicken? So crispy it could probably survive a drop test lol, flavorful, juicy, and straight-up addicting. And don't even get me started on the fries whether you go for the honey butter or the sweet cheddar, both are hella good and borderline dangerous (you'll accidentally finish the whole order lol). The staff is friendly, the place is clean, and the vibes are solid. If you haven't been yet, stop playing and get yourself some of this crispy perfection. You won't be disappointed: )

We were visiting this area and wanted a quick bite before heading home. The KFC did not disappoint! The wings were fried to a wonderful crisp without the breading becoming too soggy. The sauce coated the wings nicely with just enough sweetness and heat. Staff were nice and friendly. Definitely recommend for a quick bite or takeout when you need a little KFC fix.

Left to right: Kimchi fried rice, spicy fried rice cakes, honey butter chicken, medium spicy crispy chicken, honey butter french fries.

Best Korean fried chicken in the bay area, hands down!!! Everything was fried to order, super flavorful, and ridiculously delicious. Our waiter was so nice, and told us his personal favorites were the crispy chicken and honey butter fries. They ended up being our favorites as well. The honey butter fries came out first, and they were sooo hot, crispy, and fluffy. The sauce was exceedingly delightful, and we were all excited to taste it on the chicken later too. The spicy fried rice cakes were nice and crispy yet chewy, and the kimchi fried rice was solid. Right as we tasted all the appetizers, the chicken came out hot and steaming. The medium spicy crispy chicken was... AMAZING! Totally crunchy on the outside, yet moist and juicy on the inside. The soy garlic glaze was super yummy and bold. The honey butter chicken was great too, absolutely loaded with that honey butter and parmesan. Some Korean fried chicken places go light on the sauces, but not this place! We also got fried oreos for dessert, and as you can see we demolished them before any pictures were taken. We didn't fully know what to expect, but it was like a light and fluffy donut with a melty oreo in the middle. Very unique, super yummy. We can't wait to go back!!!

My new favorite chicken spot in Concord! This is my new go to spot for all things chicken. I love the Oven Baked Chicken and their selection of sauces. I recently ordered the Oven Chicken Rice Bowl and it was a perfect lunch!

I met my friends Sarah and David for dinner here on 11/04/2025. We walked in at 5:30pm and were immediately greeted by the lone female server, who seated us at a table towards to back of the restaurant. The interior was very clean, and lighting was soft and warm. The giant restaurant logos on the walls were prominently displayed. Their menu featured a wide array of appetizers, soups, bibimbaps, cold and hot noodles, meat dishes, etc. We opted against their signature kalbijjim and instead got three entrée combos (L.A. galbi, spicy pork, and bulgogi). Each entrée came with our choice of tofu soup. Half a dozen banchans were brought to us before the arrival of the entrées. The buchu (chives) and baechu (Napa cabbage) kimchi were excellent. Our food took about 15 minutes to arrive. Portion wise, the tofu soups were of decent size, but the meat entrées were kind of stingy (they were served in small round skillets). I had the seafood tofu soup and it was very good. It was loaded clams, shrimp, and squid. We shared the entrées, and they all tasted great. The only gripe I had was a couple pieces of the galbi had very little meat on them. Service we received was great. Our server was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The total was somewhere around $130 (with a bottle of soju, a tangerine slushy, and a soda). Overall, we all thought the food was good. Return trip very likely. 4 stars. BONUS MATERIAL: - Ample parking on site. - Yelp waitlist deployed at this restaurant.

Over…read morethe years, though, so many K-bbq restaurants have opened up that unfortunately Gen kind of slipped off my radar. But this week, something came over me, and I decided to give it another shot. Lunch was about $22 per person as of June 2026. I remember going to the Concord location years ago and feeling like the portions were pretty small, even though you could order it as many times as you wanted. This time around though, our experience was completely different. Every order came out piled high like a mountain of meat. Everything was fresh, the marinades were on point. On top of that, our server was so friendly and attentive. Honestly, if I could give this place six or seven stars out of five, I would!!! Honey Soy Beef Belly: Absolutely amazing. The beef was sliced thin with the perfect ratio of meat to fat. The sweet and savory marinade complemented the richness of the beef belly oh so perfectly. I also loved the generous amount of green onions they sprinkled on top, which made this dish even more inviting. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. Beef Belly: This is basically the unseasoned version of the Honey Soy Beef Belly, so the quality of the meat was just as good. The nice thing is that you can customize each bite with the seasonings at the table, whether it's Green Tea Salt, Sesame Oil, or Sweet Soy Sauce. Simple but delicious. Bulgogi: Bulgogi has never been my favorite since I usually prefer savory over sweet, but this was still very good. The beef was tender, the marinade was flavorful, and everything was well balanced. That said, I'd still pick the Beef Belly dishes over this one. Chadol: This beef brisket used to be my go to order at Gen. Somewhere along the way, though, they switched to a leaner cut of meat. So now it wasn't quite as tender as I remembered. Still though, the meat was fresh and tasty. Honestly, it really comes down to your personal preference and whether you enjoy a leaner cut or a fattier cut. Pork Belly: Thick slices of unseasoned Pork Belly that you grill yourself and cut into smaller pieces then dip in Sesame Oil and Salt? Yes please! These were incredibly satisfying. Once cooked, the pork was even still tender and juicy. Easily my favorite pork option. Spicy Marinated Squid This dish had that classic Korean spicy sauce that balances sweet, savory, and spicy flavors super duper well. The squid stayed tender after grilling, it was amazing. I'd definitely order this again. Hotteok: A Korean style pancake filled with Brown Sugar and Peanuts. It's definitely a heavier dessert after a bbq meal than what I usually prefer, but it was still really good. The outside was pleasantly chewy (mochi like texture), while the filling was warm, sweet, and gooey. Kimchi Fried Rice: Don't sleep on this one because their Kimchi Fried Rice was fantastic. It had the perfect balance of tang and savory flavors, and it paired well with all the bbq meats. Super yummy.

I also requested an additional side dish, but it never arrived. Even my drinks were served late. While the prices are reasonable, the quality of service needs significant improvement. The music was way too loud, almost like a night club - where you have to practically raise your voice to talk. It's great for guys, where their voice projects, but it's more difficult for anyone that has a bit higher. There are no tongs (but they will give you extra chopsticks). Also, the individual induction units are right on the table, instead of inset. This causes the potential of hot soup base spilling as a more likely experience for clumsy people. For the thing I love about this place? First... value for money. $29.99 per person for all-you-can-eat hotpot? This is amazing in this age where an entree is like $25-30. Appetizers are ordered 2 at a time, and meats are 6 at a time. Meats only come one on a thin tray, which holds about 4-6 slices. So you'll be ordering other helpings, since there are I believe 5 beef selections, and a pork and chicken selection (7) total. The middle of the restaurant is a large bar where you get everything that isn't a meat. The selection of vegetables, and noodles are pretty vast, and almost always refilled. The seafood area has shrimp, clams, tilapia, and mussels. Sauces area also on the sides which makes it pretty much an on-going motion. It's not the high-end of hot pot by any means, but the ambience that they're projecting works for the area that it's in and how they compete with the rest of the restaurants in the area. But for the money? I'd go here. We did sit in a side-middle area where it wasn't a booth. However, they made sure to separate out the seating so that if you were a group of 3, they situated in opposite ends to create space. That attentiveness of spacing actually created a better atmosphere which was a small thing, but a smart thing. Love that they actually celebrate birthdays with banging of pots, and wishing well. It's something that is fun for groups and definitely nice if you happen to be celebrating a birthday! Definitely will come back.
