We had a great time with family here. Though this visit was an exemption. The staff were very accommodating and quickly resolved some issues. Their soda machine was dispensing flat drinks. Not sure if the machine was broken but there's no carbonation in any of the drinks. Too sweet and too much syrup. Management took that off our check and they were very generous and made sure we were happy with our visit. We will definitely come back again. Best Mongolian grill we've been to so far in the local area.

It's more than food but a experience. Wasn't quite sure about the place but my son talked me into it. No regrets. You create your own noodle dish. Lots to choose from then they cook it up for you. Great friendly service and ambiance was pretty laid back. Great place for a first date. Will definitely come back.

I was quite pleased with my visit to the Wacky Mongolian Grill! It's a bit of a drive from my home, but well worth it. The selection of meats, spices, and sauces is better than most of the Mongolian stir-fry restaurants I've visited. The service was good, and the waitress was friendly and attentive to our drinks.

Place is located in a strip center out front the Walmart. Plenty of parking. Walked in and greeted promptly, not slam busy but it was 12:45pm so I was expecting it to be busy. We were seated quickly and drink orders taken. They gave us the card to fill out and we filled out our cards and headed to the line to pick our ingredients. You put table# , name and which noodle or rice you want. They have beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, miniature scallops and fish. They have every vegetable you would want. Also mushrooms and jalapeños and all the seasonings and hot sauces. You put all your choices into small bowl, if you are good at playing Jenga you can stack a lot of stuff into the small metal bowl. I got the Udon noodles but you can pic 2-3 different sides including rice. You hand your bowl and card to the the cook and they cook it on the Mongolian grill top..and bring to your table within 5 mins.. We were a group of 4, price was approx $13.95 but includes drink, a starter cucumber salad and ice cream afterwards. Well worth the price. Of course everything was hot and fresh since cooked to order and the ingredients all looked fresh. Must try this place, staff was friendly and the waitstaff checked on us often and our drinks kept full...

Ask the Community - Wacky Mongolian Grill

I read they closed months ago. Is it true?

It's still open as far as I'm concerned.

Are the gluten free w options and do they use MSG in their food?

The restaurant called me to say they never closed. That upsets me because I recall reading they did close about a year ago. If you have not been there you should give them a try. No more responses needed.

The second time I visited, I had the Hong Shao Rou with mushrooms (Braised Pork Belly) to-go, not a huge fan of takeout and this didn't disappoint and it was good. The takeout team member was pleasant enough. They feature an open kitchen with two tops closer to the wall/glass and larger tables more toward the middle of the restaurant. From the outside it features the traditional Chinese architecture with western building base. I look forward to yaksying the rest of the menu this year.

But the inconsistency has been an issue for me, and the flavors aren't as good as they once were. Dishes I regularly ordered like Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Japanese Egg Tofu, and Honey Walnut Shrimp haven't stood out as much as of lately. Dishes like Szechuan Spicy Chicken is still one of my favorite, and Garlic Snow Pea Leaves are delicious when in season. Bamboo House still holds its place as great spot for group dining. The portion is generous, prices are fair, and overall a solid restaurant that's still worth recommending.

The chicken fried rice was filled to the top of the takeout box, which was plenty for one. I preserved its freshness in a Tupperware container. The fried rice has egg and green onion. I wish they added peas and carrots. It's salted enough and has great flavor that you don't really need the extra soy sauce packets. I mean, you can, if you want. I've noticed this in other Chinese restaurants that the chicken is cut skinny in long pieces. It almost looks like a noodle. I wish they were cubed or something smaller to make it bite-sized. They give you plenty of chicken pieces. It's one of the best chicken fried rice dishes I've tasted in a while. You get a huge serving for just $9.25. The sweet and sour chicken had a crispy batter breading, but there was barely any chicken. I'm glad there was a lot of chicken in the fried rice to compensate. The bell pepper they use to garnish overpowers the flavor of the fried chicken if it touched it. The sweet & sour sauce on the side was good. I'd like to try some of their other dishes. The menu has a wide selection for all meats, veggies, soups, and rice/noodles.
