$5 Friday deals are the best. I like this Vons location, however the entire store seems a tad poorly lit. It could be brighter. I usually shop here for laundry detergent and baked goods. They have good bagels and decent cakes. The self-checkout machines can be a pain, though...they often get stuck and a clerk has to enter whatever code so I can proceed with my transaction. Wish the self-checkout machine had a conveyor belt like Fresh & Easy. It would be so much more efficient! read more

So this is my first time going to the deli at Vons. I think it took about 10 minutes for me to get service. When I finally saw someone who was available, she was very edgy. I like to buy their fried and roasted chicken here. 8 pieces for about $7. On Fridays, they have a deal of 8 pieces for $5 which I think is a decent deal. I always use the self check out and never have a problem. However, when I go to the deli section to order my chicken, it takes a very long time. Either the line gets too long and only one employee is assisting customers or I stand around waiting for an employee to come acknowledge me. I stopped off at this location after going to the bank because it was located right next door and I wanted to pick up some Avocado for the evenings dinner. I happened to pass by the cafe tuna and grabbed one even though it's a little pricy it is worth it and so delicious. I get home wanting to take a bite the whole way home only to open up and see that the plastic seal inside the container has been ripped off about halfway. I can not tell if this was an accident or if someone took a few bites and put it back. And now I am out $5.99 on some tuna that I can not in good conscious eat... And since it is groceries I am Dailey certain that they would not let Me exchange it, they would probably assume I ate some and am trying to take it back. I have no problem with Vons. However, the service at the Starbucks inside is disappointing. I was next in line for 15 minutes while the Starbucks barista and a customer chit chatted the whole time, and proceeded to make her coffees before taking my order or anyone behind me. The lady behind me even spoke up about it. She then interrupted me several times when trying to take my order, not listening to what I'm trying to say. I ordered a white mocha and an americano. Pretty simple, right? Guess not, got both orders wrong and my americano turned out to be a plain black coffee. Of course, I couldn't try it because it was extremely hot until I got all the way home. The people are friendly but the service here is getting way too slow. Each of the last 5 visits I was 4th or more in line with only two registers open. A bad experience on a lunch break can really damage views of this store. I come to Vons because it's right by my work and unfortunately this time they ruined my lunch break! I purchased a frozen pizza for lunch and upon inspection at work I noticed this item was expired! June 2013 is NOT THE date you'd want to see on any food that has cheese in it frozen or otherwise! I have been to many Vons around Inland Empire area and I have not found a better Vons then this one. They always have everything and the staff is always friendly and helpfull. I don't normally write reviews for places, however I just wanted to share my experience with the Jamba Juice clerk named Stephanie. She was so friendly off the bat and asked how I was doing and how my day was. I'm not really a smoothie person, however I decided to give it a try and told her that. She was so helpful and walked me thru the menu and gave lots of recommendations. She even kept the conversation going while she made my drink. I haven't gone back but if she's there then definitely! Another great worker is nancy who is checker, I was lost in finding couple of items and directed me in exactly where the cereal was at. I enjoy the gas reward deals when I shop at the vons store. I move further to another city and I still come to this store! Because of the fresh produce and the jamba juice drinks are great too. Today August 8. I went and got in line before 4:00 in the morning to buy my 30 lbs. of Hatch Chile . This is first time Von's has done this and they did a great job. In the past I went to Albertson's and had the people moving in line all the time because they didn't have a good system that would work. I will return and buy my chile from Von's. There deli and to go food are ridiculously high I came here to buy some sushi and it turns out they sell it as if its a sushi restaurant price which is pretty hilarious to me.. They have so much rice in the rolls and the meat has been sitting there for more than 3 hours and the price is still bogus high I definitely do not suggest buying any sushi here. If they are going to raise the bar on sushi prices then they need to actually higher sushi chefs and combo plates instead of ripping people off. I thought this was called a convenience store. This review is not only to thank VONS for their cheap gas but also for their honest cashier at gas station. I apologize that I was unable to get the young man's name. The incident happened on June 22, 2012, around noon when I left my wallet at the pump. Drove home to find out I was missing my wallet. I went back to the gas station and ask the cashier if anyone happen to find and turn it in. According to the cashier, the woman that came after me found my wallet and gave it him. VONS management should be so proud to have honest employees working for them. As for the woman who returned my wallet. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and honesty. By the way, I shop at VONS grocery as well and I always find VONS employees helpful and courteous. read more

Went to Jamba Juice inside of the Vons store located off of Euclid and Foothill. There was no one in line the Jamba Juice and it was very quiet, as I walked up to the counter the girl working there noticed I had walked up. She turned around to look at me and then ignored me. I stood there for a good 5 minutes before she actually turned around to acknowledge me. She was just standing there staring at the wall pretending to wipe down the counter. I just stood there patiently even though I was in a hurry, the girl didn't say hello good morning absolutely nothing. When she finally turned around she gave me the most repulsive look and then finally asked what I wanted. I proceeded to tell her and then she stomped over to the blenders and made my order. I wanted to tell her the boosts I wanted in my smoothies and she grumbled, I heard it, I know I am supposed to get one free boost and she didn't even want to give it to me. This girl was in such a bad mood it was uncomfortable for me to stand there. Anyhow I wanted to say something to her so badly, but I just kept the peace and then payed for my drinks and said have a nice day to her. I have never experienced such terrible customer service in my life. I used to work in customer service, retail, and the food service industry so I know what I need to expect. I really hesitate going back. I never had a problem before and I love to go to that specific Jamba Juice because it is so close to my home. I shop and get gas regularly at this location. I've always had a great experience in store . I've never really had much interaction with the employees at the gas station since I pay at the pump ( very convenient). Last night I went to get gas at this location and I was having a hard time getting my debit card to work at the pump. There was an error message and the screen at the pump instructed me to see the attendant. I stood at the window (there was nobody there). I heard someone having a long conversation about how to get a job at Vons (apparently this was the attendant). I stood patiently waiting for assistance. Finally the employee entered the booth and I explained that I was having trouble at pump six. She said sometimes the pumps just do crazy things, and told me that she could take payment at the window for a set amount. I told her I would like to put in $20. After she attempted to do the transaction she rudely informed me that my card was declined and said that if I don't have at least $126 Dollars in my account the pump won't accept my card! What? I had well over that amount in my account and went down the street to Shell to get gas ( and used that same debit card). Not happy with this experience at all, very unprofessional from start to finish. If this employee worked for me I'd be highly embarrassed read more

I shop here all the time and I've complained to corporate about this one employee who is a manager she's so rude I'm sure those who shop here often will know who I'm talking about she's African American always has long fake nails usually a wig or weave on . She yelled at me one time in front of my children she's been horribly rude to a friend of mine who was returning an item in which she called prior to make sure it was ok but this particular person is still there . I was in the store one day when another worker at Starbucks had an issue but since this manager was busy she said that she would wait for someone else to come help and that must have offended her because she started bad mouthing her in front of customers ! I've seen how she talks to the other workers there and vons corp does NOTHING I guess that's how much they value their employees and customers she's just bad negative energy in the store . don't buy von's holiday meals just picked mine up from the upland von's and the prime rib is fully frozen. they say it's precooked just reheat that is a total lie. you get stuck with a frozen meal that has to thaw out overnight. this is such a scam if I wanted a frozen full dinner to serve I would just buy frozen not von's so called precooked meal for a holiday dinner my guests are now stuck with eating pizza and I am totally embarrassed von's ruined my holiday meal. read more

I went in their floral dept a week and half before my Mom's 90th birthday to place an order for some small centerpieces to be picked up on a certain day, at a certain time. When I showed up, I was 20 minutes early. Maria was handling the counter that day. I gave her my order and she quickly went to the back to retrieve it. She came back empty-handed. I described the centerpieces to her and even showed her the vase that I had picked out. She went to the back and checked again. She returned again, empty-handed. She then called Ruby, the head of floral. She left her a message. Needless to say, I wasn't walking out with what I had ordered. Maria was very apologetic. I don't blame Maria, she was just covering the dept. that day. She did find the order slip, it was hidden behind another order slip. Ruby, being the head of the floral dept, should have called me and apologized for not having my order. I never received that call. I will definitely think twice before going back to this floral dept. read more

Jamba Juice--I enjoy Jamba Juice, and this location is very convenient for me because I live close by, but the customer service is horrible. The attendant, whoever it may be-male or female-is rude, slow and hating his/her job. I've been told that they are "out of strawberries" and to go to the location on Campus. I'm a reasonable person and can understand this, but she was visibly annoyed telling me this. On another occasion, I ordered the Berry Topper and asked for a lid for my cup, and the gentleman said in a rude tone, "we have none that fit," and he kept making little remarks under his breath. Then, he proceeded to grab a few bananas and slam them into the trash can saying "can't give this to the customer." The bananas looked fine to me. When he turned around, I managed to reach over, grab a lid for my Berry Topper that fit just fine. To say the least, I won't be returning. They have many fresh produce unlike a few other Vons' in the state. :) It's very clean and I love that they have a Jamba Juice and a Starbucks right when you walk in. They sell a variety of gift cards and everything. I love their bakery section. They have shelves filled with bread and they also sell fresh bagels. The customer service is terrible. The checker was very quite and saw that I was bagging my own groceries and didn't even call for a bagger. When a bagger walked by all she did was complain that she other things to do. I told her to take it up with the manager and she looked at me like it wasn't any of my business. It's been a frustrating night. This is specific to dry cleaning but because if this unfortunate event I will not be doing business here. I have been doing my dry cleaning here for over 3 years. I typically drop off and pick up my husbands uniform past the time it gives. That time is usually around 9-9:30 pm. I have NEVER had an issue and they have NEVER turned me dish in giving me my husbands uniform. I go in tonight August 5th and ask for my husbands uniform and a drop off of two uniforms. The woman said we cannot accept drop offs which is fine however I do want to say I have never been denied a drop off at this time. The main issue being a pick up of a uniform my husband needed for tomorrow's work day. She said no I can't I'll closed at 8-8:30 I'm not sure what time she said. I said he needs his uniform tomorrow so it's an issue and if you folks don't do that why have I done this countless times. She said if it was closer to the time I would. I said again I've done this baby times at this exact time and have never had an issue. If this was a problem the very first time I did this 3 years ago, you should've told me no. It's aggravating and frustrating when she was unhelpful and rude towards the end of the conversation. An unfortunate event but again I will not be doing business at all. read more

I am in love with this store. There are a lot of friendly faces and I have noticed that this store has a lot of new and young workers. In my opinion the younger ones give the store more energy, as soon I walk in I am greeted with a smile! Another thing I appreciated was when a courtesy clerk saw that I had trouble finding some things and she had no problem going out of her way to help me. The cashiers always ensure I am saving too! I had a rather gross experience at Von's Upland today. I was looking at the organic vegetables when I came face to face with a huge rat! He looked at me for a minute while he ran through the veggies. He then disappeared down between the cracks. I had a customer go get a store employee. A young man showed up with a flash light and a broom. He wasn't sure what to do if he found it. I left the store a little grossed out but didn't ask to speak to the store manager. I thought about it later and decided to call and make sure the manager was told about it and that they were doing something . I called 5 times before I could get a person to answer the phone. I was told the manager wasn't in today but Chrystal was the supervisor . After being put on hold for 10 minutes and calling back I finally gave up. I did call again for the produce department and a guy told me the exterminator was there. I guess they are trying to take care of the problem. I spend a lot of money at that store and now I'm grossed out. read more
