Came here with some friends during my lunch break and was pleasantly surprised that they had a really wide options for their lunch specials. They have lunch specials M-F from 11:30-3P with choices of bento boxes, sashimi set, sushi set, hand roll set, and shogun roll set all between $14-$20. I chose the hand roll set, which is 3 hand rolls of your choice from 9 different options to choose from. I chose the shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, and eel and avocado hand rolls. The set comes with a miso soup and a salad with house dressing all for $14.75. I loved all my rolls. The spicy tuna was a little bit more spicy than I expected but good thing I love spicy. The food was the perfect amount of not more for lunch. I ended up asking for to-go boxes because I was already full. The service was great. The server came around often and made sure we were topped off on drinks and anything we needed. I would definitely come again.

Thai owned. Ordered To go. Was very quick. They have happy hour 230-530 for beers, premium rolls are buy one get 50% second except Fridays. For $36 you can get 3 premium rolls and an appetizer during HH. If you order 8+ premium rolls you can get 15% off. There was another sign that sign HH 3-6 50% off appetizers and 20% off alcohol. Looks like lots of deals going on midday to the evening. My roll was pretty good. Got the Destiny roll $15.55 to eat in the car on the way home. Salmon inside, yellowtail on top.

This is my happy place, I'm loyal. This sushi spot is an absolute gem. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance felt intimate and refined low lighting, clean aesthetics, and that subtle hum of a well-run sushi bar. The fish was incredibly fresh, and beautifully presented. Every bite tasted intentional. The omakase-style selections were perfectly balanced, and the specialty rolls didn't overpower the quality of the seafood. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Definitely a spot for sushi lovers who appreciate quality over gimmicks. Cheers! We love their bento boxes because you can pick and choose and customize it to your liking

Haven't been here in a while and was craving sushi so here we come Wasn't too busy after coming after 530pm Servers were helpful and efficient Rolls were tasty but a bit too spicy for me but no worries still enjoyed the flavors, plumpness of rolls, and selection of rolls Would of been given a higher star but we were asked to leave our table because a larger table needed it. As we were leaving, there was a party of 3 waiting with plenty of empty small and large tables. And it was not closing time. It definitely changed our mind about coming back and wondering why we were asked to leave.

Had an amazing dinner date at Kampai Sushi House yesterday! This place is definitely going to be one of my go-to sushi and drinking spots. The fish was super fresh, and the food came out quickly. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly, which made the experience even better. For the two of us, we ordered the pizza bites, fried calamari, Kampai roll, sashimi platter, green tea tempura, and lots and lots of sake. Everything was legit, but we really recommend the pizza bites and green tea tempura. Both were super unique and full of flavor. Also want to give a shoutout to our server (I think her name was Mami). She was so kind and on top of everything. Definitely feels like a true neighborhood gem!

Kampai Sushi House was a hit! Came here on a chill Tuesday evening with my friend. Ordered the bento box with the Philly roll and gyoza. Everything was super yummy! Literally everything I ate was delicious. The price was decent for the amount of food you get. The atmosphere was nice for conversation and good vibes. Great location, easy parking, and quick service. Overall, worth a try!! I'll definitely be back.

Another great place to eat! I got there about an half hour after they opened. I started with bluefin tuna sushi I ordered the Hawaiian roll, from the premium list so the sushi chef informed me the next one would be half off. So I said dealers choice. He made me an animal style roll, it was all very good ! As far as the ambience goes I would say this place made me feel like I knew a secret place only true samurai's sushi eating warriors knew about. The staff were attentive and helpful.

They have an excellent Happy Hour. 2:30 - 5:30pm 3 premium rolls and an appetizer for $36. Good amount of food for 2 people. Candy, Kryptonite, Angry Bird, 911, and Rock Star are all the Rolls I tend to order when I go. As per the appetizer, I've ordered the Tuna Bites, Sushi Pizza (outstanding), and gyoza. I highly recommend trying this place out. Especially for Happy Hour (since it's a great deal for 3 rolls and an appetizer) to form your own opinion. I know you will not be disappointed. All the food I've had here has been delicious and fresh. It's a corner restaurant. Plenty of seating inside. No outside seating. Every staff member even the sushi chefs are great with all the customers. Very friendly and they all provide great service.

When you walk in, this spot will give you a very casual family friendly vibe. The food and the service give you a high end experience due to the quality of the fish and the attentive servers.

Really good sushi! Fast, efficient and friendly service. In a small center near Nicks Deli. Quality fish for a reasonable price. Lots of choices including bento boxes, sushi combos, rolls and more. Today we got the Spicy edamame, Sushi Deluxe (quality fish and good size cuts) , Kill bill roll, spicy salmon hand roll, and bento box with 2 sushi rolls. Everyone really enjoyed their food and we all want to come back to try more.

At the very least, it has been my favorite chain of Japanese markets, but it stinks how they have just one location in the Bay Area! In fact, across my limited number of trips to SoCal, I've already visited more locations down here than back at home and I have to say - this location may be the newest, but it's also my least favorite one I've been to. Like pretty much every other Mitsuwa I've been to, this location has a cute little food court with a half dozen or so eateries offering a variety of food options - from ramen, udon, and curry rice plates to onigiri, matcha, and Japanese sweets. As for the market, it has all of the usual offerings you would expect - a solid selection of fresh produce, meats, seafood, frozen foods, pantry staples, alcohol, snacks, and sections of prepared foods and sushi to choose from. What's more, as a whole, everything here felt so new and clean (which makes sense in hindsight, as it apparently opened only back in November). With all of that having been said, though, it's weird to me how this place still felt a bit...lacking. While you can find a decent mix of things to eat at their food court, it's pretty much limited to three eateries, so don't be surprised to see lines when it's busy. Also, despite how new it is, the market feels smaller than other Mitsuwas I've been to. That's not inherently bad, but pickings felt relatively slim for certain meats and produce we were looking for, as well as their bento boxes and sushi. Granted, it probably didn't help that we were here on a Sunday and the place was packed with customers, but it's not like we stopped in towards the end of the day either. All in all, while I definitely think there are plenty of positives about this location, I'd be lying if I said I was as impressed with this one as I was by their location in Costa Mesa. It's definitely nice how new it is and I would never be opposed to going to any Mitsuwa, but if I lived out this way, it'd be tough not to know whether I'll be able to get everything I need here or if I'll also need to stop off somewhere else. THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

Under their Light Dinner section, they offer a Zarusoba for $12.00 and a Tempura Udon/Soba with Shrimp Tempura for $13.00. However, if you want Zarusoba with Tempura, they charge an extra dollar. The Zarusoba was good, but it would be nice if they gave a bit more sauce for dipping. I also got a Sashimi Salad, which had a lot of sashimi! It had salmon, tuna, and a white fish. Pretty good, but it could have used a little more dressing as well. The Combination Plate with Salmon and Tempura was enjoyable. It comes with a piece of salmon, a variety of tempura (shrimp, broccoli, sweet potato, onion), side salad, miso soup, rice, tempura sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Salmon was cooked well, and I liked all of the tempura! Their Lunch Specials are originally what caught my eye, but it seems like they don't have anything similar for dinner. Instead, everything is a la carte with the exception of a few combination plates. I wish they would do dinner specials similar to their lunch specials! Parking here is pretty difficult. The lot gets packed with several cars circling around hunting for a spot. They're also going some construction right now which doesn't help. There is a large parking lot where the Home Depot is next door, but they specifically have signs posted to say you can't park there.

These are the sort of eateries I seek out when I go to Japan as they are affordable, filling, and satisfying. Just as they do in Japan, they have a large display case on the wall which is filled with a couple dozen realistic plastic displays of the various plates they offer. It makes it easy to see what you'll be getting and helps me make a decision. I was there for a late lunch and ordered the pork katsu curry plate and also, for an additional fee, added an omelette on top of the rice (omu-curry). I was given a pager by the friendly fellow at the counter and my meal was made in less than ten minutes. I sat and ate in the clean, comfortable food court. The pork was good quality, very tender, with a crunchy panko coating. The rice was done perfectly and the omelette on top was delicious with a buttery taste and soft texture. I loved the curry; it had excellent flavor and complemented the pork well. There were also some slices of hard-boiled egg and some bits of radish on the plate as well as a cabbage salad. My single complaint is that the salad had no dressing so was rather "blah" compared to everything else. I call these places fast-food katsu. They are all over Japan.
