No cooking last night and I decided to bring my family for the first time to WaBa Grill in Temecula. Management, I've expressed to the cashier that this is our first time to the place and unfamiliar with their food. And I asked if I can sample a small bite of both the chicken and the beef and we go from there- either I like either one and stay OR just leave and find another place. Me and family loves grilled and at the same time like locavores who wants to support local. To my surprise, the leader or man manager came ( maybe the manager) and said no we don't give any sample and looked at me like I'm crazy. But I don't want to create a scene because I am with my daughter & husband, and witnessed embarrassment. Our excitement to try their WABA GRILL FOOD turned an UNFORTUNATE EVENT. We ended at ordering at our own risk. We ended up ordering their signature plates combination of chicken and beef. We sat down and eat. We wasted our monies for our undelightful dinner. We were hoping to establish a bowl food that we love so we can just keep coming back . They do have nice pictures on display, I give the that. Service is an F, they need to be trained and one thing I noticed, they didn't acknowledged or welcome us when we came in. And no, there was only 1 person eating, so it was not busy. I love HANA SUSHI, always warm and makes you feel welcome. And this place will never be on our list. In the past, i handled and trained managers to be in food establishments, sampling is a huge thing. Go to the food court at promenade, they sample to bring in people. Hope you see the concept. Franchise is a privilege and if you are the owner, this is my 2 cents for improvement. Customer is always right and I am not requesting anything impossible. WaBa is ok. The place is pretty clean and customer service is great. It claims to be healthy, but that is all dependent upon what you order. The rice bowls come with lots of rice which is good, but high in carbs if you wanna be real. This place reminds me of Flame Broiler. The sauce and hot sauce really make the meal. Get green onions on top for more flavor! I like how there are options other that chicken and steak as well. read more

They get 2 stars only because we like the food but this location is a joke! We came in at 645 on a Saturday to a bunch of employees standing around on there phones and the lobby was filthy. One employee kept using her hand to put beef back and forth between our bowls to apparently even it out, she had a glove on but did this not look good. This place is pretty good I've been here a couple of times and got a chicken veggie bowl but I have to say this time I was very disappointed I called in and order a beef veggie bowl with no rice and extra veggies. I guess extra veggies means fill the bowl up with cabbage and nothing else there was literally 3 pieces of broccoli and 3 pieces of Carrots in the whole bowl so I guess I should be more specific next time and ask for extra broccoli and carrots other than that it's a good place to eat read more

Horrible service.. Arrived 20 minutes prior to closing and was immediately told by the cashier that the restaurant would be closing soon. We ordered our food and sat down. A gentleman came around and turned off the TV while we were watching it. They began putting all the chairs up and locked the restrooms so we couldn't use them. We even heard them talking about us behind the counter. They then began cleaning everything with strong cleaners (smelt like Lysol). We felt very unwelcome and will not be back!!!! read more

I always got the combo and the last two times I got it the beef was chopped so fine it looked like ground beef, and it was over seasoned. It didn't even come close to their pictures. Meh. The food was okay. I got the signature "WaBa Plate" and the chicken and steak was cooked correctly and the portion was just enough to fill me up, which I enjoyed. The reason I wouldn't come back to this particular location was the bad customer service. I explained to the young lady up front that it was my first time and if she had any recommendations for me. A simple, "this is our most popular dish because..." would have been a sufficient answer. Instead I got a, "I don't know... everything really." And it wasn't really even the extremely vague answer as much as it was her facial expression and body language. Like she was annoyed that I was even there asking her questions about the menu. The audacity this customer has! Asking me questions about FOOD as if I work at a FOOD restaurant! Oh... wait... I'm sorry, but there are a billion of other places to eat on Temecula Park Way. Customer service: This was my boyfriend and I's 2nd time at this location. I have to say that we are very clean healthy people, and although we have eaten here once before... We do not remember the way the "healthy" chicken was prepared. I always eat salmon wherever we go, so I wouldn't know that it's extremely fatty and gross. This time I didn't eat, my bf wanted 2 proteins so he went with a salmon bowl and extra chicken on the side. When we got the chicken my bf said if he knew it would be more fat than protein he would have gotten more salmon. I decided to take the bowl of fatty chicken up to the girl working the register - let me just add - there were 5 or 6 employees total and only my bf and I in there. I politely asked the girl to please replace the chicken with the salmon and I would pay the difference.... The blank stare and quiet attitude already pushed me. I would understand if it was busy, or I was asking for free food, but we were clearly not pleased. My apologies for wasting food...never my intention. However, to be considered healthy the meat should be clean and not covered in fat. Customer service is everything. Smile and be kind. Went there for the first time. The service was very good. Everyone went out of their way to be friendly. The food was OK. The portion sizes were OK. The pricing was reasonable. It did not leave me craving to come back again. I will be back again, but only if I happen to be in that plaza and I'm struggling to make a decision on a restaurant. I will not make a special trip. Not sure what this other person is talking about. I work on Temecula Prkwy and am new to the area. I really wanted flame broiler or something of that category. Driving around I stumbled upon this beauty. And I am super happy i did. I really didn't want anything fast food but wanted it to be quick. I walked in and ordered the 16 I think. Chicken and veggies, was asked if I wanted brown or white rice, onions and a drink. I was in and out with in 7 minutes probably less. And honestly when your on a schedule every second counts. I sat down to eat and it was delicious. The chicken did seem slightly over. Cooked but not inedible. And it would be nice if it was bigger. I LOVE Waba Grill. The Beef plate with brown rice is awesome. We always get an extra bowl for breakfast. My husband adds eggs and he is good to go. I would give 5 stars but I don't care for the new salad change. Before a mix lettuces and a great dressing, but the new salad is kale (which I like too) but its very plain. Otherwise with the previously salad and dressing it was 5 stars!!! A perfect combination of savory beef and nutty rice and the previous salad was crisp and dressing cut through the richness.
