We stopped in 15 minutes before closing. I usually don't like to go in a food place 15 minutes before closing, but really we had some issues that kept us from coming earlier. We walked in and started discussing what we wanted and were told that all they had was plain chicken bowls. There was nothing else available--no veggies and no dumplings. I had hoped there would be more than one item available since they really were still open. But we were hungry and tired and said it was okay that we would take two chicken bowls. The chicken bowls were good. The chicken had a really nice flavor and you can't go wrong with the waba sauce. I don't ever care one way or the other for rice, and the rice was fine. I feel very torn about places that shut everything down before closing time. I do understand they want to start clean up early and get out. I'm sure I would feel the same way. But I also think if a place is open, then it should be open, not just open a little bit. The food was unacceptable--served cold despite being "freshly made," which tells me there is a serious lack of focus and quality control in your kitchen. Watching your staff on their phones, distracted and careless, made it very clear why orders are being mishandled. What was even more disappointing was the attitude. When a customer says "thank you," the appropriate response is professionalism--not eye-rolling and disrespect. That behavior reflects directly on your leadership and the standards you tolerate. If members of your team don't want to be there, they should be replaced with people who take pride in their work and respect the customers who keep your doors open. I used Yelp to look up the menu of this new WaBa Grill that is walking distance from my work and saw 3 not so favorable reviews. I've been to other locations so I wasn't really looking for reviews however seeing the low rating made me want to read them. Being a new establishment, it often takes time to get everything running smoothly so I didn't let the 1- Star rating deter me. I placed my order over the phone and the person taking was order was pleasant. I was told 7-10 minutes which was nice to hear because it was right in the middle of most people's lunch time & I expected it to take longer. I arrived about 8 min later, was greeted as I walked in, food was bagged & ready to go, cashier was friendly (his initials are MM per receipt) and told me to have a good day as I exited. Upon eating my lunch, our orders were accurate, food was a good temperature, bowls were FULL, chicken was moist... no issues. For all that I described above, I will give them a 5-Star rating in hopes of counteracting some of the negative reviews and wish others will give them a chance. read more
