I've been shopping at this store for years, but over time I've become disappointed for a few reasons. First, the overall atmosphere just doesn't feel welcoming anymore. In my opinion, many of the cashiers, such as Nelie and Adriana, I believe their names are, and the manager, Cesar, seem angry, unhappy, and like they can't wait for their shift to end. At times, they also come across as dismissive, disrespectful, and demeaning toward customers. Of course, that's just my impression, but it doesn't create a friendly shopping experience. Another thing that really bothered me was hearing a cashier named Nelie make a disapproving remark in a disapproving tone about another customer while people were standing in line. I found that unprofessional. This store depends on its customers, and no customer should overhear employees make a disapproving or judgmental-sounding comment about other customers. Nobody is perfect, and customers deserve to be treated with respect. The second issue is the member pricing. More than once, I've entered my phone number, the shelf clearly showed a lower member price, but I was still charged the regular price, , as another reviewer mentioned. That's frustrating and shouldn't happen. Because of these experiences, I've decided to switch to Trader Joe's and Stater Bros. Since I started shopping there, I've also noticed that the prices are actually lower, which has been another pleasant surprise. For all of these reasons, I've decided to shop elsewhere. At Trader Joe's, the employees are consistently friendly, greet customers with a smile, and make you feel welcome. This is only my personal opinion, and I mean it as constructive feedback, not criticism. I hope management will consider making a few improvements: create a friendlier atmosphere, put customers first, make sure the advertised member prices are honored at checkout, and remember that good customer service is what keeps people coming back. I'd like to see this store succeed and keep its longtime customers. As someone who used to spend a lot of money at this store every week, I'm now taking my business elsewhere. I only would not recommend this place only for the cakes.. I ordered a birthday cake. Cake was dry and the fresh strawberries were cut so small and hardly any in the cake. Clean store, plentiful selection and nice folks. This however is a review for Aurelio from the butcher department, who is the class of this location. My wife needed assistance for a bone in prime rib. Nothing in the display, but Aurelio came through with key questions on how many folks we'll be serving, and then specialty cut a prime rib for her. This was an throwback to an earlier day, when we had independent butcher shops who would tailer every individual order to the customer. Since this place has done the remodel and the rite aid has closed down, going to the pharmacy here is a nightmare. The half hour lunch that they take instead of taking turns for lunch is insane. I just came from urgent care and need my medication and I have no other way to get here after having to come back after lunch. Go to a different pharmacy, anywhere but here. When you tell them you need your medication from urgent care they just say too bad so sad, I'm going on break. *edit* I came back to pick up my medication and from that point ask to change pharmacies. Rotten meat again horrible checker this is the 3rd time in the past 2 months i purchased rotten meat here. This time i decided to take it back. I walked in spoke to manager explained what happened showed him my receipt dated 10/15/25 today is 10/16/25 had the smelly meat he asked me to take it through the check stand and they would refund the purchase. -im a little agitated due to having already got sides started and now have to stop by a Resturant to feed my family. I pick up a case of water and a few other items and got ready for checkout. The checker looks at me and says she cannot take it back without receipt - which i left with manager. In the 32 years i have shopped there i have never brought anything back so i have no ideal of protocol. As we are waiting for the manager the checker tells the bagger check the date "they do this all the time" making me to be the bad guy. I was embarrassed waiting for the manager and holding up the line. - called the 877 number they were not helpful at all guess they dont give a care about a veteran customer. Someone please explain why there are so many issues with this pharmacy. We literally have had four issues and every time it's a problem. First, I was told my RX would be ready in 30-minutes. I walked around and waited. Then they said three hours. I went home and came back. Then they couldn't find it anywhere and tried to say I had already picked it up. RIDICULOUS! Second, my son needed his eye drops right after surgery, the pharmacist said, pick it up at 8PM. When he showed up they told him to come back the next day. Not to mention, the attitude is horrible. They are so miserable working there. I DISLIKE THIS VONS SO MUCH!!! My husbands high blood pressure medication was expired. WTH!!! The lady in front of us specifically told them she was going on a trip the next day and had ordered her RX two days prior, she was livid and I don't blame her. Please go to CVS, not here. read more

I enjoy going into this Vons as it is super clean with a good layout. Their floral section has gorgeous flowers that last a long time. They do lack a bit in caring organic produce and meats and their prices are pretty fair. My Rite Aid account got transferred here as we all know, Rite Aide went out of business. My first visit to the pharmacy yesterday was a pleasant experience. I was quickly greeted and I had my prescription within 3 minutes. Definitely will keep shopping here. read more

This is for the great Vons pharmacy staff. My husband is on a specific medication for life. It has always been approximately $35.00. Last time I went to pick it up, it rang up for $248.00!! Huh??? Apparently, our insurance company decided to stick it to us. Misty and Farah (and another female employee walking by) worked for nearly 30 minutes and were able to reduce our cost to $107.00 through Good Rx. They went above and beyond to help me. I stop in here when I need something that my other grocery store doesn't have in stock. I also like their produce department as everything is always fresh. I do recommend getting their app as they have digital coupons that'll save you a few cents to a couple dollars on some items. Cause let's be honest vons is a little boujee as everything seems to be over priced here, unless it's on sale! I will say though every employee I have encountered has always been helpful and friendly to me. It's pretty sad to know that this place is hiring people who find it appropriate to tell you they don't need to watch how they speak to you and that they're basically a gangster and you should watch who you're talking to. All in front of your daughter as a paying customer because you were confused as to why it didn't take your card when you had already put your pin in. It was so inappropriate that the customer behind me stopped me in the parking lot to let me know that that was ridiculous and that he completely agreed with me. The floral department just in its self is always has prettiest flowers and arrangements in all of Santa Clarita. They really know what they are doing. I have lived in Canyon Country for 20 years now and always go to this Vons for flowers. I have never needed to order speciality flowers because the arrangements they have ready to go are stunning. This is for the bakery Dept. I was in a pinch & Steven really guided me through it. The outcome was a perfect cake in 24 hrs for a party. The design came out perfect! And the flavors? I have been shopping at this funds for 35 years since I first moved to the Santa Clarita Valley I have never had such poor customer service ever it is 2:00 in the afternoon there is only two cash registers open and the self-help neither of the two registers that were open or for the 15 items are less there were 10 people in line behind me all of whom had less than 15 items... I asked to speak to the manager Tim was called twice before he managed to make it to the check stand and then he just said we've had a lot of people calling out sick. That is no reason not to open up a 15 items or less Lane and close one of the other lanes plus I saw three other people in Vons uniforms wandering around the store. read more

Beware of their clipped coupons . You go , you buy, you pay and then you find out you were overcharged even though you clipped the coupon. Seriously when I was checking out I asked the manager how could I tell if I got the discounts. She said it will show on your receipt only the discount shows and then later you realize it's not the coupon you clipped but a regular discount. I can't keep up with all the coupons, clipping , checking, then double checking to find out I paid $6 more than expected. I'm sick and tired of being tricked by deception, bait and switching, and zero support when I called. The employees really pull this place down. It's hit or miss whether you'll get an employee in clean clothing who acts like they work in customer service or someone with unfortunate hygiene and a horrible attitude problem. It's frustrating because everything here is super overpriced and we know we're not there for the experience- it's a convenience location only, yet rarely is it convenient. The meat, seafood and bakery are a little more pleasant while the deli is a nightmare 90% of the time. They are always unhappy to see you, and god forbid you ask a question- the whole thing comes to a grinding halt and you feel afraid to accept the food at all. Often the overpriced hot items are dried out and hard and slopped angrily at you. The pharmacy and Quest location are super convenient with friendly staff, but they are not Vons employees so this makes sense. Between the none service animals, homeless, sick kids riding in food grocery carts and management not caring or too stupid to know common sense to stop it. THIS PLACE IS A TOTAL DUMP! I get directed to call a silly 1 800 number if I want to complain about the service deli employees petting animals and then working with food. Management on site is too weak to handle a common sense problem. Apparently after Covid all kids, sick or well are invited to ride in a food cart. Some kids are told to take their shoes off when they get home but somehow are allowed to wear them among a space that others put perishables. Food we put in our mouths. I have been visiting this store for nearly 15 years and love the management team and most of the staff. I felt compelled to write regarding my second awful experience with the worker who oversees the self checkout lines. I just returned from purchasing a few items a made a huge mistake of simply asking her for assistance on an item that was on sale. She informed me in a rude and condescending fashion that before I ask for her assistance I need to finalize my order. The kicker is that she did this to me once before. I had a simple question and she took a "school teacher" tone in explaining why my item did not scan". After the incident today, she then remarked to a co-worker in a sarcastic way saying "hey I have 7 registers to monitor". Apparently the other worker overhead the exchange and commented on her remark that "before I call her over", I need to do a, b, c. 99% of my experience at this store is usually great. I don't know if this one worker is miserable or what, but just a warning to other shoppers, you may want to go to the regular lines for a pleasant experience rather than subjecting yourself to rude service.
