Velvet Touch is my favorite salon. I actually hate going to get my haircut, but I am comfortable here and I don't feel judged for only going once a year. My daughter loves going to get a haircut and she won't go anywhere else. Noone but Alex is allowed to touch her brows especially. Prices vary depending on the experience level. I'm not one to usually leave reviews but this feels warranted. Went in for a simple haircut (long hair rounded v-shape). Hair stylist kept swapping from freezing cold water to super hot during wash. Burnt my head with the hair dryer multiple times even after I asked her not to. Was overall not great at communication and I had to restate myself multiple times and could tell she was getting upset with me. Moreover, the actual hair cut is uneven and not a u-shape. I should have known after she spent 5 minutes on the framing around my face and then didn't check if they were even afterwords. read more

I've lived in the area for 5 years and I have gone to at least a dozen different hairdressers to try to get somebody to color my hair and cut my curly hair. I have never found anyone who can do it the right way. I went into VT Hair Salon made an appointment with Adria. She did an absolute amazing job. I will definitely be a longtime client. read more

I had a wonderful perm at Velevet Touch back in the early part of 2013. That sytlist has since left to be with her kids. It was time for my once a year perm, and I have to use grey and white, and purple for my bangs. "She" said, that was too tight", but I told her my hair is very resistent. I think Jamie rocks at color, but as far as perms go, this IS the WORST perm, I have ever had in the 32 years of getting them. She could care less. She was curt and condescending, not at all apologetic. I have a very DRY body wave and she just called me back, acting like this is the first she heard of me saying that. I was trying to be nice, and work it out with this stylist. NOPE....she said " I was confused" and that she, "did nothing wrong". So, are you saying that you did this on purpose? How could you not see, that there was no curl at all? If it were me, I would ask the person to come in, so I could see how I could fix it. I emailed the pictures posted here, to a manager, and today I got a full refund check. An owner, has since added pictures of staff, chairs, product bottles, in an obvious attempt to hide my photo of the worst perm on the planet. They were not there until I posted the disaster, and it is "not helpful" posting a picture of a chair. lol I was looking for: "we are sorry the stylist left out the neutralizer step, of the perm". I went to (2) salons to find out what we could do. I cannot wear a hat forever. Both agreed, that the neutralizer was left out, and they had to cut out the damage, it was so bad. She did a deep conditioning as well, but she said I cannot get a perm until at least the end of May! I cannot believe how little concern they have, when they make a mistake of this magnitude. If they screw up your hair as bad as mine, do not expect any service at all. My "tip", is to go someplace that will stand by the customer, if they mess up. If you want a realy laugh, schroll down and read the negative review from 2012. The owner just replied, AFTER I posted my negative review, in 2014! DWL....it took them (2) years to apologize and ask her to come back. "A day late and a hundred dollars short". read more

If you have money to burn, this is the salon for you -- I brought my child in to have her ends dyed. They charged me more than twice what they charged the last time I came in. The explanation was, "each stylist sets her prices." Let me be specific -- I was charged $190 for an ombre for a child. 190 dollars. And I was only told of the price at check out, when I expected the original price. Get this -- when I respectfully requested a price adjustment from the owner, Katrina, I was offered conditioner. When I asked again, she never replied. Do not patronize this business. You are warned! This business is inhumane! read more

This place is great, I have been coming here for years. The staff are friendly and knowledgable, and they are also willing to fix mistakes if your cut isn't short enough or if your color doesn't come out quite right. I would definitely recommend Valerie, she does a great job! I usually get a simple wash and cut although in the past I have done color jobs, glazes, and even got my hair done here for senior prom! Basically everything about this place is great, I don't trust any other salon in the area with my hair. read more

I am very picky about my hair. I decided to "shop around" given the amazing selection of stylists at VT Hair Salon, and although I had a wonderful experience with each girl I tried, when I had my first appointment with Marta, I knew she'd be the last one. Marta is so wonderful; she is incredibly nice about all of my nitpicking over the look I get, but she also somehow understands it, and manages to nail it every time. She really works with me to understand the style I'm going for, and I feel comfortable going to her; I tend to have a few days of dread after a haircut that I spend "fixing" things, but I don't worry about that with Marta. I've also used other services at the salon, such as the eyelash tint & loft, which I loved and really need to get done again. Besides all that, the atmosphere is so nice, and everybody is pleasant and fun to talk to. I don't go very frequently at all, but even the owner remembers me and asks how I'm doing when I come in. I love the whole creed there, thank you guys so much. read more

I got my eyebrows done there yesterday for the first time and both my eyelids are burnt!! I have never had this happen but it's incredibly painful and not ok. For $20 I expect way more!! I actually followed the woman who waxes from her previous salon because she was so great but I'm not sure what they use at Velvet Touch but I will never go back! read more

Jamie is the best hair stylist ever! Actually, I was her very first customer! She does all of my friends hair as well. She is EXCELLENT at choosing and applying beautiful colors for high/ low lights. She is always up to date on the newest styles and her scissor skills are phenomenal. I have been recommending Jamie for years and I am sure that Velvet Touch has been reaping the rewards for her hard work and innovative style. I was visiting my boyfriends family for the weekend & wanted a blow out before going out to dinner. His sister recommended that I check out The VT. They were super accommodating with scheduling my last minute appointment. My stylist did a fantastic job, blowing out my hair exactly how I wanted it. The blow out last for a couple of days without the curls falling out. Next time I'm in town & need a blow out or haircut I will definitely go back to this place. read more

I've been to the Velvet Touch several times over the last 10 years. It seems that the new ownership has made big investments on improving the facility and I've always received excellent treatment while getting my hair cut. Although it's a salon, I've found it to be very comfortable as a guy to go and get my hair cut, prices are very reasonable and quality is excellent. Im very picky about how my hair is cut and despite trying out new places that have popped up in town i keep coming back to the VT. recently moved to the area and went to Velvet Touch after researching the best salons in the area. my stylist was very nice (blow dry skills were HORRIBLE though, and to me that is the best part), but i just couldnt understand what all the hype was about? staff was friendly, prices are reasonable. they push to schedule your next appointment before you leave. i looked around at all of the other women getting their hair done and nothing really wowed me and seemed sub-par. i'd rather travel the 60 minutes to my old salon than return and pay for the convenience of living in the area. read more
