Oliver was super helpful when my SUV decided to overheat badly. I was worried and didn't know what was really wrong with my vehicle, but he was honest and understanding of my situation. I called him in the morning, bought the parts, dropped off my vehicle, and picked it up the same day. I was so worried and stressed about what could be wrong that I brought in a bunch of parts, radiator, hoses, belts, water pump. He only used the parts that were actually wrong with the car and that makes me 100% confident in him. He could have easily replaced all the parts I brought in but he didn't. He showed me the radiator he replaced and I could see where I had a big leak. I am 100% satisfied with the repairs and honestly am I'm lucky my friend pointed me in the direction of Oliver and his shop. Never met an honest mechanic. I had issues on my 2015 Honda Civic and spent money with other mechanics that didn't resolve anything. At the end of the day, it's a business and people try to make money off of you. Myself and family friends got FOOLED by the owner for over 26 years. YES you're reading this correctly! You might feel that the owner provided good services initially. However once he gained your trust you would be putting your lives on his hands! About 10-15 years ago, he swapped out our perfectly fine transmissions from both my CRV and family friends MDX and replaced them with some second hand rebuilt ones. Transmissions on these cars supposed to last forever, but Now the gears won't even shift right. Brake jobs on My daughter's civic and my CRV were horrible. Squeaks like everything is falling apart. Even people walking on sidewalks turned their heads to look. He will blame on you and say that you're a bad driver, which is total gaslighting and false statement ... our wheel locks were stolen by him as well since he last serviced the Civic. He's making our cars very unsafe to drive. DO CHECK YOUR OIL STICK AFTER OIL CHANGE WITH VTEC. The car drove smoothly, BUT I found only one qt of oil left from his last oil change! Therefore, it felt like your transmission is breaking down from normal tear and wears especially going uphill. We've eventually gone to another mechanic, realized the truth and how much better our cars drive. Do not get tricked, it saves more money and your mental well-being to go else where. **We found trackers in our cars that would drain battery power and trigger ignition kill when disconnected.** read more

We tried Oliver after our mechanic gave us a very high estimate for a power steering pump replacement. Oliver looked at our Honda Ridgeline quickly and let us know it wasn't the pump at all but rather the hoses around the pump. We agreed to replace the parts and he ordered them and called us when they arrived. He fixed them in one day as promised and was very respectful and easy to work with. My first review ever on yelp so just bare with me. I honestly stumbled into this business by accident. I was intentionally searching for food around the area by looking for all the 'nearby' review places. Then somehow I was looking at this business because of many red stars given by all the reviewers and hey my car was due for an oil change anyway. I went to Vtec during my lunch break to check it out. I thought maybe if i go during off hours they might not be as busy. Then again after all the great reviews they're probably busy still no matter what. So the back of my head i'm thinking I'll just be going there to check the place out and talk to the owner, Oliver, and make an appointment for Saturday or something. By the way I drive an Accord so it makes sense to take it to this place that specializes in Honda and Acura. When I got there, I basically introduced myself and told him, Oliver, that I heard of him from yelp, and the reason I came was to possibly get an oil change. I also told him that I was on my lunch break and I only have limited time, I wasn't sure if he had time for me or not. I saw he had a car inside his garage at the time and probably him and his crew were working on that car. I didn't think much of it. He said that he was waiting for a customer to drop off a vehicle and he said that he have some time right now. He then thanked me for looking him up and found him. I wanted a synthetic oil change and I wanted him to check the condition of my car as well, i told him that my breaks might need to be changed too or not. I wasn't sure. He told me that he'll look at it, he told me the price of the service (which was less than conventional places for synthetic oil ) He saved me about $10-20 there. He worked on my car, told me the guaranteed mileage from this oil change service, checked my breaks (front and back), checked my timing belt and everything was good. He also said that one of my back lights was burnt and he changed it for FREE, and he showed me burnt bulb. He actually took it out in front of me. He said that he wanted his customer to get treated right. Afterward when all said and done, he educated me on a few things on what to look out for specifically for my accord model condition. He said my breaks are fine and doesn't need to change just yet and can still keep going. I told him I drive my car a lot and he told me specifically about another x amount of miles I should have it check again. Overall I saved about $10-20 for synthetic oil change if i were to change at a conventional place with a rebate coupon!. I didn't know my back light was burnt and he changed it free of charge. He checked the condition of my car and gave me a piece of mind that it's fine including my breaks. He gave me a few pointers on what to look for within my specific Accord model. All this was done with no appointments, and within 45 mins of my lunch break and on my first time visiting and I didn't expect anything but reading a few reviews on yelp. I came out very impressed at Oliver and his crew. He had me sold on coming here for my every needs for my Accord from this point forward. I honestly feel that if you drive a Honda/Acura and live somewhat 10-15 miles radius of this place, you are doing yourself a disservice by not using him as your mechanic. In our head we estimate so much for auto repair and assume that the mechanic will call us back with something else that needs to be fixed, blah blah blah... but Oliver is straight up with you. I've always had a great experience with Oliver when i take my wifes Acura MDX there. I'm sure we all have had bad days where we are a bit stressed and overwhelmed, hence a few bad reviews from people recently with Oliver. Oliver has always been fair and done a great job, never tries to sell you something you don't need and is totally honest. Some things may be a little more expensive since he uses official Honda parts, but I would rather give my money to a great mechanic that knows what he's doing and does a great job on top of using the best parts for your vehicle. My family has been letting Oliver fix our Honda Accord for more than 15 years. From our first 1993 Honda Accord, then our 2005 Honda Accord, and recently we bought a 2013 accord. You can say our family really likes Honda in general, especially my dad. Recently our 2005 Honda Accord had a engine mount issue... We got it replaced by another mechanic but turns out they used a bad quality engine mount made in China... Oliver realized and fixed the problem right away. He also pointed out that there are two engine mounts in a car and because the previous mechanic used made in China products, it affected the other engine mount causing both to fail which caused our car to shake when the vehicle is not in motion and the engine noise was very loud. After Oliver replaced both parts, there was a major difference in engine noise. Now the car runs like new. We highly recommend Oliver to anybody who is looking to get their Honda or Acura vehicle repaired. He does a great job, helps you save some money on repairs and does not do unnecessary repairs in an attempt to earn more money. 10/10 will recommend read more

So far so good for me. I needed a B1 service and the dealer wanted to charge $230 just for an oil change and various inspections. I went to Oliver and he charged for the oil change and that was it. He explained that the dealer is more expensive because of the overhead costs. Saturday was busy but it was the only day I could go. If you have a person who can pick you up and bring you back, that's preferable. read more

I am new to this area, and when the entire electrical system on my car went out, I had no idea where i should take my honda. My mom suggested I yelp repair shops nearby, and I found Vtec. They were great, they let me send my car over on a tow truck and worked with me over the phone so that I didn't have to find a ride over there- which was a huge help, because I am in my finals week right now. Oliver was really friendly, he clearly explained what was wrong with my car and what my options were to fix it, and he fixed it super fast. Oliver is honest and good prices. I am a little disappointed that after paying $2400 for a rebuilt transmission, it went out after the 1 year warranty expired. I now have to spend again to get a new rebuilt but will probably go somewhere else. Oliver doesn't do transmissions but farms it out, hence the problem. read more
