Do people enjoy sitting inside or on the patio better?

    We liked the patio more!

Do they have keto options? I think I saw a picture of tuna roll without rice on their open table pictures, but it's not written on the menu.

    They have sashimi!

    Is there valet?

Pretty crazy I don't believe there was valet so you had to park your own car for $20 and there was a homeless guy going in between the cars with a baseball bat

Going to this restaurant for the first time tomorrow. Any suggestions on where to park? Thank you in advance 🙂!

We found parking on a nearby street.

What is the Rick Ross roll made of and is it not available on the menu anymore?

I talked to the manager about this last week. He was really busy so I appreciated he didn't mind (or didn't act like he did :)) talking with me about it. Long story short, he said he's never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna…

    Are dogs allowed? Thanks!

    Yes

What's a good item to order?

The Rick James Roll is AMAZING

We came during off hours-ish (around 1pm) and were able to be seated immediately at the bar. There was a bit of a wait for an actual table. Our server immediately explained the menu as it was my first time here and offered recommendations. My friend and I both opted to get the Nozawa set menu, which had a mix of sashimi/nigiri/hand rolls. I don't usually eat hand rolls, but this was a great first time experience. The menu is well crafted and the timing at which the food is brought out to you is also thoughtfully planned. I can't even pick a favorite because everything was delicious. The Nozawa set was also a good amount of food. Ambiance was great, and the bar was a great spot for people watching. There are a lot of small touches which make dining here a great experience, such as how fast your plates are cleared, and how the bathroom even has unscented vs scented hand soap depending on if you're washing your hands before or after your meal. Staff was super friendly as well.

The food is fantastic, perfect taste as usual!! The service is a hit and miss at this location. With our server covering several tables and the bar area, made it a bit difficult to get his attention. He took a break during our service and his replacement was struggling to keep up. I had to ask for a refill on our sodas and forgot. Once our original server came back, there was an improvement in service.

Food: authentic Japanese sushi like I'm in Japan - right here in MDR!…read more Everything was delicious and fresh. We had tuna sashimi, salmon sashimi, red snapper (madai), sea bass (suzuki), halibut gin (engawa), toro ponzu, yellow tail, unagi, ume chiso temaki and side of tempura. Service: we sat at the sushi bar and our waitress was attentive with tea refills and clearing dishes. The owner was serving us and was kind enough to make me the ume chiso temaki even though I don't think it was on the menu. Ambiance: bar and several tables. Parking: extremely difficult. There are only like 4 spaces for the restaurant. Recommend getting an Uber. We parked across the street on Strongs Drive. If we are ever in MDR again, we are coming back!
