Came here with the kids for some lunch as my son loves him some kimbap and bulgogi. The food was good, a solid base hit - my daughter liked her katsu curry, my son enjoyed the kimbap, and my bulgogi bowl was decent. It's a small shop, not too much seating wise, but we were the only ones there so it worked out fine. The service was fine overall as well - the drink machine was busted, but such is life. I got the kids a canned soda ( Where I have issue is something that's happened to me a few times now as of late, and that's higher prices on my bill than are listed in the menu. My bill total was ~$10 more than I had initially expected, and when I looked at the receipt I realized it was because every item I purchased was anywhere between $0.50 to $1.25 more than it showed on both the outside and inside menu. I can appreciate that costs are going up, but you must update your menu prices accordingly so that we as the customer can make our decisions accordingly. For that they dropped from 4 to 3 stars. Again, this isn't the first place I've had this experience at, and they were marked down accordingly as well. If you can take the time to update the prices in your register you can do the same on your outside board and inside screens. read more

Order was placed on DoorDash ahead of time and everything was ready upon arrival. Parking is plenty and free right near the entrance. It was off peak lunch hour where it's sometimes hard to find Asian restaurants that aren't on recess. I was happy to find Mori because of the convenient hours, location, and available method of ordering. The food I was provided blew me away. Every bite I had was flavorful and sumptuous. The spicy pork bowl and katsu bowl with fried rice gave me enough for 3 other lunch servings. The value and the taste of the food here is unmatched! I stopped by Mori Katsu & Kimbap during lunch and the place was pretty empty, but I like supporting small businesses so I wanted to give it a try. The decor is modern fast-casual with a bold orange-and-black look, a ribbed black wall with the logo, and orange metal chairs. They had K-pop playing, which was fun while I waited. Service was fine overall, but the greeting felt a little flat, and the cashier assumed my order was to go, saying, "I'm guessing your order is to go, right?" It wasn't a huge deal, but it set a tone that wasn't very welcoming. I ordered the sesame chicken bowl. Presentation was decent at first and I had hope, but the texture and flavor didn't work for me. The breaded chicken was dry and chewy instead of crispy, and the sauce didn't taste like a sesame sauce. A little fresh garnish or actual sesame seeds could have helped, but as-is it felt pretty bland. I took a couple bites and couldn't finish it. The chicken katsu curry plate is really good! There is a generous portion of chicken, fried egg & a large side of curry. The cucumbers are seasoned well with a sesame sauce. My photo looks messy because I already dug into it but there was so much yummy food I'll be back. Only cons were only Pepsi products & the ice maker was broken. Was just on yelp to see what my stomach was feeling today and saw this new place pop up somehow The inside was very clean and has a tad bit of seating. Like only 2 ppl can sit per table. Will say that I wish they had music or something cuz it was dead silent and you can hear the echoes. The music would help and make it more lively for sure :))). I wanted to like Mori. I've heard a ton of good things, so I came in with high hopes--but honestly, it just didn't deliver for me. My biggest issue was the pricing compared to what you get. I ordered the standard bulgogi bowl, and the portion felt a little light right off the bat. I expected something a bit more filling or at least more balanced for the price point. Flavor-wise, it wasn't bad, but it was too sauced up like drowning. The bulgogi had potential, but the heavy hand with the sauce masked everything else in the bowl. It was hard to enjoy the different elements because they were all swimming in one overpowering flavor. I'm not saying they're always like this--maybe I just caught them on an off day. But from what I've been hearing, I expected something more impressive. Portions are large but taste is average. I ordered a pork curry katsu bowl. It came with two large katsu but they were 1/2 inch thin making them not so juicy once cooked. One thicker better executed would be more appealing. Lovely thin layer of a sweet sauce and cabbage under the katsu to separate it from the rice. Curry was just alright...Japanese curry from the box is more flavorful. Ordered a kimbap. Great flavor and generous filling. It's rolled by a machine and lacks the tension to hold it together. Our takeout order came with two complimentary cups of soup. Fishcake kimbap was good, not too salty and just the right amount of flavor. Gobo kimbap was very crunchy, not the biggest fan. Since the rolls are bigger than the usual kimbap they were more fragile when picking them up. The spicy chicken wasn't that spicy, lacking in some flavor. It was stir fried with vegetables and rice cake. The cucumber side tasted better than the mac salad, which was bland. I was in the area and decided to finally try it. Ordered spicy pork plate, udon and kimbap combo and tteokboki. My child who loves udon didn't finish it as she said it wasn't very good. This is the first. The kimbap was bland and was just full of rice. Spicy pork was not spicy whatsoever and didn't have much flavor as I had to add salt to it. We went during soft opening. Cute and clean space. Kimbap was excellent! The fillings were yummy and full inside each kimbap, hardly any rice. Each kimbap was wrapped in perfection. I personally liked the spicy kick in spicy tuna kimbap. The hot udon soup that comes with the rolls were perfect complement to the kimbap. The appetizers sesame chicken and calamari were crisp and yummy. We already had handful before realizing we hadn't taken a picture. I would love to go back and try all the other kimbap. read more

Tried this spot during their soft opening, and it was a pleasant surprise. I happened to stumble upon it while heading to CrafTea and decided to stop in. I was the only customer at the time (Sunday around 5 PM), so service was prompt and attentive. They had water readily available while I waited -- a small but appreciated touch, especially because it was a hot day. I ordered the chicken katsu plate and enjoyed it. The katsu was pretty solid -- not the crispiest, but flavorful, and nicely done. The sauce had a hint of sesame that I really liked. Portions were fair, though I wouldn't have minded a bit more of the sesame cucumbers on the side -- they were really refreshing and had just the right amount of kick from the jalapeños. Since they're still in soft opening mode, I'm sure there are tweaks to come, but overall I had a good experience. Came in for lunch and ordered the katsudon. It came with a lot of katsu though it seemed like it should come with a bit more onions and egg. The pork katsu was pretty good quality, better than some but worse than others. I would advise them to change the oil in their fryer more often as it had that well-used aroma and taste, though not as bad as some places. Since I planned to eat in at one of their tables, I would have liked it if it had come in a proper bowl instead of take-out containers. All in all, it was pretty good so I will be back. read more
