I was very pleased by the Bakery Department. I needed a cake for a Minnie Mouse Baby Shower, and the bakery staff was so helpful. The moment I walked up to the cake display I was greeted so nicely and they were very welcoming. The staff was so professional, they made the ordering of the cake very easy and took me step by step through how I wanted every detail on/in the cake like colors, flavors, filling...etc. When I arrived to pick the cake up, the bakery employee asked me if I was able to find a Minnie Mouse cake topper, because I had mentioned before I was unsuccessful in finding one. They not only made a beautiful cake but they went through their cake inventory and found the perfect prettiest Minnie Mouse to place on top. I was beyond thankful and appreciative of their caring and attention to detail. I will definitely be going back and ordering more cakes through Vons for any future parties. Thank you! read more

Had a horrible experience today after spending over a hundred dollars worth of groceries. The cashier who's name is Gigi was the rudest cashier I ever went to. She completely ignored my husband and I and kept talking to the box girl about personel stuff. She never looked at us at all and didn't even greet us as we came through the line. I felt very uncomfortable after leaving the check stand so I reported her to the manager who didn't look like he really wanted to be bothered. read more

This is a nice little Vons. Sometimes I come by to purchase beer that they don't have at my local grocery stores. Sometimes I just come by in the mornings before work cause they have pretty good salads that are packed to go. The bakery has some good stuff as well, although their chocolate chip cookies are a bit on the salty side for me. They don't always have low prices, and I actually bought some of their stuff at full price only cause I didn't have a Vons card. Oh well! read more

The dog harness was too small I tried returning it at the Vons Eagle rock the management told me if it cost more than $10 i have to take it back to the store where I bought it . I asked why if I have a receipt. She rudely replied That her stores is not getting the credit for the purchase. She acts like she owns the store she just a manager profiling customers. This is not a good Vons. The cashier overcharged me for my heirloom tomatoes and when I came back with the actual tag from the counter, he blew me off. Then, his colleague blew me off. They sent me away to the customer service desk, mainly because they were lazy. Also, I actually weighed this tomato and when I got to the counter, not only was I overcharged for it but, also, the produce came in at twice the weight of the scale in the produce section. This is negligible. But the cashiers need to learn some basic customer service. I guess there's a reason why I shop at Whole Foods. read more

One of the reasons why I come here is because it is a clean neat environment for a grocery store. the meat department is quite helpful people say hello when they walk by you so I have no complaints with all that. but then when you get to the checkout line I feel it's a different situation. maybe they just had a big hiring I don't know but it seems like the younger people whether they are cashiering or the person helping bag the groceries have no concept whatsoever as to how to bag groceries they put three or four items in a bag and they honestly are just throwing it in there there's no rhyme or reason there's no organization there's too many bags being used so there's wastage and they don't seem to care. Isn't there a bagging groceries tutorial? I found liquid bottles and drink vessels all lying in their side, heavy items single bagged the eggs were at the bottom of the bag. It's just sad. read more

I went to this Vons to order my wedding bouquet. I was helped by Genesis (I believe I spelled her name correctly) She went up and beyond I ever expected her too. She made my ideas come to life. And would update me when she was done with each part of the arrangement. I went to plenty of other flower shops and was not greeted with the friendliness I experienced at Vons. I will definitely be coming back to Vons for her help in any future flower arrangements. She is definitely management material. I could not stress that enough. read more

Ive been to this vons a handful of times. Vons in general is quite ridiculous in their customer service, and this one holds serve to that: Their checkers continually call no waiting in their registers, which makes it seem like they want me to get the heck out of there. The employees repeatedly bug me as I walk down the aisles, sometimes it's the same person twice. I could continue the list, but it would take FOREVER. As for the good: The management isn't too bad, as it has been atrocious in the past. Cezar is one of the bagboys there. He isn't completely there, but he is always fun to talk to. The bakery has the best little treats, and the deli makes amazing sandwiches from time to time. Ask for Leticia to make it for you, they are great! Rajeev is the super cute checker that always seems to joke around on the job. He always seems to make me laugh and feel good. Plus, he is a GORGEOUS sight to look at in a store that isn't always clean. All in all, Vons is a weird place to shop, but this one is bearable. read more

The people in this store are great except for one jerk assistant manager. I don't know his name. Tall, light hair. Recently he was ringing my produce and the price on one item came wrong from what was written in the produce section. Mind you, we're talking cents, not a big deal. But when I pointed the discrepancy to him he did not acknowledge me one way or another and just continued scanning the items. I heard from other people that this guy is a piece of work and has anger issues. I am not saying you should avoid this store, just make them aware and help this man. The Vons Pharmacy is AMAZING. Claudia, the pharmacy technician is seriously the kindest, most empathetic and dedicated pharmacy tech that I have ever encountered! She has gone above and beyond the normal expectation when it comes to customer service. On two occasions, Claudia went and picked up the medication that my infant son needed from another location since they did not have it in stock. The pharmacists, Karen and John are also great! They're super helpful, patient and thorough. Karen always greets me and my son by name when we roll up. I could not be happier with this pharmacy and would not think of going anywhere else from here on out. read more

Please do not patronize this store for a while. They have cut down all their mature trees that used to shade and beautify the area. They did it to add a few more parking spaces during construction. Those trees were likely over 50 years old and it will be impossible to replace them. I feel for the workers whom I like but we cannot keep paving over the city. This shows a lack of respect for the residents and shoppers. I doubt this would have happened in Pacific Palisades. One star because you can't have no stars. read more

This is my neighborhood market, I literally go there every day. If you love kombucha like I do, this place has it cheaper than most places. Also, the deli has pretty good items. I love their blue cheese potato salad, and the potato wedges have to be the best deal in the city. My only negatives are at the meat counter. I've waited up to 7 minutes for someone to come out and help me. Nonetheless, all of the wings they have on deck are delicious especially the Korean bulgogi ones. read more

I used to shop at Ralph's but I moved to this area and the Ralph's in Glendale is horrible. The Fresh And Easy closest to me is even worse. So I drive a little longer and go here. The staff is always friendly. The bakery department is very good with a nice selection of breads. The produce department is fairly well stocked. I wish they had more pre-cut veggies. It's a Vons, it's really the only grocery store in the area, so I"ll go back, but for all it's cleanliness and nice staff, the Vons deli's really suck compared to Ralphs, and for whatever reason, everytime I'm here, the lines are loooong and slow. read more

Staff has excellent manners and knowledge of what they stock. There's a pretty good selection of goods, the store is clean. My only wish is for a bicycle rack and more asian foods. They conveniently have a bank, dry cleaning, and coffee bar inside. read more

Overall convenient location and fair prices. Would have given this place 5 stars if it wasn't for their sh*t cashier service and crack head infestation throughout the plaza. I dont want to give the crack heads a dollar, tired of them asking. I just want to get my groceries and go. The cashiers are another story, they have sh*t attitudes. I don't understand how they got hired to begin with. Their positions should be for genuinely friendly people, not permanent stink faced bad attitude women! Not sure why this place is even open at 5:00am. No one is ever at the cashier area before 6:30am even though there are at least 5 people walking or sitting drinking coffee near the cashier area. If you see a customer standing in line, call someone who is on duty to help your customer out! I frequent this location a lot only because it's very close to my work but it's always an unpleasant experience for me every time. If you aren't prepared to assist customers that early, then maybe Vons should consider opening later. read more

For the most part, the store is clean and the selection is decent, but the prices are not the greatest. You have to use your Vons card for deals and you should also have signed up for Vons Just 4 You deals. Usually you have to buy too many things to get the really good deals. Lots of times what I'm looking for is not on special and I wait until the next time when it is, then everything's gone. The worse part of shopping here is the packers. They are all terrible. What ever happened to the training for these kids? It's the managers fault. They are also terrible and uncaring about most everything. I guess it's the type of people that are hired. It's just not like it used to be a couple of decades ago. Before we are even checked out, we have to wait in a long line because there's only one check open besides the two express lines. It's very aggravating. Also, every time I shop and my daughter and grandson come with me so the bill is really a lot, there are mistakes on the receipt. There's no catching them at the time of check out with two carts of groceries going thru because we're trying to keep the bagger from smashing everying with heavy stuff on top of light or putting cleaning supplies with food. So we have to try and resolve the next time we go in. Many times we just don't do anything because it's more trouble than it's worth. After the last time we shopped on Sunday and the check out lady was extra grumpy, we have decided to quit shopping there for good. My daughter has an Albertson's where she lives and I will drive over to the one in Alhambra where I used to work near by and just shop there. It's really worth the time and effort. I shop here cause I live real close. While its your basic grocery store I do find an unusual amount of expired items on the shelves. Have to check anything with a date on it. They do make good sandwiches and the employees are mostly friendly. I do wish they would keep the local hobos from hanging out in front so much. read more

I feel and am very disappointed and can't believe I have had to use my TIME to write this bad review, it's overwhelming and draining as I my self know it's hard to satisfy customers. I will explain my story and HOPE the ("Manager") of this damn branch gets his team together. Because now not only do I not want to got to that branch makes me not want to step foot in this particular VONS store. (1) With in the Month of September 2012 they had a power outage, and once powered came back had a line wait for an hour. Totally UNDERSTANDABLE. (2) Once at the front girl behind counter comments on how KEY pad doesn't work and she would have to take my card instead of me swiping and entering my own pin. And I would be asked few questions for security purposes which is fine. (3) The questions asked were, my last 5 digits of social security = okay When it came to asking me my second question she asked me how much did I have in my savings account. = not okay. . . ! ! ! Did she want me to blurrrrr out infront of the damn public. NOT so cool, i was very upset and she seemed like she just didn't care. Maybe cause she is very young and still not very well TRAINED. Wells Fargo please HELP. . . The third question goes as followed, she asked me how many accounts did I have I replied with 4 accounts, then she replied in a SMART way "NO How Many Checking ACCOUNTS" = RUDE = Disrespectful Not cool All I was trying to do is deposit not be tested and try to be PLAYED in such a rude way. I was very Upset and disapointed in the bank for having a TELLER with such attitude :( I handle many costumers in my firm and all get very well responses with no attitude. BUSINESS 1st I disregard the incident and such thing happened which I shouldn't have. ----------------------- I return to Wells Fargo the following week for another deposit as its in my NEIGHBORHOOD. Same you female teller assists me, Simple questions simple response she asked me what I needed I replied with me wanting to make a deposit. gave her the amount and she said if I needed anything else and I replied with a simple NO. She asked if I wanted a receipt and I said NO. At the end of the damn transaction she printed me a DAMN receipt with my balane which I didn't ask for. = Rude She didn't pay attention or she just playing with her time. = not cool and very annoying. Really disgusted with this Vons. Not my usual market but I thought I'd go there for variety. There must be very little in the way of management and/or team meetings to discuss professional conduct. I walked in and the female worker at the Starbuck's was complaining loudly with a Vons employee about something that had happened to her. At the back of the store there is a butcher area and I could hear the butcher (with the spacers in his ears) cursing while he's talking with another butcher (f**k word, sh*t, etc). The Coca Cola guy who is restocking the store with his products was having a conversation on his phone every time I saw him (ear piece in his ear and talking loudly) beside dropping cases loudly on the floor. Such an unpleasant experience.... I'll never go back there. It is completely ghetto. read more

Having worked at VONS for a whopping 2 weeks or so, I learned the rules we had to abide by as employees. A couple of these rules consisted of: 1. there should only be THREE people in line at the checkstand, before another employee has to pen a new checkstand. 2. We were told to greet every single customer following 3 steps. The first, is the greeting. You have to say hello, or hi to the customer. Then you follow it by sayign "may i help you" and lastly you have to end it by saying "bye" or "have a nice day". With that being said, all my co-workers and bosses made sure i followed that rule every single time from the moment i got there because they did not want a Mystery Shopper to come in, and mark them down. Then the store would recieve a bad grade. I quit because sometimes when i greeted a male they thought i was flirting and it made me uncomofrtable that i HAD to say hello to every single person no matter what gestures or creepiness came with the customer. Anyways VONS is pretty much the only asic grocery market in Eagle Rock so I tend to go there pretty often and i NEVER EVER EVER get greeted by any employee. Even the same people who used to yell at me trying to enforce the rule, don't greet me. Also the cashiers suck there is always at least 7 people in each line at all times, during every day of the week. I have only seen 1 emplyee who I would say was genuinely friendly every single time I've gone in, a young kid. Everyone else seems like they have been there for way too long and are taking it out on the customers. I just sent in a complaint about one of the employees who was very rude and unproffessional when VONS forgot to pack my OREOS one day. I came back to say a mistake was made, and she told me NO and argued with me. I eventually left and said nevermind. A pack of OREOS was not worth the harassment. I now try to avoid VONS at all costs, at this rate hopefully it will close down and a new and better market will be there instead. Or a whole new staff. On a brighter note: If you don't mind being ignored by some employees or being harassed by others, they DO carry most of their items whenever I need them. Probably due to their decrease i customers? it's the closest vons to me and i am more of a trader joes kind of guy but i am no way hating vons because they have some stuff here that i like, a really big selection and i buy most of my supplies here when i bbq. the meat of course comes from a different location, a secret place. i wont be telling you which carneceria that provides the greatest meats. vons actually has a great bakery, you have to come early to get some of the warm and toasty breads or try out some of the food that they have as well. they have what you need and if they dont just head up colorado bld and trader joes might have it but vons is what it is, a large supermarket with a wide selection read more

This is by far the best Vons around ! Fast check out even during peak. Plenty of employees available to help! Most of the night crew is very nice and helpful they seem to enjoy what they do. The afternoon/night checker Eric by far outshines everyone else. It's always a pleasure to see him on the check out lane as its like going to a comedy club. He has fresh jokes and normally can lighten the mood when there is a longer then normal line. Make sure you ask him for recipe suggestions as he seems to be well traveled in the would of culinary arts/wine pairings. Another thing I love about this store is the Parking lot seems to be free of shopping carts so kudos to the folks who gather those up as its one less thing to dent my car. The dry cleaning service is very convenient and has a great turn around time and the best part is no special trip for dry cleaning !
