Mrs. Pho, recently renamed Mrs. Ramen, offers mediocre fast food at the Veranda shopping mall in Concord. Stopped by with my teen this afternoon - she ordered the teriyaki chicken Karaage rice plate, I the pork tonkatsu rice plate. The food cost a little over $30 before tip. It took a while and was meh. Not much sauce on her chicken, and too much rice. Mine was appropriately proportioned - it had one scoop of rice and two cutlets and a container of sauce. Salad and macaroni in both. She didn't find the food authentic or flavorful and reluctantly picked at it; I ate about half of mine and tried some of her karaage. Rest went home. Won't be coming back. read more

I almost always order the tonkatsu ramen here, usually for delivery. I'm mentioning that because my rating would probably be higher if not for some poor service experiences when I've gone in person. If you read through the lower reviews, most of the complaints are about service. That said, it's still a pretty delicious local delivery option if you want to try it without dealing with the chaos of the Veranda or the sometimes cold in-person experience. read more

Stopped by Mrs. Pho and ordered two Korean corn dogs, and both tasted great. Crispy outside, cheesy inside, and freshly made -- exactly what you want from a corn dog. Formerly Silver Lake Ramen at the Veranda service was quick, cashier was very nice. Loved the seats were under the heat lamps as it was freezing that night. Ordered the rice plate with pork belly and spicy chicken. The rice was very overcooked and quite mushy. Which made the fattiness of the pork belly a really bad bite. The dressing on the green salad was really good. The Mac salad was lacking flavor. The Gyoza had a porky flavor that wasn't appealing at all. read more

If you're into food on a stick, Mrs. Pho is the place to be. We tried their sausage on a stick and cheese on a stick, and let me tell you, they were screaming good. The cheese on a stick covered in Flamin' Hot Cheetos was a huge hit with my daughter. She couldn't get enough of it. These kinds of snacks are exactly what we love, and Mrs. Pho absolutely delivered. It's a fun twist on street food, and it hit all the right notes for us. We'll definitely be back for more. Highly recommend if you're a fan of creative bites on a stick. Mrs. Pho is a great little shop they you may not notice at first. Mrs Pho is located in the Veranda shopping center with only outside seating. The location is specifically next to pop bar and the children play structure. It's a great stop for a quick meal or snack while the kids play. The cashier was friendly and efficient. Whole I didn't have any questions, she did help the family before me with some small questions about the options and what they're made out of. My spouse and I ordered the King Pho and the House Pho. Both were excellent and had a nice flavor profile. The star anise was present and added the right amount of balance. The meat from both were very tender and tasty. They were out of basil which was unfortunate but reasonable on an extremely busy day. The only downside was that seating is limited and we had to sit next to the cotton candy machine which was less than enjoyable with an almost constant line of kids/teens/families who would gather on both sides of the table and ask to use our table to hold their stuff while they get cotton candy or record videos of it. read more

It comes with a veggie broth, tofu, & tons of veggies: broccoli, cabbage, carrot, green onion, white onion, jalapeño, lime, bean sprouts, bell pepper, & cilantro. Went here by accident. My daughter was at Dave n busters and I was like not staying here! Walked over to see a few businesses and decided this was it. First time trying this small pho spot at Veranda. I got the Spicy pho and it's actually not bad at all. I enjoyed it and it was satisfying to me. The chili was pretty spicy that they put in. The service was ok, the lady that took our order didn't seem like she was happy to be there so that minus a star. I'd like to try other food next time to see if my review will increase. First of all, parking in the Veranda is always terrible on the weekend because there are so many people. If you can walk, park farther out or good luck trying to find something close by. This restaurant replaced the ramen place that used to be here and I may like this pho place better. I really wanted to try the king pho because I was curious about the big beef rib, but I got the spicy pho instead since it had more meat and I love spicy. Well, I guess my spice tolerance has gotten lower because on top of the broth being literally hot, the spice was pretty up there. My boyfriend also got the spicy pho and he was sweating LOL unfortunately, it was hard for me to actually taste the flavor of the broth because the spice was overpowering. I liked that there was shrimp, fish balls, meatballs, and brisket, but I thought it was all was a bit overcooked. The other thing with this place is you're not gonna get all of the side sauces that you would normally get at any other pho place. They just give you the hoisin sauce and I believe it's sriracha in tiny containers (not sure if it was sriracha but that's what it looked like). My boyfriend's aunt got the spring rolls, which we tasted and I thought was ok. The peanut sauce was a little watery. His dad got the chicken rice bowl, which we thought was actually pretty good. I liked the chicken because it had light breading but enough to be crispy on the outside. The sauce they put on the bowl was good too. Their portion sizing is pretty big so I'd say it's worth it for the price. I'd like to come back to try the classic or king pho. lol read more

Great place to go when charging up the Tesla. Quick and friendly service, satisfying pho. I got the classic pho, choice #1 on the menu, and will try the others. Served in plastic bowls for fast turnaround. I like that it is all open air seating. Menu has limited choices compared to other Vietnamese restaurants, but makes sense with the setting in a busy mall. The competition is fierce at the Veranda. So many good restaurants in a packed open mall. Mrs. Pho adds to the variety. It can get cold in the winter so will see how the heaters work. Silverlake ramen before them figured out how to keep the outdoor area warm. read more

The thing is this place is competing with pho chains like Kevin noodles house, impressions of langzhou, and pho hoa lee phat. They also offer bigger bowls. Soo one thing maybe going for is the spicy broth. Rarely seen this on usual Vietnamese menus, but I have yet to try it for myself. Overall, fast and good foods. Currently settling for ice cream because this place decided to close a whole hour early from the times posted. As a manager it's expected that you respond to customers when they ask a question not ignore them and act better while counting your tips. Hygiene: Not very clean the chairs and the overall location is filled with flies and old food. Customer service: 0/5. Won't respond to customers and act stingy with the sauces and napkins. We ordered a spicy chicken karaage but we wanted the sauce on the side so we could just dip it. For some reason the Filipino lady cooking it had something in her asshole and started insulting us in Tagalog (thinking we didn't understand) calling us stupid and many other things just for getting the sauce on the side. We come here often and have ordered the same thing before but this has not happened before. We then asked for a refund but they declined. Solid 3 stars for the mozzarella corn dogs I didn't know what to expect since I never had them before but I did have my 12 year old daughter's expertise with me so I was good lol. She gave it a 3.5 It was light and not oily. So there's a plus The mozzarella was mozzarella'ing soft and stretchy as we bit into the corn dogs, the dough was a bit on the doughy side and bland.. with a hint of sweet. It wasn't bad but it wasn't like " omg I must have this again!" Either .. I'm sure the other flavors would be good , I think they had takis and hot Cheetos coated ones they had had a sausage option instead of mozzarella or half sausage and half mozzarella. So there's plenty of options. Ok so now the service ... It was slow but the place was made to order so that's fine and it was pretty busy with kids enjoying their winter break and ice skating. So now.. the issue When I purchased my food I asked the cashier if they also have fries.. she kindly said yes .. so I said I'll take a order of fries too As I was waiting for my order I looked at my receipt and realized I was charged 11.99 for chicken tenders AND fries ..and on the receipt it said " no chicken tenders " Okay yes I asked for fries but I wasn't aware I was going to be charged for chicken tenders with no tenders .. had that been explained to me I wouldn't have bothered.. it just doesn't make sense . When I went back to the cashier I explained I wouldn't have gotten fries had I known I was going to be charged for tenders and fries .. I asked for a refund and although she gave me one she had to speak with the manager who had a bit of an attitude, and spoke in Tagalog basically complaining and stating that I ordered fries.. I did understand their language as I'm Filipino so I explained .. I specifically asked the cashier for fries it was NOT explained that I was to be charged for a full meal. I witnessed this person refuse to take an order because she did not want to give change for a $50.00 bill. The clerk out right lied stating she didn't have change when I had just completed a transaction with her and it was more than enough to make change for $50.00 and her cash drawer had more than enough. The customer had her 3 daughters and one of the daughters also saw the cash drawer confirming she had more than enough. First of all, the clerk was not friendly, welcoming at all, and after seeing the way she treated this customer I will not be going back. The food was okay, but not the best in flavor, but will do in a pinch if you don't care about customer service. Too bad. It could be a very nice place. Had the fried rice, spring rolls and the pho. Pho was decent, no frills, small portion, relatively expensive for what it was. I'd get it again if I was in the area and in a pinch Spring rolls were also decent, no frills. I'd also get it again for a quick snack. Fried rice was very wet/mushy and lacking in flavor. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! The chicken rice bowl!!!!! When I first had it, I was skeptical to try a new place, but oh lord! I was in for a treat! The flavors MELTED in my mouth, the spice was IMPECCABLE! The rice, the flavor, the fries, are enough to keep you there for days! The service is pretty good, nothing special but they are very sweet! The setting is pretty ok, when you're with your friends it doesn't matter though! The veranda is a beautiful place with beautiful shops so it's quite perfect! 10/10 place please eat that chicken rice bowl! read more

I'd definitely not recommend this place. The owner and what seems like the girl friend are completely rude. I purchased a pho there and the lady scolds me asking me to throw away the dish not even a thank you. In any other restaurant you are not asked to throw away your trash. I guess they aren't from the US and aren't used to customs here. Hopefully this review serves them and others well. They definitely need to be in another area not the Veranda. read more
