Update as of Sunday, 9/6/2026: we are back and we met the new manager, Tenzin bajracharya, and he was so kind, friendly, attentive and such a great people person. He introduced us to many good drinks and food. And we are always so happy to meet Alton. He is always so friendly and always takes the time out to say hi to us. He is such a good person too. He's been here for a while and always so happy and go lucky type of person too. We love Alton! And we met the new bartender, Michael and he was very nice, kind and the drinks are on point and delicious! Food is always fresh and delicious! We love the service here. Simply amazing and so nice to have a few drinks and wind down. Keep up the outstanding work!
Recently opened in Queens. Between the ambiance, the staff, the speed of service and the flavor profile - I have no complaints. Parking garage is right next door if no street parking spots. The cherry blossom tree in the middle of the restaurant is a really nice touch. Opt for the À la carte instead of the omakase Started with Kaarage chicken, shishito peppers and a soft shell crab. DELICIOUS. Then opt for the 6 hand roll option. They were all delicious! The scallop hand roll was my fave. Also tried 2 specialty rolls and several lychee martinis. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Wabi Nori recently took over in place of Kaizen and I have no complaints! Each piece was thoughtfully made and served. Their appetizers before the course began blew me away and set high expectations for the rest of the course. Would highly recommend doing their omakase experience!!
Staying at the hotel next door, we were looking for a lunch nearby. We love sushi but cant get great stuff due to our home location. I am so glad we came here. We came at brunch time, and my husband ordered the egg sando with sweet potato fries and milo soup. I had the wabi omakase so that I could try a bunch of things. The quality was off the charts. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. Our server was great, explaining every dish as we got it, what it was, and how to eat it properly. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the vibe was so cool. Absolutely recommend
For our last meal in New York, we found ourselves at Kaizen for their Happy Hour. (Monday through Thursday from 5 pm to 7 pm) It's actually a Bottomless Happy Hour - $30 for one hour or $50 for two hours and includes four of their cocktails. Their specialty cocktails include Kyoto Collins, Shiranami Paloma, Shizuku Green Tea, and Yugiri Gin. The descriptions sounded amazing, but we did not partake. There was also other drink options like beers for $6, cocktails for $10, well shots for $7, well drinks for $7, and house wines for $8. We really came for their $5 hand rolls - salmon avocado, tuna avocado, spicy salmon, yellowtail scallion, and fried oyster. They also had appetizers as part of their happy hour - French fries, pan-fried pork gyoza, karaage, fried chicken wings, Japanese honey glazed ribs, and rock shrimp tempura. We got an order of the pork gyoza and about 14 hand rolls. The yellowtail scallion came with a little squirt of yuzu? that you can add on your own. That was a cute little presentation with that. The spicy salmon came with a bit of ikura and the fried oyster had a little aioli on top. The omakase would have been a nice experience, but reservations were required and it was already full. The restaurant itself is very modern with sleek lines and a cherry blossom centered at the sushi bar. Service was great and the staff were personable. There was a slight hiccup with a wrong order, but it was quickly fixed without any fanfare. We never really had a chance to look at their regular menu since we were focused on happy hour. And plus you needed to scan the QR code to see the regular menu, so it got overlooked completely. Overall, Kaizen was a nice way to end our trip to New York. Great hand rolls during their great happy hour! They are temporarily closed until the beginning of March.
This is for Wabi Nori. Really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it was lackluster. We tried Kaizen before and the quality/atmosphere is very similar so they probably have the same suppliers and maybe even same owners just rebranding. We ordered 2 mixed drinks from happy hour and they were fine but very sweet and not much alcohol. We also got the 6 handroll combo that came with spicy tuna, salmon, yellowtail, scallop, crab and lobster. I asked for less rice but the waitress said they don't put a lot of rice so I let it be. It was A LOT of rice. We also couldn't taste the difference between the rolls because all the fish was super chopped up and heavily seasoned so everything was mushy and tasted the same. Although service was good, we won't be back and can't recommend this spot :(
I would go here again and again. Everything I had was perfection and the fish was very fresh. Everything came out so quickly and our waitress was so helpful with questions and letting us know of happy hour deals. It's a silly little space but that certainly adds to the ambience.
Came back here for the omakase for my husband birthday. There was a slight hiccup with our reservation. I booked for a table but they have reserved the sushi bar. Sunny was very polite as we work through the seating arrangements. One party left so we were able to get a table. We opt for the $100 chefs special 15 course omakase. They did tell us that since we were at the table there will be a long wait time which we are ok with. Appetizers and sushi was good. The best appetizer is the fish and the best sushi is the Wagyu. We were short 1 course as we got 4 appetizers and 10 pieces of sushi which makes 14. We also didn't get uni as advertised on the website. Overall I don't think this omakase is worth the price as there wasn't any "wow" factor except for the Wagyu. However, the staff was nice and they accommodate the request for a "birthday surprise " with a small cake and candle.
Had an amazing $39 bottomless sake mimosa brunch at the newly renovated Wabi Nori in Flushing today! Everything was amazing and we especially enjoyed the egg sandos. Staff was so friendly and the restaurant is beautiful. There's also a parking deck right there!
We went to Wabi Nori try 15 course omakase for $128. Sushi chef Sam uses seasonal ingredients and fish to create his own menu which is incomparable to those omakase under $100 in the city. Each course is just an art work, beautiful, fresh and tasty. After renovation, the new restaurant (used to be Kaizen) is truly upgraded to the next level. The decor is very modern, and the sushi bar is longer to host 10 people. 75% of raw fish is directly imported from Japan. I can see Chef Sam put a lot of efforts and details to make each piece nearly perfect. Especially Chef Sam is hilariously funny. Manager Sunny is very attentive and hospitable. Both men can make you laugh for 2 hours. I can't wait to go back to taste Sam's summer omakase menu.
A lot smaller than it looks online, the space is beautiful with a giant cherry blossom tree in the middle hanging over the sushi bar. Parking is tough, the restaurant is attached to a hotel that has a parking lot. I walked in on a Monday night and was seated right away. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I sat at the bar and opted for the summer restaurant week menu- 7 courses for $45. It was not 7 courses. It was 3 courses. Miso soup for app, 6 pieces of sushi & a 4pc maki roll. Everything was delicious! The sushi already had the soy sauce and wasabi included which was a nice touch. The matcha margarita was very spicy, similar to a jalapeño marg. Overall a nice spot, good, quality sushi but a little pricey for what you get.
Came here for restaurant week dinner. The presentation and the taste was fine. The online ads for restaurant week didn't specify you must sit at a table to do the restaurant week deal and can't sit at the sushi bar. That was fine since that was fixed. But the food was not a lot. The fish was fresh, but I didn't find anything worth dying for. The thing that was upsetting was the undisclosed credit card surcharge. While I would've still paid with card, it would've been nice if that was made clear when the server came to collect payment.

I reserved the Mother's Day omakase experience. The food was good, of course, but I particularly enjoyed the company of the hibachi chef. He noticed my father seemed a bit awkward, and went out of his way to chat with him about the different seafoods, where to catch them, etc. My father always feels a bit out of place in fancy restaurants, but he loves food and cooking so I was glad the chef caught onto that. The Mother's Day omakase was pricey, at $150 per person, but it was a great experience. read more
The interior decor is really nice. The best place to sit is in the area encasing the fake cherry blossom tree, which is where we reserved seats. I highly recommend reserving seats in advance since it gets really busy & they might not have seats available, esp in the best spot. Service is good , but I wished 1 of the servers spoke a bit slower, cuz it's kinda hard to understand & remember items on the menu when they start rapping. We got the $65 12-course spring omakase. This seasonal menu ends 6/20. We thought the 12 course might not be filling enough for dinner, but if you check in on Yelp, you get a free classic hand roll. My friend also had a coupon for an appetizer & we were satisfied with the whole meal. I don't ever recommend eating up to your neck like I do once in a while, cuz you might not be able to move & might end up with a stomachache for the next 30mins. I don't eat raw seafood much so this was definitely a different experience for me. The sauces &/or seasoning are overbearing at times; you can't taste the seafood much cuz the sauce or seasoning overpowers it. A few of the courses were a bit too salty for me. 1st course was oyster with roe & scallion on top. This was my 1st time having such big roe raw. It feels like popping boba when it pops, but then what hits is a taste similar to fish oil. Since my friend had a coupon for free appetizer, we chose rock shrimp out of that & edamame. The rock shrimp tempura is decent. It comes on a bed of leaves & is doused with a sweet mango? sauce & sesame seeds. The shrimp is piping hot, so be careful unless you want a burnt tongue & mouth. Don't expect the rock shrimp to be anything like P.F. Chang's. The latter has bigger, crispier shrimp with a thicker, creamier, not as sweet sauce. 2nd course was miso soup. I've hated miso soup ever since I tried it some 14 years ago or so. Idk if I'm getting accustomed to the taste, but this miso soup was pretty decent. 3rd course was soft shell crab. This was nice, crispy, not overdone, crunchy exterior. Some places overdo it & burn it a bit. Not here tho. Perfect exterior & soft meat. It wasn't bitter like some places where they don't take out/clean whatever organ makes it bitter. Courses 4 to 8 were some types of fish & seafood including tuna, salmon. Course 6 might've been scallop, but not sure. Course 9 was sea squirt. It has a really strong raw seafood aftertaste. With all of the courses besides the 1st 2, the wasabi hits at the end. Course 10 was some typa fish. Course 11 some typa fish in seaweed. After that, we got the check in perk. I chose yellowtail scallion while my friend got salmon avocado. The cuts of fish were really good. Some were better taste-wise, the fattier, the more buttery & better imo. Course 12 is dessert, which is mochi ice cream: mango, strawberry, matcha, & I think there was another option. I chose matcha & my friend got mango. Each of the mochi ice creams are split in half. Whatever you do, no matter how burnt your tongue or mouth is from before, don't shove half the mochi ice cream in your mouth, unless you want brain freeze. Take a small bite at a time, unless you wanna torture yourself. read more

Went here for Mother's Day and of course I'm booking the omakase at the bar. 18 course for $150 definitely worth it! The uni pasta, hand roll, oyster, wagyu were my favorite. Make reservations ahead of time. Staff were really nice and friendly. Would definitely go back to go for another omakase and won't be hungry afterwards! read more

A very classy Japanese restaurant that is part of the Four Points by Sheraton Flushing Hotel. The place is not that big, but there are several seating options: bar for drinks, sushi bar for Omakase experience (piece by piece), table and booths for regular dining options or Omakase served in flights. There are also two black wooden circle swings in front of a Sakura flower sign that is perfect for a photo op! The restaurant does offer lunch on Fridays to Sundays from 12 PM to 3 PM with special combos as well as Omakase for take out. I came here twice for the omakaze at the sushi bar, which happens to be both my first and second Omakase experiences. There are about 18 seats at the sushi bar and Omakase bookings limit up to 6 guests per hour from 5 PM to 9 PM. The 12 course takes about an hour or more and the 16 course takes about an hour and a half to two hours. The first time I came on a Thursday for ladies night which was buy 1 get one free Lycheetini and Pink Lily. However, I made it a few minutes before my 7 PM reservation and was also able to make happy hour which is usually Mondays to Wednesdays from 4 PM to 7 PM and Thursdays from 5 PM to 7 PM and several cocktails are $10 instead of the usual $16. There are also other things offered during the happy hour including apps, beers, wines, and shots. I had the 12 course for $65 which included a miso soup, Kumamoto oyster (my fave), soft shelled crab (so crispy!), 7 sushi, 1 hand roll, and a dessert. You might still be a bit hungry after the 12 course so I usually recommend the 16 course! The second time I came on a Tuesday it was unlimited sake with the 16 course Omakase. It was about the same layout but with more sushi! I tasted a variation of scallop and sea urchin and fatty tuna. Mhmmm.. they were so good - I just want more! The chef is very friendly and the atmosphere was great. Will definitely recommend Kaizen for Omakase for the price, convenience and vibes. Kaizen in Japanese means change for the better or continuous improvement. I think this restaurant has definitely made Flushing better and their menu is constantly improving! read more
Kaizen is Flushing's answer to Nami Nori, though it fell a little short. Came for dinner on a Friday night and tried: + Kaizen lycheetini + Tuna tartare app + Hand rolls: -unagi - eel, avocado, homemade eel sauce, rice pops -hotate - scallops, xo sauce, truffle -chutoro - medium fatty tuna, scallion -crab - dungeness crab, miso sauce -Spicy tuna (classic) Cocktail was solid. My favorite bites were the tuna tartare app, plus the eel and spicy tuna rolls. MFT was also good. Rest of the rolls were nothing too special. Free classic hand roll with Yelp check-in was a nice touch (went with the spicy tuna). Overall it was a good meal, but not necessarily worth going out of your way for. Also, I know others love the "hotel scent" of this place, but I found it to be a pretty cloying air freshener smell. Not a great combo with temaki (or any kind of food). read more
Friends and I came here from Houston and had the $65 12 course omakase at the sushi counter. The ambiance of the restaurant was very pretty and clean, and the restrooms were also decent and spacious. Our sushi chef was a young man who was very friendly and attentive to us, but the service from the waitresses was okay. The only omakase I've been to before this one was a much more private and exclusive experience, so I will say for the price this is a pretty good place to try for casual omakase. Every cut of fish tasted very clean and was a decent size, and the hot dishes were ok at best. One complaint my whole party of 4 had was that we felt very rushed during our meal, as the first 3 courses came out from the kitchen what seemed like 2 minutes or less apart from each other and 2/3 of those dishes were not something you could eat in 1-2 bites and be done with. Our waitress also came by and only asked for a drink order once, to which we responded that we would look at the drink menu first and wait for her to come back. She didn't come back until towards the end of our meal when we only had 1-2 courses left, so we didn't see a point in ordering anymore. read more

The restaurant vibe is eclectic - it's striving for elegance, but then has a sports bar in one corner and whimsical swing chairs by the sushi bar. My husband and daughter both enjoyed the omakase, which now has 15 courses. I had the short ribs, avocado salad and shrimp tempura. The ribs were very tender and delicious. The avocado salad came with tuna sashimi and was also very good. Unfortunately, I would not get the shrimp tempura again. The waitress was attentive but not very friendly. read more

Everything about this experience was absolutely top notch. Flushing is a bit out of my way but I had to check this out and I was not disappointed. I started off with their sweet potato fries and their avocado mayo which was nice they were crispy sweet and delicious, had their Wagyu gyoza next which was great as well. Following that up I took on the 6 handroll set and they were perfect the lobster handroll was my favorite and just so decadently prepared. The tiramisu at the end was so fluffy, light and creamy I was savoring every bite. The manager took care of me during my time and my serves catered to my every need with swiftness and grace I couldn't ask for more. The restaurant is also set up so elegantly and the dim lighting made it a very comfortable and intimate experience, I will absolutely return and implore you to make the journey out here, you won't regret it! read more
The ambience is awesome. Very open space with bonsai trees spaced throughout. A large cherry blossom behind the sushi counter. I'm in love with Kaizen. Apologies if I get the spelling of names wrong. Juan was the server I had both times I went. This dude is phenomenal. If I had a restaurant I would recruit this guy in 2 seconds. So polite and attentive. He might be the pinnacle of all servers. I can't remember having a better server in my life at any restaurant. Worth hitting the 22% tip button in this case, because Juan is a super server. The bartender... May...I believe is her name. She's very friendly and welcoming too. Great personality and can converse with you if you get a bar seat. On to the food... $25 set of handrolls for lunch. Check the photos and drool. Can't even tell you which was the best. Loved them all. Fried oyster was so light and smooth. $50 lunch omakase special. Wow. Great price for 10 courses. Finished with an Otoro and uni handroll. The uni was fresh in from Hokkaido. Top 3 I've had in my lifetime, including in Japan. So sweet and creamy. Incredible. Had to add an additional Uni Handroll to the order for $25 because it's that good. Kaizen is my spot in Queens for handrolls. The place is on point. Do the $25 handroll special and $50 omakase for a curated $75 lunch. Garage parking at the hotel or street parking if you get lucky. 5 stars. An easy scoring. This place rocks. read more

Came for dinner for the $65 12-course omakase. The 12 course included 3 appetizers, 7 nigiris, 1 hand roll, and 1 dessert. Really enjoyed the winter omakase special kaizen is currently offering for a limited time where 12 courses is $65 and 16 courses is $100. I had the 12 course and loved the variety, quality and freshness of the food. You can really tell that the chefs put effort into every single piece they make! The decor is really beautiful as well - if you sit at the omakase bar you get to face a cute cherry blossom tree while you enjoy your sushi! As part of the 12 course, I had items including uni, fried soft shelled crab, miso soup, otoro, Hokkaido scallop and more!! My favorite was definitely the Hokkaido scallop which was super fresh and such a great bite. Would come back just for this!! Overall, a great spot for some affordable omakase especially for the price you pay! read more
If you have never been to Kaizen and you love sushi, you need to come. Kaizen is hands down the best Omakase in Flushing, even Queens. It wins with the beautiful decor, excellent service and great food. It's really easy to make a reservation through resy, I usually go this route. They have sushi bar, booth, and table choices. The sushi bar is my favorite because the bar wraps around a beautiful faux Cherry Blossom tree. The sushi chefs, Ben and Jay are amazing and funny. To the right is a swing which is a great photo spot the 'gram. There's also a nice bar area if you're just in the mood for drinks. They have beautifully presented yummy cocktails and good sake. Kaizen tends to run a lot of specials, so follow them on Instagram for their lastest offerings. I know for sure Tuesdays are unlimited sake night with omakase and Thursdays are ladies' night. There are also happy hour specials and happy hour omakase. Now for the food, they are my favorite omakase. The fish is always fresh. I've never had a bad piece, and I've been to Kaizen probably a dozen times. They also have a chefs special donburi bowl when they are open for lunch on Friday, Saturday, and Sundays. Order this if you ever come here for lunch on those days. Make it a date night or bring a crowd. read more

Food/Drinks: I genuinely enjoyed the Omakase experience here at Kaizen. We got the December special (12 courses for $65), which was worth it. We also made it in time for Happy Hour and were able to enjoy some of the drinks, which were so rich and flavorful. We also got some sake with our meal, and it paired extremely well. The fish were all fresh and had their distinct flavors. The presentation was also wonderful, and the time between each dish was relatively well-paced. Ambiance: The place is absolutely beautiful and perfect for date night. The decor is chic and great for pictures. We sat at the bar, which I would 100% recommend over regular seating. Service: The waiter was super nice, and we loved talking to them. They made sure to check up on us often, and they even provided hand wipes before the meal. read more
Came here on a Friday work lunch, We made a reservation but it some how didn't register but the place wasn't busy so they were able to sit us down asap. We ordered the eel bowl, the TRIO CLASSIC and the lunch set. Quite expensive for a two person meal. The meal was decently good, all the fish was on point. The eel bowl was probably the best thing we had but my wife loved the scallop hand rolls. Service was quick. We were in and out in about 40 min since I had to park only meters in the area. They were very accommodate as we had a baby with us. Love the decor and the cherry blossom tree in the back. Would come here again for the omakase experience. read more

The 15 course omakase tasting was delightful. The food is fantastic, they have plenty of dietary substitutes they can do to accommodate seafood and meat changes. The service is quick and very welcoming! I love the quiet ambiance and lovely decor. read more

I'm going to be totally honest and this is coming from someone who has experienced dozens of Omakase in New York. The two price points of $65 and $100 Omakase is not bad however the 45 minute experience for 16 courses is truly feeling rushed. This is not to mention there is absolutely no street parking around there except for the next-door hotel where they charge you for valet parking. I would think a dinner for two charging over $200 would provide some form of parking but that's just me. Each course is nothing special however if you go on a Tuesday, it's all you can drink sake but how much can you drink in an hour because that's the time limit they give you. Kaizen is not bad but with all the Omakase's opening in New York, there are plenty better ones imo at those price points. This spot is good for locals, people who live in the Flushing area whom don't drive. The ambiance and their service is fairly decent. read more
What an amazing and enjoyable experience. I took my friend to her first Omakase experience and this place takes the cake. The staff is extremely attentive and went above and beyond. The sushi chefs were so interactive and fun. We had so much fun, we wanted to stay and keep chatting. The appetizers were so delightful. The sushi so fresh and melts in your mouth. Free dessert on the house. We got the more expensive omakase and definitely worth it! I'll be back! read more

Step into kaizen for a taste sensation, we tried the Lunch Handroll set with Hamachi, Hotate, Akami, Sake and Fried Oyster -available Fridays and Saturday from 12 pm - 3 pm, also the chef's choice Don Buri-Fresh sashimi over a warm bowl of rice is a feast for the senses. we've got the Mochownie dessert, it's a sweet melody of warm mochi brownie bliss. With a buzzing vibe and a full bar , Kaizen is your go-to for an epic dining experience. read more

I received an email notification that Kaizen has specially invited a Vietnamese chef who is a little famous on social media from L.A. these two days. We thought it should be interesting, so we came here to try it. The taste is not bad. However, the most important thing is to spend a pleasant night with family. We still prefer the skills of the two chefs of Kaizen, but because they shared the kitchen and sushi bar with the entire guest chef team today, the two resident chefs were unable to show their cooking skills well, so we can only come back another day to enjoy their cooking. The atmosphere on the scene today is not bad, and the service is also OK. This event will last for one more day tomorrow (06/06/2025), and those who are interested can make a reservation and try it. read more

The food was amazing, very refreshing flavors in the handrolls. My only complaint is I felt that they were a bit tiny for the price. At least compared to other places I've been with similar prices. I did end up ordering more handrolls after these three, on top of 2 appetizers during happy hour: the karaage and gyoza. The handrolls could definitely use more filling. The interior is a bit dark and intimate at dinner. Overall very good spot for a date night. read more

Kaizen is a hidden gem in Flushing, perfect for a sushi lover's treat, and there's convenient parking next door, making it even easier to visit. I came here for their lunch special and ordered the Kaizen Hand Roll Set for just $25--a fantastic deal considering the quality and variety! The set included hamachi, hotate, akami, sake, and fried oyster hand rolls. Each roll was a delightful two-bite experience, with the flavors beautifully fresh and well-balanced. Make sure to ask for a side of fresh ginger; it's a refreshing palate cleanser that really lets each roll shine. Before the meal even started, they brought out lemon wedges, a thoughtful touch so you can keep your fingers clean as you eat. I also ordered a few other dishes that really made the lunch feel special. The glazed ribs were outstanding--tender, with a hint of sweetness that didn't overpower but balanced well with the meat's natural flavors. The soft-shell crab was another favorite, perfectly crispy, and I couldn't help but devour it within minutes! My father, who's usually a bit picky, loved the miso cod--it was perfectly cooked and rich in flavor, very similar to the cod you'd get at Nobu but at half the price. We also tried the wagyu fried rice, and it was a real standout. The rice was incredibly savory, with tender, flavorful chunks of wagyu mixed in, making it just indulgent enough without feeling too heavy. For a little extra treat, I ordered the Hokkaido uni hand roll, and it was worth every penny--fresh, creamy, and packed with pure umami goodness! We also treated ourselves to the Lycheetini, a beautifully crafted cocktail with gin, lychee syrup, lime juice, and a touch of butterfly pea flower extract for that gorgeous color. It was the perfect balance of sweet and floral, with the lychee adding a delicate fruitiness and the lime giving it a refreshing kick. The butterfly pea flower extract made it almost too pretty to drink, but we enjoyed every sip--definitely a must-try for cocktail lovers! The service was excellent, too. Our server, Jeffrey, was attentive and checked in on us frequently, making sure we were enjoying everything. Overall, Kaizen is a great spot for lunch if you have some time to relax and savor the specials. Ambiance is good. Food is mediocre, not as fresh as I would expect out of an omakase. If you are a foodie, and you have tried sushi everywhere, even in Japan then forget it. The Hokkaido uni and scallops, I am not sure, maybe they are from Hokkaido but not to my taste bud. The size of sushi is half of the size of what you usually get elsewhere. We had to order extra on top of our omakase. It's definitely a drinking/hanging out with your friend place. read more

A very decent restaurant offers good price on omakase and great services! Inside this high ceiling joint is nice and clean with very chill and comfortable vibe. I personally love the Cherry Blossom Tree decor behind the counter. We had a very pleasant Omakase experience! A group of 5 of us sat at the sushi counter last Monday night for 17 piece omakase. A shout out to Ben the sushi chef! He was very informative, friendly and easy to talk with. We enjoyed our dinner very much and had a fantastic time. For sure I will be back again and this joint has just become one of my go to when in mood for omakase! Another shout out to Bob the fun boss, thank you so much for the warm hospitality. read more
Came here for lunch and decided on the $65 -10 piece omakase. Everything was fresh and incredibly tasty. They change their menu with the season. They are currently serving their spring menu. They also have the $100 omakase with 16 pieces. Note- it's hard to find parking here but they have parking at the hotel next door which you will need to pay for. Service was great- she explained every dish that came out and checked in on us frequently. Decor of the place is quite pretty. I wish the restaurant didn't smell like the hotel as it's a bit strong. read more

The food was amazing. So many different flavors. I only had those 5 pieces and each piece was delicious. Would definitely want to go back for the full experience. TLDR: A good addition to the community brining something unique. Kaizen's food and drinks live up to sexy aesthetic they bring to Flushing. A rarity in this area. Definitely try their hand rolls, especially the Premium Set which is only on Thursdays. Omakase offering is a solid good value at the Sushi Bar. Don't sleep on the drinks, the beverage program is excellent. I was very hesitant to try Kaizen at first. The menu looks very similar to Nami Nori but nonetheless I eventually did try it. The pricing is on the higher side but - the quality of the ingredients are excellent. The cocktails are very tasty and this might be one of the best places for drinks in Flushing. At least for proper drinks. The Premium Set of hand rolls is probably my favorite thing on the menu. It's only available on Thursday though. I've had both the Happy Hour omakase and the Premium omakase. While the Premium is much more, it's a far better value all around. You will be quite full, no need to order anything else. There's a pretty extensive drink menu and the cocktails are all great. I think Kaizen fills a unique void in Flushing with a great concept that's hard to find. Yes, it's worth taking a trip for and the food is tasty. The team here is super friendly and very attentive. read more

Got the privilege to meet Peter Wong. One of the guys who was running this great establishment. He made his rounds and introduced himself and made sure that we were taken good care of. We've ordered one of their Omakase set for two. Each dish that came to our table was refreshing, different, and new to my palette. I love how they design the variety of choices we've gotten. It's definitely a place to really appreciate each of the dishes. Towards the end he welcomed us with complimentary drinks as a celebration of their new spot. This is definitely a perfect place for dates and small intimate groups! Definitely photo friendly and a great place to impress. I would definitely come back here to try out their other parts of the menu! read more
